I'm parked on a winery patio next to The Cove, nursing a glass of something bold while my wife disappears into what I can only assume is a portal to fashion nirvana. I don't question it. She emerges happy, and that's all that matters.
But here's the thing--The Cove isn't just another beach-town boutique. It's an anomaly. A lone wolf. A place that, by all rights, should be in a hip LA district or some high priced shopping mecca, not wedged between surf shops and dime-a-dozen fast fashion joints. Yet, here it stands, holding its own.
I don't pretend to understand women's casual fashion, but even I can recognize quality when I see it. High-end labels. Carefully curated pieces. Stuff that doesn't scream "I bought this off a clearance rack at a strip mall." This is where the sharp-dressed, boho-chic crowd comes to play.
A word to the wise: if you see something you like, buy it. Boutique shopping is a cruel mistress--wait too long, and that perfect piece will be gone, never to return. (Discovered on more than one occasion)
So if you (or your better half) have a taste for fashion that's actually worth the price tag, The Cove is the move.
Me? I'll be next door at the winery next door.
