I must say this was very overwhelming for me. If Christmas is your jam and you live for holiday decor with all the glitz and glam, this is your heaven! I am a simple holiday individual. My friend who's in the picture has several trees. She was super excited. I felt like a toddler begging to go home🤣🤣🤣. Nonetheless this place has everything you need and what you didn't know you needed. It's very pretty inside. The staff is helpful as well. Be prepared to say excuse me on every aisle. I can only imagine what it must look like on the weekends. My suggestion is to go during the weekday when they first open. If you get overwhelmed like me, eat breakfast and drink coffee before you go. This place is great though.

We purchased their best Christmas tree. In store it looked great. I opened the box to find it filled with cheap PVC needles. I closed the box and did not disturb the packaging. I went back to the store to look at the model tree. Approx. 10% of the outer/visible tips are cheap PVC. (100% of the center needles are PVC) You can't easily see it in store b/c of the lighting. Quailty trees are all PE, or PVC only in the center. They are selling mid-tier trees for top-tier prices. The tree never left the box, but they won't take it back. See the photos below. You can't see the notice the PVC needles in the model. In daylight (with lights off) you can see the lower quality.

The experience was good, very nice items. Although, other people who weren't of color were not asked to show their ID’s with their credit card purchase. I found this very racially motivated. I was asked to show my ID to make sure it matched the name on my credit card. Pretty decorations and 5 Christmas trees purchased from Craft Tex.

I have heard for years about Craftex, but only with the last year had I visited the wonderful place. The variety of holiday decor is amazing. The workshops offered are filled with tons of information, tips and tricks for the professional and amateur decorator alike. The designers are all so willing to help and guide you as you make the workshop piece. Highly recommended for any that are wanting to learn how to make a home decor piece or take it to the next level!

Craftex - The Coolest Store in Houston Tucked onto a side street in Bellaire, just off of Bellaire Boulevard near Hillcroft, is the amazing Craftex. I discovered the place through my friend, Greg Buchold. I had been admiring a Mardi Gras mask and wreath that he had put on his door and he told me about the place. I went looking for Mardi Gras stuff but was blown away by the extensive collection of cookbooks and design books that they sell, all discounted from retail list prices. But there was much much more. Just when I think I've seen everything there is to see in Houston, something new pops up on my radar. Check out the photos.

Not sure why Yelp won't let me check in? I tried umpteenth times, and just gave up. It was my first time here, I learned about it a month ago. The main craft store is on the right side. But if you came for Christmas decor, entry is on the left. Once inside it's a little confusing with lots of dead ends and side aisles. They have a small area for lights, but mostly tree decor, ribbon, wreaths, and wreath decor, etc. Outside they have treed for purchase, sticker shock on the prices, some were like $800.00! I noticed the prices are slightly cheaper if you buy items in bulk, like 6 of the same thing instead of 1. I also noticed people had multiple shopping carts of items. I think people come here for commercial properties, office buildings etc. This place is pricey, so it wouldn't be my go-to for everything, but it's nice to take a look around, and get idea inspo. I bought some purple bulb ornaments and disco ball bulbs ornaments. FYI, the Christmas store side opens in July thru the holiday, then it closes until the following year.

This place does not disappoint for Holiday decor or any basic craft needs. I decided to change my Christmas colors so I needed to buy all new decorations. They have any and everything you need. Rows and rows of ribbons, flowers, ornaments, trees, lights, etc. Best part is everything is organized by color. They definitely need to revise the check out lines, as this could move a lot faster. Interesting store I found through an article on the Nutcracker in Houston. Lots of plastic and foam decor for Christmas that would be good for large scale installations or entryways. I found the prices pretty reasonable and lots of discounts by 12/10. The normal side was even cooler - lots of beautiful, new, relevant art and crafts books 20-30% off MSRP. Tons and tons of ribbon. Like a city block worth. Tons of tissue paper and packaging material. Tons of vase and candle selection. All in all, wonderful selection for party-related businesses. Like a less campy party city. Less of a relevant selection for a grandma in town looking for more knitting yarn.

It was rather overwhelming in one visit and I'd like to go back and poke around some more. Craftex's prices were excellent but note that all sales are final. Also the location was in a not so great part of town. They have some parking on site though.

Be ready for some craziness! In a good way. The holiday spirit lives here. I love the fact that the decorations are actually used on displays for ideas and such. They have people on hand to custom make you wreaths and garlands too! It can be expensive, but it can be worth it too. The decorations are meant to be bought with creativity in mind. So if you don't really have a good idea,m on what you want, it may be overwhelming. People helped when needed and are super nice! Be prepared to bring a large truck or a car with enough space.

Around the holidays, this place is packed and they have so many employees to assist with parking (either in parking lot or along the streets), in the store to assist while shopping and plenty of folks at check out and to help wrap your goods to ensure no damage getting them home. My mom was in town and I was told that this was the go to place for a craft fan like her. We went later in the day on Mother's Day so it was a little quiet in there. The location area is quite interesting, you feel like you are surrounded by a bunch of chop shops or something. The selection is outstanding. My mom said if Michael's/Hobby Lobby/Jo-Ann have 1 or 2 options, they have 5. On the other hand the pricing can be a lot more or sometimes a little less than these other competitors. The ribbon & fake flowers/plants sections are something that I don't think you'll find other places. If you're looking for something unique, this is your place. Just be aware of the prices. Unfortunately the Christmas building was shut down so we couldn't check it out.

Wow! This place should be called "Craftex Christmas Store"! From August - January they have a separate huge building of just Christmas decorations. The term "Wholesale" is completely misleading. Anyone can go in and buy anything on display. I was overwhelmed when walking in. I had heard they had Christmas stuff... but WOW! Be warned that everything here is on a large scale. Physically large trees, ornaments, decorations. There are some "regular" sized stuff but it is in the minority. That being said, as a couple with a normal sized tree, we found some fun stuff to decorate the house. We purchased some porch decorations (colored wire mesh balls with lights inside). We've hung them up and they are awesome. The people who work here are friendly and helpful. It's a busy place (we went on a weekend) and they get people checked out super fast. I asked questions about lights and they knew all the answers. If you like Christmas decorations, even to just get ideas of what you can do at your own home, then check this place out! Yes, we went over to the main building: Lots of books, fake flowers, ribbons (so many ribbons!), gift bags, wrapping paper etc.... Why comes here most of the time? Christmas decorations!

This place is amazing, bountiful, and overwhelming. It's like Christmas exploded in this warehouse. They have every Christmas thing imagine-able in every color and every style. Literally thousands of different ribbons and ornaments. The nice part is that most of the store is organized by color. This place was overwhelming for me, but it's a great place for crafty people or people who know exactly what they want. The prices were ok (not expensive but also not as cheap as I thought). They have a parking lot or you can park on the street.

If you're into decorating or need Christmas inspiration, come here! I originally heard of this place through work last year and was blown away walking through the Christmas section. This is the only place I know to go to if you want GIANT ornaments - giant as in as big as a basketball (& bigger). I bought super cute, sparkly pink ornaments here last year and I think they might be my favorites on my tree. When you're driving around looking at mansions with gorgeous Christmas lights and huge decorations (both inside & out), this is where they go! It's seriously a Christmas wonderland walking through the Christmas section of this place. Their other store, is stuff for everyday. They have floral arrangements, vases, books (tons of them, every category), decor pieces for the house & office, etc! Come check out their books if anything. They have books you'd find at Barnes & Noble for way cheaper (cooking, travel, life books).

This place is amazing! It definitely was a one stop shop for me. I needed to buy all new ornaments for my Christmas tree, and I was able to get everything I needed from the Christmas warehouse while I was there. The great thing about the store, is that they have everything color coordinated, so if you know exactly what you want your tree to look like, is easier to shop for those specific items. They have all different colors and types of ribbons, and all different sizes of ornaments, and have a whole section just for Garland, so you are sure to find exactly what you need. I also went into the other side of the warehouse, and was able to look through all the different decorations that they have. They have a pretty extensive section reading material. The books are great for coffee table, or study bookshelves; they have topics ranging from travel, to cooking, to photography, to fashion, and the prices are really pretty reasonable.

Came here as they were transitioning the store slowly into the fall and Xmas items so it was a bit hard to get a good sense of the place. But there's two parts to the "store". The ribbon selection alone is enough to keep me coming back as it is beautiful and high end. Unfortunately this also means expensive but man if you are looking for something special this is the place. They do have some deals on ribbon if you can find them. The florals were also very good quality. Can't wait to go back when all the holiday stuff is out if anything for the inspiration.

Get your GPS to play nice and you will find this place hidden in the midst of Harwin, you may want to pack of the glock kind. Large blue awning spells their name. Parking another story, be imaging that space and you will find one. As others have said it does reflect Parmer goods, and the selection of books, note cards for friends were atypical of Half-Price books, outstanding selection of Frank Lloyd Wright if you like coffee table books. Root candles, mucho smells enough to require bottled water to drink as you meander (hopefully not with a buggy), too tight. Christmas store was in the process of making the decorations for the City of Sugar Land and this seems to be their deal to market more to the grander side of corporate -- individuals will score items that they would have seen at the Dallas gift market. If you know how to shop then you will know their pricing is high on some items that are comparable to other retail stores and some items are better priced, i.e., their ribbons, same ones you buy at Corneilus but less. Would come back, organized layout, dress way casual, leave the jewels at home.

The shopping aisles are so narrow. My recommendation is for this company to invest in a larger storefront.

Horrible customer service. To me customer service is everything. We parked, we are walking in and a guy stopped us and said $10 for parking, if you buy something you get it back. He basically is forcing us to buy, I was there the day before and they weren't charging. Place is pricey too.

From outdoor pots and sculptures to indoor candles, ribbon, coffee table books and fake flowers this place literally has it all. June 1st they always open their Christmas decoration center too and this place is the most jam packed space of everything Christmas I have ever seen. If you drive through River Oaks at Christmas and wonder where the people are getting their decorations this is the spot. They literally have everything from lighted garland, wreths, ribbon, Santa's sleighs, and other lawn decorations. There is also a pretty decent amount of Hanukkah decorations too. Think of this place as a Hobby Lobby on crack and with much higher level of goods. You can easily spend hours walking up and down the aisles looking at all the stuff they have. I went place for the first time last Saturday. The store can be a overwhelming, but the staff was very attentive which made it manageable. Pros: A very helpful staff, an amazing selection to satisfy anyone's personal taste. Cons: location is hidden, bulk buying ( example no 25 feet ribbon only 25 yards, not one gift bag, a dozen)

I came here looking for homecoming mum supplies (ribbon mainly) and was in awe of the amount of ribbon! Some of it was a little high, but the acetate ribbon was very worth it! The ribbon is in the far left corner walls of the store. But there are at least 10 aisles of it! DO NOT let the outside of the building fool you, it is a florist's paradise. There were tons and tons of silk flowers, wrapping supplies, books, and ribbon. My friend I came with was concerned about the exterior looking very sketch, however there is a parking lot we finally saw once we circled the block and it was much more inviting. The lady in the ribbon department was also very helpful when I asked her questions about specific ribbons and ribbon widths. But be forewarned; some of the books can be expensive. One was $400! Not sure who has $400 to spend on a coffee table decoration, but it's not me! All in all; this place is awesome for a florist. And has some of the best priced acetate ribbon in Houston for wholesale! I will surly be back again (if I ever run out after buying somewhere around 200-300 yards!)!

You can't beat Craftex for quality and variety. I've been there a good number of times and I am sure that I haven't seen it all - craft supplies for all seasons, deluxe artificial flowers and plants, ribbon, cookbooks, serving pieces, pottery, etc and then to top it off, the most fabulous Christmas store. If you like to decorate large, this is the place for you. It will really get you in the holiday mood!

If you like Christmas stuff, you'll love this place. Although it wasn't as wonderful as described to me, and I didn't end up buying anything. One one side of the place has lots of books, and ribbon, and fake flowers. On the other side is a huge warehouse full of Christmas stuff. Which, if you own a huge home, this place is perfect. Most of the stuff, I found way too big for my own house, and the prices weren't that great compared to Michael's or Hobby Lobby. They had huge Santa sleighs in front for purchase, and yard stuff galore. They also had lots and lots of big decorations for big Christmas trees. In the end, it turns out, I drove out to a seedy side of town, and wasn't impressed.

Titles I have only heard about but have never seen in any bookstore. The prices are pretty good for the most part since so many of the books are special and unique.
