Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre

It was very easy to get to. The drive from Devonport was absolutely beautiful with great scenery. Even though it was quite busy when we arrived, the queue moved quickly and the lady who sold us our passes was very kind and helpful. The shuttle buses run every five mins so waiting time was not a problem. We did the 6km walk around dove lake. This was a stunning walk with a variety of views and a number of little beach coves to look at and rest at if needed.

We went during the New Year period, the place was packed!! Reccomend getting your bus tickets first thing in the morning, we did notice some people just getting on the bus without tickets and the drivers were not checking who bought tickets or not. Great that the facility is away from the mountain to protect the natural habitat around the mountain base and Dove Lake. We saw plenty of Echidna's and Wombats. The walk from Dove Lake back to the wombat area took one hour and is an easy walk even for small kids.

We need to purchase the shuttle bus ticket at the visitor center, and wanted some additional information on the walks, in particular the weather conditions regarding to the summit hike, but the staff was not as patient as there is a queue waiting to buy tickets. I didn't feel that I was well informed enough by the staff. Thankfully the walks are all very well indicated. Once you are inside, the view is just stunning

An incredible place to visit - a beautiful range of walks for different abilities levels. Even in the pouring rain it was a wonderful place to visit. We got off at the Ronny Creek stop and did the overland walk to the Dove Lake circuit. We saw a huge range of flora and wombats walking across the marshy land by the first boardwalk. After the lake wall we went to the Lodge and completed the King Billy pines walk - we saw a wallaby, her joey, a possum and more wombats. It’s such a beautiful, mossy place. The park is so well maintained and it was such a wonderful experience!

Cradle Mountain was honestly unreal. The views are insane mountains, lakes, and everything just feels so calm and raw at the same time. Walking around Dove Lake was super peaceful, and everywhere you look there’s something beautiful. The weather changes so fast, but that kind of makes it better. One minute it’s clear, then it gets foggy and moody, which makes the whole place feel wild and untouched. The tracks are easy to follow and there are options whether you just want a chill walk or a proper hike. Overall, it’s definitely one of the best places I’ve been to in Tasmania. Perfect if you want to clear your head, enjoy nature, and just get away from everything for a bit.

Amazing scenery and a pleasant climb. We couldn't go the the peak due to bad weather but it was still a magical place to walk through and the weather did mean it was quieter than normal. I do feel ripped off in the fact that the 2 times I been to cradle mountain I have never seen a single wombat...

Crowded when we visited in summer but the hike was amazing. The Dove Lake trail was in great shape. The views were amazing and there are several nice spots to take a break and have a snack.

Highly recommended The staff were so understanding and most importantly, this is where you need to pick up your park pass and bus pass.
