Cove - Cannon Street, The City

This was the worst accommodation experience I’ve had across all the countries I’ve traveled to, and the first time I have ever written a negative hotel review. We stayed for four nights, and something went wrong every single night. Facilities We booked a studio apartment, but at check-in were assigned a room that required walking outdoors to a different building. The corridor light outside the room was broken, making the hallway extremely dark. Inside the room, we found that the coffee pot still contained old, foul-smelling residue. After requesting a room change, we were told we would be moved to a “better room.” Instead, we were relocated to a much smaller room with no living area at all, yet were told the price was the same. The second room also had a broken spotlight and a blanket with visible stains (possibly coffee or blood). The hotel promised to resolve the issue the next day, but never contacted us. Service Service was extremely poor, with clear internal communication issues. When we reported that the microwave and stove were not working, staff the next day said they had not been informed because they were not on duty. The hotel only provides weekly cleaning. We repeatedly requested tissues and were initially told none were available, only for them to suddenly appear two days later. One night around 10 p.m., when we requested tissues again, staff said they didn’t know if or when they could deliver them, and suggested we come down to the front desk ourselves if we didn’t want to wait. Aside from its convenient location, there is nothing positive to recommend about this hotel. We reported the issues to Ctrip, but the hotel never responded. During the New Year period, we paid nearly £400 per night (around 4,000 RMB) for a stay that was a complete disappointment. We also overheard other guests complaining about non-functioning facilities. Strongly not recommended. (Note: I am an international student traveling with a U.S. native English speaker—there were no language or communication issues on our side.)

This is a great property that is an ideal mix of a hotel and an apartment. It’s set up like an apartment but operated as a hotel. It’s super comfortable and the apartment has everything you will need (including utensils, toiletries, towels, cooking tools). If you ever need anything you can contact the WhatsApp number and someone will get back to you right away. The staff is very responsive, no matter what time it is. We also love the neighborhood because it’s centrally located. This is our favorite place to stay when we are visiting London for a long stay.

I stayed here for four nights on a recent work trip and it was a fantastic base in the city. I was really impressed with the apartment; it was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities mentioned in the listing. It even had a washing machine which is rare in apartments in London. The biggest surprise was the size – I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so spacious, especially for a place right in the heart of central London. The staff were very friendly. I had a late check-in and the gentleman on reception was brilliant, taking the time to explain everything very clearly which was much appreciated. The location is absolutely perfect. It was only a 10-minute walk to my office, but it would also be ideal for tourists. You're about a 10-minute walk from London Bridge and other key sights. The transport connections are amazing, with Bank station just a 2-minute walk away, which can get you almost anywhere you need to go. There are also lots of great pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. The only slight issue I had was being able to hear the trains running underneath, but my apartment was on the first floor so that might be why. It's a pretty normal sound for London and it didn't really bother from second night. Overall, a brilliant stay. I would definitely recommend it and would happily book here again for my next trip.

Great hotel in the hart of the City of London. Location is amazing- 20 meters from the underground station and in central location for many buses, plenty of restaurants & coffee places around . The hotel itself has nice apartments, warm and clean. The staff was helpful in everything we asked

As always excellent stay. It’s very convenient location. I wish they would provide slightly better accessories like less diluted soaps, refill the coffee/ creamer every day. Small things but they do matter. May be we should have asked for them ( which we didn’t )

Really do not recommend. The windows are TINY and hardly open. The rooms do not even remotely look like the photos on the booking. Rooms are dark and poorly cleaned. Our room smelt of sewage and was not clean, the shower was broken so the floor was very quickly covered in water. Some staff were lovely, but others clearly did not want to be there and were irritated by basic questions. There are stairs to get to the rooms, so you need to carry your suitcase up and down.

Excellent stay. The COVE was very accommodating to any need, such a bag drop off, and wanting more tea and coffee for the room. With three tube stops within minutes walk of the hotel and plenty of amenities around, it was the perfect stay in London!

Overall good stay in Cove. This is our second stay and really nice place to stay even if pricey. Good location especially coming from London City Airport. They provided a cot and high chair for my son which is so handy. ||Mattress in room G02 needs to be replaced.
