We’ve wanted to stay at this magnificent place for many years and we finally got there this month. I’m rating this place 10/10 for everything. First up Damian took us through a wine tasting which was the best one we’ve ever done (& I can tell you we’ve done heaps). Then we dined in their restaurant and it was first class and definitely in our top five dining experiences ever. Thanks to Ruth and Eileen for their service and laughs. You two were sensational. We then topped that with an overnighter in one of the cabins onsite. Holy Cow - absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend Craggy Range highly enough. As Molly once said - do yourself a favour, you won’t regret it for a second.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 days here. It was wonderful. Tranquil. Everyone was awesome. Damien (Dame-o) gave a tremendous wine tasting guide. The area was great for walking. The fresh food and juices and coffee were wonderful in the morning. We had such a great stay that if we come back to New Zealand, we might not explore the rest of the country, we might just stay at Craggy Range in Hawke's Bay. Oh, go to the top of Te Mata (sp) and you can look down on the winery. Very cool.

We’ve visited quite a few vineyards, but the giants estate wine tasting experience at Craggy Range with Damian was easily the best wine experience we’ve ever had. His passion and storytelling brought the wines to life.. the way he shared the stories made the whole tasting unforgettable. It wasn’t just about the wine, it was about feeling connected to the vineyard and its craft. Dinner at the restaurant was equally impressive. The plating was beautiful, and the dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. The venison tartare and the duck breast were standouts.. truly truly sublime. Craggy Range has completely raised the bar for us. An unforgettable wine and dining experience that we’d recommend to anyone.

We absolutely have to stop by Craggy Range whenever we're in Napier — it's a must. The accommodations are always amazing, the food is delicious, and the wine pairings are absolutely outstanding. This time, we visited specifically to check out the new restaurant. While it wasn’t open yet, we were still impressed by the stunning decor, inviting ambiance, and unbeatable location. We'll definitely be back soon to experience it properly — can't wait!

I had an unforgettable experience at the winery, thanks to two amazing people who truly made my visit special. First, Michael — what an incredible tour guide! He gave me a fantastic tour of the winery followed by a wine tasting that I’ll never forget. He’s extremely knowledgeable, passionate about what he does, and made the whole experience engaging and fun. You can tell he really knows his stuff. Then at the restaurant, I was lucky to be served by Samantha. She was absolutely lovely — warm, attentive, and professional. Her service was impeccable from start to finish, and she added such a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable. All in all, an amazing visit thanks to the wonderful team. Highly recommended!

Craggy Range is simply breathtaking – the setting alone makes it worth a visit, with stunning views that create such a special atmosphere. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, and the staff were absolutely wonderful – attentive, warm, and welcoming from start to finish. The wine list is exceptional, with a beautiful selection that showcases the best of the region, and the cocktails were just as impressive. Craggy Range is a must-visit in Hawke’s Bay – an unforgettable combination of scenery, food, wine, and hospitality.

Had an amazing time at Craggy Range! The wine tasting was both fun and educational staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. We also had lunch at the restaurant and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the set menu with wine pairing perfect if you’re not sure what to order. Beautiful location, great service, and a must-visit spot in Napier. Truly a 5-star experience!

Utterly fantastic experience, from the self catered breakfast in the room (bacon, eggs, cheese, fresh sourdough every morning, Milk, cereal, etc all from local suppliers.) to the spotless rooms and the super attentive staff (who all made us feel like we were the only guests on the property) |The villa was set among the grape vines and over looked the river, it had all modern conveniences, ducted heating and a gas fire for ambience. The outside fireplace with seating and dining area was great for a cooler evening and the huge selection of wine available in room. |We attended our friends 50th birthday during our stay which was an intimate private function in the wine cellar, amazing atmosphere and again very attentive staff. ||Thanks for a memorable time Craggy :) you should all be proud of what you offer your guests

Yelp
An amazing experience and beautiful location. Not only was the team exceptional but the accommodations were amazing. I highly recommend this as part of your New Zealand journey. The Giants tour was beyond amazing and once in a lifetime experience, follow that with lunch at the restaurant. Just wow!

Yelp
Wow, just wow in every way. If you are planning a tasting trip through Napier, I strongly recommend putting this at the top of your list. It was the final winery we visited but by far the most comprehensive experience and ultimately our favorite. The tasting room and winery grounds are breathtaking, especially with the craggy looking mountain range in the backdrop, appropriately named! The outside has a generous parking lot with a beautiful color blocked design to the tasting room and restaurant. We stopped by the tasting room first which had a large wooden tasting bar and warm red painted walls. The large windows open up to reveal the vineyards and lush green grounds. We enjoyed a tasting and particularly liked the Riesling and the Syrah. We decided to have lunch out on the restaurant patio which overlooks the beautiful green lawn, the pond with relaxing water features, and of course the beautiful mountain range. The setting is picturesque and one of the highlights of our trip. I ordered steak and the husband had a chicken main and they were presented like works of art. They were almost too beautiful too eat, but when we did they were amazing. We also had a side of potatoes which were crispy and delicious. This is an absolute must see and plan to dine here if you're a foodie, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Just finished a meal at Craggy Range winery. It was a meal to remember. Seven diners and we ordered a little of everything. The steak was perfect, the fish was tremendous and the veal was fantastic. The cream spinach might have been the best part of the meal. A member of our party is a restaurant owner and he thought this could be the best restaurant he has ever eaten at. Every part of the meal was excellent. Gemma our server was top notch as well. Couldn't give this restaurant a higher rating. Five star in every aspect.

Yelp
I dragged my boyfriend here for an afternoon of wine tasting and education. Craggy Range was our last stop in Hastings and omg I am so happy we made it here. The grounds are gorgeous, the tasting room is picturesque, and the wine is incredible! After working in wine in Northern California, I was excited to be tasting in New Zealand's famous wine region of Hawkes Bay. The employees were friendly but also super busy. They gave us a tasting with some education and facts about the wines, but didn't stick around long enough to have a conversation or for us to ask any questions. The experience was mediocre as we couldn't really get personalised attention, but the wines were tasty and we got to catch up with each other. It seems a lot of the wineries taste their "tropical" Sauv Blancs, which was interesting to me. The region is known for those crisp acidic Sauv Blancs, but they are trying to do something innovating and new by aging their SB in oaks and getting it to taste like pineapple juice. I wasn't so much a fan of that, but the Pinot Gris was done well and the reds were spot on. We left the tasting room without buying anything, not because we didn't like the wines, but because as soon as we were poured our last wine, the attendant disappeared. We didn't see him again! After working in the industry I can understand how this happens but was still a bit disappointed in the service. Nonetheless, if you're looking for some good wines to sip and a date with a friend (or more), I would recommend Craggy Range. They had a good selection of wines, my favorite being the Pinot Gris and a couple of the reds. The tasting room is beautiful and they have the option of standing or sitting for your tasting, and the tastings are free.

Yelp
The most beautiful setting of all the wineries we went to. The restaurant is quite nice with a lively outside seating area and a cozy fireplace inside. The food was quite this too, though pricey - 35$ about for each main. But worth the view of the lake, mountains and Vineyard.

Yelp
I visited today with my fiancé and had a fabulous time! Matthew was wonderful and spent undistracted time describing each individual wine, explaining the history and the future of the Vineyard, and had a special, educational story to go with each glass of wine he served us. Highly recommend!
