This was a great place to stop and have lunch at. I had the Chicken Ranch Wrap and I would say it was one of the best I have ever had. There was lots of chicken not coated with anything and lots of bacon. My friend had the Ahi Tuna Tacos and they were full of strips of seared tuna and were delicious. We both had the Butternut Bacon soup and it was tasty as well.

Lunch out at Craig Street Brew Pub! Excellent service and the food portions were huge. I think the Caesar Salad needs a different dressing as it was very bland. Other than that the food was really good! Not much parking even for on a late Wednesday morning. I really enjoyed the entire experience !

Spring salad was a bit wilty, and the tomato tasted like goat cheese—maybe it was handled near it or stored together? The blackberry dressing was amazing! The beef dip was decent, and the service was excellent.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch. It was a late lunch so it wasn’t very busy. The food was really good. I had the tuna tacos and was pleasantly surprised. It was a good portion of tuna and perfectly cooked. My husband had the gourmet burger. Oh my goodness it was huge, but it did look delicious and he said it was. Our server, Cameron was fabulous which made the experience even better. Would highly recommend!

I have been to this pub a handful of times and have always been very happy with my overall experience. However my most recent experience was a real disappointment. Great place as always with amazing staff, service was excellent. However the food was shockingly bad, I got the Craig st burger as always and wow, what a decline in quality! A tiny amount of fries that looked like they were scraped off another diners plate of left overs, the were cold and unseasoned. I realize times are hard right now but this place is not cheap and cost cutting by reducing portions is a sure way to cancel repeat business. As for the burger, can't really say much since there really wasn't much taste to comment on, it was bland and also on the cold side. Been to this place many times but alas, the good service is not enough on its own to bring me back. It's disappointing, I used to really like this joint, I'll be going to Just Jake's next door and hopefully they will fill that gap for my next dining experience.

Google
It's a nice place but regardless of whether it's really busy or not, or you have a reservation or just walking in, it's going to take forever to get your food. Want a burger? Waiting at least 45 minutes. Steak or dinner? Over an hour. And it's probably not going to be right, so if you have any add-ons, remember to check your bill so you don't get charged. We keep going back hoping it'll be different but we always come away unimpressed...

Yelp
We were a party of 5 people. We didn't have a reservation and we wanted to sit at the patio. The server did bend over backward for us and got us a patio roof table. It was a nice little pub that also made their own craft beer. They are located in Duncan. I was told before coming here their crispy chick sandwich is the best. We ordered a 2 appetizers to share: calamari and crispy buffalo chicken. I got a virgin lemonade and the crispy chicken sandwich. The food was good given the fact that it is located in a small town. I found the lemonade a bit watered down. It was quite tasteless or maybe it had too much ice. The calamari was very tasty. It wasn't like super crispy but you can tell that the calamari was very fresh. It was not chewy. The crispy buffalo chicken was super spicy. Good thing it had ranch on the side to dilute the spiciness. The chicken wasn't very crispy. The chicken was a bit dry. The chicken sandwich was ok. It wasn't wow wow. They did flattened the chicken before breading it in panko and then deep frying it. The chicken was more on the dry end. I liked how it was served very hot. So you know it was made upon order. I wished they added more sauce to the burger. They were generous on the cheese. The chicken was crispy and not oily. I had my burger with onion rings for an extra $2. They were very generous on the onion rings. They didn't have any special sauce for the onion rings. They served with ketchup. Most places served it with chipotle mayo. I would say food was more on the lower end of 3 and service was 4 stars. I believe Craig Street is one of the two bigger restaurants in the small downtown of Duncan. Good thing is that there are plenty of free parking everywhere. It is definitely a good meeting/hangout spot with friends.

Yelp
We were disappointed in some of the menu changes. No steak option anymore. Asked if Just Jake's next door still had steak and it has been removed from both menu's.

Yelp
Good food, really great servers. Good vegetarian options. $15 per pitcher on Tuesdays. They don't serve IPAs tho, just FYI. We sat outside on the patio with our dog. 3/10 for outside chairs. 10/10 for nongendered, single stall bathroom. Great little totem tour right outside (just follow the painted steps on the sidewalks)

Yelp
Food was mediocre at best went to a brewpub for a beer and a burger. After waiting 25 minutes Our food showed up before our drinks. The bartenders is more concerned about looking good than making a drink and the establishment is probably losing out on 50% of their profits because of it..... or they don't care. Or they're just not capable of training proper staff.

Yelp
I came here with my grandpa for lunch a few days ago and the experience overall was a positive one. I like the way that the inside of the pub is set up and the decor is nice. Seating is pretty comfortable and there is plenty of distance between you and the other tables which is always a plus. Service was good - our server was courteous and got the job done, so absolutely no complaints there. The food was good. I ordered a mexi black bean wrap with sweet potato fries. I was impressed with the amount of ingredients they put into the wrap. It was a decent size which made for a hearty and filling meal. The ingredients meshed well together and it was satisfying. I do wish it had been seasoned a little bit more though as I found it slightly (just ever so slightly) on the bland side. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the chipotle mayonnaise that they served it with. They have a small selection of beers on tap which was a bit disappointing for my grandpa, but I was happy that they offered some local craft brews so I opted for the IPA (can't remember the name of it, but it was good and I'd certainly recommend it). The prices are also reasonable. My plate was only $10.00 for all of that food!! I would definitely come back here again the next time that I am in the Duncan area.

Yelp
Went again 7 days after finding a hair in my salmon bowl only to order their pasta bowl with chorizo. The pasta came stone cold so they took it back and reheated it. I see they were complaining about the lack of business yet I come there and get shitty food. Their front staff are excellent although the hair should have warranted a discount, but it appears the kitchen staff leave alot to be desired. They onwners of The Craig should fix it before they lose it. I doubt I'll be back

Yelp
Room looked nice. Sat down at table neat to a post. Mived table 8 inches so I could be comfortable and girl that looked like she wasnt old enough to serve alcohol got critical at me for moving table. Since one adult did not have ID we were asked to leave. She never suggested their restaurant next door. Whrn we went to their restaurant we were not treated ant better. I read lots of reviews about amazing service but can't agree. Their sister brewry Red Arrow on the other hand has great service and we even better beer. Go there instead.

Yelp
Waited for over five minutes waiting for a waitress that never came. A couple of them even looked right at us and walked away. We had to get up and leave because it seemed like they were not going to come serve us, need some more mature staff in their. Won't be coming back here.

Hannah A.

Yelp
i was here with my family & it was pretty busy which i can definitely sympathize with but even after it died down our server was still barely coming to our table. half the time our drinks were empty and we had to actually go looking for someone when we needed stuff. the french onion soup was bad, i do not recommend. the rest of the food was good, the staff all together was pretty nice.

Yelp
Best fries I've ever had, punctual service and it was open on Sunday! Nothing bad to say!

Yelp
I have been coming here for three years and it is always great. They prepare pub food with love and add their own twist. I have said it so often but the soups are worth coming the visit. Duncan should be happy that Craig Street Brewery is an anchor to the town.

Yelp
Delicious food, great beer, friendly service... couldn't really ask for anything more!

Yelp
Stopped in here this week for lunch and it was fantastic , loved the mussels in coconut cream sauce and your burgers were a hit . Great prices for lunch as it was burger and beer for 12$ can't beat that. Service was excellent , we will be back and would totally recommend everyone to stop in and try

Yelp
Wow! We were surprised to find this level of food quality, service, and ambience in this small town. (Sorry, Duncan, I was wrong about you...).. Our usual favorites when traveling south Vancouver Island - Crow And Gate near Nanaimo, and Bridgeman's at Mill Bay were too busy, so we tried this place. Attentive, friendly service, and all 4 of us had outstanding meals. Lots of great choices on the menu, and nearly all have the option of a smaller serving. Probably the best Beef Dip I have ever had, and Calimari appy was awesome! The beer is pretty great too!

Yelp
Cool in Duncan. I have been to the Craig St Brew Pub many times since it opened. It is the only place in Duncan that can actually be called hip. More a statement on Duncan I suppose. The only thing I consistently order is the Beef Dip. It is very good with lots of well seasoned tender shaved beef on the nice bun with a not too salty aus jus. The beer is well made and tasty. Just Jakes rest next door shares the kitchen and has a slightly different menu but I prefer the brew pub as it is actually quieter then Just Jakes at off times. The service can be a tad slow at times and the younger wait staff sometimes want to spend more time talking amongst themselves then looking after you, but this is has more to do with the age of the staff and not a comment on The Craig Street BrewPub

Yelp
We stopped on the way down island from Comox to Victoria. A friend recommended it. We were seated at a nice table by the window. It was 2:30pm so there were only a few other tables there. We ordered the fish tacos and clubhouse with fries. The food came quickly. It was...meh. The sandwich was very "utilitarian". Mediocre at best. The fish tacos come unassembled which sounds kind of fun but really it's just messy and I wasn't given a spare plate to eat over. I would have asked for one as well as another drink if our server had EVER come back to check on us. She didn't. When she finally came back, she cleared my plate and then asked me if I'd like another drink. I WOULD have 10 minutes ago but it's a bit late now. I would have understood a little more if it had been even remotely busy but it really really wasn't. Just an off day for service I guess. Shame though, because we likely won't be back.

Yelp
I was taken here for dinner and it's hard to write a negative review for a meal where you were a guest, but man... my meal sucked. I do see that another reviewer has said, "For Duncan, this is as good as it gets." That might be true, but being from a bigger city I am used to having higher-quality food. I went to Craig Street Brew Pub for dinner on a Sunday night. It was around 6:30 when we arrived, and the place was nearly empty on every floor. I also felt that it was quite dusty, and there were a number of fruit flies buzzing around our table. Our server was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, so I can't complain about the service at all. I was really happy to open the menu and see that there were a number of vegetarian choices. My companion and I wanted to start with an appetizer, so we had chips and salsa. Unfortunately the "salsa cruda" contained way more onions than tomatoes, and the tri-coloured tortilla chips were just starting to go stale. For my main dish I had the Santa Fe Veggie Burger, which was their normal veggie pattie (clearly made with love by Sysco) with some additional southwestern-style toppings. The "corn and black bean salsa" seemed to just be a few kernals of corn and a couple black beans that had been melted into a giant wedge of Monterey Jack cheese that had already slipped halfway off the burger when it arrived at the table. It was the kind of food I would have expected from a university cafeteria. The fries were also clearly from a giant bag of frozen, factory-cut fries. At the table I also saw the taco salad, which looked like something from Wendys, and the popcorn shrimp, which were coated in the same tri-coloured tortilla chips that also graced the taco salad. It felt like every possible corner had been cut and every possible penny had been pinched. For people who normally eat fast food, Craig Street Brew Pub might be a good place to go for table service, as the food would be quite familiar. But for people who are adept at home cooking, or have eaten at other pub-style or family restaurants, try to find somewhere else to eat.

Yelp
Best nachos in town. Had the calamari last night which was excellent! The seasonal beer is called London Rouge and wasn't a favorite....the Shawnigan is always the best.

Kelly H.

Yelp
For Duncan, this is as good as it gets. It's downtown, not on the strip and they have beer. As a brewpub, they brew beer on site, and it is pretty decent, but it isn't amazing. Don't go there if your looking for a nice IPA, they have more "traditional" brews. Funny that a west coast brew pub doesn't even have a the quintessential west coast brew, oh well, this is Duncan. Food is your standard pub fair, with a bit (and just a little bit) of flair. It is decent food and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Never have had a bad experience at Craig Street. Always clean and fairly quiet. Good place to meet up for lunch.

Yelp
Good food and craft beer. Nice pub to hang out with friends and catch up. I had the 5 beer sampler with pizza.

Shop L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Good main courses, but appetizer menu could use some work as has too much greasy fried food. Their gourmet cheese toast is just two toasted pieces of dry french bread with a touch of dry cheese on top for close to $10. The cocktails here are inconsistent and not the best.

Yelp
Great pub grub and good atmosphere. Their own beer in house.Live music on some weekends too.The red hot and blue burger makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Yelp
Myself and two friends went to the pub on Friday night and shared the crab dip, crap cakes and calamari. 24 hours later all of us, within 1 hour of each other were extremely ill. So bad that 2 of us spend most of Sunday in the hospital (just how I was wanting to spend my birthday). Once being released from the hospital each of us called to let the pub know we were sick (we didn't want them serving tainted food and others feeling like us). The owner was not in so we spoke to the manager that was on duty. She seemed annoyed with the fact that we were letting her know about our ailments, showing zero sympathy or empathy. After she knew we'd just got out of the hospital she continued to tell us that we were wrong with it being food poisoning and that it was just a flu that was going around, as 12 of their employees were sick as well. We did not self diagnose ourselves, we left that to be done by the nurses and doctors at the Cowichan District Hospital and our diagnosis from the doctor treating us was severe food poisoning. Just to appease our phone call the manager stated she would check with the kitchen and their food. I don't actually believe this is something that happened simply from the manner I was being treated with during our call. We asked when the owner would be in and she said she didn't know. We will be coming to speak with the owner. One of us currently is waiting a call back from VIHA regarding the tainted food and the other two are proceeding to call VIHA and report this as well first thing Monday morning.

Yelp
I have never visited this establishment in the evening, but have been coming here with family members for nearly four years. We have all found that several food items are so awesome, that we find ourselves reordering in stead of trying something new. We find the food is very well prepared, French fries are very freshly cooked and not sitting under lights. I particularly like the Craft Brewed Beer, esp. Cowichan Bay Lager. The Servers are very friendly and attentive to their customers, very quickly removing items from the table when they are no longer required. The appearance is quaint and rustic, with a huge wood burning fireplace. In the finer weather there is an outdoor patio on the top floor, which is quite unique. There seems to be a varied cross section of patrons, who all seem very happy to be dining therein. I have always enjoyed dining here and never have had a bad experience. i will continue dining here every time I am in Duncan. Added to this, a very short distance away is a large parking lot, with very inexpensive parking fees. Trevor C. Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Yelp
Great food, tasty fresh beer and excellent service! What more could you ask for? We also had a chance to chat with the owner and she was delightful! I am a picky person, but could find no faults with this place. Will definitely drop in again next time I'm over that way. Cheers!
