We went out to see the lighthouse and even though google said it open, it was gated closed. We also would have liked to see the beach area but all the roads to beach access had private property, no trespassing signs. We asked a resident that was out about public access and he wasn’t very nice, saying there was no access cause residents pay for the roads.

Beautiful lighthouse, near Solomons Island. You can learn about lighthouse's history by video(It is showing during the visit hours). You can also ring the big bell too. But can't go up to the Lighthouse. It was really fun for the whole family. We went for Mother's Day outing, and one of the staff gave me a free lighthouse earnings for Mother's Day gift. One of the ladies gave me a shark tooth as a souvenir as well. Thank you so much.

This is a beautiful lighthouse - nearly 200 years old! Sweeping views of the bay and Calvert Cliffs. Limited access hours of only 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday so plan ahead if you want to visit. There are lots of signs posted around the property with facts and history. The base of the lighthouse is open but you can't climb up in it. No beach access.

Amazing unique place for an overnight stay. Stayed here as part of a wedding party who booked the lighthouse keeper's residence on AirBnB. Super unique residence with a ton of space in different sleeping options. Easy beach access. Nice small museum open for a few hours on the weekend that's great to visit as well.

Nice place. Wonderful staff! The 5 minute video was very informative. Alot of history at this little place. We enjoyed our visit.

Nice place to stop in. Very peaceful, the gentlemen working was very friendly and knowledgeable, took out picture. Nice 2 seat rocker. Bummer that you can't go up in the lighthouse. You don't need much time but a must see.

Private Property!! Cannot Visit!! check hours before arriving. Very disappointed. I drove to and spent the day in Solomons. After hiking in Calvert Cliff State Park, I stopped by this lighthouse to take some pictures. I was greeted by a set of locked gates with signs indicated that it the private property. For some reasons, I didn't see this info online. It looks like you can only walk the grounds and enter during operating hours. Most lighthouse I visited keep the ground open during day light and special hours for tours.
