Google
10/10 experience here. we went for dinner and all of the food was great. they had lots of gluten free options, and assured me that my food would be prepared separately in order to avoid cross contamination. the flavours were incredible and the prices are very reasonable too. all the tacos are gluten free( and the birria tacos and the duck tacos were amazing!). the staff were so lovely and helpful too.

Google
Delicious food and so much of it is gluten-free! I was very hungry so ate 4 tacos so if you are hungry it is quite expensive 😅 but great for a smaller meal! And they didn’t judge me for getting this many haha

Google
i’ve been here countless times, definitely one of my favorite tacos in lisbon. the birria taco is unbeatable, and the churros are absolutely perfect. the service is good, but it always feels a bit rushed. as soon as you finish a dish, someone is already asking if you’re done ordering. i get that it’s a small space and they need the tables to turn over quickly, but sometimes you just want to finish your drink and dessert without feeling pressured.

Google
Busy taco restaurant, with homemade tortillas for the tacos. Ordered the Elote corn, chicken tacos and Birria tacos. Everything was delicious! Polite service, open bar on the outside of restaurant that allows you to start up on your drinks while waiting to get seated.

Google
Amazing food ! Best tacos I had in Lisbon. Amazing vibes also with the music and the open kitchen. It is a bit expensive however, on the higher range for Lisbon.

Google
Amazing vibes at this place. The service was super fast and the staff was really kind. My only qualm were the portion sizes. For the price we paid for the burrito bowls, I wish there was more food. It was still delicious, which is why I wanted more! The margaritas were also delicious, the tajin around the rim was delightful. Truly authentic!

By now, everyone knows that I typically only give 5 star reviews. I pretty much review places that wow me! Coyo Taco is awesome! The service, the ambiance and the menu are beautifully planned. The shrimp quesadilla, el pastor tacos, and the Berria tacos were perfectly balanced. The guac was not the norm, it was very fresh and perfectly balanced and mixed as well. If you are visiting Lisbon or you are a local, I hope you enjoy this place like I have. I will be back for sure….

We arrived at 12pm and were seated and served quickly. Very tasty and we ordered 2 sets of tacos each so that was 4 tacos and we were full for the whole day. It was our last hour in Lisbon before flying home and we were very impressed.

Yelp
For the record: yes, this is the same Coyo Taco located in Miami. Inside is chic and cozy with plenty of options to choose from. I ended up ordering the Huitlacoche tacos while my family ordered a set of chicken tacos and a side of arroz verde. Servers were very helpful and our food came out fast! The huitlacoche was quite tasty! Think mushroom flavor, surrounded by a cheese crusted tortilla. I enjoyed it way more than I thought. My parents like their chicken tacos but we were all disappointed by the rice, which could have been cooked a bit longer. Overall though, not the worst tacos I've had in my life. Would recommend if you're looking for something familiar!

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch. Service was quick and friendly - shared an elote and the carne asada and chicken tacos. Everything was seasoned perfectly and very fresh. After eating pasta, fish, and pizza in southern Italy for every single meal we were ready for some variety and we found it in Lisbon.

Kagame L.

Yelp
A decent taco place - especially for a quick bite. I'm not sure if Lisbon is known for tacos, but they were fresh and authentic (and flavorful, too)! Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The place is not that big, so if you can get there during an off-peak hour to grab a seat then that will be your best bet; there is no bar seating.

Yelp
we came to coyo as a rec from my family and upon entering it was super cute and vibey inside. i loved the atmosphere. the workers were super accomodating and friendly as well. we started with the guacamole and refried beans with chips. all of this + the sauces they brought were very delicious. however the tacos we did not like. there were some weird strong flavors almost like bay leaves but super strong in the meats. we noticed it specifically in the al pastor and cochinita pibil tacos. the carne asada didnt have a weird flavor but the meat was kinda chewy.

Yelp
Food: Fabulous Service: Superb Ambiance: Amazing Came here for our last dinner before heading home, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. The burrito bowls were the bomb and the tacos were tantalizing. The chips were fresh out the fryer and the guacamole was like omg!!! Let's not forget the levels of salsa, let's call them spectacular. Shout out to our server, I believe his name was Amerish (the guy with the braces) was amazing as well. I definitely would come back the next time and suggest you do if you have not already! I give this place 4 yumms up!

Cailor MacIntyre M.

Yelp
Cool ambiance, great guac, wish the chips were different. Too many beans in the burrito bowl, overpowered my whole meal. Burrito was good. Very expensive for what we got though. Thought the prices would be cheaper. Food came out quick.

Yelp
Absolutely great food! We are from Arizona where the Mexican food is abundant but this place rocked!!

Joyti K.

Yelp
Excellent food. Drinks were delicious Staff was great. Service was wonderful Excellent all the way around

Yelp
My son really wanted tacos and we found this place on Yelp and it was SO good!! I wanted something light so I had the ensalada orgánica and the frijoles refritos, and my son had the carne asada burrito. Rafael was so nice and so helpful and communicative. He took great care of us. The ambiance was really nice and the food came quickly! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

dami m.

Yelp
Truly the best tacos and starters ever. Berrian was juicy. Chips and guacamole so tasty and fresh.

Kenneth E.

Yelp
Came here after we tried to get into a few other local restaurants and there was either a wait or they were not serving food that we wanted. The service here was on point and very good. That being said, I think the food here was a bit expensive, especially for Portugal, but even compared to New York. Then the food itself was so so. The rice was a bit hard (probably under or overcooked), and there was no vegetables in the burritos. The flavor was OK. Overall, if you are dying for a taste of American Mexican cuisine, stop in, but would probably avoid and stick with another restaurant in the area.

Gale S.

Yelp
The tacos were awesome! They werent perfect, but they were solid. We got two tacos to go and both taco tortilla shells were ready to break in half when you tried picking the taco up outve the box. Need better tortillas. Other than that, tacos were solid. Would definitely be back !

Yelp
i missed mexican food so much as a study abroad student. we waited for about 20/25 minutes to be seated and headed right in. service was quick and easy. the chips and guacamole and salsas were all so good. the corn was to die for. i had the birria tacos which were okay. they were a little bit too dry and could have used more consommé.

Roxana Q.

Yelp
Expectations were low... no one outside of some parts of the states and Mexico seem to know how to do Mexican food right. This place is from Miami so I had a bit higher of hope. Everything was all good until I got to the tacos and quesadilla. Abysmal. The cochinita pibil tasted like it had cinnamon in it and the asada was offensive. They don't know how to marinate either basically. Guac and chips were good and the chela hit but save the food for somewhere else.

Len T.

Yelp
Food is great and the service is as well. Not much outside seating. And the house beer is good as well.

Yelp
We actually went to the second location closer to Cais do Sodre but could not locate them on yelp. The food was good but for the portions that we received, the price was not worth it. Our server passed us a few times and we ended up having to flag down someone else to finally take our order. Definitely would recommend the restaurant to change the plates as I felt like I was eating out of a dog bowl.

Nicole D.

Yelp
The service here is awful! They didnt even say hello when we walked in. The waiter just immediately asked if we had reservations. We didnt have a reservation but they sat us anyway. There were literally only 4 other people in the restaurant! It took 15 mins to get the waiter to come by our table. I asked for a margarita but with Vodka instead of Tequila. The waiter asked the bartender and they said I'd have to pay the price of the tequila margarita and the price of another margarita! WHAT? Pay double just to substitute out the type of alcohol? That is ridiculous! It took another 15 mins to get our drinks. We asked for chips and guac. Chips were cold but the guac was seasoned well. When it was served we noticed it didnt have the 5 side salsas that the other tables had along with theirs. We had to ask for the salsas twice more both times the waiter looking at us sideways and then we waited another 20 mins for it to be served. They seemed to be busy filling take away orders and didnt really care about the in dining customers. We wanted to order the 3 taco combo but get 3 different types of tacos but they said we couldn't do that. We ordered a side of beans and rice and both were cold and lacked flavor. I had to fix the beans up by mixing in salsa and salt. It took forever for us to get our waiter's attention to order food. When we finally did order it then took forever for us to get our food. The Birria tacos were good and flavorful but needed a deeper more flavorful consommé to dip them in. The tortillas were delicious. However, they were so not worth being treated poorly by the staff, waiting forever for food and dealing with bad service. It was also way overpriced. I do not recommend eating here.

Yelp
I just ordered 2 pollo tacos on uber eats but i loved them! Also had a drink out of their window on the street which was fun. The only beer they have is coronas and modelos.

Wilson L.

Yelp
Stopped here for a few quick tacos and it was decent! It wasn't anything extremely amazing or anything like that but it was a good spot for a few bites and a drink. The service was friendly too, I'd recommend it if you've got a craving for tacos.

Erin C.

Yelp
Great ambiance and food. Really flavorful dishes and it was fun to watch the staff in the semi visible kitchen make the recipes with lots of seasonings and freshly made tortillas. We loved our fish tacos and guac. Chips were really good as well

Anthony W.

Yelp
Everything is great. Salsas! Salads!! Tacos !!!!! Walking distance from train station. People way cool.

Mia R.

Yelp
So cute , i ordered from uber eats rose was so good, and tacos were even better order more rather than less bc it's that good

Yermiyah K.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere! We chose this spot as your final dinner in Lisbon before we head home and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious (the mushrooms were a bit much; would suggest to add fajitas to their dishes) and quick! They also accommodated our 17 month old and his stroller so thank you for that!

Kirsten M.

Yelp
I came in for lunch just as they had opened. My Aunt ordered a carne asada burrito bowl and I got the quinoa falafel tacos. We waited ages for our food to come out! These two ladies next to us arrived after us and got their food first. I was pretty hangry at this point.... Our food eventually came out. I guess they were cooking the beans??! My Aunt really liked her burrito bowl, but the portion was ginormous! My tacos were alright, nothing amazing. I did like the assortment of salsas they drop at every table ranging from sweet to spicy. In all I would say it's an alright tex-mex place!

Gina M.

Yelp
Small taco joint in the popular Barrio Alto neighborhood. Definitely small and left a bit more to be desired from its pork tacos. The lasting flavor in the tacos were cumin. There should not have been a reason for that ti be the lingering flavor and not an accent flavor. The guacamole was fresh but a bit on the saltier side. Ok spot for eccentric tacos - if that's your thing, however I wouldn't run to go back here with so many dining options in Lisbon. Solid 3 stars.

Jason F.

Yelp
The 3.5 stars are pretty accurate for this place. Decent tacos. Typical slow European service. Of the 3 tacos I got, the shrimp seemed the tastiest and the only one that didn't fall apart. Not a bad option if you can't get into any of the many swanky restaurants on the strip

Natasha H.

Yelp
My friends and I went to Coyo taco in barrio alto a few days ago. We were really exited to try as the place looked really nice. When we ordered our food it was very disappointing, overall the price compared to the food you get is sooo expensive, I think I paid 12 euro for a burrito that was not that good, a bit small for a burrito. I could get a better and bigger burrito for 8 euros in another place. Also my friends did order tacos which also were really pricey. The taco shell were too soft so the filling came out, and the taste was boring. So overall a cool place but the food not so interesting.

Kiia L.

Yelp
This place was nice, long ass wait because they always let 2 people tables go and we had 3. They should let you in based on when you get there. The tacos were good, bad at accommodating if you don't want something on it. The margarita was extremely strong, we couldn't even drink them.

Adam H.

Yelp
Food isn't bad. However. It is ran and operated by fools. Sad. We waited twenty nine minutes to order. And another thirty seven for the food to come. The guacamole and chips (which customarily comes BEFORE the tacos) took another twenty six minutes.

Jeremy N.

Yelp
One of the many good places to eat in Barrio Alto area. I had the pineapple & chicken taco, and carne asada. Both were extremely tasty. Nice atmosphere and the staff seems pretty friendly. The only negative was when you order chips and salsa, they don't give you very much.

Winnie L.

Yelp
it was a good place i miss it the flavors were as unique as the ambience the service was excellent I wasn't a fan of the chairs I would eat here again after the world wakes up

Joshua H.

Yelp
This place is a must! I have been in Europe for two years now and this is the first time I feel lIke I am back home in California. Everything from the music, the food and the customer service is amazing. The sight seeing on the way up the hillside is great too!

Yelp
This Coyo Taco location is in Barrio Alto/Principe Real. They also have another location near Cais do Sodre which is where we went. We started out with a few Coyo Margaritas which were excellent. I don't know if it was because I hadn't had a Margarita in such a long time, or if they were really just that good, but in any case, the Margaritas were fantastic €7.00 each. We also had some guacamole. (7€ for what amounted to about 3/4 of a cup and a small bag of chips. The guacamole was also excellent. Note that all taco orders come in pairs, and in total we ordered 5 pairs. Shrimp 12.50€, Al Pastor €7.50, Cochinita Pibil €7.50, Tempura Fish €16.00, Carne Asada €8.00. So let's break this down with one example. The Fish Tempura at €16.00. Current exchange rates price a pair of fish tacos here at Coyo Taco at $19.00. That's $9.50 per taco. Pretty much the most expensive taco's I've ever had. . None of the tacos we had were blow the top of your head off good, but there was nothing wrong with them, they were really nice, but not $9.50 per taco nice. There was a bit of a problem with the flavors. For example, I had the Al Pastor and the Cochinita Pibil tacos, and the flavor difference was almost indistinguishable. Cochinita Pibil originates in the Yucatan, and it is virtually impossible to re-create this dish at a restaurant in Lisbon, as I'm sure they're not burying a pot in the backyard overnight. The flavor was good, but the flavor of the Al Pastor was almost the same. Again almost indistinguishable. So the bottom line is not the food quality, the quality is there, but the problem is the price. Really, really expensive for what you get. The bill totaled €84.50 for 10 tacos, guacamole, two fizzy waters and 3 margaritas. Drum roll..... that's over $100.00 at current exchange rates. Comedian Ron White does a bit about tacos, and how he eats the baby duck pussy lip tacos that you get at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills on Sunday. Well, I can't imagine how much those fictional tacos would cost at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, but I suspect they'd be nearly as expensive as the fish tacos at Coyo Taco. Whatever the price bar rates at Coyo Taco, just raise it up two steps. Again, really nice, but not worth the price.

Yelp
Great food and service. We visited the restaurant at 9:00 pm and ordered our drinks and waited outside of the restaurant for just 20 minutes before we were able to get seated. Our service was professional and made us feel right at home. Out food came out hot and almost together for each person. Churros are a must for dessert! Enjoy eating at this clean and friendly place when you are in Portugal visiting or if you live in the area.
