Google
Super cute, small quaint breakfast spot! We were looking for something quick, but able to sit down and enjoy. Our food came out within 5 minutes, and was so fresh! Jessica, our waitress was a pleasure and on top of her game, thank you! We will definitely try to visit again when we’re back in town! PS. You can totally share the biscuits and gravy meal! So much food for a great price!

Google
Place could use a good cleaning l, but service was great. Food was very good the French Toast is to die for!

Ever since my best friend moved to Lakeland and we have been visiting her, we’ve made it into a tradition to go to this brunch spot before heading back home. I have absolutely fallen in love with this restaurant. All the employees there have been super helpful and friendly, that that is one of the reasons that we keep coming back besides the food! The food, however, is always amazing. This restaurant definitely needs your place to go to too to get an amazing meal and incredible service.

We've been here a few times for breakfast fare and the food has been great. Service is very friendly and helpful. Portions are large and very tasty. Atmosphere is average, seating is not overly comfortable and can be cramped as this place gets very busy at times, but rightly so. Ordered the Gyro omelette with feta which was good but wouldn't order again as there are better omelette choices. Ordered a short stack of pancakes ($5) which are deliciously filling. Only 2 pancakes but they are very dense and moist. You can probably order just those and be good. This place has become our go to breakfast joint. Nothing fancy but great home cooked food with big portions for a decent prices .

Foood was amazing! Good portion sizes. Outside seating is nice along the patio to bring our dog! We will be back!

First time at this humble and wonderful dinner. Parking was full at 8am on a Sunday, so my husband knew that the food was going to be good. The staff are very friendly, place is cleaned and really cozy ,the food came out super fast and it was DELICIOUS 😋. My husband and I like to go out and support our mom/pop dinners and we sure will be back to this gem here in Lakeland FL.

Google
Really good breakfasts and large servings, especially the Biscuits and gravy. This was a follow up visit for brunch and we had the French Toast special (2 slices plus 2 eggs, 2 bacon. 2 sausage and cheese grits) and the classic cheeseburger with onion rings. Delicious. Wait time for two, about 15 minutes.

Google
Cozy low-keyed diner. Food was good. Bacon was better than average. Large portions and low prices. Came in because hubby loves biscuits and gravy. A bit disappointed with the sausage gravy. It was very salty. Service was very good and prompt. A lot of locals so it was very busy.

Yelp
Relocated here from Milwaukee, Wisconsin 3 years ago. Disappointed with most Polk County restaurants but NOT disappointed at all with Cozy Oaks! Great Food, Great Service, Great Portions & Pricing!

Ally A.

Yelp
We had plans to visit Polk Museum of Art and needed a quick lunch nearby. Unfamiliar with the area, we found Cozy Oaks on Google. The decor and vibe is extremely ordinary and hole-in-the-wall-ish, but the food and service is top notch. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed ourselves. We loved the chicken orzo soup! I had the chicken salad and everything tasted fresh and delicious. My mom ordered the hot open turkey with mashed potatoes- she's super picky and enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend ordered the roast beef with macaroni and cheese -- I tasted his mac and it was so creamy and delicious.

Francine A.

Yelp
Just had breakfast this morning for 1st time there. Food was delish & service was fast & polite. Will be going back again. Recommend if you want a good breakfast go there.

Mateusz G.

Yelp
Good old dinner! I love places like that from time to time! Simple breakfast food, nice warm cup of coffee, pancakes for dessert and life is good hehe Food was very tasty, service was great and the local customers give this place a nice cozy feel. Enjoy!

Christi K.

Yelp
Was looking for a good country home cooked breakfast and boy we got it here! Large portions and friendly staff!

Michael S.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch today. Ordered the ham and swiss sandwich with chips for a side. Was charges a $.50 up charge for a hoagie roll. Today is 05/23/2024. The 2 bags of Ruffles chips were stamped sell by 04/09/2024. Server offered to replace the chips with French fries. Soon a regular size dinner plate of crinkle cut fries were delivered (enough for 3 people). Only issue- the fries needed about 2 or 3 more minutes in the fryer. It was a plate of mushy mess. Not edible. Didn't even bother trying a 3rd side. I was ready to just be done and go. This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast, but I've learned my lesson: not a place for lunch! Service and cleanliness are never an issue here.

Cheyenne C.

Yelp
We enjoy going to Cozy Oaks for breakfast when we have family visiting in town. The menu is large, and everyone can find something they like! The service is good, each of the servers we have had have been very kind. We haven't had any lunch items from the menu so I won't speak on that, but as far as breakfast, you can't go wrong with anything!

William T.

Yelp
I got a western omelet with hash browns and a side of grits. The omelet was on point as well as the hash browns that were brown and crispy. Grits had the right consistency. The service was outstanding and my waitress was the best. I'll definitely go back l.

Cammy M.

Yelp
Good food. Great vibe. Great service. Down home feeling. Everyone welcome. Great value.

Jay G.

Yelp
Portions are humongous. Plenty of quantity for the price (about $10/person). My wife and I both ate to our fill and both had a full to-go box. Some of the best French Toast in Lakeland. Good flavor and cooked well. Pancakes were plain but good. Biscuit was crumbly and not over cooked. Not sure how many eggs come with the Hulk but it looked like 5. Appreciate that they give an option for softer or more cooked scrambled eggs. Best plain white toast I've ever had a restaurant. Butter was delicious. Western omelet was above average in flavor and a good portion size. Hash browns were plain but acceptable. Sausage had an odd taste. Won't get again. Home fries are not the choice. Avoid at all costs.

Mariel M.

Yelp
Delicious. We were in town for a cheer competition at RP Funding. We saw Cozy Oaks on Yelp and decided to give it a go! The service was amazing, I don't remember my waitress name but she had dark hair and tattoos and she was so kind and a wonderful worker. I got the gyro platter, 10 out of 10 & my cousin got the grilled cheese with bacon cheese French fries. Also, before I forget -- the French fries? Best I've ever had. So crunchy though I did need to add salt. My daughter enjoyed the Mickey Mouse pancake with bacon and we were all happy campers.

Kristina V.

Yelp
This little place is delicious like your grandma made you breakfast! The pancakes were so good. I always try the pancakes plain to see if they have flavor with out the syrup. They are a must! The eggs were great. Bacon was crispy just the way I ordered them: the sausage had great flavor. The first were good tasted homemade! The biscuits and gravy were good. I would not say they were the best I've ever had the Tracy was good the biscuit was a bit dry. The service was fantastic! We will be coming back for sure!

Jeff O.

Yelp
Had a delicious outdoor meal here earlier in December. The chicken orzo soup was scrumptious. The cobb salad was so big, I wound up taking half of it with me and had it for dinner that night. The pricing was so incredibly reasonable. And my server, Tonya B., was super nice and friendly!!

Brandon N.

Yelp
Truly one of the last Family Owned and Operated restaurants I have seen in a long time in a town that has grown into a city! Not far from Downtown Lakeland, so visitors like myself now to the area. Food is amazing, prices are 100% family-owned prices for the local community families, but also the visiting families of Polk County, Lakeland, FL! Every time you visit someone from the operating family-owned company is working to cater this special dining outing for you by yourself or a family of 10 or more, they always accommodate you and make your experience back to the Olde fashion American dining and traditions of respect and love to all their guests. If you have never experienced great food, service, and pricing reasonable ever or if it's been a long time, check this place out! You will not be disappointed with the Breakfast and lunch amazing dishes all freshly and homemade from scratch daily!!! Thank you Cozy Oaks Restaurant Family! You always make my brief visits to the area a perfect capstone to look forward to every time!!

Dan K.

Yelp
Home style dining reasonable prices any sandwich or entree lunch or breakfast is there a very good value. Service is great everyone that we encountered for the visit was very pleasant and cordial. Ambiance was very comfortable peaceful and that was very enjoyable experience as usual. You got to try the corn fritters they were excellent as usual.

Ivan H.

Yelp
Very big portion sizes. Affordable prices and very delicious. The staff is amazing and I will definitely come back.

Bill M.

Yelp
My favorite locals establishment. Best value around. Great people, great kitchen. One of the things that I look forward to most when I am around Lakeland. This place really is the spot where I set the bar for comparison in my diner stops.

Jeremy D.

Yelp
This is my second visit, and although my first visit was over 10 years ago, I remember it being simple good american food at a fair price. Glad to see things haven't changed much. I had the pressed Cuban at the waitress' recommendation and corn nuggets as a side. It was the 2nd best Cuban Ive ever had. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the bread was crispy on the outside like pressed sandwiches usually are. The nuggets looked and tasted home-made - if not they fooled me. Very very good. I also really wanted to try the Chicken & Waffles and the Chocolate Chip Pancakes -- Ill have to save those for another visit. My Wife wasn't feeling adventurous and had simple Chicken Tenders & Onion Rings. She said both were good, but the Onion Rings were some of her all-time favorites. She did wish they had some kind of special dipping sauce - but they held their own without it too. I can't wait to come back and try something else off the enormous menu, so much of it looked and sounded good. Our waitress was very accommodating, setting us up to eat outside - when FL offers good outside dining weather you got to take advantage of it! She was friendly and attentive. Nice job again Cozy Oaks.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Great local restaurant. Service fantastic. Old school feel with great prices. Breakfast so good but plan a short wait.

Kabrina B.

Yelp
Great spot!!! First, I wanted grits. Everyone can't make grits so this was a risk but I was going for it! They nailed it. The grits were perfect. Please note there's plenty of space to season to you personal perfects but overall they were prepared perfect. Salt, sugar, butter or whatever your choice of compliment, it'll work. I had the Waffle with pecans, excellent. My sister had the French toast and swore it was the best she ever had. Overall this was a great experience. Service was exceptional and the food amazing. Yes, I would recommend eating here

Breanna M.

Yelp
The cook Dean, learned to make the best quality fresh toast in New Jersey and it's the best French toast I've ever had. He said it's a secret recipe that all his customers keep going back for. I heard the waffles are also amazing but have yet to try them. They give you huge portion sizes for a fraction of the cost at other restaurants. Very cute and clean inside and make a good experience.

Brad B.

Yelp
Food fine. Wife had omelet she enjoyed. Biscuits and gravy was so-so. Very reasonably priced w/large portions. Service was good. Local neighborhood crowd with coffee clutch table of regulars.

Bridget T.

Yelp
Service was great and Food was amazing you get a lot of food for the price. Went on a Sunday morning only had to wait 10 minutes. Great atmosphere with smiling faces.

Margaret S.

Yelp
We had the special Prime Rib. Worst piece of steak had! No flavor suppose to be medium rare but was done! Wouldn't take back as server said that's the way it is! Should stick to regular menu as that food is good!

Ashley D.

Yelp
The front desk lady was so rude to begin with. Her attitude was uncalled for. When my husband and I got our food it was burnt. Not returning.

christine k.

Yelp
We stopped in at Cozy Oaks for some brunch on the way to the East Coast. It's clear there are a lot of locals that stop in. Husband and daughter enjoyed their breakfast food. I'm giving two stars for pleasant service and speed of food being served. The falafel sandwich was lacking in so many ways. What was touted as tzatziki sauce was really just sour cream. The falafel had next to no flavor. But the real kicker was that the place was filthy. Dirt all over the floor by the drink station, same in the bathroom. The kitchen entry was was...scary. There was trash under almost every table from them cleaning the table tops but never sweeping the floors. Would never ever come back.

Paula S.

Yelp
Good food, good service, and price just right. We will go back again for the eggs Benedict's.

Robert O.

Yelp
This a great place eat at a fair price, generous portions, and good food. We are new to Florida and glad that we found this place, we go there when we visit our doctors in Lakeland.

Gary H.

Yelp
This place is wonderful everything from the pie to the fresh sandwiches to the fried shrimp to the meatloaf or Gyro. The staff is always helpful and smiling. This place has been here for years and I hope to see it here many many more. My go to is the club. at lunchtime and dinner time it's packed because the dinner is good

Victoria M.

Yelp
This is obviously a diner frequented by locals because the fir department and some police officers were there or coming in as we left- that says a lot! I forgot the pictures, but it was not made to be impressive; just well done food. I had a biscuit with gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage; all delicious. My partner had eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and toast combo that was also perfectly cooked. They get busy and stay busy, but don't let that stop you; the staff knows how to handle busy with ease. It's a really cute little diner with perfectly friendly staff all working together.

G G.

Yelp
Pancakes are great and eggs were fresh; restaurant was clean and staff is friendly and fast.

Yelp
We were staying at an airbnb locally, so I was trying to find a good breakfast spot, and this one caught my eye, as it had one of the higher ratings. Since it was close by, it seemed like a good choice. When we entered, we were told we could pick our own table, so we picked one by a window. Jessica came to our table to bring us menus, and I liked her right away. She seemed very sweet and personable. My husband and I both ordered iced tea with lemon, and we settled in to look at our menus. They had quite a few good options. We both decided the Mexican omelette appealed the most to us. I ordered home fries with onions and the biscuit, which is homemade. My husband is doing the low-carb diet, so she allowed him to substitute cottage cheese for his potatoes and bread. The food came out lightning-fast and steaming hot. That impressed us, as did the portion sizes. We dug in, and the food tasted great, and they weren't skimpy with the omelette fillings like some places are. We were overall pretty impressed. My husband visited the bathroom, and it did need a cleaning, but that's pretty much the only downside. The prices here are reasonable as well. Don't hesitate to give them a try. We will be back the next time we're down! P.S.-we liked that there was a picture of Grady Judd on the wall. I wonder if that means this is one of his breakfast spots?

Bob D.

Yelp
This is a great little diner with huge portions. The food was delicious and we have been back several times since finding out about this local favorite. Service was great. I don't think my coffee cup ever got below half a cup before they were back to check on us. This will be a regular for breakfast and one day we will have to try the lunch menu.

Deke M.

Yelp
My rating is for total experience. The food is good, and rated alone would be much higher. Great variety, great menu, great pricing, breakfast or lunch all day. Today I got a weak unfriendly server who was not busy but apparently not interested in being her best. I ordered the special, salisbury steak with mashed taters and applesauce. ($9) Food was good, though the applesauce came in a Motts container with a peel off lid (I can do that at home, I mean applesauce is seldom homemade but a little cinnamon and served in a bowl would be a classier act. My table was sticky, I asked for a rag. She did come out and wash it but said it was the sticky varnish coming up, not syrup.Either way, gross. A guy came out and started sweeping vigorously in my direction. I'm sure the floor needs cleaning but I didn't appreciate the "dust up" towards my food. There are ways to clean that don't do that. My server was frequently socializing with servers and customers so it was hard to get her attention on things that might have made me a regular customer. They don't serve homemade desserts-they have Sam's Club items. Great that they're $2.50 but again, I'll buy and bring it home. Tipping is awkward - their machine starts at 20%. Parking lot is savagely busy and difficult small spaces. If you love the food or the people there it may be for you. For me it was pretty yucky today.

K M.

Yelp
Love this place! We stopped here the first morning of our vacation & have been coming every day since. The menu & portions are huge & prices are modest. We've tried a variety of items: eggs, waffles, pancakes, hot dog, BLT, biscuits (super HUGE), toast. Everything was great. Service? Top notch!! (shout out to Calissa!). This place has a diner feel where locals gather.

Mickey B.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Cozy Oaks after reading some great reviews. We stopped in close to noon and were able to seat ourselves immediately and our server greeted us quickly with menus and asking for our drink orders. The restaurant was quite full but tables seem to be spaced enough where we did not feel cramped. We ordered the Philly Omelet $7.99, Spanish Omelet $6.99, Large Biscuits and Gravy $4.29 and homemade corned beef hash $3.69. The Large biscuits and gravy was 2 very large biscuits split on the plate covered in creamy sausage gravy and was way more than I could eat so i have leftovers for another meal. The omelets were thin and tasty. The perfect consistency. The homemade corned beef hash was very tasty with large pieces of sliced corned beef mixed in with thee hash browns. Deanna was our server today and she is awesome. Friendly and very attentive. I didn't even realize I was low on iced tea and there was a new one right in front of me. Our food was out at our table within minutes of placing our order. The crowd dining was fairly diverse which was great. The menu is huge and seems to have just about every breakfast item you could want listed. This is quite a wonderful experience and one that we cannot wait to repeat. Incredible first impression.

Chuck G.

Yelp
Big menu and very reasonable prices. I had two eggs, bacon, home fries, English muffin, and pancake, and coffee all for $11. The food came out hot and it was tasty. My waitress/server was very polite and personable. She did a good job of keeping my coffee refilled. And by the way, the coffee was very good. Now the reason that this is getting four stars is because the restaurant is in need of a cosmetic facelift. The floor is a bit dingy and dirty, there are napkins under some of the table legs to keep the table steady and stable, and the windows are dirty. However the plates and utensils seem to be clean and unlike previous reviewers, I am feeling fine after eating a big breakfast. If you're looking for a five-star dining experience, you won't find it here. But what you will find is a place that has a steady clientele, hot food and good tasting food, and a great start to your day.

Cathryn G.

Yelp
This is a great breakfast/brunch spot. The location is very unassuming and the restaurant is small and cozy. You can find it off of Orange in Lakeland next to Hangar. There is a private parking lot. Once inside you can seat yourself. The menu has a wide variety of breakfast and lunch fare. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy or anything that comes with biscuits and gravy. The biscuit and gravy special comes with a whole plate of biscuits and gravy, plus two eggs, two sausage links and two pieces of bacon for under $7. The cheddar scramble is another great choice with 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 3 sausage links, biscuit, and hashbrowns for about $8. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are large. I always take a to go box. Service is fast and friendly. They have a credit card machine they bring right to the table to check you out. If you are looking for a hearty breakfast in the area this is the place to go.

Taylor J.

Yelp
Ya know, we stumbled on this by accident. This place is affordable and they give you huge helpings. We typically have a 15 min wait which is really a 5 min wait. We sit down have had great waitresses. We place our orders and food out in 15 mins. We keep coming back for more and our opinions never change. Get a grilled biscuit!!! You won't regret it ;)

Barbara H.

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to try this restaurant because of all the good reviews. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience as many. The food arrived VERY quickly, which made me believe that not everything was made fresh. The home fries were cold, tasteless, and hard as a rock on top, so most likely they were pre-made and sitting there awhile. My hubby had home fries that were also luke warm, dry, and hard. My omelette was very good, as was my husband's eggs and French toast. The biscuit was not good at all. Prices are very reasonable with good portions but I would not return. Bathroom was dirty.

Monte K.

Yelp
Great family owned restraint, great service, and great prices. After trying many brunch places across Lakeland, this one is my favorite!

Hanna B.

Yelp
Placed an order to go and we get home to find this in the food as soon as you open the lid. Neither one of us have long black hair. Food looked good at least. They just offered refund and acted like it was no big deal.

M S.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch a couple days ago, and was extremely disappointed. Server brought a menu and got my drink order and stated she would return for my order. She seemed to have tables all over the restaurant instead of a certain section. After 10 minutes I had finished my drink and still had not ordered. Finally she was heading my way and the phone rang, which took precedence over my order. We made eye contact and she knew I wasn't pleased. The call ended and the phone rang again! Yet another order into the kitchen ahead of mine. I pulled out cash for the drink and left. This was once a top favorite of mine but for now it's off the rotation.

Dave O.

Yelp
This is definitely a local hangout it seemed the staff knows all the regular customers by name which make this a very cozy little restaurant, it was refreshing to see they take the same interest in those of us that just happen to be passing through. The restaurant is very plain but that's okay because we stopped in for the food and our expectations of getting a great breakfast, excellent customer service and our food delivered to our table quickly were all met and the prices are well beyond reasonable. You will have to deal with a rather loud atmosphere it was very noisy, the poor acoustics were distracting even though it wasn't that crowded, it's seems you can hear every conversation even above the excessive banging and clanging coming from the kitchen, not to the point of being annoying but very noticeable. Still this wasn't a deal breaker for us we'd definitely return...

Amanda M.

Yelp
This place is great for some quick all day breakfast. My family and I are late sleepers so it's nice to have somewhere close that serves a delish hearty breakfast all day. My daughter always gets the Micky Mouse chocolate chip pancake which is HUGE, it is literally as big as the plate and it is about $3.75. I always add sausage for her because it is her favorite too. I didn't get a pic of her meal because she was starving and ready to dig in! But they had TONS of chocolate chips which were melted perfectly. I got the biscuit and gravy special which includes a biscuit cut in half with TONS of gravy on top, a piece of sausage which I really like there, two slices of bacon, 2 eggs cooked how you like and I add hash browns all for $8. The biscuits and gravy are good but not great, I'd give them a 7/10, the sausage is a 10/10; bacon is pretty good and the eggs and hash browns are good, I've never had bad hash browns and eggs lol. My husband got the large biscuits and gravy which comes with 2 biscuits cut in half with tons of gravy and a Belgian waffle. The waffle was delicious but it's $5 and it's not huge or anything so I feel it is a tad expensive. As far as the atmosphere don't expect anything special. It is old, not too clean or decorated very well. It's an old timey country diner. We really like this place because it one of the few places around here that serve biscuits and gravy all day but if I could rate it a 3.5 I would. It is always packed though and people love it!

Lori O.

Yelp
Our favorite place for breakfast! My fav is their biscuits and gravy. Sometimes need to rewarm items but not a problem. Service is the best!

Cynthia L.

Yelp
little cozy restaurant, they have great service and food is very fresh, cook to order, I truly recommend this place!! FYI they have Breakfast all day! BTW the BEST!

Joe L.

Yelp
I don't know WHY I left a tip. I had to go to Dunkin' Donuts to get my coffee because the waitress THOUGHT talking to 2 guys in-conversation drawn out more than getting my coffee prior to them.I couldve got breakfast at Dunkin and drive thru wouldve been quicker than customer waiting on coffee. In a rush hit Dunkin bring with see igonorance is all around piss poor customer attention

Tommy K.

Yelp
Great food, huge portions, and a price that can't be beat! This is definitely a spot to visit if you're looking for some high quality dinner food and southern breakfast.

Kat R.

Yelp
This is truly a hidden gem, great food big portions! My favorite is the French toast, this is one of our mom and pop places we enjoy dining at. Lunch is equally delicious!
