Visiting the abandoned town is only possible with a tour guide, costing 11 euros per person. Tours run every hour, and it's not possible nor permitted to visit on your own due to extensive fencing.
The tour is conducted exclusively in Italian, and the guide only speaks Italian, which they inform you of beforehand. For major languages like English, there's a QR code available. We joined the group a few minutes late, and the guide did not acknowledge us at any point during the tour, which lasted over an hour. Our audio guide contained seven short fragments, but we could only locate four numbers (4, 5, 6, and 7) at the site. We double-checked this on the return route, which follows the same path.
While it might be a great experience for Italian speakers, the audio guide adds nothing for non-Italian speakers. Considering that the guide ignored us and continued speaking in Italian, I found the treatment quite rude.
In my opinion, paying 11 euros for a ticket to learn nothing and be treated rudely is not worth it.
