Nice place. The staff is friendly and professional. We arrived at 6:00 a.m. and they decided to turn the country music on, just slightly too high. The waitress did accommodate my request that was not on the breakfast menu. Fruits. That was nice. My wife ordered the pancake short stack. And she only could eat a 1/4 of it. Be ready, the portions are huge! Much like it was in the 90's. The whole place feels like the 90's. It's clean. Overall, a nice place. Glad we stopped at the hotel there.

We loved this place. When we travel, we are searching for a unique one of a kind place to eat. This place was spectacular. From the famous giant cinnamon rolls to the decor, it is definitely one of a kind. If you are anywhere near the north west, plan to stop here. PS, the food is really really good here.

This country diner is has nice setup. Their country fried steak is perfect—crispy and golden on the outside, with tender, juicy inside. They used good quality hamburger meat. Paired with eggs cooked just the way you like and golden, crispy hash browns, it’s a hearty, satisfying meal. The prices are very reasonable, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere gives off classic all-American farming town vibe.

I liked that they gave you a little carafe of coffee. My chicken and waffles were dry. The chicken tasted overcooked. The syrup was watery. My husband enjoyed his breakfast, country fried steak, and eggs.

Atmosphere is fun. Love the country style. Service was pretty good. I got the Chicken & Waffles and it was a disappointment. The waffle was warm, so it had clearly been sitting for a few minutes. No butter. The chicken is not great, and not like the picture at all. One piece of a clearly cheap frozen chicken fillet that’s not that good. This is a terrible Chicken and Waffle, yes, the dish is exactly the name. However, for such a country restaurant, I thought they would at least know how to fry up some chicken for some real Chicken and Waffles. I would not recommend coming here for Chicken and Waffles.

Where do I start… from the entry and seating to the food and service, it was all great and above and beyond. So let me tell you about my “Cousin Jenny” (server) she was just amazing. Extremely welcoming and attentive. Made it hard to leave. I ordered the chicken pot pie 🥧 for lunch with a side salad. Which is exactly what brought me in as I had never been just passed on by so many times throughout the years. There salad was well, a salad! The pot pie though OMG! The crust was so perfect 👌 flakey and flavorful. The chicken, cream, veggies were so rich in flavor, hands down the best I ever had. Now for dessert 🍨 the apple pie 🥧 caught my eye. Let’s just say the crust has me just at aww. Wasn’t very sweet, paired so well with the vanilla ice cream and coffee. I will now be stopping every chance I get when in the area. Thank you Cousins! Hope this review helps y’all make up your mind if you’re thinking of where to eat.

After many trips along the I84 between Portland and Boise, we decided to try Cousins. It is fun to look at and the staff was very friendly 😀. We got a bowl of the bean and sausage soup 🍲 and the BBQ chicken salad and split both. They were good comfort food and feeled us up. We did, however, get a giant cinnamon roll to take home, and it was delicious 😋. Overall, it's just plain good eating cousin. Maybe we'll see you next time through.

What can I say Cousins is just awesome! To their food, their service, their atmosphere, drinks, desserts... the list goes on. It's my go-to place! For a good ol' sandwhich or crisp salad and a drink in the summertime. To some hot chocolate and pancakes for breakfast, or some yummy hot pot roast for dinner in the winter. You can't go wrong! It really does feel like home and feels like family! I've got to know a lot of employees there over my time, and everyone is just wonderful. I'm so happy my little hometown of The Dalles has something like this. It's my little piece of happiness here at Cousins. 😊
