Unusual landscape, very interesting geological area . Lots of short hikes, easy to moderate. Some steep, some accessible. Clean restrooms. Helpful staff. Nice gift shop. Not too crowded— plenty of parking, except at visitors center. $7 entry fee per vehicle or annual pass required. Can spend 30 minutes or several hours, depending on how much hiking you want to do.

Such a unique and interesting landscape with so much to see. The drive around the loop brought beautiful views of snow capped mountains, lava flows, and gorgeous colorful wildflowers! Mid June views are lovely and the breeze made a sunny day so pleasant. Plenty of trails and caves to explore for the active folks and scenic views and resting places for the less able-bodied!

This park is amazing! We happen to go when it was cold and found snow around. The campground is dry camping only. Most sites are small. The park is pretty far from the highway. It was nice and quiet. There’s a few trails.

The craters of the moon is a super neat place to stop and experience at least once. The volcanic rock is really cool to experience. There are lots of short hikes here and some paved hiking/walking trails that are ADA accessible. Many of the trailheads had restrooms available near the parking lots. There is not much shade here so come prepared with plenty of water and apply sunscreen before any of your hikes.

This was such a fun stop! The staff were so kind and the views were amazing! We went spelunking in the lava tubes/ bat caves, and it was wonderful. They are a rough climb in some places, but I was able to do the whole thing in deck shoes; I just had to go slower and more carefully than the others. What an amazing sight.

It is fun for a short visit. The Lava tube caves are really fun and much cooler. We also enjoyed some of the other short hikes. Really cool national monument with different terrain than most.

LOVE ❤️ this historic landmark in Idaho! This is a must-see, for everyone! Lava flows for miles as far as you can see! Unfortunately, we just missed going into their Visitor Center, 😫 next time! We did, however enjoy some self-guided trails and sites along the way, before exiting the park! Next time, will plan on staying there in the overnight camping area, so I can explore more, longer hikes! 🤩 Idaho has some AMAZING geology!!!! Vary diverse!

We weren't sure what to expect here but were pleasantly surprised. We loved this park. The two caves you can go into are pretty cool. Make sure to wear some hiking shoes because it's extremely rocky and you can easily hurt your ankle.
