I had the best time here and was so surprised because I didn't know what to expect. It was just one fun activity to another watching different performances from both male and female performers. The stadium is very clean and well organized and has plenty of food vendors. The only difficulty I had was parking. I paid in advance and could not find the parking spot. So I parked somewhere and paid for it. Parking is a bit expensive.

We had an amazing time at Cowtown Coliseum watching the Rodeo Championship in the Stockyards! The whole experience felt authentic and exciting — a true taste of cowboy culture. There were many different events, from bull riding and barrel racing to team roping and bronc riding. Each one brought its own level of excitement, and you could really feel the energy in the arena. The riders were skilled, the animals were powerful, and the crowd was super engaged. It was thrilling and entertaining from start to finish. The venue itself also has a historic charm that adds to the experience. If you want to enjoy a genuine Texas rodeo, this is the place to go!

Had a brilliant time watching the rodeo here at cowtown! Very spacious & comfortable venue with conveniently located bars & confectionery stands. They really put a lot of work into keeping this place fantastic! Cannot recommend people enough to visit & I cannot wait to visit myself again. Thank you for a perfect experience cowtown!!

Great experience and my daughter's first rodeo. Awesome staff and very helpful finding seats. Lots of action with a great announcer. We sat in the B section and the seats were great for seeing the action behind the chutes and as they bullriders came out. The pretzels were good but skip the bbq sandwiches. Lots of drink options inside and out of the coliseum. Nice area to also walk around before or after the events.

Google
Great show! Bullriding, pole races, barrel racing and tie down roping. They really make it entertaining with music and pyrotechnics. Jack and coke came with a cute rodeo coozy. Seats were perfect. They also have vip upstairs and directly in front with bar service. We had lots of fun!

Google
The Coliseum puts on a wonderful show. This was the highlight of our week long trip to Texas. The Friday night began in patriotic fashion, which was a breath of fresh air. The prayer at the beginning was God honoring, something most bigger events shy away from for the sake of not offending. So, I am thankful the Coliseum stands firm and has not gone woke. The event was amazing, our family enjoyed every moment of it. It is a must see and worth the travel.

Google
Great way to spend a couple hours while at the Stock Yards. Small venue, not a bad seat in the whole place. Seeing a rodeo or bull riding is a must at this place. We took our toddlers and they had a blast. Very entertaining and engaging.

Google
Purchase tickets on the spot before the rodeo every Friday and Saturday night. Plenty of places to sit down and relax before the show, grab something to drink and take in the scenery. Lots of shops around. Family friendly environment. 5/5 can't miss it.

Yelp
Husband and I always take our out-of-towners here for a real Texas experience. We've been here about 5 times now and each time we were sitting in different locations, including the VIP area with their own bar and restrooms. If you want to really enjoy the action, I would suggest sitting at one of the regular seats. Try to get a spot in the middle of the arena. Also, maybe not too close to the front because I saw someone get hit with some dirt one of the times we went. If you want to relax and have a nice restroom to go to and your own bar, I would definitely recommend the VIP area overlooking the bucking chutes. You also get a photo op if you do the all-inclusive. The all-inclusive includes drinks! On our last visit with the VIP pass, we were lost on where to go to enter because we heard conflicting things from different people, which had us walking around outside and inside. At least we got our steps in. Everyone we encountered were super nice and helpful to try to get us to the premium section. 100% would come here again if we have visitors from out of town.

Yelp
We been on a tour here and also attended one of the rodeo events held weekly during part of the year. The venue is very kitschy and cool and a very comfortable place to view events. The seating is very good and we enjoyed watching the ride so. They are friendly and also have plenty of good eats and drinks to choose from! The cost of the events are also reasonable IMO.

Yelp
Just left the Bill Pickett Rodeo and had a blast. The coliseum is small which makes every seat a good seat. Are a bbq chopped pork sandwich and it was pretty good and no more than I would have paid at a restaurant. We had a great time!

Yelp
This was in fact my First Rodeo. Now I am not from a place that does Rodeos, this was a whole different amount of culture and atmosphere then I expected. This is truly some peoples life! And I get it, the showman ship and atmosphere was in fact entertaining. The show started with LOUD indoor pyrotechnics of some sort, startling but the horses were not bothered so neither should I be. There was a LONG US propaganda-esque and religious themed intro, which in Texas I understand but it was very jarring and abnormal to me. That said, the woman who rode the galloping horse around the arena for the entirety of the national anthem with a large flag in one hand, congrats. The core and arm strength of her is commendable. After that, the show was amazing. The athletes and animals created a great watching experience that had me fully enthralled. I know the big show is the bull riding, but to me the bucking Broncos was where it is really at. I was up in the Cowboy Corner section, I say its worth it to spend a bit more for nicer seats higher up that allow a good view and more spacious seating. As well as your own Bar. We also got a good view of the cowgirls and boys prepping the animals and themselves for each round. I enjoyed this as I am the type to want to know all the details and set up stuff that bored many others. Snacks were ok, basic stadium food. There was a taco section I didn't get to but that looked a step above the rest of the concessions for sure. Staff was very kind and efficient at the concessions as well as helping to navigate around the coliseum. I cannot applaud all the athletes and performers more, from the support rescue staff that get the riders off and away from the animal safely, as well as guide the animal back safely. To the barrel racers, calf wranglers, All the way to the Rodeo clowns, why someone sees an angry bull and thinks, hey I wanna run upto that and touch its face for funsies, is beyond me. But its amazing to see. Plus the lasso act, I mean wow, I still don't believe my eyes, his skill was magical to say the least. They also had an intermission that had kids games to get the young audience involved directly which was very sweet. Bathrooms are spread enough to allow everyone use even in these busy times. Well worth the experience, I will seek out another show next time Im neat a rodeo, especially if I am at the Cowtown Coliseum again.

Yelp
A trip to Fort Worth isn't complete without checking out an event at the Cowtown Coliseum. While the building is an older design/set up, its rustic vibe is perfect for the gateway to the west and picturing cowboys around every bend. We went to a rodeo this visit. The venue is on the smaller side of other rodeo arenas we've checked out in DFW. You definitely feel like you are a part of the action, but there appeared to be fewer rodeo participants and events (which may not be bad if you are mindful of how much time you want to spend). We ate dinner at a nearby restaurant so we were partaking only in their beverage concessions. The servers did a great job of keeping the lines moving and the canned items were cold...the perfect thing for a warm Texas night!

Yelp
I visited Fort Worth on a Thursday, and while walking around, I noticed Cowtown Coliseum was having Professional Bull Riding that night. I was able to go to the ticket booth out front and purchase 2 tickets for the front box seats. This cost about $140 for the day of, but it is a little cheaper if you were to purchase online before the day of the event. The lady who assisted us at the window was so helpful. We arrived back later for the show. There were local colleges in the front passing out merch and free ice cream. We were taken to our seats by staff, and this was such a smooth process. The seats were great, and I liked that we were close to the side where the bulls came running out. The show was great. The Coliseum was large and grand. The videoing of the show made it easy to see. I recommend it when in Fort Worth to make this a stop on your trip.

Yelp
This was my first rodeo, and I was thrilled, amazed, and moved by the show that Cowtown Coliseum put on. We were there on a Friday night, and there was so much to see: bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and bronco riding. The show opened with a thirteen-year-old girl who sang an awe-inspiring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and also sang Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (RIP, Toby Keith -- you are much loved and missed). I was moved by the fact that the introduction to the rodeo included prayer for a safe and joyful event. These horses are animals of valor and strength. They stole the show. Without them, there would be NO show. Their speed, their agility, their willingness to work so closely with their riders -- I was riveted to their beauty. Patriotic, skilled, talented. These people, both men and women, are in a class of their own, with bravery and abilities that deserve the highest caliber of respect. The rodeo clowns kept riders safe -- what a job! I was on the edge of my seat watching them. The adorable 9-year-old boy whose job it was to get the crowd going did just that. What a great kid. The Cowtown Coliseum embodies everything I love about Texas and country: strength, skill, American pride, faith, teamwork, bravery, and a can-do attitude. Hats off to the people who gave so much thrill to the crowd at this rodeo.

Yelp
The history this coliseum holds!! The number of legends that have come out of this place, where rodeo experiences began, and PBR was created. I just love the history of it all. Now, do be warned, the strong smell of livestock will impact you as soon as you walk in! But everything is organized and well kept. Bathrooms are a smidge outdated, but I mean, it is a 100+ year old building hahahaha They have concessions available for food purchase, and bartenders on the side .
google avatar

Kristi W.

Yelp
You shouldn't go to TX without catching a rodeo! All the seats are pretty good, some of the higher up sections have poles that kind of block your view, so be careful when you pick your seats. We saw a variety of roping and barrel racing performances. There are snacks and beverages available to purchase. It's a bit cold in here, even in Sept., so you might want to wear long sleeves or bring a sweater. We had a great evening here.

Yelp
We had big fun at the rodeo! Great crowd and super showmanship. Really glad we went while we were in Ft Worth for a family wedding!

Yelp
We are in Ft Worth for the day and night doing touristy stuff. I booked tickets a few days ahead of time online. I was in section F, row 2. Although these are good seats for calf roping and team roping, they were a little far away from bull riding. The arena was built in 1908 and is historic and shows its age. The rodeo itself was full of new talent or amateurs. Such as only 2 men could ride the bull 8 seconds, missed roping of the calves, barrell racers knocking down barrels, etc. I was actually cheering when the calfs run off without getting roped. They have "God bless the USA" song, a prayer, and star spangled banner at the beginning. There were 2 events where kids chase a calf and sheep to remove a scarf. Cowboys in Affliction shirts, you get the drift. Bathroom line was super long so I skipped. They only take credit cards at concessions, no cash. Water was $5 a bottle. I'm from out of state, so probably won't be back. It was fun regardless. Review 5 in 2025.

Yelp
Awesome experience!! First time being here and we had a blast. We did not purchase any food so can't rate that but the service was great when the usher showed us to our seats and the ambience was fun. I was excited and loved the show.
google avatar

Brian Q.

Yelp
Great experi nice for my first rodeo! Came on a Saturday night and great tickets and good pricing. Super close to the entrance where the cowboys and cowgirls come in and love every minute. They had bull riding, bronco riding, roping, and even some stuff to get the kids involved. A very entertaining and wholesome night for all ages! They also have alcohol and snacks for purchase as well as a pretty cool gift shop. Located right in the heart of the stockyards be prepared to pay or get lucky for parking or rideshare there.

Yelp
Great rodeo and venue. All seers are good. 2 and 1/2 hour show . Decent food concessions. Nice venue. Enjoyed our first rodeo.
google avatar

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Took the family here for the Rodeo on a Friday night. It was a really great atmosphere and our seats were really good. There were plenty of different events, and it was good to see women and children involved also. We all had a great time and will return again.
google avatar

P. Steve C.

Yelp
Nice rodeo and venue. The way I remember it as a child. Highly recommended especially for parents with children, because they have activities in the arena for kids. Don't interpret this as me saying it's for kids. It's a serious rodeo and you'll be watching replays the next day in several bars.

Yelp
Rodeo was OK, Arena sound man should be fired.... Sound was out of control... BASS was awful ....
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
This was my first rodeo so I had no idea what to expect but it was a lot of fun! They had bull riding, which was probably the "main event" as well as roping and bronco riding. They have limited food options - hotdogs, popcorn - basically things you'd find at a baseball game. I wish we had eaten before we went because the lines were long and the food is pricey. Arrive early if you're driving because parking is tricky! They have several lots in the area but we tried 3-4 before we found one with openings. Granted, we are in town for the eclipse so I'm sure this weekend was extra busy. I'm glad I experienced a Texas rodeo - definitely something that was on my bucket list and Fort Worth is the place to do it!
google avatar

Armando G.

Yelp
Rodeo night was great, all cowboys and cowgirls have a great and courageous performance! The crowd cheered them on and I believe all had a good time. Our seats were perfectly in the middle were we could see and enjoy views from both ends of the Arena. Enjoyed it especially because it was safe and fun for many young children! Id recommend it as a must see place next time you're in the Ft. Worth area!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Buy rodeo tickets ahead of time online if you can, because it might be more expensive and also more limited in seat choices in person. I was personally a little worried that the rodeo would be a little too aggressive for me. I've heard they really love and care for their animals, but I've also read one or two things on Reddit about animal lovers being concerned with the animals who felt like they were in distress. It was manageable. I still wouldn't recommend it to those who strongly do not want to see animals in that position. I ended up finding the rodeo very exciting. Watching people compete. Watching animals do their thing. Crowds cheering. It's part of the culture here and I think it's not the same anywhere else. Do it at least once if you're comfortable!
google avatar

Sandra M.

Yelp
We attended the Friday night rodeo! I would do it again and again. So much fun and exciting!!
google avatar

Alan N.

Yelp
Not sure how to rate it but I had a great time. I didn't get any food or anything here but the rodeo was fun. $92 for two people. We got our tickets early and got front row seating. We wander and sat at different spots to get different vantage points. Highly recommend if you have never been to a rodeo before.
google avatar

Chloe T.

Yelp
The Cowtown Coliseum is a great venue for events at the stockyards such as the rodeo and bull fighting. We enjoyed both while in town. The location is perfect for those who are enjoying the stockyards, with many shops and restaurants in the area. If you would like something to eat or drink inside, concessions and a bar are both offered. Nice venue with lots of history.
google avatar

Tara S.

Yelp
The best time! We had VIP seats at the end of the arena and would totally get them again. Private restrooms, table service and no crowds! They weren't expensive either. The rodeo was great too! Such a good place for date night with your significant other or with the whole family.
google avatar

Alexander O.

Yelp
This venue is on the smaller side which means that you can get good views from any angle. Food and Drinks are stadium price and the seats are tighter together. Worth while going at least once to see one of their rodeos or even any other equestrian event.
google avatar

Yuby A.

Yelp
Fun night at the coliseum! Great crowd and super entertaining. There's concession stands on either side and a few bar stands! And did I mention there's AC?!? Omg! I highly recommend a rodeo when in Ft Worth!

marissa m.

Yelp
Best expierence and had a lot of fun! Can not wait to go back! They really do know how to put on a show!

Yelp
Visited Cowtown Coliseum on a Saturday to attend the Bill Pickett rodeo. I'd never been to the venue or this type of event so it was all new to me. This venue is near the Stockyards and to say it was crowded is an understatement, so be prepared to spend a lot of time inching through the area looking for parking--we had to overshoot the venue to find a paid lot. We had kids in tow, along with a stroller and this isn't the most accessible place for that. However they did have an area where we could drop it off and pick up again before we left. The venue was cool, didn't seem like there was a bad seat as everyone seemed to have a clear view of the arena. We did try out the concessions which were disappointing, especially the soft pretzel (the kids literally spit it out, and I tasted it and did the same). I'd bring my own snacks before buying from here again. Overall, cool venue and the rodeo was fun but give time for parking and navigating the area an skip the concessions.

Joanne F.

Yelp
You should not use stubhub, as their website malfunctions and ended up charging me double due to website issues , which I think were deliberate. They refused to reverse the extra charge and your box office person was no help, but did mention several other people had had similar complaints the day before. The box office person said they (stubhub) was a reseller company , so of course they couldn't control their actions, yet the rodeo website automatically directed us to stubhub ...we thought we were dealing with the rodeo box office directly until the two separate transactions posted. We called immediately, but the stubhub person said they never ever allow cancellations even if the issue was their fault.

Yelp
Cowtown Coliseum is quite the venue to watch a rodeo. This was my second rodeo and much better than the previous one I attended.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
My wife and I went down to see the all black rodeo A great family environment with the small group of cowboys and cowgirls putting out a great show We had a small snack Hot dog Pretzels before the show started Not bad for an event like this The building is old but well kept even the bathroom was clean The only issue is or was the metal seats they need to be updated and a couple of big screen tvs need to be added But this was a great experience and we plan on returning a must see event if you are passing through cowtown

Terri T.

Yelp
Very nice air-conditioned arena with well placed TV screens for close up viewing. Comfortable seating as well. All seating provide a great view of the action.

Yuh K.

Yelp
there food is DISGUSTING & They won't allow you to bring your own drinks or snacks in!!!

Yelp
Our favorite rodeo. Great family fun. Historical town, street and building. This building was built in 1908. Always great fun. If you pay extra to sit in the front 2 rows it is padded.
google avatar

Elle G.

Yelp
We always enjoy a rodeo. This was our first time at the Red Steagall Cowboy Reunion and it will not be our last. The arena is not too large so there is not a bad seat in the place. They had plenty of snacks and drinks. I'm already looking for next year's dates.

Yelp
In 2021, I saw the CBS show on "Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo" and I said I have to go! My family and one of my friends that lives in Dallas decided to go once the "Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo" was at the Fort Worth Stockyards, Cowtown Coliseum on February 18, 2023. I'm so glad this was my first Rodeo competition experience! Last year, I went to the San Antonio Rodeo and saw the animals and enjoyed the carnival. I didn't see any cowboy competitions. Before the "Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo" began, I had a chance to walk around the Cowtown Coliseum. I saw the Early Years history wall, the historic Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and Bill Pickett Exhibit which included his saddle and rodeo gloves. Once the "Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo" began, I learned alot about the history of rodeo. We had great seats, in section D, row 2 and we were able to see everything. We even saw a cute 3 year old cowboy competing! He did such a GREAT job. I loved seeing the cowboys and cowgirls doing black cowboy culture especially during Black History Month. Thank you "Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo" for educating everyone about Black Western Heritage and the significance of Black Cowboys and Cowgirls. Once the rodeo was over, we left the Cowtown Coliseum just in time for the Fort Worth Herd of Longhorn's doing the famous cattle drive in the Fort Worth Stockyards. It was my Dad and Sister's first time seeing longhorns. They loved it. We definitely got the full rodeo experience, of course wearing our cowboy boots and all!

Yelp
Wow this place is a lot of fun! If your ever in the area on a Friday or Saturday evening make sure you buy your tickets to the rodeo and get there so you can pick a good seat don't pay extra to sit in the box seats there's no reason to pay extra your just waiting money. You can send me the money you want to waste? Sit in the middle to the front where the pins are that the cowboys come out of on the bull. It's an EXCELLENT evening of bull riding and many other events. And if you don't enjoy yourself go up to one of the Cowboys after the show and explain to them why your upset and ask for your money back. If your an animal activist stay away, people don't want to hear your crying the poor animals. These animals are better cared for than most people. This is how people live and make there living. NO animals are injured and if the cowboys do do an illegal take down they are disqualified. And the kids chasing a sheep around to get a piece of tape OMG the children are having fun the sheep is not hurt.

Okeed0k E.

Yelp
Went to the matinee showing today. Very disappointing. Volume of the entire show was WAY TOO LOUD. My ear that was facing the speaker system is still hurting hours afterwards. If you plan on bringing young children to this place, I would strongly advise against it, as you will be subjecting them to possible hearing damage. To top it off, the announcer's voice is at a tone that is lost due to the music, plus his accent is too thick. We could not understand any of the penalties or explanation because we could understand only every third or fourth word. No bull rider even qualified. No lasso demonstration to end the show. We won't be back...it just isn't worth the money or ears ringing.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
We did not get to go inside so my review is of the outside and the cattle outside. After looking at the pictures I hope to bring some family members here who love rodeos. The outside is very nice and clean. All of the staff were very nice and if there had been an event during the day we would have gone in.
google avatar

Gail B.

Yelp
Cowtown has everything, even if you aren't a cowboy or cowgirl. There are rodeos, concerts, livestock events, shopping and dining in the building. If an event isn't going on, you can still tour the building and visit the gift shop.
google avatar

Terry G.

Yelp
For my sister's birthday, we took her and my mom to see the Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show. The show was just ok and VERY hokey but my mom and sister loved it. The coliseum is very old and not really friendly to folks that have trouble walking. My mom is 80 and all the stairs were difficult for her. I'm not saying don't go if you have walking issues, but it is something to take into consideration. We have not been to the rodeo there yet but that is on the list for very soon.

Sultan A.

Yelp
Nice family gather. Had fun watching.they have show on Thursday to Sunday. Try to attend weekend because there are many shows

Yelp
The year long Fort Worth rodeo is held here and I love coming to the rodeo! I'm new to Texas and have found the rodeo was so damn entertaining and fun. Lots of different events packed into the two hour show. Highly recommend if you're coming through town.

Yelp
What a better evening out in Texas then to go to a Rodeo... well at least that was the though of our large group that was in town for work. Located in the famous stock yards, walking distance from Cattleman's restaurant. We purchased tickets right at the window for $20 minutes before the rodeo started. Seating is first come, our group found random seats in the same section. Seemed like there wasn't a bad seat in the place. I was excited to experience my first rodeo, from the riding of the bulls to racing around barrels... i thought it would be exciting. Sadly it was a huge disappointment. Seeing how badly the animals are treated so they can run around the arena was heartbreaking. The worst was the calf roping, they twist and pull the calf's tail before they let them out to be roped and tied up... I found myself cheering for the calf's ( they got away most of the time) They even get the kids in the audience involved, by chasing sheep around trying to remove duct tape from their fur (all exits are closed, so eventually the sheep are corned and the tape is ripped off) It was disturbing how people here enjoy this entertainment, must be a Texas thing. We left after about 45 mins, will never go back.

Yelp
Located in the perfect spot with easy access to park. The coliseum is organized very well with good seating. There are ramp ways where you can park strollers, wheelchairs, etc. Tickets are very reasonable and every Friday you get one free child ticket with the price of an adult ticket. Loveeeeeed watching the bull riding! Best part of the whole night.

Yelp
Great go-to stereotypical Texas experience to show your out-of-state/country friends. For the price of your ticket to the rodeo, you also get to witness some misogyny. Enjoy! The coliseum itself is air-conditioned, thankfully. Seating is first-come, first-served, unless you pay extra for the box seats. The rodeo was great sport, nothing scripted or predictable. The MC worked hard to engage the audience, and even though it was a little hard to understand what he was saying, the events were intuitive enough to figure it out. Only objection is when, during one of the breaks between events, six female volunteers were called to the center for a spontaneous dance-off. They made one woman keep dancing with a blindfold on so she didn't realize she was the only one, while everyone laughed uneasily. When they finally told her to take her blindfold off, they used her embarrassment as a prop for entertainment... and then they didn't give her anything. (Not saying that that would have been better, of course.) The whole episode just felt like something was really off, borderline objectifying/sexist. Guess that's an aspect of old stereotypical Texas that comes free with your ticket. So much for gentleman cowboys, huh. You've been warned--don't just jump up to run in there when they offer the chance! You don't know what game they'll play.

Yelp
THIS IS A FORT WORTH STAPLE. Really fun -- worth spending your day at the Stockyard and ending at the rodeo. Comfortable seating and a great event for all ages. Great activity for out of town -ers to really feel like a Texan!

Yelp
If you are someone you know is visiting, this really is a must to see. I have seen the Shawnee Show several times because of out-of-towners. After the first show, it is not too exciting. But, for those who have never seen it and not experienced "old Texas", this quickly becomes their favorite from their visit here. Guns shooting, whips cracking- they feel like they have seen true cowboys! Yes, it is a little cheesy. An entire song dedicated to guys on horses herding cows. Another of an "Indian" dancing. They really should streamline the show. And there is an incredible gal who performs amazing tricks on the horse-they should showcase her skills more. Something I love every time I visit is the building itself. It is over one hundred years old and smells of pure wood, from top to bottom, since it is old. To envision Elvis performing there is really exciting to me-this little coliseum and such a super star-wow! The building is air conditioned, which is a god-send on hot days here in Texas. Buy your tickets in the building directly in front of the coliseum and then peruse what the Stockyards have to offer while waiting! Enjoy!
