We had our first trip to Cow and Sow this evening for my husband’s birthday, and had a lovely experience. We ordered a sharer steak, which we thought was good value and was cooked to perfection. The bone marrow butter was divine, and a perfect peppercorn sauce. For sides as had the hispi cabbage and dauphinois. The sharer steaks take around 49 mins, so we also had some pork belly whilst we waited, which was delicious. We’d like to give a special mention to our waitress Becks, who was lovely, and was both attentive, but gave us the space to enjoy our meal. She also told us about a wine deal they had on which saved us nearly £20 on our bill, so very thankful for that. They also gave my husband a special glass of fizz as it was his birthday. We’ll be back!

I find that steakhouses can be underwhelming, and this wasn’t an exception. To start on a positive note, the chips, alongside the oxtail croquettes, were amazing !!!! Both the stars of the show. The other sides we ordered, Mac and cheese, broccoli gratin and the sauces were also good. The caramel tart dessert was 10/10. On the other hand, the pork belly starter was not good. The meat was very dry and there was a ‘crispy’ layer sprinkled on top but whatever this was did nothing for the dish, it seemed like it was just hard pieces that were hard to chew and not crispy at all. My partner and I both ordered medium rare ribeye, unfortunately my steak was overcooked a level or two above his despite us ordering the exact same. As I usually order, rare but the waiter recommend I had medium rare due to the type of steak, this was quite disappointing. The service was also rather disappointing as we did not receive adequate attention or care throughout our meal, with dirty dishes left on our table for a while. This is not something I would usually complain about however the restaurant was quite empty at this point. Our dessert was also forgotten about for over half an hour. Side note- I went to use the bathroom and when pulling up the lid the entire seat fell clean off on to the floor… I just think for a restaurant as expensive and prestigious certain standards should be upheld.

Had a lovely birthday meal for my dad here. The servers were friendly and go out of their way to provide 10/10 service. They overheard us mentioning his birthday and surprised him with a birthday plate without us asking. It was very sweet of them to do. The food was great - one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I recommend the onion blossom!

I was travelling for work and managed to get a same evening booking on a Monday. I was seated by Marius, and looked after by Beca and Jamie. Becs recommended me a wine based on my taste which was lovely. I had the cow and sow Malbec, which paired brilliantly with my steak. The chips in beef dripping are not to be missed. Loved the music and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning.

Wow! So good! Came here for a birthday dinner and had the best time. I’d highly recommend. The food was impeccable, my partner is a vegetarian and had the most amazing dining experience, we usually spend our time in restaurants talking and talking but we were totally silent for about half an hour as we ate. Everything was incredibly delicious, my fillet steak was to die for! However, our favourite part was the incredible service. From the minute we stepped in the hostess was welcoming and friendly, she was so lovely and set a high standard of high quality. Our waitress Meg was incredible. She was very kind and friendly, she really made the night for us. A big thanks to all the staff working tonight, especially the woman who recommended our wine, as they truly made the experience wonderful. We will definitely be back! The staff really do work hard and it shows, everyone was so so lovely. If you’re in the Clifton area PLEASE go to this restaurant you won’t regret it. 10/10

Very enjoyable Sunday lunch was had, good service, good wine offering, down side for me was the choice of one draught beer, (purely personal - IPA preferably!). As far as the food, roast beef and veg was top quality, a third slice of beef would have been the icing on the cake. We will be back for a steak.

Amazing place for an exceptional meal. Staff all fantastic. We was celebrating our son’s graduation 👨‍🎓 he received a glass of bubbly on arrival. Lovely atmosphere very busy which is good to see. Chef is amazing!! best steak cooked to perfection . We had the porterhouse for 2. Taste amazing and we are a family of butchers so we know our meat. Highly recommend this place. 5 stars from us
