We had our wedding reception here and couldn't be happier with how it went. The price included a night's stay in one of the bridal suites, the use of three beautiful function rooms, canapes, three courses, and an open bar with a very generous selection of drinks. The staff were incredibly helpful in the lead up and on the night. Nothing was too difficult. The food was fantastic, and the beautiful and historical rooms/building added so much to the night. The Craig's worked directly with our suppliers to pull everything off seamlessly. They were more than happy for us to pop in frequently in the lead up to check the space again and work over floor plans. The original features, with period decor, high ceilings, fire places, tiled floors, grand stair case, and tapestries provided an elegance and sophistication that really couldn't get anywhere else at the price they offer. Thanks to everyone at the Craig's for making our night so special.

Seven of us were upstairs for high tea. Well looked after by staff especially Danielle, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Bubbles on arrival (or soft drink etc). Bottomless tea/coffee. Food was excellent, ambience lovely, we all had a thoroughly good afternoon. Only downside - Asked about tips and was told that folk in the restaurant tip but High Tea patrons rarely do - If you have received excellent service from someone with a smile and a sense of humour they should be rewarded for going beyond expectations. We left a tip.

We loved our stay—service was outstanding and nothing was ever too much trouble. We arrived early and our room was ready, and even when we had to move rooms, it was handled seamlessly. The rooms are beautiful, with every detail reflecting the rich history of Craig's. An old-world lift takes you to your floor, where you're led through a charming maze of ornate halls. The entrance and foyer immediately draw you in, and the grand staircase adds to the timeless character of the hotel. We’ll definitely be back—Craig’s is now our go-to in town. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Craig’s Royal Hotel was the most stunning backdrop for our wedding, absolutely timeless and elegant. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible staff, especially our events coordinator, Heidi. From start to finish, Heidi was a dream to work with. She made everything run so smoothly on the day, handling every little detail (even the ones we were stressing about, like lighting candles!) before we even had to ask. Her communication was fantastic and gave us so much peace of mind. The food was also delicious, our guests are still raving about it. We’re so grateful we chose Craig’s Royal Hotel for our special day, it was perfect in every way

I was here with my family including grandchildren. I had barramundi and it was delicious cooked in a unique way with a bit of mild spice. The children were catered to with a children's menu. The hotel is grand in the old style - magnificent chandeliers and a grand staircase. It has a very long history in Ballarat. They also have rooms available. A Wedding reception was being held there the next night in a private room. It's central in Ballarat - highly recommend

The staff were lovely - especially Maggie, she really made us feel welcome. The hotel was grand but a bit tired and in need of some upgrades. We stayed in the Royal Suite- and we’re fairly certain the room was haunted, which added a little jittery excitement to our trip!

Our dear friends John, Daniela my wife and I had the pleasure of having dinner at this historic hotel located in Ballarat. Our dinner was absolutely delicious and perfect. We had a great experience at a great location which we highly recommend.

The period decore, high ceilings, old style lift, beautiful staircase, parquetry tiled flooring leading to staircase and highest quality of refurbished rooms in early period style took one back to the early 19century high class Hotel and accommodation. |The central location was especially great as it was opposite Ballarat grand old theatre which has also been reinvigorated. |Reception was very friendly and welcoming. Room service staff were also friendly and obliging.

Yelp
Gorgeous!!! If you are looking for an elegant night out in Ballarat, this is the place! The restaurant is in a beautiful conservatory area and it's just magnificent. We were there for a girlfriend get-together and the service and food were great. We had the pork bellies and the seafood fettuccine. Both were perfectly prepared. It's a little pricey, about $40 per place and sides are ordered separately, but for a special night out - worth it!

Yelp
The food here was really good and I loved everything from the atmosphere to the service. The only thing that bugged me was the use of plastic straws. I know it's picky but a lot of places, even smaller cafes, are using metal re-useable straws and I thought that somewhere as wonderful and elegant as Craig's would be up to date on this. Just some food for thought.
