This was my first stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Paris Gare de Lyon, and it was overall a good stay. The hotel seems either fairly new or has been recently refurbished, so everything is in good working order from what I could see. We stayed in a room with the Eiffel Tower and a King bed - it was spacious for Parisian rooms. Although the Eiffel Tower is not close, you get a sprawling view of the city with it in the distance, rather than it being right infront of you. It was still close enough to see the lights at night, including when it sparkles at the start of every hour. The bed is comfortable and the usual amenities are provided, however it was very strange that there was only one set of everything when this is a King bed room booked for two people to stay. There was also some rubbish left on the floor when we first checked into the room. It's not dirty, but the housekeeping can be improved. Also strangely, this is the first Courtyard by Marriott I have stayed at where Marriott Bonvoy benefits for complimentary breakfast do not apply - you get a credit of €20 each day to spend if you are a Titanium member but need to pay for the balance. It's an odd one, they said they don't have a lounge but at other Courtyard by Marriott properties I have stayed at in other countries, the breakfast is provided irrespective of whether there is a member's lounge. The food at breakfast is great and highly recommended, and the pastries are tasty. Location wise, it is very close to Gare de Lyon, which is both a metro and RED line, and only two stops away from Gare du Nord if you are arriving by train. There are also plenty of food options around and very close to various bus stations servicing the area and further. The service was great here, very helpful, friendly and professional. Many thanks for the help with printing and scanning a document! One great thing about the hotel to note is that after dark, you can only access the hotel with your key card, which is great for safety.
