What once was the Limestone Grille has been updated and remodeled into a modern American restaurant, complete with an industrial, farmhouse design scheme. Wrought iron pipes with lamps suspended from them hung from the ceiling, which has been opened up to the rafters. Old carpeting has given way to dark, weathered-looking wooden plank floors, and formal dining tables and chairs have been replaced by casual, cushioned chairs.
The menu has also been completely updated, and also features an extensive list of whiskeys, 20 beer taps and potent cocktail menu.
We visited the Craftsman recently after work one day, just to replace a bit. We were sat immediately, and didn't order immediately as we weren't starving. My wife got a couple drinks, we she liked a lot.
The new look is beautiful. Has the whole arts and crafts movement style to it and it really is a beautiful place, inside and out. We were able to sit on the patio and enjoy a sunny day, but be in the shade and not get too warm.
Eventually, my wife decided to order a charcuterie board and I, being a wing lover and on the recommendation of our server, got an order if their wings, wood fired with their "special sauce", which our server described as an everything sauce.
Food came relatively quickly. My wife enjoyed her board, very good cheese and salami on it. The wings we just alright for me. I prefer my wings on the crispy side, but wanted to try the wood fired option, and unfortunately, it left the skin on the wings a tad slimey and soft. The sauce was okay, but I probably would've enjoyed just getting deep fried, hot buffalo style instead. Very expensive too, $12 for only 6 wings. They were a good size, but that's still pretty expensive.
Our server was very friendly and professional. Drinks were good and prices fairly. It's not a bad place, but we didn't love it. Probably better suited as a place to have some drinks after work with a group of friends.
