Very fun and unique stop. The food and baked goods were wonderful. We did have the pie flight and it was delicious. Our server (Gabriel) was friendly and enthusiastic. We will definitely be back next time we are in that area.

Delicious! We decided to take advantage of a beautiful sunny day and head outside of GR on a Sunday after church for lunch, no wait to be seated. Older building overlooking the orchards. They do have some outside seating but we ate indoors. Very quaint, decorated with interesting wartime antiques. Hubs had the chicken wrap and I had the small orchard salad with chicken added. They have some breakfast options served all day. The menu is smaller but there are enough choices Their Sunday special is 1/2 off their cider/ wine tasting flights. We enjoyed the ciders more than the wines we tried, but to each his own. We finished by sharing the pie flight which is 4 different flavors of warm pie broken up into half pint mason jars, homemade ice cream optional. Our favorite was the raspberry rhubarb, which is a flavor neither of us have had before. There is also a bakery with fresh donuts and frozen pies to take home. We will definitely return.

Google
Perfect space for good food and amazing views. The desserts are wonderful, and the cider donuts hit the spot year round. They have wine slushes, apple cider and frozen treats to go. The BLT & pig in the blanket are my go tos, though fall & winter I do chili or sloppy Joe's. The inside is a nostalgic flashback-we used to come to Cranes with my Grandparents and some of the things are still here. Highly suggest for anyone visiting the lakeshore to make time for Cranes

Google
First time here. Drove past it and decided to stop in. The food looked delicious and the wine and ciders certainly were. Cool place! Definitely will be returning soon for a meal.

Stopped by for the pie flight and decided to try the chili and cream of mushroom soup along with the fresh apple cider as well. All were delicious and the restaurant was homey cute.

Cranes is such a hidden gem. My family and I just moved here and Crane’s was the cutest place to eat, I can only imagine how amazing it is when it’s nicer weather out and you can sit outside! The food, atmosphere and service were all impeccable. We had Gabriel as our server and he is so incredibly kind and friendly. He made us so comfortable and really made sure we were taken care of. The food is divine - everything we ate was delicious. Their cinnamon roll is so fluffy and to die for and their French toast was incredible, and I’m stickler for both! Love their cider and their hot chocolate. I can’t wait to come back and try more. The atmosphere is so homey and cozy. It feels like a place you can’t get anywhere else. “The original Cracker Barrel”, my mom said, but it’s truly so much better than that. I can’t recommend enough!!!

Riah Constantine

Google
We went, and highly recommend going out of your way for this gem. Everything we tried was exquisitely flavor-crafted. Pictured here, is the Liaison off-dry apple cherry barrel-aged cider with the Orchard Salad. Other sampled items, duly notable *kids meals free with adult meal purchase kid and adult approved French toast. Large breakfast Sammy (lightly spread jalapeño jam), Edelzwicker 2023 (rose petal-tangerine-ginger). We also sampled and took to-go their cinnamon sugar donuts, Apple Crisp Pie, and a bottle of 2021 Merlot (tobacco-plum-cherry). We will make a detour next time passing Holland.

Google
GET THE PIE!!! Omg it’s so good. Plus, the rest of the food is tasty too. Simple, but hits the spot. I got the pie flight since I couldn’t decide which to get. My family got more meal items and everyone loved it. My uncle got the soup flight and compared it to his late mothers cooking 🥹 Their cider is insane too. The atmosphere is antiquey, old, and homey

Yelp
Crane's is an institution and always worth your time, even when it's jam-packed inside and out. After many trips over the years, these are my recommendations about what's worth your palate: (01) Cider (which includes dry cider, cold, and hot) (02) Apple Butter (03) Donuts with Cinnamon and Sugar I hesitate with the pies/pie flights and other sweet offerings--they're homey but kind of one-note. At Crane's it's best to keep it simple.

Yelp
The food here is wonderful! Their cookie was amazing! The cookie is a huge size for only $3! Though it would be a lot better if it was toasted a bit after purchase. For lunch I got their turkey pesto sandwich which came with chips and a pickle. The sourdough was toasted to perfection and was a wonderful way to start my day! The service was wonderful and the ambiance is also great! A great place to enjoy with friends or family.

Yelp
I was visiting friends in Michigan and we were craving pie so they took me over to most charming pie store, Crane's in Fennville. The menu showcases a delightful array of dishes, with a particular standout being their pies. Each slice is a symphony of flavors, perfectly balancing sweetness and texture. The selection is diverse, catering to both traditionalists and those with a more adventurous palate. From classic apple pie to innovative combinations like bourbon pecan, every creation is a culinary masterpiece. The winery at Cranes is a haven for wine enthusiasts. The carefully curated selection of wines complements the menu flawlessly. Whether you're a red wine aficionado or prefer the crispness of a white, the knowledgeable staff can guide you to the perfect pairing for your meal. The winery itself is a charming space, inviting guests to savor their selections in a relaxed and picturesque setting. Cranes exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. The rustic charm of the restaurant, coupled with the cozy ambiance, creates an ideal setting for a romantic dinner or a laid-back meal with friends. The attentive and friendly staff further enhances the welcoming vibe, making you feel like a cherished guest rather than just a customer. One of Cranes' standout features is its commitment to sourcing local ingredients. This dedication to supporting local farmers and producers not only contributes to the freshness of the dishes but also underscores the restaurant's commitment to community sustainability. Each bite and sip at Cranes tells a story of the rich agricultural tapestry of Fennville and its surroundings. The service at Cranes is nothing short of impeccable. The staff is not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. From recommendations on wine pairings to accommodating dietary preferences, the attention to detail reflects a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. From delectable pies that melt in your mouth to exquisite wines that elevate your palate, this charming establishment encapsulates the essence of culinary excellence. Whether you're a local looking for a regular haunt or a traveler passing through, this establishment is a must-visit for those who appreciate delicious food and wine. Highly recommended for food and wine enthusiasts alike.

Yelp
Breakfast menu ends at 11:30 and outside counter service menu is simplified. Plan ahead and get on the waitlist online if you're on the way - find them on Tock. Probably not as critical during the weekend but is a must on the weekend...you can gauge the wait that way too since it'll tell you how many parties are ahead of you when you join. Been a while since we dined in due to the weekend waits, but this visit we were here during the week. (Our Tock wait was really short). We got the apple butter gouda toast to share. Convenient options to upgrade sides for your sandwich (salad, soup, chili, dried apples, bread slice). Can have dessert there or head to the counter and bring home. (note limited half pies available). If the wait is too long, send someone out for at least a pie/dessert run.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by for a quick donut after apple picking and it was absolutely delicious! We got an apple cider cinnamon sugar donut ($1 each) and a pie flight ($10) to split. The parking was chaotic (since it was like 11am) when we came in, and the parking lot is just tight for a beautiful fall Saturday, but we found a spot pretty quickly. Ordered our donuts and sat outside to enjoy everything. It was DELICIOUS! The views were lovely and we had a great time. The pie flight was really good but the flavors were just not my fav (blueberry, apple, raspberry rhubarb and cherry). The raspberry rhubarb and cherry were VERY tart and the apple wasn't as flavorful as I would hope. Surprisingly, the blueberry was my favorite! I can't have raw apples so I love a good apple pie and was slightly disappointed by that, but it was still very good. I definitely want to come back and check out the restaurant.

Stacey P.

Yelp
The first thing that hits you when you enter the bakery is the warm scent of apples and cinnamon from the cider to the pies, apple bread, and cinnamon sugar apple cider donuts. The adjoining restaurant served up a filling and very affordable breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and French toast with their homemade apple bread. A cup of the cider on the side made for a tasty meal! Don't forget to pick up a fresh slice or two of cherry or apple pie, or heck, grab a whole frozen pie to take home and bake!

M B.

Yelp
We drove up to a nice view, and I had high hopes...alas, this place was a huge disappointment. The saloon type decor was a bit off-putting, but sometimes dives have the best of the best food. I had the sloppy Jo. A nice try with the shredded beef, but the texture was super mushy...like baby food kind of mushy. The taste was tolerable but nothing I would ever think is restaurant worthy. I asked for chips, which she forgot to bring. (They ended up being nothing special, but just out of a bag). I also got a Caesar salad which was a joke. It was about one cup of Romain with a few shavings of Parmesan and a side of crappy bottled dressing. My husband got the Ruben and it was a pathetic attempt at what is generally one of the most satisfying sammies on the planet. Too thickly sliced meat, topped with the most minuscule amount of kraut. It was served on what I assume was supposed to be buttered grilled bread, but the butter didn't even go all the way to the edge of the bread. Lazy buttering, I suppose. We won't be going back.

Ashley P.

Yelp
Perfect fall Saturday! Live music, warm donuts and frozen apple cider! The perfect day out. We didn't do the corn maze or U pick but would love to come back and do that soon!

Billie G.

Yelp
Eight of us were there yesterday for wine, cider and pie tasting. We sat around the bar and talked with Aaron & Tyler who made a fun day even better! Highly recommend

Karen N.

Yelp
A cute restaurant, bakery and shop . We stopped in for an early breakfast and we were the only customers,, but within 10-15 minutes, several more customers came in. We had a cider mimosa flight, a great way to start the day. There flavors were sweet, dry and fruity. My husband had the Apple Butter Bread French Toast with bacon. The bread was homemade and very good. I had the Apple Butter bread with apple butter. It was very good. There is a bakery and shop to purchase frozen pies, jams , cinnamon rolls and wines . Service was friendly and feels as if you are dining decades in the past. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Stella W.

Yelp
Glad we made it 5min before it closed! Kitchen was closed already so we only got to try the pies which was delicious! I love my blueberry strudel! Apple pie and cherry pie were ok but then I am usually not a fan of either pie :) The Nepotist Apple cider was the most oak barrel tasting cider (or alcohol) I have ever had! I love bourbon but this Apple code brought oak barrel note to a different level. The service was brisk that's probably because they were closing. But the lady was still very helpful and enthusiastic about their ciders :) Hope to be back!

Karla W.

Yelp
Food was yummy service was good temp was a little chilly ambiance was unique too we'd definitely go back

Allyssa G.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cranes over Labor Day weekend! The staff was very friendly and got us seated quick, even with a busy restaurant. The food was very delicious, especially the Apple Butter Gouda Toast! We also enjoyed wine flights, with the peach wine being our favorite. There was live music outside which was also enjoyed by many! Would come recommend!

Melisa W.

Yelp
If you like reds - try their house blend "Homestead" - ordering to the left via outdoor seating area can be a little chaotic- especially on a Saturday in October. Due to apple orchard and pumpkin sales. But, dude ... the service from the 2 Jeremy's at the bar, amazing! If, you aren't sure what to order... go for the dessert flight with vanilla gelato! You will not be disappointed!! The sandwiches are to die for, the pretzels with fresh made cider cheese is yummy, and the chicken tenders are WOWZERS

Rachel M.

Yelp
I know that this place is quite special in the area, and maybe because it's the off season and it was a Tuesday but... it just felt a little sad. There were a few people there and it was very under-staffed, which is fine, I get it, it's off season. We were excited to try the doughnuts, but honestly personally I didn't find them anything special. Indeed if I didn't know where I was eating them, I don't think I'd have said they had any apple cider in at all. We had coffee (really bad coffee) and a slice of the rhubarb and raspberry pie (which was tart and good). We stayed maybe 10 minutes. I get if you go apple picking and then stay for a pie.. maybe it was just me. I just kinda felt it was meh.

Christine B.

Yelp
I ventured here again but went on a Tuesday, so the restaurant was closed, but luckily the bakery was open. I grabbed a doughnut and cider and sat on the patio enjoying the sun. Of course, I grabbed a cherry crisp pie and some cherry wine to go.

Andrea D.

Yelp
Super cute, old fashioned restaurant that looks to have amazing breakfasts. The decor is quaint and fun too take time looking at. Great selection of take & bake pies, pot pies, strudel etc. very friendly service.

Cian D.

Yelp
If you love pie be sure to stop! This was a really cute pie shop and restaurant. We ordered a few things off the patio menu and it was good. The pie was the star of the show. Sour cherry was our favorite. I had a sloppy Joe and it was massive. Plenty of food for two. This sloppy joe is SLOPPY. It was good and fresh but get ready to use 20 napkins. My brother in law got the cream of mushroom soup and loved it. The interior is really cute and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if in the area.

Ken C.

Yelp
Crane's is a local staple and never disappoints. It's been awhile since coming up this way but it's just as good as I remember. We had fast, friendly service and the food was incredible. Also grabbed an apple cider donut - worth the add on! The decor is really neat with tons of local history and old time antiques. Definitely worth spending some time in. Don't forget to hit the bakery/winery before leaving!

Kelsey P.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place! My family and I had the best time here. Great wine, delicious food, and INCREDIBLE pie. They were accommodating for our big group, which is awesome. I got a salad with chicken and it had a very generous portion of chicken. I'd definitely order it again. Our table also went with the pie flight even though we were so full. I'm so happy we did - it was soooo good! We ended up buying a frozen blueberry pie to take home, too. The grounds are beautiful here. It really is a special place. I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in the area.

Chris H.

Yelp
Update to my last review. It's been almost 7 years since I was last here. How time flies. The atmosphere here is still the quaint little hide away, that feels like you jumped back in time by about 50 years. Overall a very comfortable, if somewhat touristy place. I started out by ordering an appetizer the Apple Butter & Gouda Toast ($12). This is grilled Sourdough topped with apple butter, smoked Gouda, and honey drizzle. It was unique and fantastic. It's a little hard to describe, but the apple butter and Gouda, plus I thought I tasted cinnamon and I think the honey might have been slightly spiced. Yum was it good. For my main meal I again ordered the Sloppy Joe ($11). I very much enjoyed it this time. It got it's own unique spices that maybe I just enjoy more now 7 years later. I got the chips this time and no complaints there. Also the Cider was much better this time, nice and cold. The person I was with ordered the Burger of the Day ($14). Today's was Boursin Bacon Burger. They apparently did an excellent job cooking it Medium Rare, and the burger was classified as excellent. So much so they repeated themselves the next day stating how much they enjoyed the burger. From the bakery I got a Frozen Pumpkin pie, a Frozen loaf of Apple Butter Bread, and a Cinnamon Roll. The Cinnamon Roll had nuts mixed into the cinnamon mixture. I don't like nuts so that was a bummer. However if you like nuts it's a good cinnamon roll. The Bread was fantastic. Lol, I got home and cut the frozen pie into quarters and put a quarter in the fridge to thaw. Well I didn't realize, because I didn't read, the pie needed to be cooked 1st, from frozen. I still baked the mush and it was good. I'm guessing the other three quarters baked correctly will be even better. The service was excellent. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Overall this time was an easy 5 stars. Would I return? Yes. Excellent Bakery and very good food.

Landon H.

Yelp
Great place for apple picking and weekend fun for the fam. The restaurant needs work. My family went for the patio, being a nice September day. The parking lot surrounds the entire place, and there's a live music venue in the center of the patio (why the center? Music sounds better when there's more than 2 feet between you & it). Put all of this together and you get an overstimulating, hot nightmare. The place just needs someone with creative drive to redesign it. All this land, owned by one group, they can certainly do better.

Linda S.

Yelp
You have to love Crane's. Fresh pies, creative delicious entrees using their orchard's produce, attentive, fast service, affordable prices. And cider to dream about: not too sweet, not too tart, really "apple-y" with a free refill. Clean, calm, friendly ambiance with a comfortable noise level, and fun retro decor. Worth going out of your way for.

Mary O.

Yelp
Great staff, great service amazing pies and donuts stopped in on my way home from Visiting my friend in Douglas . I have vacationed in south haven most of my adult life and my kids loved coming here! They were so excited when I told them I was stopping at Cranes on the way home!

Olivia S.

Yelp
Food was good but I wouldn't come here again. Alaina A. Was rude to us and we all got simple things and still didn't get simple service. Barely even came back to us and gave us all the wrong things.

Tracy S.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! The restaurant and the server were absolutely charming. The walls of the restaurant were "papered" with vintage McCaull(?) magazines. When I wasn't eating, I was reading the walls. As for the food, the French toast made with apple bread was out of this world good! Breakfast is only served on the weekend, so our timing was right. Add in the bake shop and orchard and you've got a lovely half day outing.

Kendra C.

Yelp
maybe it's just me, but I don't get the hype about this place. I will say it had some cool historic decor and a beautiful view of the orchard area. there was a brochure in our air b&b and after looking at the yelp reviews, we decided to go for it as the food sounded decent, but we were really looking forward to trying the pie. my husband got a burger, he said it was "just okay". I got the *famous* sloppy Joe.... the taste was not that great in the first place but it seemed like it had been put in a blender. it was really runny and mushy. my chili was again, just okay. the pie flight was way smaller than I thought it was going to be, and the pie was good but not exceptional. the two best things about our experience was our server and the apple cider- now that was tasty. the kids also got a chocolate donut sundae that they liked. this is one of the few restaurants in the area where we stayed, but I don't think I would ever return.

Kristine J.

Yelp
The pie was decent. Nothing over the top and worth driving out of the way for but the breakfast was yummy and made the pie worth the stop. We did try the wine and it was good. We brought cider home but haven't tried it. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and said it was just alright. I had the cinnamon roll and it was good. The bacon was thick but tasted...gamey so I only ate half a piece. Overall, we would return with lower expectations.

Tracy C.

Yelp
Very charming restaurant, bakery, and winery surrounded by orchards. Very excited to pair our wine/cider flights with a pie flight! Tasty fruit pies and crisp ciders and fruity wines. Even got free apples to take home.

Paige D.

Yelp
Super cute restaurant, fast service and great food! Definitely have to try the pie flight!

Annette A.

Yelp
Came here with some friends after a day of various wine/cider tasting in the area. We had been anticipating the pie flights and it did not disappoint. The flight included Apple, cherry, blueberry and rhubarb raspberry pies. Apple Was my favorite as it was just the perfect amount of cinnamon. I also had a small pour of the ice wine- excellent. Would have bought a bottle to take home but it was a little expensive and I live with a sober person so best to not... we did however buy a pie to take home and a strudel. I wish I had been hungrier so I could have tried the Rueben soup I saw on special that day and maybe some of the other food. That will have to be next time as I will Come back next time I am in the area.

Alex M.

Yelp
We had such a great time at the cider fest! The perfect fall day with live music, string lights, lawn games and fall foods. We were Able to purchase and consume a few bottles of wine while enjoying the event. We came here as part of a bachelorette wine tour.

Amanda L.

Yelp
I went to quite a few great places during my long weekend in Michigan (see my several 4-5 star reviews) but I think Crane's honestly may have been my favorite. It was everything I could possibly want in a small town destination. Cider- Their apple cherry was THE BEST cider I drank (and I went to two large, popular cideries in the same weekend). Don't sleep on the apple blueberry or the semi-sweet either. Wine tasting- Adorable! We went on a Monday afternoon so there were tables available instead of your usual standing at the bar. You could also get any of those aforementioned ciders in your tasting. Baked goods- They have the great 'pie flight' on their menu or you can just be gluttons like we were and try four different slices. The raspberry rhubarb was the surprise winner although if it says 'strudel' in the title, those are ALSO to die for. The apple cider donuts were also really good. Finally, everyone working here was so NICE. Whether it was the gentlemen pouring us cider or the guys packing up slices of pie to take home, they were all lovely, lovely people. Not sure if they do it every weekend but they had live music on Sunday afternoon (the musician was great!) and seemingly all of western Michigan was there. It was still a great time but they had a 90 minute wait to eat in the actual restaurant. This place was just so charming! I loved it.

Ronald K.

Yelp
The best pies ever! Great selection and the restaurant is very good too. Large party and everyone's orders came out quick and complete. Never had raspberry rhubarb pie before, it beat any other rhubarb pie I have ever had.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Worst experience ever! We had a party of 6, we put our name on the list and was told a half hour. I never got a text and checked back 40 minutes later and they never put our name on the list! I was told there was nothing they could do and now the wait was 90 minutes! Awful customer service!!! I've ate here before and the food is t worth a 90 minute wait.

Devika P.

Yelp
We stopped here for pie and wine flights and it was really good. While I didn't have either, others at my table did and they really liked it. I had a cinnamon roll and it was delicious. They also have pies to go so we got a chocolate pecan pie. It was so good!

Grant S.

Yelp
Crane's Pie Pantry Restaurant & Winery is an absolute gem. Whenever we are in the area from Chicago we HAVE to stop by for a visit! During this time of COVID-19, we were thrilled to find out that Crane has its outdoor space open with heaters. The outdoor space is cozy, distanced, and open air. It was chilly today, so the staff turned on the fireplace for us and it was delightful! While outside we saw a bald eagle and flock of Sandhills cranes fly over. It was magical. Thanks for keeping your customers and employees safe during the pandemic! The staff are always so kind, generous, and helpful. From the welcoming host to the helpful server who took our order and lit the fire, we are always treated well. Thank you Crane! Now to the main attraction: the food and drink! To sit outside, you order to go in the bakery and it is delivered to the outdoor pickup window. Easy and smooth! We LOVE the pie flight! Four fresh made and delectable pies in a manageable portion. Ice cream is the perfect top off to this delectable delight! The sandwich special today was perfect from first to last bite. House-made onion poppyseed bread topped with house pesto, Turkey, tomato, and lettuce. Fresh and scrumptious. Plus a side of perfectly salty and peppery chips. Yum!! After the meal, we enjoyed the beautiful overlook of the orchard/vineyard. Truly a scenic spot! We love Crane and look forward to our next visit. If you haven't been, stop by at the next chance you get!

Seul-rin Y.

Yelp
We went to go pick peaches and stopped by for some breakfast. i ordered the country quiche and it was delicious. however, i felt a little disappointed that the portion of the actual quiche was a bit small than i had thought. the side of apple sauce was almost as big as the quiche itself. not a big fan of applesauce so i did not eat it. the apple butter toast was decent, the other side of my toast was a bit burnt but i could manage as the jam helped it a lot to cancel the burnt taste. apple cider was also great. my boyfriend ordered the corned beef hash dish and left with a bit of a sour mood as the eggs to him felt like eggs from a carton as he asked if his egg could be over easy but we were told that eggs weren't made fresh to order which had us thinking that the eggs weren't as fresh.

Richard B.

Yelp
What a cool little spot. Stopped for a snack and got the Pita and Feta. I didn't think it would be as good as it tasted due to the name Feta. Boy was I wrong. It was so good and had a perfect spice. I could eat it with a spoon. I was really that good. Seems weird for me to rave about a simple appetizer but I'm telling you it's awesome. Loved the decor and friendly staff also. We left with a homemade cherry pie and it was devoured before night fall. I highly suggest stopping in Cranes for a bite to eat. Oh oh and you have to try the cider donuts. Yummm.

Noah H.

Yelp
Good food. I got the famous sloppy Joe and it was delicious. The pies are the best part. I would recommend getting a pie to go. The blueberry donut was also my favorite.

Michele M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place and always go when I'm on the West side of Michigan. I recommend trying the pie flight and wine sampling. There is also an orchard that you can visit in the fall

Angel A.

Yelp
LOVE the BLT sandwiches. I aways get their alcohol, pastries, pies and so much more. So many selections to choose from flavors and etc. The service/ community are kind, family owned farm business. Love their atmosphere/environment.

Lisa R.

Yelp
Went with a friend of mine after picking apples at the neighboring Cranes Orchard. We loved the casual and warm ambiance from the time we saw the outdoor patio and entered the restaurant. Our server greeted us with a smile and was attentive and helpful with suggestions and generous with smiles throughout our visit! We started with the flight of wine and hard cider and decided the cherry cider topped our list. We are thankful we decided to share the famous sloppy joe and we went with the works. Delicious and filling! Then we shared the pie flight with ice cream and that was a perfect ending to our meal. Highly recommend a stop here!

Keith O.

Yelp
Food and service were good. Enjoyed the wine flight though the pours were a little light. Enjoyed both the peach and apple pies.

Laura J.

Yelp
We rented VRBO and our wonderful host brought us an apple pie to cook and a bag of donuts. The donuts were tasty and the pie delicious. Hope we get to check out the store while we are in town. Loved it :)

Catherine F.

Yelp
Stopped here, tired and dusty and famished, after a music festival in Rothbury. It was late June, and I'm still dreaming of the pies... I ordered a flight of ciders from their cidery, and a flight of pies. *A flight of pies.* Why has no one else thought of this? What a great way to decide on which pie(s) to take home from the bakery side of things! Ambience: country-charming, quiet, comfortable. Patio seating with a lovely green vineyard view. Indoor rustic. Service: superb. Attentive, but not intrusive. Friendly and enthusiastic. I love people who believe in what they do! Ciders: not my favorites, but solid enough (especially the dry varieties) that I took a selection home. The cherry is well worth a taste. Pies: STILL craving them. They're seasonal, so I missed out on rhubarb (my fave)... but the berry pies had SO. MUCH. FRUIT. Not over-sweetened, so the berries really shone through. Buttery, flaky, light crust. The whole experience was memorable enough that I think I might start a pie-tasting tour, like friends of ours (who discovered the place online for us). Well worth a repeat trip.

Yelp
Flights are my favorite. Flights of wine, flights of beer, flights of pizza, flights of soup, etc. -- being able to try a little bit of a bunch of different things is the best! When I found out about this place that has a pie flight, I knew I needed to check it out. I finally got to try the pie flight on my birthday! We actually stopped in twice -- once before dinner for a wine tasting, and then after dinner for the pie. Crane's is out in the middle of nowhere near Fennville. It's located on a beautiful orchard which was so pretty to see with the sun setting. The atmosphere is rustic and homey, with lots of old-timey decor and even a taxidermied dog outside (!!). This isn't a fancy place, but it's clean and service was great. Everyone we encountered was super friendly and polite. The wine we tried was okay, but nothing blew my mind. My favorite was the merlot, which was pretty smooth and balanced. My boyfriend tried some of their sweet fruit wines and they were super sweet. The pie flight rotates depending on what flavors are available - check the board outside the door for the list. We got two flights for three people, one with ice cream. This was definitely too much as we had eaten a large dinner, but the pie was delicious. We had raspberry pie, cherry crisp, blueberry pie, and apple pie. The cherry was actually my favorite, but all the pies were great. The crust was flaky and tender. The ice cream is definitely worth the extra $2 as it's a large scoop!

Yelp
Stopped in for pie to go. Couldn't decide so we got a single slice of all 4 kinds. You can buy plenty of whole pie and even frozen fruit and chicken pot pie. Also grabbed a couple jams for a charcuterie board. Loved the blueberry pie and can tell the fruit is fresh because didn't taste overly sweet. Cherry was a little tart. Apple was also great. Stop and take one home!

Yelp
Had dinner and pie and all were great. Took home a 5-pack of cinnamon rolls and enjoyed next two days for breakfast.
