Kinda the Cheers of breakfast spots in Quincy. The owner is a down to earth good guy. Joel the cook in the back is rugged sob but is the man and knows how to cook anything. And Jackie is the beautiful rose if this joint. Its a great spot to catch up with a friend, talk to a stranger or just enjoy a nice warm meal from good people that run it. They try to do a great job with their food so if you are not happy with something tell it to them so they could fix it. Don't run on here and leave a piss poor review. Lets support local small businesses.

Love this cafe. They offer outside seating with umbrellas, self served bottomless coffee and delicious fresh food. They have specials which my daughter and I ordered. The avocado toast was served with your any way you like it egg and bread. I got the sourdough bread and over easy egg, highly recommended! My daughter ordered their taco bowl. Service was friendly, got seated right away. Waitress was pleasant. Definitely will come back!

So this was my first time here, My daughter had a cheese burger and fries and she enjoyed it. I had the 2 eggs and corned beef hash. At first it came out on the burnt side but the very nice waitress replaced it with a less burnt one. The eggs are delicious would definitely get them without cheese next time. I am not a fan of the corned beef hash, the flavor is over-powered by pepper which gives it a kick, but my taste buds didnt enjoy the flavor. If you like spicy corned beef hash definitely try it. All and all the service was great the waitress was sooo nice and even the cook was nice. I will definitely come back and try something different.

Google
3.9 star. Nice spot, the food was good.I need more flavor on the potatoes maybe the egg too. But nice vibe, the food did take forever to come out but I think they were short staffed( I would give this place another try tho). 1) Vermont Benedict

Google
Solid Breakfast Spot. Ordered the special, filet and eggs, usually get the breakfast sandwich with a side of sweet potatoes homefries (highly recommend). Friendly staff and food was surprisingly fast. They can get busy at peak times, but no complaints today. Nice outdoor seating options as well. Would recommend

Google
Nice cozy cafe for breakfast. I think they close after 2 pm or something, so just a breakfast cafe. They have self-service coffee, so you pay for one and then you can refill it for free. I did not refill mine because one was enough, but our server said that we had unlimited free coffee refill. Double check that when you go there 😉 I recommend this place a 100%

Google
Friendly staff and delicious food. I came on a weekday morning so service was quick and only a brief wait for food to arrive. Asked the waiter what was recommended and was offered several options based on what Iwas feeling. Eventually settled on the crab cake benny + side of sweet potato home fries, iced coffee, and a sausage e&c on a Portuguese sweet bun. Benedict was perfect with just the right amount of kick. Home fries weren't cooked to caramelization, which actually worked well texturally in contast with the crab cake. Likewise, the Portuguese bun was a nicely sweet compliment to the otherwise savory bfast sando. Iced coffee was generously large, the size of a Dunkin medium. For those wondering, the other recommendations were the chicken & waffles (special), Irish benny, Vermont benny, and bananas foster pancake or French toast.

Google
I was in the area and hungry and found this place on a quick search of Google Maps. It was the closest and I really needed some food and coffee, so I decided to just go for it. Glad I did. This place is a gem! First, they offer a coffee station up front with 8 different flavors. It’s a serve yourself kind of thing, so when you need a refill just go. The s’mores flavor is hands down the best. Such a unique blend. Food came out super fast. I ordered the California Benedict which was exactly what I wanted. (No tomato on mine, by choice). The home fries were tasty and hot, without being overly crispy or salty. The prices on the menu as well were amazingly good, making this place a great deal. Most dishes are $8.99 and under, so I was pleasantly surprised when my coffee and Benedict came out to $11.98 total before tip. Definitely coming back! And bringing all my friends.

Christine D.

Yelp
The only thing missing off of the menu are mimosas-which I hate. So the food is delicious. 5 stars.

Mary-Ann L.

Yelp
Love this cafe. They offer outside seating with umbrellas, self served bottomless coffee and delicious fresh food. They have paintings from local artists hung on walls for sale.

Yelp
YUMMY! We came for weekend brunch and it was super busy, so food and service was slow. However, it was well worth it. We both cleaned our plates. I recommend sitting outside for very good people-watching. We got the mimosa flight, and I'd recommend the mango and peach flavors for sure. It's $20 for three glasses. The chicken and waffles were sooooo good. Usually they're dry, bone-in, or not cohesive, but these were texturally perfect. The Irish Benedict was also amazing - their hollandaise is very good, and the corned beef was perfectly salty. The home fries were ok, but I think they are just hit or miss wherever you go. The bathroom is in kind of a weird place, but it's also fine. Definitely recommend if you're in Quincy Center.

Yelp
Self serve coffee and several options of good quality. Indoor and outdoor dining and I ordered a bacon and mushroom hash, scrambled eggs and rye toast They have a daily creative breakfast special list. Food hit the five star level as well as service. Also local artisans sell their paintings which are on display. If in Quincy MA make Craig's Cafe a breakfast stop. Enjoy!

John H.

Yelp
Craig's cafe is a low key, no frills spot that is good for breakfast. They have all your classics and the food gets the job done. I had the talk of the town breakfast sandwich and my wife had the breakfast burrito. Both were pretty standard dishes, what you would expect from a typical diner. From a value standpoint, it was a decent amount of food for the price. I thought the service was friendly and had that family business feel. They only had one cook when we went so food did take a little longer so not a place where you want to go if you are in a hurry. I did notice the floor inside was a bit dirty with food which I typically wouldn't comment on but my little one was running around and I couldn't help but notice. If a local diner, hole on the wall experience is what you are looking for and you aren't in too much of a hurry, Craig's is a decent choice.

Kahla B.

Yelp
Oops. Forgot to complete this review. Well i like this place. Great service. A very close small town fell to this place. The food and customer service are great. It's a breakfast and brunch spot and they treat you like they've known you forever. Fresh squeezed OJ is mmmm . Bananas foster French toast, pancakes sausages or a buffalo chicken sandwich you will be satisfied no matter what you choose!!

John N.

Yelp
What is up with tater tots in a $16 breakfast? Served in a deep bowl making it difficult to eat? Come on do better.

Jordan Z.

Yelp
Chef made a smores pancake (not on the menu) for my 6 yr old niece, waitress hand-squeezed lemonade for my true adult, fully grown brother. Jayden (3 and a half) asked for "lots of extra cream cheese." What arrived? The tower of cheese-a. Eclipsed the kid's face. The kitchen and wait staff's whole vibe is above and beyond. Our waitress was unflappable, patient, kind, and attentive. Our fam skews needy and everyone at Craig's made sure Vivi had a knock out birthday brunch. Thanks all around, five stars.

Adrienne W.

Yelp
I ordered Lilly's sandwich with a side of sausage. My friend ordered a different breakfast with a side of corned beef hash. My sausages were gray in color, not browned at all and her hash was burned. The sandwiches were okay but I will not be eating here again. Very disappointing

Ashley J.

Yelp
Host was not attentive when I came in this morning. Saw me but took at least 5 minutes to greet and seat. I was the only one waiting in line.

Antoinette S.

Yelp
As usual looking for a place on Yelp for brunch/ breakfast and found Craig's cafe in Quincy MA. Small quaint place n not that fancy. Great reviews on Yelp so thought we'd try it. Was a great choice. Friendly welcoming staff. We ordered the hot chocolate which was really good. My hubby got coffee n he enjoyed it. We got Leo's hash w toasted Portuguese roll, hurricane hash w white toast n California Benedict. Thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of food. Left a clean plate. Good sized portions. Tx u Craig's cafe for a yummy brunch. Will certainly stop by when we r in the area again.

Christian T.

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos! Seems like a local spot with a lot of locals coming in an out! Would recommended to anyone in the Quincy area! I ordered an oat milk latte and breakfast burrito and it was all made with fresh ingredients

Joao D.

Yelp
The wait was outrageous and some lack of service although the young women was really nice and the young man who was clearing the tables. Food was okay, the coffee station was empty expect the decaf. I don't think I'll be back there if I have plans afterwards.

Sean B.

Yelp
Terrible. I had the Irish Benedict with potatoes. The eggs yolks were well done/hard; the potatoes were stuck together - the cook probably did not move them around while cooking them, and they were tasteless; and the corned beef hash was burnt in some parts. The coffee was good, but it's a very small mug, and it's self serve.

Kim D.

Yelp
Service was terrible. Our order took almost an hour. I had to follow up with the servers twice! The servers, on two separate occasions, asked us back what we ordered. We were only 3 total so I don't imagine it'd be difficult to remember our orders. When I looked around, none of the other customers had their food either. The food was definitely not worth the wait. My friend was served cold mashed potatoes and undercooked sausages. Oh, and hot coffees, although bottomless, are now self serving! I'm not sure what has changed since my last visit but it was one of our worst brunch experiences.

Mark T.

Yelp
Heard about this place (via the wonderful internet) since I moved to the South Shore. Finally when opening the fridge yielded cobwebs, I decided to check Craig's out. For some reason, when I initially heard of it, I thought it would be something fancy-ish. Turns out, it's a pretty homey, down to earth place. Wouldn't call it a greasy spoon, but it also isn't one of those hip places that serves an avocado toast with pomegranate seeds. I ordered the Hurricane poached egg plate. It's a combination of a lot of ingredients, yet they all play together quite well. The veggies and potatoes were cooked and chopped very nicely and not at all greasy. Poached egg was cooked nicely as well! The sausage is in links, which is interesting considering the state of everything else. Though I'm not complaining. Also, bear in mind, the salsa and sour cream are not spread throughout, make sure you grab some bites as you go. I did find the buffalo aioli a little sharp and acidic for my taste, but if it is based on hollandaise, that is understandable. I did like the light kick of the buffalo though. The service was quick and attentive. Coffee was nothing remarkable, nor do I think it's supposed to be. Overall, everything pretty much meets my expectations. Something a little different, yet not pretentious. Good flavors, and reasonable prices considering the location.

Yelp
I understand that breakfast on a late Sunday morning might take a while to get to the table, but we waited more than 30 minutes for two plates of eggs, hash browns, and toast. Sitting under umbrellas on the patio on a lovely day made the wait tolerably pleasant, but when the food arrived, my poached eggs and her over-easy eggs were both undercooked. Translucent whites aren't fun to eat. Worse, my poached eggs had a pronounced sour taste - a sign of far too much vinegar in the poaching water. The waitress took our feedback graciously and relayed it to the single short-order cook working that day. Craig's showed signs of serious understaffing yesterday. Given the full tables, I'll bet the food is competently prepared when the restaurant is fully staffed.

Bridget N.

Yelp
Iced coffee is really terribly burnt and undrinkable. Not a deal breaker. The owner chooses to cook solo, so we waited 45 minutes for 2 eggs Benedict's before having to walk out. We weren't the only table that walked out, so it might be best to consider hiring a second set of hands. Servers were great, though. Now we are off to play golf on an empty stomach. Thanks, Craig's!

Yelp
Hello Yelp Community of Massachusetts! On this fine day, me and my husband Alex were discussing a little breakfast date for the two of us. I requested Taco Bell, but he stumbled upon Craig's, and forced me to try it. Nothing craves a mama's breadbasket like a chalupa wrap, so my babe was already down a point. We walked into this establishment, greeted by a young woman. We sat down, I requested an extra chair to support my weight which they approved. We began our order with a cup of coffee, shared by our love. Our lips caressed the mug as we sipped. I ordered the breakfast special, and Alex ordered Eggs on Rye. The waitress brought our food out in a lickety-split! The special was a bit lukewarm, but I enjoyed the Eggs on Rye! Alex ate the special, and he enjoyed it! The bill was quite affordable, and we let the waitress keep the change! Craig was not in the establishment as we dined, so I had to nick a star! Overall, we enjoyed our dine, and maybe we'll be back for our honeymoon!

Kendall D.

Yelp
Overall, I've really enjoyed most of the food I've tried from here! It's mostly on the level of comfort/diner/family owned cafe food which sometimes is exactly what I'm looking for!! Definitely recommend the benedicts, they do a great poached egg and a perfect hollandaise! I have also had the pancakes, quite filling because the portions are large so a good go-to if you're looking for a homestyle giant pancake! The home fries are also awesome! My personal favorite that I keep going back for is the California Benedict! Finally--appreciate the very friendly staff and the spacious outdoor seating! It tends to be a busy place even on weekdays for a good reason!

Jerry C.

Yelp
Had a terrific Saturday lunch before a rained out outdoor orchestra pops concert. The food was wonderful. Although we felt the service was a little slow, it was a nice place to relax, talk, and have a great meal--two variations on eggs Benedict. We'll absolutely come back again!

Robina C.

Yelp
The food is always fresh and available. I love the prices it affordable for the everyday person. I like that it is Christian owned and operated. They offer catering that can't be beat. The food is always amazing. I enjoyed eating outside on the sidewalk it's comfortable and run great inside and outside.

Timothy G.

Yelp
This is a nice little cafe. It fills up fast, so be prepared to wait a bit. The wait is well worth it! The servers are very friendly and the make you feel welcome. The food and delicious and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I visited Craig's Cafe several times while in Quincy and I highly recommend you do the same, if you are in the area. One word sums it up...."Fantastic"

Anna M.

Yelp
Came here for a quick brunch nearby the area. Came on a Thursday around 10AM and it wasn't packed at all- which was great! Parking is quite tricky though because it's street parking only and it's usually packed around this area. I ended up parking in front of the library and walked over (1 hour parking limit). The hot coffee is self serve and bottomless. I love how they have so many different coffee options but I wish the cups were bigger so I didn't have to get up so often (might be annoying for coffee lovers!) I got my usual sunny eggs, home fries, white toast, and sausage. This is my go-to and it was delicious! The server was really nice and we received great service here! I would definitely come here again for a quick brunch!

Ashlynn B.

Yelp
Craigs cafe had amazing food, incredible service, Would highly recommend!!! Bananas foster French toast is the BOMB.

Sue W.

Yelp
Fun relaxed environment. Best waitress ever. Had breakfast on December 23rd around 11;00 AM,

Lisa I.

Yelp
Love the food and service! The self serve coffee station is fun, so many flavors of coffee to choose from. Great location too, you can walk around Quincy Center to burn off those breakfast calories Cozy spot, I really like the mixed industrial and wood combo.

Baize K.

Yelp
Great food & service .... We happened upon this wonderful cafe while on our visit to Quincy

Katelyn R.

Yelp
Food was great. Services is super slow. Super understaff and I don't think they should open that many tables. I sat down and takes them 30 mins to take my order and another 45 mins to 1 hour to get my food. If you have time, that's great. I definitely recommend this place if you have a lot of time on your hand.

Kate S.

Yelp
The server is rude! Fire that lady or u'll have bad reputation! No matter how good ur food is if its served by a rude bitter lady whos prejudice its not a good place to go back to and enjoy the moment. Educate ur employees please. AND the dooooooor!!!! It slams really hard when someone opens and closes it. Its not hard or expensive to fix it.

Christopher W.

Yelp
The food is good, above average breakfasts and lunches. Nothing fancy, but good. The staff is friendly, and the place has a nice homey feel. But, and with the two stars you knew a but was coming: service is UNFORGIVABLY slow on weekends. The last two times we went it took over 45 minutes (second time *just* under an hour) to get a straightforward breakfast order. If you're okay with that, go for it. But they won't let you know how slow they are, and don't seem to think there's anything they need to fix.

Wendy S.

Yelp
My husband just found this little hidden gem and what a find it was! Cozy and warm with an old school vibe (check out how they deliver checks to the kitchen!) I had the blue cheese, bacon and spinach omelette and my husband had Irish Benedict- both were amazing! Perfectly cooked and delicious! The team working here is fabulous- can't wait to come back! Don't go another day without trying it!

Sage M.

Yelp
I love breakfast and this The Place to go in Quincy. The best part great unusual breakfast pickings and outside seating great morning shade in great colonial square. A great sidewalk cafe

darshan b.

Yelp
Started off well but went down hill quickly. We were sat pretty quickly by the window by a friendly hostess and the friendly waitress came over quickly to take our drink order. Orange juice and water came quickly and we gave our order after about 5 minutes. Wife went to bathroom and 5 minutes later waitress tells us no more french toast when we specifically came for french toast. But, we were offered waffles instead. So that was strike number 1, then the waffles come without any whip cream. The waitress said that there was no whip cream left?!? I mean what kind of place are they running. If you're out of ingredients go out and get more!!!

Erik B.

Yelp
food is fine but if you order take out, they tell you 15-20, but don't start your food till you get there... and half the time the order is wrong or missing an item just go to Kelly's down the street or the iHop

Tiffany Rae T.

Yelp
Craig's seems to be a Quincy quintessential for brunch. I drove about an hour to meet with a friend here. To be honest, the food did not impress me much. But our server was so friendly and awesome, that it made up for it. I would say the food is average, but overall you wouldn't be disappointed with a visit. I loved the community feel, and they offered outside seating which was nice. Also, their cold brew is phenomenal. Do get yourself one! We shared pancakes which were pretty yummy.

Erika C.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Quincy!! In town visiting and this was definitely a place on my list to stop. The egg and hash dish was delicious!! Well cooked veggies and the serving size was PLENTIFUL! The only thing keeping my review from 5 stars is the Cafe was out of ice during our visit, leaving us with warm drinks. But the food definitely made up for it!

Angel M.

Yelp
I'm going to have to update my review. The overall customer service has gone down, due to the fact that they always seem to be busy, even when you call your order in. Sometimes they give wait times of 1.5 hours during the weekend, other times 20 minutes. You can come right on time to pick up, or even an hour later - they will still take another 10-15 before they get to you. They seem to seat everyone first (even if they came through the door after you did) and refill all drink order before they let you pay for your food that's been sitting on the counter the entire time. The other thing, food quality has seemingly gone down, but I have only noticed this for one dish. I normally won't be this hard on an establishment, but I feel like this is worth mentioning. The crab Benedict no longer comes with a crab cake, but rather a canned salmon croquette with .05 oz of crab. And for that, I am upset as they are not the same. Otherwise, this is a solid brunch place in Quincy Center area. But after moving back to Quincy and ordering from Craig's for several months, i think it's fair to say that some things need to change. Either more staff or less menu items that are done perfectly.

Annie B.

Yelp
Staff welcoming, food was outstanding and lots of great choices. I had a special with 2 eggs on sourdough bread with cheddar and home fries. Great hot coffee. Thank you to Tom and Hannah for a great 1st experience. I hope to be back soon.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
The food was good and came out hot. However the pancakes were undercooked and lacked toppings in which we added. We waited a very long time for the food to come out, to the point where we needed to as the waitress for updates. For brunch food, we waited for 40+ minutes.

Tim X.

Yelp
First time here with friends who recommended. We were promptly seated and server took drink orders. We placed our order eggs Benedict, omelet, and side of house fries. As time went on we were seated and ordered food 11:20. Our food didn't get to our table until 12:30! The placed cleared out, people after us got their food. Waitress walked passed us multiple times and yet didn't apologize for the wait or acknowledge the fact we still didn't get our food. Food came and it was below average. Wasn't worth it. Not a great first impression.

Randy A.

Yelp
Craig's cafe is one if not the best breakfast places in the area, comfortable and welcoming restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food. I often go on Sundays after the gym. Their specials and coffee bar or worth multiple visits and it is clear the chef/owner and staff care deeply.

Christopher E.

Yelp
Service not great, server provided attitude when bring to attention the English muffin being burnt he said you wanted grilled with a attitude that will make me never come hers again. Then waited to get the bill, once came had bill in hand with credit card and he grabbed it out of hand with force. Wife's bagel half of it was burnt and the second half was grilled right with half of it being burnt not sure how that was accomplished. When he brought the bill over he said took apple juice off the bill because of the English muffin never asked if wanted a remade English muffin. Don't come here if you want good food and service go to O. B. Cafe instead much better all around!

Katie D.

Yelp
I'm very surprised that this is a four star place. I would definitely say it's closer to three or even two and a half. For breakfast anyway. Parking is ok. It's on street so you might have to walk a little. When you walk in you can seat yourself anywhere you want. I sat at the bar. There are quite a few tables to pick from too. You help yourself to your own coffee. There are 8 different flavors to choose from. I think that's great. What I didn't like was the teeny tiny cups. I know their bottomless but come on. These are just too small. Staff was very friendly. I ordered the California Benedict. Comes with an English muffin that's toasted with sautéed spinach, avocado, a sliced tomato with their homemade sauce and a poached egg on top of both halves. The English muffin was really soggy and the tomato was a bit mealy. The eggs were poached perfectly. Those home fries. What the heck! Why aren't they cooked longer? Multiple reviews have all said the same thing. I couldn't believe how bad they were. Definitely needed to be cooked longer and a little salt. Maybe some onion salt or garlic salt. Anything to make them a bit flavorful. What a shame. 2.5 stars.

The T.

Yelp
Love it! Our server Sabrina was incredible. Helped us fast and gave great suggestions. It was busy but that was no issue, food came out fast, hot, and delicious! Sabrina would check in always with a happy face and would make sure our drinks were always full. Overall 10/10 experienced would definitely come back.

Tammi M.

Yelp
Ordered delivery on Door Dash. Food was ice cold when it got to us and had to be reheated. Actual food is mediocre at best. Side orders were thrown in randomly with one of the breakfasts and small portions. Home fries are just salted and peppered undercooked potato slices that were inedible. All in all, won't get food here again because there's so many better breakfast places around Quincy.

Jasmine N.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday and had no wait time which I was surprised about. Due to the pandemic the restaurant had limited seating (about 3-4 tables inside and 6-8 tables outside). We opted to sit outside and luckily the weather was in our favor. We ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice, iced coffee, side of bacon, egg white omelette, and a nap with a blanket (or something along those lines lol). The food was great! The omelette was fluffy and flavorful, the nap with a blanket (French toast stuffed with cheese and bacon topped with a poached egg and hollandaise) was tasty, and the bacon was perfectly crunchy. The drinks were also amazing! (Note: the juice was kind of pricey but it is fresh squeezed orange juice!) The only issue was we had to wait a decent amount of time for the food and the waiters didn't seem too attentive. However the waiter that took our order was also the chef so that was probably why. Nevertheless, we would definitely return for brunch again!

Stuart T.

Yelp
I'm a Brooklyn born, NYC native, new to the area, and found this gem on Yelp. Craigs feels like home, food is excellent quality, presented with care, and the friendliest staff; you could ask for no better on both counts. I had Craigs salads for lunch more than a few times, every time was great. Salads were really fresh and creative in their execution. Craig is super friendly as is the rest of the staff; if I had got the Quincy job, I would eat here many times a week.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Good breakfast / lunch spot with outdoor seating. The service was fast and the waiters are super friendly. I tried the banana foster pancakes (subbed the bananas for blueberries). It was a good portion but nothing special, the foster sauce was good but I wish they added more blueberries. My boyfriend got "shelly's burger melt". The sauce was flavorful and the burger was perfect medium rare. Huge fan of that. I also recommend their iced coffee which is a generous size and good coffee for a cafe!
