Crash Palace Backpackers & Rotorua Group Accommodations

The rooms are clean and have nice beds although the mattresses are not good at all. There are no places to hang your wet towel or rain jacket and the lounge area inside is way to small. The kitchen at ground floor is very small (larger one available upstairs but there is to little space in the fridges) and the light is to dim. The WiFi is veeeeerryyy slow. Don't come if you depend on a good Internet connection.

Amazing hostel - very clean (maybe the cleanest hostel I've seen in my travels) and well taken care of all facilities. Shared kitchen was well equipped, bathrooms were a bit old fashioned but very clean. They have laundry possibilities and the rooms have heaters (well needed when it's winter in NZ).

I can 100% recommend Crash Palace Backpackers in Rotorua! The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need, from local tips to making sure you feel at home. The hostel is spotless and well looked after, with a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, It has a great atmosphere, the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable.

We loved our stay here at Crash Palace. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and well kept. There was plenty of space to cook with multiple kitchens and dinning room. The courtyard was a nice place to relax, eat and chill. The room was big and sheets were clean. The bed was comfortable. The accommodation was in the middle of town and close to almost everything which was really nice. Lots of free parking around the area too.

What a little gem of a hostel. The staff were really nice and welcoming (Bastien who checked us in was really thorough!). The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were clean, spacious and plentiful. I never had to wait to use the facilities. The jacuzzi was a real treat!

Not my kinda hostel. A lot of people shouting in front of the door and in the hallways till late. A good option if your in to partying. Location is good.

I booked a private room for three nights here, and the receptionist refused to provide one new towel per person per day. He told me that he would give one additional towel if I booked a room for a week. When I insisted that I need a new towel every day and i already paid for it, he said that he would have to check a policy and gave me only two towels per person for three nights - reluctantly. He appeared to believe that everyone should use a towel for more than a day while they charge the same money for an additional might. This is not a normal policy for many other accommodations.

5 Stars – A Fantastic Stay at Crash Palace! I recently stayed at Crash Palace Backpackers & Rotorua Group Accommodations, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The place has a warm, welcoming vibe and is perfect for both solo travelers and groups. The rooms were clean, the facilities were well-maintained, and the common areas offered a great chance to meet people from all over the world. A special shoutout to Bastin Jose Kurian for making our stay even more memorable. His hospitality and attention to detail really stood out—he was always willing to help with a smile, whether it was recommending local spots or making sure everything was running smoothly at the accommodation. The location is central, close to Rotorua’s top attractions, restaurants, and public transport. The outdoor hot tub was an awesome bonus after a day of exploring! Highly recommended if you're visiting Rotorua. Thanks again to Bastin and the whole team at Crash Palace for an unforgettable stay!
