Crandell Mountain Lodge

Great location! Front deck definitely needs some attention. It could be a great place to spend some time if it was repaired and swept but it was not welcoming. Seems to me to be a large valuable piece of real estate not used to its potential. Rooms were dated but quaint, nice updated bathroom but needs a shelf for toiletries. please clean the fans! Ceiling and plug in’s were too filthy to use. Walls were thin, I could hear my neighbor snoring. A little attention could go a long way at this quaint establishment.

From the outside, Crandell Mountain Lodge looks a bit dated. The deck needs painting, and the entry areas badly need refurbishing. However, the few rooms we saw have been refurbished. We stayed with another couple, and had booked the 'superior suite, multiple beds, kitchen'. The room descriptions didn't indicate that the bathroom can only be accessed through a bedroom (this is the case in every room at Crandell) |We were in Unit #7. The bedroom attached to the bathroom in this unit is tiny, and I could barely squeeze around the foot and side of the bed to close the curtain (I'm not a large person) so Unit 7 is really only suitable for a couple with a child, not for 2 couples. (However, there is a sofa-bed in the living room for families) The bathroom is also very small - and dark. The kitchen was well-equipped, had everything we needed and the unit was comfortable. I was happy to see the carpet had been removed, although the living room floor needed repairing in a couple of areas. |However, because this room layout didn't work for us with a male in the group, one couple had to get another room, which was disappointing and not anticipated. The Guest Services Manager obviously cared about our experience, listened to our concerns and offered solutions, which we appreciated.

Cannot recommend this hotel. There is no one working in the building so you have to cross the street to speak with the front counter. Staff was pleasant but did not respond to concerns in a way that you would expect as a paying guest of a hotel. It was more like staying in a friend's apartment with no tv and no heat and an icy relationship with the super. Our fireplace didn't work and that mattered because there was no other heat source and it was supposed to turn on with the thermostat. We asked for assistance and a front desk worker came to look and couldn't fix it. Instead of offering us another room, they gave us a small space heater to bring back to the room and said that they would get maintenance to come and fix it in the morning. The fireplace was not fixed during our two night stay and we were not updated or communicated with except when we called them.

Stayed here for three nights and had a lovely time. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable - perfect after all those long hikes! Deer love hanging out around the building and you can even see them outside your window in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location is amazing. It's a short walk to anywhere, but you can walk to Bear's Hump or Prince of Wales Hotel pretty quickly from here.

We stayed a couple nights here last week; its cozy, clean and comfortable. Location is quite good as it sits on the first corner headed into the town and with the area being so walkable, just park the car (convenient spots are right out front) and enjoy the shops, restaurants and lakefront that are all within a very short walk. There's a cool porch front at the lodge too where you can just hangout and enjoy the weather.

Booked through Expedia. The pictures are very deceiving! We walked into our room and right back out. Very old! Holes in the deck out front of your room, No air conditioning and the room didn’t have what we booked. Went back to the front desk to express our concerns and that we don’t wish to stay there. Taylor did not move us to a different room and told us to call Expedia to get a refund or credit and that she fully understood. Expedia later on called Taylor at the property to get this refund approved which she declined. Do better Taylor. I do no recommend this property to anyone!

Love this place, great getaway location. Had a room big enough for my large family, excellent friendly service. We even accidentally left a new stuffed carcajou teddy in the room after we left, and the super kind staff found it in the room and mailed it home to us!! Needless to say we had a super happy and grateful kid who got their fluffy friend back. Great work!! Thank-you Crandell Mountain Lodge for a great stay in Waterton!!!

Great mountain getaway. Quiet in the offseason and the room was really clean. Cozy and romantic. Great for a weekend away and an easy walk to anywhere in town or to trailheads for hikes.
