"Feed the Ducklings at Cranes Roost In Uptown Altamonte, a one-mile walkway zigzags above the water of Cranes Roost Lake. It's an ideal locale for a walk or an evening jog. Located near the Atlamonte Mall and restaurants, families flock here for outdoor events like the Fourth of July Red Hot and Boom. A free summer jazz concert series presents monthly performances on the floating stage of the Eddie Rose Amphitheater. Tip: Don't forget to bring bread to feed the ducks and turtles."

There’s something truly special about Cranes Roost Park that keeps us coming back. From the moment you step onto the trail, you feel an overwhelming sense of warmth and relaxation. The park is beautifully maintained, with wide, clean paths that invite walkers of all ages and abilities. What makes this park stand out is its welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a solo stroll, a family outing, or a peaceful escape, there’s a spot for everyone. Friendly faces pass by with a smile, and the open layout makes it feel safe and inviting. Benches are thoughtfully placed along the way, offering a place to rest and soak in the natural beauty. The landscaping is a perfect mix of shaded areas under towering trees and sunny spots where flowers bloom vibrantly. Birds chirp in the background, and if you’re lucky, you might spot some local wildlife. The park also includes well-maintained rest areas, making it convenient for longer walks. No matter how many times we visit, Cranes Roost never loses its charm. It’s more than just a walking park—it’s a place that makes you feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming outdoor space!

Such a beautiful park ❤️ the grounds are kept so nice and clean. There are a ton of people out enjoying the view. I got to see a bunch of native wildlife.

Google
One of the best parks I’ve been to. This place is beautiful. Lots of branches to sit and relax. The sunset is also beautiful. The different light colors on the structures make this place so relaxing.

Google
I always take my dog here and there are plenty of doggie stations and theres even a water fountain that you can press for your dog to drink. They always have low volume music playing and sometimes there are little events on the street. The photos are from around Christmas where they have lots of lights and the big tree!

Google
A stunning location for a stroll or jog. The mall is very close by, and they occasionally host fantastic events on weeIf you're in the vicinity, visit—it will be worth it.

Google
It’s a convenient drive from where I stay and like that they keep things up to date in terms of maintenance. Would prefer this park if you’re looking to jog or walk over a mile..

Google
Beautiful little area to take a nice leisurely walk around the beautiful lake. There was a concert there and they blocked the walkway in one area so check before you go. GREAT spot for a jog.

Google
Spent a beautiful day at Cranes Roost Park, and it did not disappoint! The area overlooking the water is stunning, with plenty of scenic views to enjoy. We loved the peaceful vibe and the many free benches where you can relax. We brought some takeout and ate under the sun—it was the perfect spot for a laid-back afternoon. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing afternoon.

Yelp
Cranes Roost Park is a nice park just off of Interstate 4 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. It is a nice park, though it has more of a sidewalk around a lake and maybe downtown walking type thing more than an actual park. Cranes Roost Park is named because it surrounds Crane Roost Lake and is host to the popular 4th of July fireworks display. The park itself was a pleasant enough experience and I enjoyed my time over here and even though it was a bit chilly (the temperature was just under fifty degrees), it was nice enough to spend some time here. If you find yourself in the Altamonte Springs, Florida area and are looking for a place to chill for a bit, go check out Cranes Roost Park.

Yelp
Cranes Roost is one of my favorite parks in Altamonte. I normally exercise by walking and jogging here in the mornings or afternoons. The park is always nice, and the bathrooms are kept up and cleaned regularly. They offer food trucks, exercise classes (independently) and many more activities. Check out the park, it's definitely worth it
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot to walk around, snag pictures, and take in the views of the I-4 eyesore....a dream. Seriously though, it's quiet and relaxing and right off the main road so you can easily bring some snacks and make a picnic or walk around and grab something to eat when you're done. The photo ops are plentiful, and it's unbeatable for getting some extra steps in!

Yelp
As I was driving on the highway, I caught a glimpse of Cranes Roost Park and was immediately drawn to its beauty. I finally got the chance to visit the park and it did not disappoint. The picturesque scenery and lighting compelled me to walk around the park multiple times, taking in all of its splendor. The weather was perfect with just the right amount of sunshine, creating a serene atmosphere. Although I usually prefer listening to my own music on my AirPods, the calming and relaxing music played in the park added to the overall tranquil experience.

Yelp
If you have not been to this park, you are missing out. The park has a walking path over the water and is close to nice greenery areas for workouts and some yoga. I do know the City of Altamonte Springs does fit classes there once a week and events. I also enjoy all of the pokemon gyms and spins at this location too. The piece of art was so gorgeous I had to share. It is a mama nurturing her young. I would definitely recommend this location for family and friends. They have free parking and restaurants within walking distance. The park staff are friendly and always seen taking care of it when I go for walks Saturday morning.

Yelp
This park is a great place to walk, enjoy events, dine, and shop. Whatever you seek is probably here or nearby. Looking for a pleasant picnic area or playground? Looking for a scenic place to walk? Looking for places to eat or shop? Crane's Roost has it available, and there's plenty of on-site parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a beautiful and well maintained park. Plenty of parking, friendly wildlife and amazing views. There's always some fun event going on. I believe fishing is permitted, but rarely see anyone partaking. I like that there's no skateboarding, biking or rollerblading on the main path, so walking with little ones is always safe and enjoyable.
google avatar

Amy A.

Yelp
This is beautiful park to visit and take a stroll around. Please keep your dogs on a leash or in a stroller. There are concerts in the park on weekends and holidays.
google avatar

Merica A.

Yelp
I live fairly close to Cranes Roost and I absolutely love the area. The park is one of the cleanest and safest in the area so it's perfect for picnics, strolling, or just getting outdoors. It's well lit, there's always staff driving around in the evening on their carts, and the music isn't too obnoxious to the point where it takes away from the peacefulness. My favorite thing about Cranes Roost is how conveniently close it is to everything else. You can walk over to grab icecream at Cold Stone, take a walk to the movie theatre, or visit the restaurants right off the strip surrounding the walking loop.
google avatar

Pranjali G.

Yelp
Cranes Roost Park is a beautiful place in a very busy area of Altamonte Springs. Yet its very peaceful to walk around the lake when the crowd is less. Be it spring, fall or winter time...the park has its own charm. But my favorite time is during Christmas when they have all the decorations up. They also have a Amphitheater where many events were held pre covid. This place is great to go for a jog, or a stroll or just go and sit and relax. One round around the lake is little over a mile. You see lot of birds around. You can spot ducks and turtles too in the lake. Definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Great 1.1 mile boardwalk loop around the water with plenty of seating options along the way. It's bordered by I-4 so there is street noise but it's a nice public place to walk with many people strolling, jogging and dog walking.
google avatar

Patricia R.

Yelp
Crane's Roost offers different things. They do events here which benefit and involve the community. There is a nice walkway which you can go to during the day or evening, it's well lit up so one is comfortable being out there when the sun goes down.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
They have such a nice walk around the lake at Cranes Roost Park. I don't know how long the actual walk is but it's great for a quick stroll during a lunch break. I saw some people using it as their running track too. Around the holidays, they have decorated lights and a beautifully lit Christmas tree for photo opportunities. Even some of the condos decorated their balconies so you can see them from the lake. Conveniently placed with TONS of parking nearby!!
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
Beautiful location to walk around and get some exercise, date night, or casual meetups. We just went and experienced their Christmas lights and they did not disappoint. They had light around the entire lake and it was a beautiful stroll with the family in the evening.

Felix J.

Yelp
It was a wonderful Christmas experience with a decorated tree, sparkling lights, delicious food trucks, and a lively band. A perfect place to have fun with family and friends. Make sure to take photos to capture the memories.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing park! Such a beautiful place. I saw about thirty turtles! The walk was very nice and there were family's out and people getting in exercise. I could not believe how beautiful it was. They have a low music playing around the water. The views are amazing and it was very peaceful.
google avatar

Yelp
It's kinda preaching to the choir for those Central Floridians, but if you are from out of town, Crane's Roost Park is a some what hidden gem in the Greater Orlando area if you're not too familiar with this area. One trip around the lake maybe around a mile and it's a peaceful way to go for a after dinner walk all around the year. In the summer season it gets incredibly hot around the noon time so I'd avoid coming here at that time. It has an amphitheater area where they occasionally hold some musical events and if you come here in some Sunday's you may see some local community events held or sponsored by local small businesses or hospital systems alike.

Yelp
Take a Hike! Well at least take a walk. The "park" around Cranes roost is a great place to get some fresh are, stretch the legs and get a few steps in.

Surielis R.

Yelp
Lots of good memories here. This is a really nice park overall, it does get a little busy in the afternoons with lots of people exercising but it gets a lot quieter at night! Park is very well lit at night and feels very safe. Events happen here often and I'd highly recommend coming out to one!

Ismarie F.

Yelp
I love this park! This is my home park. I work out here I walk here. I relax here. I sit down and read here. This is the best park ever! They have outdoor movie nights .I go with my family to watch some movies in the park and eat some good popcorn and hot cocoa. They have work out Wednesdays as well. So much to do in this park.

Yelp
Cranes Roost Park is nested on 45 acres in the heart of Uptown Altamonte Springs surrounding Cranes Roost Lake. The park provides a large continuous walkway with a built-in audio system that spans the length of a mile. There are themed lighting fixtures, a beautiful fountain and choreographed fountain lighting show. The Park also has an integrated stadium-style Amphitheater with a floating stage which is great for watching live bands and to catch spectacular views of the fireworks during Red Hot & Boom. We come to Cranes Roost whenever we are in the Altamonte Springs area. I would come here more often but parking is somewhat limited and traffic in Altamonte can be horrendous. However, we always come to enjoy the Holiday Fountain Show that runs from November 28th through December 31st and the Holiday Light Display running from December 7th through January 1st annually. The Christmas Tree and Fountain are the main spectacles at this location but there are many other fun holiday themed lights to see as you walk around the lake. Park hours are Sunday-Thursday 7am - 11pm and Friday and Saturday 7am - 12am. The park is pet friendly in most areas so bring your best friend along for the holiday celebration.

Yelp
Since Covid hit the area I've been exploring outdoor activities much more. Crane's Roost Park offers a relaxing opportunity to get out and walk. The walking path goes around the water and measures at about a mile. There are benches along the way and covered seating just off the path. My grandson likes to ride his bike or scooter around the lake. There are usually other kids to interact with and lots of opportunities to explore. The park is well known for their events. Red Hot & Boom is one that we attend regularly. The music, food and fireworks are a lot of fun.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Came here to check out the World Food Festival and I was quite impressed with the area. I loved the huge lake pond and the walking trail around it. It was super walkable, family and pet friendly and there were a good number of benches to just enjoy the scenery. I've never been in the area, but have always wanted to check it out. The food festival itself was just ok. I hate tickets that you have to buy so I didn't buy anything. I definitely enjoyed walking around and spending a perfect day there!

Yelp
What a park! I live about 20 min away and was visiting for a work event. I was surprised by the size and how much the park has to offer! Truly a hidden gem. Great place to take photos and an awesome spot to enjoy a beautiful Florida day
google avatar

Yelp
Pros: Spacious, gorgeous lights and fountains on the lake at night, live events throughout the year, great location, surrounded by terrific stores and restaurants, dog friendly, perfect for exercise Cons: No playground

Yelp
I love Crane's Roost Park! Such a beautiful place to come walk and enjoy the outdoors. It's also located close to shops, the Altamonte Mall, restaurants, etc. During the walk around the park you can see different fish, turtles, etc. that live in the water, which is always fun to take a look at. Coming at sunset is my favorite and during Christmas time they have lights set up for you to go look at. This park has different events at it year round. Great spot!

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Cranes Roost is charming. It has that nature-in-the-city feel of a lively urban park. It's beautifully landscaped and well-maintained, with a winding path, footbridges and boardwalks in a mile-long loop. Sometimes there are just a few walkers, and other times it's hopping. The people are diverse, including joggers, families strolling, friends chatting, occasional picnics on the grass, people relaxing or getting some work done on the benches. The turtles, ducks, squirrels, and fish scamper/swim around. It's well-lit and feels safe after dark, though one should always be cautious. In December after sunset, it's like walking into a Hallmark movie, with children playing under market lights by the fountain, holiday lights lining the path, and festive music playing from speakers. There are fun events throughout the year (see the online calendar). I wouldn't recommend visiting in the summer unless you have a high tolerance for heat and clouds of insects at dusk/dawn. In the winter it's the best.

Yelp
I love Cranes Roost Park. I live walking Distance. I go there almost everyday for a Four mile walk. I also go to Cranes Roost for relation and to Walk my two puppies. I enjoy the scenery so much. I see people there from all walks of life. Beautiful & Safe place for relaxation.

Yelp
This is my go to park normally when I need to exercise but not in the gym mood i can get my 3 or 4 miles in. Even when i go at night i feel sage there is always staff & people around. This is a good park for walking, running/jogging, bringing your dogs & small children. The park had easy parking and is right behind the Altamonte mall & movie theater. There are also condos, restaurants and other small businesses near as well. This is Christmas time so i had the pleasure of taking my niece & nephew to light it up on December 1st they had train rides, face painting, games, food & fireworks . We had a blast. Duke Energy every year sponsors light it up. So during the month of December you get to see the lights , Huge Christmas tree & a fountain show . ( you can find the times for the fountain show on their website). This is definitely a fun family park i would recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Very nice park, feels very safe. There are dining choices nearby overlooking the park. There are performances out here on the lake. The boardwalk and sidewalk are in really good shape. There are several park benches throughout the lake area. Many are covered. I didn't see any myself, but I'm told by neighbors that you can go out and feed the turtles. Very beautiful, I'd even walk this alone in the evening and still feel very safe.

Cathy A.

Yelp
Beautiful park that always has fun events. The art and crafts events are always fun and have new booths every year.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cool park, with plenty of shade and trees. There are many sitting spaces and it has a lake where you can fish. It is great to take a long stroll before you do some shopping in the nearby shopping center. Also, this park host many festivals and events, like fireworks and 4th of July parties, etc. Very open and inviting park, and well kept. Also, home of the Uptown Art Expo and Street Chalk Art.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Crane's Roost is beautiful. The lake, nature, and the events are wonderful for family time or date night.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was a kid. Nice clean park to take a walk around or sit on the amphitheater steps and cry after a breakup or eat a slice of pizza or make out with someone lol. I've done it all here, I've seen it all here. Needless to say this park can be the place to build lots of new memories in. Other than the fun cute events that are held there, it's walking distance from the local mall and some other restaurants. Pretty smart idea to since you can go inhale a burger from Five Guys (a good and a skip away) and walk the calories off if you're a fat fuck like me :)

Yelp
My favorite local city park, Crane's Roost is a destination and a getaway located in Altamonte Springs' Uptown. Movie and music nights; Red, Hot, Boom fireworks for Independence Day; Food & Wine; lighting of the Christmas Tree and Santa and Mrs. Claus are just a few of the events that keep this place full of activity. If you just like to sit, this is a great place to people-watch or look out over the water. Newly renovated, upgraded and well-lit, the wider walkway and park are a favorite place for my wife and I to walk the mile loop that includes a boardwalk over sections of the lake. (Watch out for joggers.) Yes, the park is dog friendly but be sure to pay attention to where your dog is allowed. The "getaway." I love the European feel to the place an I've heard others who've lived in Europe also describe it this way. And, I love catching a Florida sunset at this venue. You do catch a sense that you've been transported to a different place. Keep up to date with the events on the Altamonte.org site. But most of all, enjoy!

Yelp
This is a beautiful park with a variety of wildlife. My favorite part of the park is the waterfront trail that allows for 360 degree views of the park and the surrounding beauty. The trail is approximately 1 mile long. I have enjoyed exercising around it to get to my daily goal of 10000 steps. The trail has two long boardwalks on opposite ends. They both have covered canopy areas and benches for you to enjoy the parks serenity and views. While walking, skating, or running around the trail you will see squirrels joyfully playing amongst Mallard duck and crane. If you look carefully at the water near the boardwalks you may get to see turtles swimming at their leisurely pace. The park has something for everyone to enjoy. A beautiful scenic setting for sure!!

Yelp
Ambiance nice walking park or sit and paint clean well kept. Next to Altamonte shopping center so grab some ice cream five guys or some pizza nice date night spot

Yelp
i attended concert last night- Journey -amazing- atmosphere wonderful. I worship Journey and was not aware they were performing. It made my dream come true- top ten list. Park was beautiful and fun to walk. I am going Saturday. My friend lives across way and always there bragging on amazing events. I am spreading word already. I need to thank the band and my heart and spirits were renewed- I always listening your Music - THANKYOU - for performing. Everyone should go to Cranes roast and Thankyou Altamonte Springs for have beautiful community events and bring people together and celebrate life, music and community.

Yelp
Beautiful park! Sits right by the water, which I love. Great place to walk your dog, or just take a walk with friends. This park was beautifully landscaped!

Yelp
A fantastic park to come and stroll with family and Sicily diactanced friends haha. I've been going here for years, definitely a gem in Seminole county
google avatar

Branden T.

Yelp
It's the perfect place for family and entertainment since living in Altamonte I have spent many many moments up there from there from the 5 k's to the family days to the movies in the park watching the fountain celebrating Christmas and the multitude of events that take place there
google avatar

Stacy F.

Yelp
Excellent place to stretch your legs, get in a run / jog, or simply sit and enjoy the view. It's located right next to the Altamonte mall, so there is plenty of parking just a short walk away. They offer plenty of benches and covered tent off shoots from the main walking areas. A fountain can also be located at the main hub of the Park that does periodic water shows with lights, water movement and classical music. Recently the park has had to enforce their open / close times due to the huge influx of Pokemon Go players and the noise that it causes for locals. But they are open til 10 most nights and 12 weekend days - totally reasonable shut down hours. Overall: A Get in a walk and enjoy a sunset sky!
google avatar

Yelp
My husbands Mortgage office registered for the Autism event this morning. We arrived around 9am and all the vendors were already set up. This event was very kid friendly and fun for the entire family. Every tent gave information for rehabilitation, learning, legal, schooling, education, teaching styles, etc....basically anything you can think of regarding autism. Teams, families, individuals donated funds for ways to assist with autism. They even had karaoke and free flood and drinks so everyone earned and donated and walked a few miles on Cranes Roost. Great event and for a good cause. It's been over year since I've been here, the upgrade or nearly renovation of walkways looked pleasant; a much needed upgrade to support upcoming events. The last 4th of July here was wicked packed (2015) and I think they restructured everything to support the amount of people they're drawing. I'm loving the cooler weather and looking forward to our next walk.

Yelp
This park has gotten a LOT of attention since my last review here. I still come out at night to jog, but have noticed changes. Dogs come here now more frequently as it is dog friendly to an extent (some limitations). ASPD still patrols on bicycles now and of course now they know me so they don't stop me at all. Private tables for seating with tree/shrubbery privacy. Parking is still a pain at times, I don't see as much dancers that used to be around. Events still occur see the signs on all four corners of the walkway. Fourth of July event held the day before sometimes earlier still occur here complements to XL 106.7 and iHeart Media. During holidays this park decorates it up. Christmas and Fourth are big ones. At night the fountain dances to some tunes. There is periodically music playing throughout the trail. Also this is a hot spot for the mobile app game called PokemonGo. These players take it seriously. So it can be packed during Pokemon events. There is multiple I wanna say about 4-6 gyms in a 1 mile radius and tons of Pokemon stops. There is also a hotel (Embassy Suites) with direct access to Cranes Roost. The Altamonte Mall is on the other side of the hotel with access to Cranes Roost behind the theater. All of this within walking distance. Pets: There is pet fountain for the little fur balls, and poo bags. Restrooms aren't the greatest either. Some fountains are filtered water. Certain parts have a LOT of grass for you to let your leash maximize its distance on. This location is also a hot spot for photographers. Be mindful. Moms, and parents with strollers come here a LOT in the morning around 7/8am until about 12pm. Park officials will ticket you for littering, and rightfully so. Some people will even clap to help embarrass you for littering here. This is one park I can say people are proud of and for once nicely kept up. There is cameras in certain areas as well that links up to ASPD, and some phone locations. I have seen proposals here, events here, and honestly its worth the drive.

Yelp
Looking for a place to walk, train, enjoy the scenery or many events hosted throughout the year? Come to cranes roost. It's a nice park, well lit at night, and located right behind the mall and shopping plaza. So it's definitely a safe, family friendly park. I like that this place is close to us and parking is available all around the area. But beware of big events like red hot boom, Christmas, Halloween, parking spaces fill up and can be super crowded. I avoid these times, cause i can't handle the stress and crowds. Other than that, it's a nice park and there are always people around.
google avatar

Bengie M.

Yelp
Usually something going on at Cranes Roost Park. This is one of the annual Art Festivals. Even when there's no event going on the park has about a 1 mile wide sidewalk for jogging or a relaxing walk. The are fountain shows in the evenings and relaxing music piped in throughout the park. Uptown Altamonte which is in walking distance has plenty of restaurants, a mall and an AMC movie complex.
google avatar

Margaret N.

Yelp
My family loves Cranes Roost for a nice stroll. We take a break at the water fountain and let the kids play. We have enjoyed musical events, Christmas lights, and community support walks all in the same beautiful space. It is always clean.

Yelp
A beautiful park surrounding a lake in Altamonte Springs! My husband and I made a visit to Crane's Roost on our first date night about 13 years ago, so it holds a special place in my heart... (insert more mushy comments here). Since then, we've been back plenty of times for a stroll. Perfect for a walk before/after dinner or the movies since it's right next to a mall, restaurants, and movie theater. Lately they've been doing some construction so getting around in some areas is not as convenient, but when it's done I think it will be worth it! The trail around the lake is made up of sidewalks and a boardwalk. The distance is about a mile long, so you can expect to find a lot of runners/walkers. Come check out the events here too, mostly music and wine/beer festivals. Overall, a convenient park to get some physical activity in Seminole County!
google avatar

Sierra V.

Yelp
I truly enjoy this park, especially since it's pet friendly. I wouldn't suggest going to the Halloween event due to it being overcrowded and the lines for each booth being CRAZY long. On a regular day or evening, this park is perfect for walks, jogs or just killing time looking at the water. I love that you can actually walk out over the water and sit on benches and relax. I would suggest this park to anyone and everyone.

Yelp
Crane's Roost Park is beautifully nestled next to a giant lake. It's a great place to walk, jog or bring your dog! They decorate rather extravagantly for Christmas every year and they even have a light water show at the main fountain.
