I used to stay at this hotel a few years ago when my daughter was in University and it used to be a 4 star hotel. It seemed when I stayed recently it seemed the upkeep hasn't been done and the maintenance. This was fine and the service was very good since I only stayed one night. Here is my review: Pros: - Service was excellent, check in fast, check out fast, all requests I had were met right away by the staff at the hotel. -Location is amazing, near everything downtown Toronto you can imagine. Very convenient location and right across the street from the subway. -The room had everything you would need and extra towels. -Air conditioning was working very well. - I expected to hear night time sirens and police cars but didn't hear a thing which was a great surprise. -Convenient to have a fridge in the room as well as all the coffee etc. amenities. - I was given a welcome package with snacks as a Bonvoy member which was great since on my day of arrival I came off the train very hungry and that was good for me until I was able to procure more food. - Shower always had very hot water which was amazing. Cons: Two cons stood out for me aside from the hotel seeming to be not maintained well over the years since I was last here around 4 years ago: a) the bathtub had these brown scratches, at first i thought it was a stain and tried to clean it , but it was the porcelain that was scratched off-so it would have needed to get a new bathtub. That bothered me since people are showering and you stand with these brown scratches on the tub, it wasn't throughout the tub mainly were the drain was. and lastly b) the sheet had a stain on one side of it so i slept on the other side of the sheet- a Marriott could invest in new sheets or check to make sure there aren't any stains on the sheets. Just didn't feel nice and put a damper on the other things that were good that I listed above. Overall this hotel is fine for a short stay and likely not all the hotel rooms are with the cons I described. I was there just for one night so I didn't bother to ask for a room change as I wasn't spending time in the room and was there just for the one night.

This would be a great hotel to put up your in-laws if you hate them. I travel regularly for work and will never ever stay here again: Even though I booked it over a month prior, the hotel gave away my suite to another guest and told me all that was available is a "Standard" room. I also won't be receiving the price difference back they said, but instead I would get a few meal vouchers. After two hours of arguing they finally refunded me just $100 (a $2000 reservation) but held the previous so I was out over $4k all weekend. There was only hot water in the showers for Day 1 and Day 5 of my stay, cold showers in between. The beds were comfortable thankfully but the pillows were impressively flat. If you stay here you are very brave!

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom amenities were fine. A tea/coffee machine was provided but I am not a fan of them so I was glad that I had my own travel kettle with me.|The reception staff were very helpful.|The air con worked well even though it was quite noisy.|The location is good. it is 200 yards to a metro station. it is also within walking distance of downtown.|As a 'techlite' traveller I appreciated the computer terminal available to guests in the lobby.|The free guest laundry (available at all hours) was a facility which I was grateful for.|If I were to visit the city again I would be happy to repeat my stay at this hotel.

Google
The room was nice and the front desk staff were nice. The location is good we were very close to downtown, so everything we needed to get to was within walking distance. The mattress was ok, it was older and not flat. And the pillows were not my style, very dense and hard. It's quite expensive and the price is likely because of the location, but I expect a bit better accommodation when paying that amount for a night stay. Note that parking here is only a valet service, so once you get you car parked, you can access it again. Overall it was good but I'd probably not going to stay at that location again.

Google
Brilliant location. Nice friendly welcome, room was large, we had 3 adults in ours. At night there was some noise but that's to be expected in any big city. Had an issue with the bath which was resolved really quickly. Reception area always smelt really nice! Can't fault the hotel at all.

Here the things that I liked about this hotel: there was complimentary bottled water at the reception but this was not advertised (you had to know about it). This was good. I never return to hotels that do not provide complimentary quality water and expect you to drink from the bathroom sink or to pay outrageous amounts just to drink water. I also appreciated having a safe in the room for the storage of valuables and electronics. Location was excellent and staff were good. Fitness room was ok (could have used more weight equipment and they have room for it). Free breakfast was mediocre but I did not care because I do not eat breakfast. Down side was that on some days the housekeeping staff were very noisy in the morning outside the room making it hard to sleep in (e.g., doors slamming, carts moving etc). I find it very annoying when housekeeping staff are so present and noisy early in the morning. Some hotels manage housekeeping noise levels and presence better than others and this hotel could do better in that regard. Other than that, things were good.

Google
I had an excellent stay at the hotel! It’s in a perfect location—just steps from bars, clubs, and restaurants—yet still quiet and peaceful at night. The gym is massive and fully equipped for any workout, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Maria from housekeeping: I lost my wedding ring somewhere in the room and, after two frantic searches, I assumed it was gone forever. But when I returned later that day, Maria had not only found it but carefully placed it on the table. Absolute lifesaver. THANK YOU, MARIA!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jessica at the Bistro inside Courtyard Toronto is a total vibe. Great energy, always smiling, and made the whole experience feel personal. She wasn’t just taking an order, she was creating a moment. Super friendly, dialed-in, and you could tell she actually cared. Not transactional, just good people. Exactly who you want running point when you’re grabbing a bite or a drink. Appreciate you, Jessica. -Titanium Elite Member

Yelp
No major issues with our stay here. Walking distance to downtown so if you don't want to eat at the bistro downstairs, you can find all types of different markets, stores, and restaurants nearby. They also sell drinks and snacks and toiletries and accessories if you need it. Room was clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. Kind of weird set up as the sink was located outside of the bathroom. Other negatives were that the elevators were also kind of slow and you also have to pay for valet. Good little lounge area where they have sofas where you can watch any sporting events going on. I think Peter was the server and he was really nice and helpful and changed to the game we wanted to watch and also constantly checked on us and refilled our waters.

Yelp
Came here for a conference and what a great experience. The General Manager, Murray has such a wonderful and diverse team of over 20+ languages on site. Walking distance from the Eaton Center and many other hot and popular Toronto Locations, it's a great spot to stay when you visit Toronto. Lobby has a bar and the market, which has snacks and other useful items you might need for your trip. Although the hotel has no pool, the gym is well maintained and has just about everything you'll need to get a good sweat on. Very friendly staff, cozy lobby entrance, valet and parking services available and rooms are very spacious and relaxing. DELICIOUS CARROT CAKE! Starbucks coffee via The Market is on site! Would recommend for business, leisure or families.

Yelp
A great stay. The staff was amazing. They have 2 washers and dryers for free. The room was very clean and the staff was quick to bring anything up. The location is amazing for exploring the city. The have free continental breakfast for gold members or higher. The have a small restaurant. The best thing is the location and the kindness of the staff. It is not a luxury hotel but a useful one.

Yelp
I'm only reviewing the conference room and the food catering. We are here for divisional update meeting. The conference room is big and bright, but it is a bit cold. There are 2 projectors in the room so it's easier for the whole room to see clearly. Presenter can choose to speak with the mic on the stand or wireless mic to move about the room. The catered lunch had chicken thigh meat no bone. It was pretty tender but a bit too sweet on the BBQ sauce. Coleslaw was fresh and not too sour which I liked. There were also cooked veggies, vegetarian pasta, small toast potatoes, and bread rolls. Some small cakes for dessert. All in all good selection for lunch.

Yelp
This is one big hotel. The check in process was really good. The girl explained all of the amenities in detail and all was easily understood. Valet parking is $45 a day, but provides easy in and out privileges. For breakfast, you can order the $25 buffet, or order an item (like a breakfast burrito) from the Cafe counter, where they serve Starbucks coffee. The place has a gym and pool on the lower level. The gym is quite big and has lots of different workout machines, weights, and treadmills. The pool is divided into separate sections. The whirlpool looks very cool. The king bed room we received was relatively small, with a sink in a separate room than the shower--what a strange set up. The bed was comfortable. There's a huge HD TV, but not a lot of premium channels. However, I do like the dresser in front of the TV that allows for lots of table top space to put your personal items in plain view There's quite a number of fast food places around the hotel (Mcds, Wendys, A&W) as well as a stand-alone Starbucks, one block south. More restaurant and shopping options are a 15 minute walk south towards the Eaton Centre area.

Yelp
Five nights here on Marriott Rewards points. As a Titanium Elite, I was upgraded to a room on the 17th floor that was comfortable and very quiet this far away from the street noise. Clean and with no slamming doors, there was enough room to spread out my stuff with a king size bed and a sofa. I did not turn on the television. Bathroom was decent sized with the curved shower rail that Marriott does well. I did not utilize the bistro, the business center or the pool. In room coffee was restocked the one day that I intentionally left the DND off the door. The other days, they honored the sign and did not disturb. Housekeeping did a great job resetting the room. The location of the property is good with many restaurants and grocery within two or three blocks. It's also close to the College Subway Station. Main complaint was that the wifi was pretty much useless. I spent most of my time with my laptop tethered to the cell phone. Even in the morning, but especially so in the evening. As well, the elevators were dog slow. [Review 11003 overall, 776 of 2019.]

Yelp
I came here for a meeting over lunch in The Bistro. The chicken curry soup had a nice flavour but the chicken was stringy and I prefer thicker soups. For my entree, I had the roasted chicken with fries on the side, and coleslaw. Oddly, it was also served with melted butter for dipping. It was half a chicken, a large chicken. I couldn't finish it. A quarter chicken might be a better offering on the menu. Tastewise, it was okay but the fries were limp. My companion had the rigatoni with sausage and spinach. It looked good but could have used more sauce (my preference). Overall, the food was okay, and wasn't far from being better. The hotel has undergone some renovations over the past year and looks good - carpet, paint, lighting.

Yelp
Everything except for the parking situation, was good. The only excellent part was the room service for the breakfast. The food arrived quickly, still hot and tasted delicious. The man that took my order was very kind as well. We didn't order anything extravagant but it was still very good. Room was clean. Wifi worked very well. The only part that was kind of a pain was parking. No on-site parking. Just valet. Kind of spendy too. There is a small parking lot practically adjacent to the hotel but with strange hours. It's not owned by Marriot though.

Yelp
Great location! Close to downtown and plenty of shopping and good eats right outside the hotel. The train station is located around the corner and a 24 hour convenience store close to the hotel which makes it extremely convenient to pick up stuff. The train really makes it easy to get around town. The beds were on the the softer side but the most important thing is the rooms are clean. There is still construction going around the hotel so the outside area can get a little congested. I didn't get a chance to use the gym in the hotel so I can't comment on it. The lobby area is extremely busy since this is also a convention center. In a nutshell the hotel is great with valet parking. There is a parking lot across the street that is cheaper but I would recommend Just using the hotel valet .You can check in-and-out as many times as you want and just call the valet 10 minutes before coming down and the car will be ready for you. I would stay at this hotel again because the location is just perfect for everything and close to all major attractions in the Toronto area.

Yelp
We have stayed in downtown Toronto about 4 times previously and this by far was our favorite hotel to date. 1. Location is great - right on Yonge street with plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Subway near by. 2. Hotel - Rooms were remodeled, clean and well appointed. Bed was comfortable. 3. Staff - From housekeeping to front desk, every employee we encountered was very nice and friendly. Icing on the cake was that we always leave a tip each morning ~$5 USD for the housekeeping staff. This time we left a thank you note just to let them know the money was for them. Aileen the housekeeper left a thank you note the next day with a crayons and an activity kit for our 3 yr old son. I'm not sure if this was something they have on them that is provided by Marriott or she used her own tip to purchase but it really showed a personal touch which we greatly appreciated. It's the little things that add up. This will be our preferred hotel next time in town.

Yelp
Great experience here. We don't ask for much; just have clean rooms and decent hotel service. My boyfriend and I traveled from Chicago all the way to Toronto and didn't book a hotel beforehand since we weren't sure if the trip was actually happening until 3 days prior. We walked in at 9am and were promptly booked for three nights and immediately taken to our room. The room was spacious, clean, and well-kept. For a hotel we just picked and decided, "Screw it, lets stay here!" this hotel was great. The hotel is also conveniently located on Yonge St which allowed us to travel down to the harbor easily while allowing us to easily travel to other neighborhoods as well. Would definitely stay here again. 5/5

Yelp
I am surprised by the lower rating. This is a very nice, affordable downtown hotel within walking distance of lots of stuff ... it is great for business and personal travel. We drove and used the hotel valet to park. There were no issues with that. there were tons of vehicles going in and out. It turned out we were there during multiple city events (August 2019) that included the Yankees/Bluejays, Rogers Cup, Iron Maidan and Asian food and beer festivals. A lot was going on and there were people everywhere. The hotel processed all of us really well. Our room was very nice and modern. I would say this Marriott is as nice as the regular brand of Marriott I have stayed at in many other cities, but for a lot less. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Meh.... That's about it. There are better properties... Marriott properties to stay in in Toronto. This is an older building, circa 1970s and I think they have really struggled to keep up. The elevators are a freaking nightmare.... 20 floors, two working elevators. What the hell?!?!? They need to fix this ASAP, clearly they lack urgency and money at this property to do so. The lobby is very crowded and the rooms are tiny... check out my pic. Also.... really weird, the bathroom/shower are opposite the side that the sink is on? This is mostly business folks staying in town... imagine if you have to be somewhere for meeting and only two elevators are working.... or you're tired and want rest in your room.... enjoy the 15-30 min wait for an elevator. If you're debating about staying here after that... then best of luck and take your chances, we probably won't be back.

Yelp
I stayed for 2 nights and wanted to extend my stay a extra night. I had already payed the deposit from my credit card and they told me they would just roll it over onto my additional stay. Relaxing in my room I am disturbed by thumping on my door telling me to head down to the front desk , by security. I asked him what for and he said it's because I didn't pay for the room. Mind you I am paying for my room with points because I WAS a loyal Marriot Bonvoy Member ,I had more then enough points to cover my room for 6 other nights if I wanted. The front desk tells me I need to make a additional deposit after they already told me they would roll it over. They made up bogus rules and argued with me. So I told them to cancel and return my points to me and the deposit also. Come to find out they put the expiry on the deposit till The 20th of Jan, when my check out date was the 1st of January. So they spitefully did that to inconvenience me because my argument was that ,they wanted to hold 200 dollars for x amount of days for 1 night and I already left a deposit. This was all during the time when flights we canceled and the mayhem was taking place at the airport. I'm a top tier bonvoy member and I didn't expect to get treated like that at all. I'm officially done with them and this is just one of 3 problems I've had with Marriot.

Yelp
We've stayed at this hotel a few times now, typically once a year when we come to Toronto. The hotel is very nice. Staff is friendly and the beds are very comfortable which is my number one concern. We usually have very busy days so I need to make sure I'm getting the most quality sleep at night. I liked the bistro downstairscin the lobby. They offer starbucks drinks and at night it is also a little bar. The mornings were pretty busy but I felt the staff worked quickly to try to expedite the line. My latte was perfect every morning. Bar staff was fun and took very good care of us. This location is close to restaurants and etc.,bso it's convenient for us. This year we also utilized the meeting space for our executive meeting. Meeting room was very spacious and the staff was exceptional. The lunch selection was good and easy to choose. We'll definitely be back next year as long as the price is right. Check in and out was easy and hassle free, even though we had a large group.

Yelp
Great location. Rooms are clean. I'm staying in a room with a king size bed. Thought it was weird that the shower/toilet area is separate from the sink. They are opposite from each other. The room I got is small. It was the one in the far corner. The gym has everything you need. Free weight DBs, cardio machines, cable machine and two leg machines. They have towels and water as well. Overall great hotel to stay and close to Eaton Centre. Tons of restaurants and shops near this hotel. Walking distance from tons of businesses too.

Yelp
I'm surprised by the bad reviews on this hotel. We had a great stay here this past week. We only have 2 complaints regarding our stay- which would put our hotel at a 3.5 if we could give half stars. 1) is the construction that started pretty early in the morning. Understand we stayed on business days but it was heavy slamming of materials outside our window at 7:30am. 2) the cost of parking. 45/day is outrageous. The valet guys were really nice and let us know other places we could park but in the end we chose the hotel parking out of convenience. The hotel is in a fantastic location. We were able to walk nearly everywhere we wanted to go. When we did want our car it only took about 5 minutes to get it. The restaurant in the hotel is not bad. We ordered it one day for lunch. We used the hotel pool several times. Love that they have a little wading pool for the kiddos. I also went running a couple of times outside. Easy and felt safe. I would stay here again for the location.

Yelp
Positive experience during my two night stay here at the Marriott. It's near the "College" TTC station and nearby a bunch of eateries (i.e. Tim Hortons, Starbucks, McDonalds, and etc). It's also near a supermarket and pharmacy. The hotel is clean and newly renovated. Our room was spacious. I thought that both Queens size beds were comfy and soft. But, I personally like firmer beds tho. We had a problem with our bathroom toilet and the hotel staff were able to fix the problem. They also gave us two $5 vouchers to the hotel Starbucks lounge after this incident - which was an unexpected and kind gesture. Great service by the staff and they were very professional even when we first checked into the hotel. I would comeback to this Marriott again one day if I visit Toronto in the future.

Yelp
I thought this place was pretty nice. I've stayed here several times over the past year. It's close to my customers downtown. I prefer to take a cab from the airport rather than pay to $50 a day to rent a car, plus $38 a day to park it. I haven't tried the new menu from the bistro. Rooms are clean. I reserved a king sized bed, but when I checked in, all that was ready was a room with two queens. I know I checked in early, so I took what I could get. There is a safe in the room, which was great. I would stay here again, but only if the internet works. Previously, I haven't had any problems, but they told me when I checked in the WiFi only worked in the lobby. Lame.

Yelp
This hotel was the perfect hub for my recent three-day stay in Toronto. It is located within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants, within running distance (for me) of the waterfront and provides easy access to public transportation, if that is a preferred way to get around town. The staff members on duty throughout my visit were helpful and quite cordial. They pleasantly provided replacement room keys when I accidentally left mine behind in the room. More than once (I did provide photo ID). The room was very well maintained throughout my stay and everything restocked accordingly. I looked at the fitness center but preferred to do all of my workouts outdoors. Likewise I checked out the indoor lap pool but didn't jump in for a swim. It is nice to have those options available if the weather is not suitable for walking or running outside, both of which I enjoyed immensely throughout my stay. My room was luxuriously large and included a king size bed, a comfortably spacious bathroom and lots of closet space. It even had a small refrigerator which I made use of. For comfort, convenience and service with a smile, I would happily recommend this hotel to fellow travelers and be happy to return for another stay myself some day.

Yelp
In theory, this seemed like a prime downtown location, but it was a borderline-sketchy neighborhood most of the time. You could walk to the nicer parts of the downtown core, but it's not super close, plus the whole sketchy neighborhood bit... The room was comfortable, maybe a little snug, but mostly just very weirdly laid-out, with a large bathroom that had no sink, a sink in the hallway around the corner (yes, my room had its own hallway) and at the end of the hallway, just a closet. I did appreciate the mini-fridge in the room. The valet-only parking was just an expensive annoyance. Not that they did anything wrong, and I never had to wait more than two or three minutes for my car, but I am perfectly capable of parking myself had there been a self-park option. Not holding this part against them, but they were surrounded by some major construction projects while I was there, and even though my room was pretty high up, the noise was noticeable. I'll try my luck with a different hotel the next time I'm in Toronto.

Yelp
So I've been staying at this Marriot for a couple days now and I have a few things to write about... I will start off by saying I have stayed at plenty of Marriot hotels and I do love them, but this one sort of missed the mark in my opinion. When you walk into the hotel it doesn't feel like one. It doesn't have a welcoming look until you come in further. The entry way needs something to make it more inviting. Another thing to note is the elevators take forever. And I'm not saying that just to complain, I mean they are small elevators and they're always full. I stayed on the 11th floor and I had to let four elevators go because they were all full. When I would come back to the hotel to go upstairs, there was a huge crowd of people waiting to go up. And even when there wasn't anyone waiting... it took the actual elevator forever to get back to the lobby level. There are four elevators, one wasn't working (nbd), but the three that were working were just sitting on other floors and only one was moving. SNAILS PACE might i add. So if you don't have the luxury or energy to take the stairs prepare to wait. I would have loved to take the stairs but 11 floors up is a lot after walking all day. Also, when I booked the hotel, it was pretty much filled to the brim. Which is fine, it's sort of a good spot to get to the good stuff, but the immediate surrounding area is kinda sketchy. If you walk a little bit you can get to more friendlier looking parts. Finally, my biggest problem of all was the fitness center. I know it's lucky they even have one, but they have a ton of equipment and it's all "out of service". I mean why bother have a fitness room if you can't use anything other than the elliptical? There's weights and two other weighted machines, but every treadmill and three other cardio machines were broken. Overall, my room was dusty, the hallways are absolutely freezing, and my stay was average. I'm not saying I wouldn't stay here again, but if I have another option the next time I'm in Toronto this wouldn't be my first choice. P.S. I know my review is mostly negative, but the hotel wasn't terrible. It has breakfast and buffet in the morning, the staff are all nice.. I just think they need to up their game. They have only one luggage trolley and when you call the front desk for things they forget about UPDATE: I've moved my review from a three to a two because this hotel has a lot of construction at 7am on the dot (i know it's not their fault, but the walls are also paper thin). And aside from the construction our neighbors must have had a loud gathering in their room because they were very noisy. And the elevators went from three out of the four working to two. And my final complaint is that the fire alarm went off at 4am. It was not clear when the announcement was made if we should evacuate. It was extremely vague. And then it went off again 30 minutes later saying false alarm. If all these things aren't working and the hotel itself isn't that put together should it be open?

Yelp
We stayed here our second time and this time it did not go as good as previously. The employees seemed to be distracted and not ad friendly as before. I assume it's because of the Pan Am Games 2015. The hotel was at times over crowded, the valet guys seemed to only care about tips and, of course, people who chose valet. Parking per night was $35. There is a parking a block away for just $14 or less (depending on hours). The employees at the check-in were rushing, even having an attitude. We also requested 1 hour late check-out and were denied "due to availability". We finally got 30 min late check out. The thing is that the housekeeping was busy with other rooms! You also get a complimentary drink when checking in on Tuesday but they forgot about it. We had to ask for it (so it's good to know about it!) and, of course, we got it. So that's a plus here. Like I mentioned in my previous review - the location is great! Just steps from subway (College station), 2 subway stops from Eaton Centre, right across from Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Second Cup, Winners and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Yelp
I stayed at the 4th floor. 3 days. Cons: My room was facing the street right over MCD. Tbh the stay wasn't very pleasant. There was so much noise from the construction all day long, got a headache from it. Whoever designed the room obviously doesn't wash hands after using the washroom, the sink is outside the washroom, on the other side of the room. had to walk all the way to wash hands after using the toilet. The temperature of the room was always cold - the heating wasn't working properly. We had alot of luggage, we had to ask a few times to get somebody to get us a trolley. Btw didn't appreciate rolling the trolley ourselves - nobody bothered to help, we had to drag that all the way to the 4th floor. Pro: We called the service desk wondering if there was any microwave in the vicinity. To our pleasant surprise somebody showed up at our door with a microwave! (Within 5 mins) highly appreciated. Good location for food and TTC. I would say honestly pick a different hotel. I have stayed at few Marriotts. This one has been the worst.

Yelp
Meh, it's an okay place. Definitely central to what's going on downtown, so location is a huge plus! We had a complimentary room thanks to credit card points and were upgraded to a suite because they didn't have any regular rooms available on the day we came in. There is valet parking at the hotel for $35 per night (ouch!) with in and out privileges for guests at the hotel. Our suite was definitely on the outdated side. The couch in the living room was probably one of the most uncomfortable couches I've ever had the fortune to sit on. No complimentary bottled water in the room (I almost come to expect that these days). The bedroom with the large king bed and a TV was nice. We had a good night's sleep there, which is I guess what really matters. Wifi worked too (and so did Netflix, although Canadian Netflix is disappointing) so that's a plus. The folks at the front desk were nice and overall we had a pleasant OK stay. They were super accommodating when I asked for a late 1pm checkout and I got a chance to swim some laps in the pool (the jacuzzi was nice too). 3.5 stars given all this (especially since the room was booked using rewards). If you get a good deal, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Yelp
Good location. Just kept wondering what this hotel was before it became a Courtyard. It just doesn't seem like one. The bathroom was bizarre. Huge open space between the sink and the toilet. But the toilet is only a few inches from the tub. And the tub/shower is the end of the room. (Also a very small sink stand)

Yelp
Clean and decent hotel in the mid city. The rooms are half decent and worth the stay. The buffet is way over priced for what it is. Order off them menu or grab from a coffee house close by

Yelp
BEWARE: CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! I began this review at a 4.5, and was wavering where to go. Now, it's a 1 STAR. I will start by saying that I did the "advanced prepayment rate". Although I was a little upset that the advertised rate only applied to Friday night (not SAT night), the extra $8.00 UPCHARGE didn't break my bank account. Although not receiving an email verification of my confirmation number, did distress me a little... I figured, new country... new rules... not gonna worry about it. When I pulled up (around midnight) the valet was wonderful. There were several people there, but enough staff to accommodate the vehicles. Although some International Clients were having a difficult time, our process was a breeze. For an extra $6.00/ night (not an additional $35.00 which they charged me) it seemed like a great deal. Check-in was a breeze. In our reservation we requested high floors, and a refrigerator. Both were accommodated with a nice view. Although it was the "North Tower" or "Ghetto Tower" we didn't have any problems. The room was spacious, the view was great, the room was clean. There was a street festival, the concierge guided us to a wonderful watering hole, Dundas Square was within Walking Distance, and the subway was close! Everything was going pretty well. Now... Let's discuss why we went from a 4.5 to 1 STAR rating. First, I'm a Platinum Marriot Rewards member with over 600,000 points, and 200+ stays. I'm aware I'm supposed to receive a confirmation. But as I said, no big deal. Second, the $8.00 UPCHARGE on the room. It rubbed me the wrong way, but wasn't going to break the bank... didn't worry about it. Third, I was charged for an "Extra Night" parking (That's an Additional $40CAD). I wouldn't have looked, but my ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT sure did! Things are beginning to feel fishy. Fourth, when I logged into Marriott.com my reservation information had been changed to show me staying for only one night... although they charged me for 2 nights... and my receipt said I had stayed 2 nights... getting fishier! Finally, the process that led me to now. On the receipt, is the General Manager's name, phone number and email address. When I called, the GM was out of town, and left instructions to speak with his Assistant. I pressed (0) to be connected, and I was connected with the front desk. The person rudely told me I didn't need to speak with management, it was an accounting issue. I said Great, please connect me. He said he would have to look into my "story" and would call me back. I received an email a few hours later saying the reservations had been correct, and the parking fee had been removed. REALLY? No "I'm sorry"? No "Please forgive us"? No "we apologize for the oversight, it won't happen again". NO.. I was made to feel like I was making it up...and I had offended the worker who had to take time out of his day to "look into my story". Most Marriotts will throw 10,000 points because the soup is cold. All I get is attitude from someone who was offended when I CAUGHT THEM STEALING from me! Therefore: YOU GAVE ME 1 STAR SERVICE, and I feel my review should reflect that!

Yelp
Caught an early flight in and luckily was able to check in before the scheduled time with no issues. The lobby was setup nicely and there was some free water put out for everyone which was a nice added touch after a long trip. I will say there are some odd chair/table setups randomly places around the main floors so I guess if your SO is driving you nuts you have plenty of options on places to hide and sit? The actual room was super clean, bed very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly! Coming from NY/NJ the lady at the front desk made me feel like I was on vacation even though I was there just for a short weekend. I heard Canadians were nice but this was very much appreciated! There are plenty of spots to check out in the area, all within walking distance and the food in the area was delicious. Our departure time was pretty late but we were able to store our bags there for the day while we went exploring which was super convenient and quick to retrieve. Overall if you're looking for a comfortable spot in a good location I'd recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
I think in about one years time this hotel will be really nice, but based on my stay last week, I have to go with three stars. The hotel has a number of things working in its favor: the location is great right off of Yonge Street, the lobby is gorgeous, the staff is super helpful, and perhaps most importantly, the hotel has started gutting and renovating all the guest rooms 3 floors at a time staring with the north tower. They also have a zero noise tolerance policy that keeps the bleed through noise from other guest rooms to a minimum. However, as of December 2015, the renovations are not complete and the rooms are downright run down. We're taking Courtyard by Marriott styling from 20 years ago with the brass wall lamps; tar-stained yellow lap shades from before they went smoke free, extremely dated bathrooms with separate shower/toilet from the sink, peeling wallpaper, air conditioners with the panel broken off, and super hard mattresses that probably belong in the landfill. I was also bummed that they do not use Marriott's signature pillows at this location. The pool area also leaves a lot to be desired, with the pool desperately in need of refinishing, a hot tub that's not quite hot enough, broken music system, and dead light bulbs everywhere. They also recently closed their restaurant, so the only food choice is their bar area that also serves sandwiches and Starbucks coffee. Thankfully there's dozens of places to go within a few minutes walk, so not the end of the world. Looking forward to another visit in a years time to see the progress and improvement. I would love to replace this review with one that has five stars.

Yelp
Total dump of a Marriott. First room (north tower) had a stench bettered by Yonge Street itself as the room smelled of fresh urine. Moved rooms to south tower (much better room) with a clunky AC and on the floor leaking shower fixture. Went for ice and only could find dirty tile and dust; had to go two floors up to find an ice machine. While the location is pretty good and most of the staff were super nice, go somewhere else if you want a relaxing and peaceful slumber.

Yelp
The updates to the hotel are amazing. Modernized yet comfortable rooms. Small bistro downstairs where you can grab some drinks, coffee or a quick breakfast. The best part about this hotel is the location. A block away from Church Street and lots of restaurants. Very easy to access public transportation or just walk around. The parking here is the only downfall. Valet (with come and go privileges thankfully) is $35. Not cheap. It would be very convenient if they weren't so slow. One evening when we were starving and anxious to get to our restaurant, we waited 45 minutes for our car. I don't know what happened but staff was extremely apologetic. So much so that they comped the fee. A very nice gesture. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience I had here. I was able to check in early but had an issue with my room and the Customer Service rep did all she could to help me. Kudos to her and her manager! I would have had a great time regardless at this hotel but the way they handled my request and situation was spectacular. I come from the customer service industry and they went above and beyond. The room was super clean and lovely. Spacious with fluffy sheets and pillows. The only issue I had was the hallway in my room was wet for some reason so I had to put a towel down to soak it up but it wasn't a deal breaker. The price for the my double queen bed suite was very fair for the area we were in. I did not choose to use the valet parking though as I did not want to pay $45 but I parked in the garage across the street (it had a steep entrance going uphill). It was only $18 for the day and would be less depending on when you wanted to leave (I only had to pay $8.85).

Yelp
Good location in downtown Toronto and that outweighed the negatives. It's a large Courtyard, so didn't seem very welcoming. Rooms were kinda small. Some drunk guy tried getting in our room early in the AM; told the front desk and they seemed to take care of things quickly. I'd consider staying there again actually, mostly becuase of location.

Yelp
Great location and breakfast. Rooms were clean and quiet. What more do you want from a hotel? Negative- The main negative at the hotel was the entrance/exit, which was around the corner from the main street. This made entering the building at night awkward since you had to walk around the block. Just seemed odd. Also, parking seemed higher than you would expect. Positives- Like I said, the location was near a lot of great restaurants and shops. It was also near a metro and a hop on hop off bus. Plus the breakfast could feed you for a day.

Yelp
booked a last minute stay for a mon & tues on my marriott bonvoy mobile app which was easy. check in smooth, but when we went into the room, one of the mattresses had a yellow stain. we call front desk and they sent in housekeeping w/what appears to be manager in a suit. he assisted immediately with changing the sheets, took pictures and apologized. during our stay we didn't have need for parking. the gym was decent and quiet w/bottled water on all machines (nice touch). didn't have a chance to hit their restaurant. due personal matter we had to extend our room for weds. it was easily done by visiting front desk. then the stay extended thurs & fri w/no issues, however the prices can wildly vary every day. on our 3rd day, we were advised their continental breakfast for silver marriott bonvoy members was starting up again after a 3 yr hiatus. son from weds-sat am. we enjoyed a comp breakfast which consisisted for juice, coffees, various pastries, fruit, oatmeals, etc which saved us a bit of money, which really helped considering the nightly room prices. the area has lots of restaurants to visit, however the main street (Yonge) unfortunately has too many homeless who think they own the street. during night time, it's best to be on one's guard.

Yelp
Enjoyed my hotel & view, not much to look at but it was convenient & not too far from some hot shots. We Uber'd a lot but they have a convenient public transportation system.

Yelp
Decided to stay at this hotel because we attended Drake's concert last night. The location is amazing, it's close to many places and it's all a walking distance. The view from the balcony is okay, we were able to see the CN tower but it wasn't amazing due to the construction right in front of the hotel. We stayed for one night and stayed in the south tower. I hated the lay out of the room. We got a corner room king suite. When you walk in, on your left there was a washroom with only a toilet and shower. Then you walk a bit, it's a small kitchenette with a fridge and countertop. Walk a bit more it's the sink with a mirror (hate how the sink is so far from the washroom), with a closet. Finally you walk into the bedroom with the balcony. The layout wasn't great, even though they recently renovated. The hot water was horrible. It would go then come back, especially if one person showered, the second person wouldn't get the hot water. They said free wifi, however the wifi worked on ONE device for about 5 minutes and stopped. Yet it says it's supposed to work for up to 6 devices? All in all, the hotel was clean, the location was nice, however the room layout, hot water and wifi were an issue (which sucks because those are some of the main things).

Yelp
I'm torn between giving this hotel a 2 or 3 star review. As a happy Marriott rewards member who stays at Marriott properties everywhere 90% of the time, I was definitely disappointed in this one. I realize every hotel has it's time for minor and major updating, but this one seems like it's well overdue. The good aspects were the valet/parking attendant (not the cost which is typically high for a mid-city property). He was really helpful to take care of the car and bags. The front desk staff were nice, but IMO didn't seem really thrilled to be working there. I had read that the lobby recently was redone and it was okay. Nothing spectacular. The rest of the hotel was in need of a major updating. From the hallways to the elevator to the rooms, you can see so much wear and tear...from the wood trim to the walls, etc. Fortunately, even amidst the need for a redo, they do keep this place very clean. Having been in Toronto many times before, I knew this location was central to the touristy area. It was not my favorite location, but had a free night there based on a Marriott promotion.

Yelp
Update: renovations went AMAZING! Hotel looks brand new. Constantine at the front desk remembers me and treats me like the princess I think I am ;). I use this hotel as my main access point to the city. I've tried other hotels nearby but I keep coming back here for a reason. Had a great stay here. Right in the center of the city and easy access to the universities and hospitals. Staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. Workout room was very nice with lots of cardio machines and free weights. There was a bit of construction nearby the hotel but it didn't disturb my sleep. The lobby is nice but the rooms are a bit older. Everything was in working order though. I would be happy to stay here again.

Yelp
Solid room, nice lobby, friendly staff, FREE WIFI. It's free. Automatic 5 stars for this place. I have yet to try their restaurant but it looks like it's priced reasonably and looks pretty solid. Also, very convenient location for this hotel. Please note I was in the south tower and I see lots of complaints about the north tower on here..

Yelp
Exceptional Courtyard property. Situated just a several blocks North of the Eaton Center the Courtyard provides a quieter more neighborhoody feel. I was a bit concerned when I stayed here because I am use to staying in the immediate downtown area (at/near CN tower or near the lake), but for this trip I could not have stayed at a better hotel. The staff was kind and accommodating and without a doubt recognize platinum elites. The hotel also has an onsite cafe which serves small bites, but is not open all night. If you are LGBTQ, the hotel is just around the corner from the gay village.

Yelp
This review is for the cafe style restaurant of the hotel. The food is awesome and was is also a pleasant surprise is the service. It's set up Starbucks style so you think every time you need something - food or more wine - you need to go to the counter. Not here. Candice and I wish I could remember the service was last night, have been awesome.

Yelp
The location of this hotel being right in downtown Toronto is perfect! The room was very updated, clean, and comfortable. All staff was extremely kind and accommodating. The valet parking is convenient and efficient. Absolutely no complaints here!

Yelp
Great place to stay downtown - great location and near everything like pharmacy, coffee shops, public transportation, groceries and shopping mall.

Yelp
My wife stayed here with some of her family. Location is fantastic. The hotel is pretty clean as well. The elevators are very very slow as others have alluded to but the room was very clean. Service was very friendly as well and the rate was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Love that it's in the downtown area with so so many food places surrounded by the hotel. Everything is walking distance to me. Hot chocolate in the check in area on those cold winter days. I don't like how the refrigerators are here. The temperature knob seems like it's broken. It's not cold enough even if I try to turn the actual turning thing. The last time I stayed here I had a bigger better one, but that room was almost much bigger with the balcony. Not complaining! Life is always great when you get to travel.
