One of the most beautiful waterfall hikes in Virginia. The trail follows the falls almost the entire way up, so you get multiple viewpoints instead of just one. The sound of the water stays with you the whole hike, it’s really peaceful and refreshing.
The falls are tall and dramatic, especially after recent rain, and the greenery around them makes it feel like a little mountain rainforest. Some parts of the trail are a bit steep and rocky, but there are railings in most of the steeper areas, and the views are absolutely worth the climb.
At the top, you’re rewarded with a wide overlook of the mountains and valley below, perfect spot to just sit and breathe for a few minutes before heading back down.
If you love waterfalls, this is a must-do. Beautiful, calming, and one of those hikes that stays in your memory.
