Just a 5‑minute walk from the city centre, this traditional Romanian restaurant is a must‑visit. The menu covers dishes from all three main regions of the country, and everything we tried was delicious: the pork stew with polenta was hearty and meaty, the cheese polenta with smoked meat was rich and flavorful, and the papanași dessert, though a bit over‑fried, was still very good. Service was excellent — attentive waiters in traditional costumes added to the authentic vibe. The restaurant itself is located underground in a vaulted cellar space, giving it a rustic, cozy atmosphere. Book ahead for dinner or arrive early. We got lucky at 7pm with the last free table, but a long queue formed soon after. Very popular spot, especially with tourists.

Authentic Romanian atmosphere and dishes, delicious food, stunning experience, great staff. All of these very affordable for four persons. Strongly recommend.

Staff members will joke around to lighten up the mood and they have the ability to do so. Food is really tasty and the portions are just enough to leave some space for dessert. Prices are absolutely reasonable. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are looking for a traditional dinner

THE BEST RESTAURANT IN THE CITY!!! THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EATEN!!! I ate Tochitura and it was perfect i even ordered and ate a second plate, delicious traditional food. If i had the recipe i would eat it every day! The only negative thing is that they don't allow reservations and the place is full non stop, but that just proves how good it is. After the meal we even got free apples and candy next to the exit. If you are in the city you MUST GO 100%

Great atmosphere, delicious food and fast service. We recommend the cabbage rolls, the peasant potatoes, the tomato and onion salad and the pancakes, apple and berries pudding with ice cream. We loved the sour cherry brandy and blueberry brandy with pudding. Generous helpings. Thank you to the chef and the hard working team.

I loved eating there, the waiters are super friendly and the traditional food is delicious. The food is super abundant, my partner and I ordered a cheese board to share as an appetizer and then our respective main courses and we couldn't finish them, We had to change it to takeout. But 100% recommended, delicious food and a very comfortable place!

Dinner here this evening was absolutely fantastic, you could choose your main then your sides and sauces and essentially build your plate. It's easy to find, we were welcomed immediately by a friendly and funny host - lovely and accommodating staff. Desserts just as good and the whole atmosphere was very cosy. Service could not have been quicker. Everything arrived promptly. Would 100 return and recommend!! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Excellent food and the quaint atmosphere of a 'cellar restaurant'. Impressively large menu. Two wait staff were very good, but lots of diner turnover meant they were very busy clearing and setting tables. Bill had to wait for a while.
