I stayed at CPH | Pevero Hotel in Sardinia for one week, and while the location and views are stunning, the hotel falls short of the 5-star standard it claims to be.
We stayed on the 6th floor, where the rooms are not renovated like those on the lower floors. While the room was somewhat okay, it definitely did not feel like a 5-star experience. The shower head wouldn’t stay in place, the curtains were musty, and the overall condition of the room was dated. However, the breathtaking sea view from the balcony was by far the highlight of the stay.
The pool area is beautifully designed and well-maintained, which added to the relaxing atmosphere of the property.
Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, a major reason why this hotel does not deserve 5 stars. The variety of food was very poor, and the cheeses, fruits, and cold cuts were kept in a cheap-looking, plastic display that was not clean at all. The breakfast area looked more like a low-grade canteen rather than a luxurious 5-star hotel dining room. This part of the hotel is in urgent need of a complete renovation. On top of that, charging €20 for half an avocado is outrageous. Another issue is the language barrier — the restaurant staff barely speak English (I’m not referring to the reception or concierge staff, but specifically the breakfast team). One morning, I asked for an iced latte with oat milk and received a glass of hot milk with ice cubes on the side.
The worst experience I had was at Le Piscine, the poolside restaurant. I ordered the fish burger, which was overly salty, had an unpleasant fishy taste, and was impossible to eat. After just a few bites, I felt unwell and had to leave it. When I told the waiter it was inedible, he simply said “sorry” but still charged me €28 for something I couldn’t eat.
On the positive side, Zafferano restaurant was excellent. I had dinner there twice, and the food was both delicious and flavorful. They even prepared pasta for me that wasn’t on the menu, which I truly appreciated.
