We had great fun here. Cozumel isn’t for everyone…it’s very busy, but friendly (and a lot cheaper). It’s even got American food (Micky D’s, Carls Jr. etc) if you like that stuff. Theres not much seaweed so not too bad a smell. We did the Cozumel Turtle Sanctuary Tour. The boat we were on was perfect. 10 adults and the crew. There was cover from the blistering heat, free drinks (🙄) and a fun delectable lunch provided which we ate in the water…don’t worry it’s fun. Bring something to cover up from the sun in July - you WILL get burnt. Brilliant day, amazing Turtles, Barracudas, Stingrays and fishes EVERYWHERE!!!! Best day ever. Captain Alex knows his stuff…

I visited Cozumel as part of a scuba diving excursion. I mostly spent the day on the sea but before leaving went around some local shops and places to eat, great vibes is all I can say.

I had a memorable time in Cozumel! Locals are welcoming, the food is delicious, and there are lot of activities to keep yourself occupied throughout the day. I ended up doing a Carnival excursion where they drive around the city and stop at designated places. Keep in mind, it’s sunny all year round, so don’t neglect to bring plenty of sunscreen and wear a hat.

COZUMEL, MEXICO: 👍👍👍👍👍 Experience the Vibrant Culture and Stunning Beaches of Cozumel, Mexico, a popular destination for travelers seeking beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and an abundance of activities. Cozumel is a Mexican island located in the Caribbean Sea, off the eastern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is the largest island in Mexico and one of the most visited destinations for cruise ships in the Caribbean. Historically, Cozumel was an important site for the Mayan civilization, and it remains a sacred place for the Mayan people. The island was considered a holy sanctuary by the ancient Mayans, who built several temples on the island dedicated to Ix Chel, the goddess of fertility and love. Cozumel became a popular tourist destination in the 1960s, largely due to its proximity to Cancún and its thriving scuba diving scene. Today, the island blends rich cultural heritage with modern amenities, making it an ideal spot for both adventure and relaxation. FOOD 👍 Cozumel offers a diverse array of dining options, including Mexican and Caribbean fare. You’ll find a variety of seafood dishes, including freshly caught fish tacos, ceviche, grilled lobster, and shrimp cocktails. Many of the beachfront restaurants offer delicious meals with views of the sparkling Caribbean waters. If you’re in the mood for something unique, try some local Mexican specialties like cochinita pibil (slow-roasted pork), mole, and sopes. For dessert, tres leches cake or flan is always a treat. The food in Cozumel can vary in price, but you’ll find a mix of high-end gourmet dining and affordable options that cater to all tastes. SERVICE & HOSPITALITY👍 Cozumel is known for its friendly and welcoming locals, making it a delightful place to visit. The service at restaurants, hotels, and excursion sites is generally excellent. The island’s tourism-driven economy relies on the hospitality industry, and the staff at local businesses go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors. Whether you’re eating at a beachfront restaurant, shopping at the local markets, or enjoying an excursion, you’ll receive warm, personalized service from the people of Cozumel. VALUE FOR MONEY👍 Cozumel offers excellent value for money, especially if you’re looking for quality experiences at a reasonable price. While upscale restaurants and high-end resorts may be more expensive, there are plenty of affordable options for travelers on a budget. Street food, like tacos al pastor or elote (Mexican corn on the cob), offers an authentic taste of Mexico for a very low cost. AMBIENCE 👍 Cozumel is renowned for its breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant atmosphere. The island has a relaxed, island-style vibe, with charming streets filled with colorful buildings, local shops, and cafes. The downtown area has a lively atmosphere, with vibrant markets, art galleries, and souvenir shops. Whether you’re lounging by the beach or exploring the island’s cultural heritage, Cozumel’s ambiance is one of warmth, tranquility, and excitement. LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY👍 Cozumel is easily accessible, with a major cruise port located in the heart of the island. Cozumel International Airport also offers daily flights from major U.S. cities, making it a convenient destination for travelers seeking a tropical getaway. The island is relatively easy to navigate, with taxis and shuttle services readily available for tourists. OVERALL EXPERIENCE In summary, Cozumel is a must-visit destination for those seeking a beautiful, lively, and culturally rich island experience. With its stunning beaches, rich history, delicious food, and welcoming locals, Cozumel has something for everyone.
