I recently attended a show at The Courtyard Playhouse in Dubai With Sparkle Foundation, and it was a truly memorable experience! The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and full of creative energy. The performers were incredibly talented - their improv skills and stage presence kept the audience engaged and laughing throughout. What I appreciated most was the genuine passion for theatre you can feel the moment you walk in. It’s clear that everyone involved puts their heart into the performance. 👏🏻👏🏻😂😂

One of the best improv theatres I’ve ever been to. Volunteers to performers to each n every person in the establishment is extremely warm n welcoming. Catch all their events through out the walk just RSVP for free n enjoy 2 hours of live entertainment 🙌🏾

Just finished the 6 week Don't Panic course at The Courtyard Playhouse, and what an experience it was! While The Playhouse has long been lauded as a beautiful venue with great improv classes for adults and kids alike, I'd like to make a special mention here. About our teacher Ahmed Achrafi. Ash, as he is better known, has always been one of the most popular performers at the Monday and Wednesday night shows. So here's to hm: Ash. I've seen you on stage many, many times, but interacting with you in this role was a revelation. Your passion and love for the art is endearing. When you talk about performing, it's quiet and respectful, and so full of emotion, that the listener can't help but want to do it! As I did. You paid attention to every single person, and through the course, helped them hone their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. You pushed without being pushy, and you made sure no one got lost in the background, no matter how shy or awkward they felt. This is what a good teacher does. On a personal level, you helped me begin to ease control over the narrative (on stage and in my life), something I always struggle with. Thank you for everything, and I do hope to be able to learn more from you in the future. A big thank you also to the Courtyard team - Hadeel, Jana, Marie, and more - who made sure we made the most of our time there. See you all very soon for more. To be continued... 😉😉

I've been attending improv shows at the Courtyard Playhouse for many years now and have always enjoyed it! I finally decided to try the improv classes for adults earlier this year and can honestly say it is changing the way my mind works. I specifically want to improve my public speaking skills, become more confident, to not hold myself back due to overthinking, to reconnect with my creative and playful sides and to develop a healthier mindset towards failure - the monthly mashup improv classes have definitely helped with all of these! And I am looking forward to starting the Don't Panic workshop to continue on this journey of self development! Everyone on their team is also incredibly friendly and helpful! All the instructors that I have worked with through the monthly mashup classes - Ash, Kyle, Salman - have been fantastic: supportive, inclusive, and making sure that everyone participates and feels seen and of course, has fun! It is an absolute joy to attend shows here as well as learn more about improv at this beautiful theatre ♥️

Hi parents, Our 4-year-old son had so much fun at the summer camp in 2025 and, for the first time, went on stage with his new friends. He was very excited and absolutely loved it. We’ve already registered him for the new term for September 2025. Next year we are planning to register at least 2-3 summer camp weeks ;) Great thanks to all Courtyard Playhouse people as they are amazing, kind, helpful, positive, sincere… PS. There are coffee shops and rta car parking around, no worries.

I had no prior experience with improv but decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. The "Don't Panic" course was exceptionally well-organized, and Kyle has been a fantastic and friendly instructor throughout. The theater and overall environment are perfect for learning and enjoying live shows. It would be a nice addition if they could provide designated parking for attendees.

A community in busy Dubai The CPD offers so much to Dubai- they offer screenings of UK National Theatre plays, classes and workshops for corporations, individuals and children, they offer entertainment evenings, plays and special events a few nights each week for only the cost of a donation “to keep the lights on”. We went for “Improv” night and had so many laughs. This is a great night out. I recommend the evenings and the classes and workshops. Truly a special place in Dubai.

We recently had a birthday party for our daughter at the Playhouse and it was such a refreshing kids party experience! Kids had a workshop and then entertained their parents with a short play. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it!! Highly recommended! It's easy to arrange, the staff there are very friendly, professional and super nice!
