I bought my first ‘real’ Japanese knife from Coutelier Nola, a Fujiwara maboroshi gyuto, a few years ago after seeing a Bon Appétit notable buy a Takeda from them at a Philly trade show. Then I bought a Saji rainbow bunka (drool). Then a Kurosaki petty. Pasta tools, magnetic knife boards, spoons, cookbooks: all from Coutelier. To be honest, I even got two Gestura spoons for Christmas this year as gifts, both bought here — keeping them both. If you have a kitchen and spend any amount of time in it, you should be shopping at Coutelier Nola. I live hundreds of miles away from both of their brick and mortars, but the customer service and personalized “thank you’s” in every package make it feel like they’re my neighborhood knife shop (if only I could be so lucky). Thank you guys for bringing such an amazing inventory to your consumers, from professional chefs to home cooks and enthusiasts like myself — much love ✌🏼
