Crash Palace Backpackers & Rotorua Group Accommodations

Decent hostel with lots of outdoor space and good barbecue but kitchen was small with little storage space. Rooms were a bit dated and bunk beds were old and creeky so couldn’t go up and down without waking others up. Not the most social hostel with lots of long term working residents who aren’t that interested in socialising which is a bit of a trend in a lot of towns in NZ.

The rooms are clean and have nice beds although the mattresses are not good at all. There are no places to hang your wet towel or rain jacket and the lounge area inside is way to small. The kitchen at ground floor is very small (larger one available upstairs but there is to little space in the fridges) and the light is to dim. The WiFi is veeeeerryyy slow. Don't come if you depend on a good Internet connection.

Amazing hostel - very clean (maybe the cleanest hostel I've seen in my travels) and well taken care of all facilities. Shared kitchen was well equipped, bathrooms were a bit old fashioned but very clean. They have laundry possibilities and the rooms have heaters (well needed when it's winter in NZ).

Loved my stay at Crash Palace! Great vibes, comfy rooms, and super friendly staff. You can even borrow a hair dryer and hair straightener from the front desk!! Perfect spot for backpackers in Rotorua. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this hostel. Whenever I'm in town, I choose it without hesitation. The staff there are friendly, the facilities are great, and it's inexpensive.

I can 100% recommend Crash Palace Backpackers in Rotorua! The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need, from local tips to making sure you feel at home. The hostel is spotless and well looked after, with a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, It has a great atmosphere, the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable.

Great location and atmosphere. However, my room was very old and the bunk beds rusty. Other than that, a great place to stay

We loved our stay here at Crash Palace. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and well kept. There was plenty of space to cook with multiple kitchens and dinning room. The courtyard was a nice place to relax, eat and chill. The room was big and sheets were clean. The bed was comfortable. The accommodation was in the middle of town and close to almost everything which was really nice. Lots of free parking around the area too.
