Why the First Saturday in September Is the Best Time to Visit the Scottish Highlands | Vogue

"Known as the church where the royal family worships each Sunday when they are in residence at Balmoral, onlookers often gather outside to catch a glimpse of the family." - Elise Taylor

Very pretty little church, but the reason we came here was to visit the grave of John Brown, Queens Victorias close friend, when you Google John Browns Grave this is where it sends you but its not here. Its actually about a 10 minute walk away in the Ruins of St Manir's Church, which is pinned on Google, the grave is in the oldest part of the graveyard, the large gates will be locked but the small gate to the right is usually open. I have tried to pin this with Google but for some reason they wont accept the location as somewhere of interest, hope this helps anyone who, like us, is interested.

We came there in a Friday and were honing on burning a canule. But unfortunatly it wss closed at that moment. But the building is beautiful as are the surroundings. Worth a visit.

A lovely church with royal connections. Not open inside however you can wander around the outside and see good views. There is no graveyard here but you can see the old Kirkyard near to the Crathie car park and can walk to it. Many of the servants from Balmoral are buried here. Parking is on the car park at the bottom of the hill. It’s £5 all day so recommend a visit to Balmoral gardens to get the most out of the ticket. Note it’s ANPR on the car park. Note if you have a campervan or motorhome you can park on the car park in designated bay for £10 over night.

Would have given 5 stars if the church had actually been open. I'm disappointed that I was not able to get in and see the stuff that was donated to the church by the Royal family. It is very well maintained and in a lovely setting. I can see why people want to come and visit this lovely historic church

Website shows church open. Reality only opened on sunday for services. There is no notice of this at car park and £5 charged for carpark for 10 minute walk around church. Excessive charge for misinformation.

Absolutely gorgeous, I can see why the Royal family use Crathie. Secluded from the road, very quaint and quiet. If you visit Balmoral Castle then you have to cross the main road and walk up to Crathie Kirk. Well worth a visit, we went on a Tuesday and unfortunately it was closed. But thankfully outside was so pretty with the autumn colours
