Hidden gems in the neighbourhood of Toa Payoh - SilverKris

"A popular family-friendly ice cream parlour that reopened at Block 131 after leaving its previous location, it continues to draw crowds on weekends and evenings for handcrafted ice cream, freshly-baked waffles and freshly-pulled espresso. The brand has also engaged in community efforts, partnering with a local food bank to provide a pick-up point for people in need, and customers often enjoy their treats in nearby playgrounds or on benches." - Joy Fang

Loved the vibe of this cafe. We visited in the evening and tried their Mocha coffee and Hot Cocoa on a rainy day and it was perfect. They have good variety of bread and pastries. We also tried the blueberry cream croissant and it was delicious. Huge seating space, they even have outdoor bench for coffee which adds to the experience. The staff is courteous and helps with the recommendations. Highly recommend and will be back for sure for their innovative ice cream flavours on a hot day.

We were really excited to visit Creamier after its revamp and decided to try the new brunch menu. We ordered the Mortadella Melt and the Creamier Mac & Cheese. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When the Mac & Cheese was served, we initially thought the crust on top was baked cheese. Upon closer look, we realised it was residue from cling wrap. It appeared that the dish had been baked in the oven while still partially wrapped in cling wrap, which is not acceptable. Heating food together with plastic wrap poses health and food safety concerns, as it may release harmful substances when exposed to high temperatures. We were unsure if we had already consumed any of the residue. When we highlighted this to the staff, they offered to replace the dish. However, by then, I had already lost my appetite and requested for the dish to be voided instead. What was more concerning was the response. The staff explained that the cling wrap had been removed, but when asked why there was still residue on the plate, she was unable to give a clear explanation and did not seem to recognise the seriousness of the issue. There was no further service recovery beyond voiding the item, which should be a given since the food was unsafe to consume. Beyond voiding the item, there was no further acknowledgement of the impact this had on our dining experience. Overall, this was a disappointing visit, especially given our expectations after the revamp. We hope Creamier will review its food handling practices and strengthen staff training on food safety and service awareness to prevent such incidents in the future. Edit: we patronised the cafe on Monday 15/12 around 12pm

Creamier Handcrafted Ice Cream and Coffee in Toa Payoh offers unique and delicious flavors, paired perfectly with crispy waffles. Popular flavours include Earl Grey Lavender, Pistachio, and Butterscotch Almond. Their ice cream is made with natural ingredients and crafted in small batches daily, ensuring quality and freshness.

Nice ice cream spot. The waffles were crispy too. The waiter actually dropped our plate of ice cream, but he kindly replaced it with a new one for us right away.

I visited this dessert ice cream shop at around 8:55 pm while on crutches due to a leg injury. Although the shop states that it closes at 10:00 pm, I was informed that waffles and drinks were no longer available and that only ice cream could be ordered. There was also no hot beverages or kitchen service at 9pm, an hour before closing. If the kitchen and drinks stop earlier, this should be clearly stated—either as a “last order” time on Google or on a visible sign outside the shop. This would help prevent customers from making a long trip, especially those with mobility challenges, only to find that most items are unavailable well before closing time.

This place has been on my want to go list for such a long time so was very happy to finally get there today. Followed the road sign to turn right to 131A then discovered even though u pass thru a gantry that clocked u in for $ it was only for drop off to Creamier. Had to exit and u turn to renter, exit gantry again to head to multi-storey which was on the left upon Turing into slip road from Lor 1 Toa Payoh. Navigating to Creamier from the car park was a bit of an adventure due to no signages to “shops”. Sighted a fun playground though. Creamier wasn’t too busy (enuf tables & chairs) but not tailored for folks in a hurry (a lady lining up walked off in a huff when she was told by another customer she was 4th in line). Service was on the slow side but the coffee and ice cream were worth waiting for (if you like creamy ice creams). What made me want to stay & try it out was the amazing aroma upon entering, that old fashioned smell of ice cream with ice crystals, that freshly brewed cuppa, the homey vibes from the assorted artwork (for sale) on the walls, the quirky DIY water spot…

My personal favorite is peanut butter flavor, yummy. And the waffle is very light and airy... so nice! Price is average. Service is quite fast as well.

No queue on a Thursday afternoon so the service was quick. Bartenders are friendly, offer tasting before we choose our flavours, the scoops are of standard size which it suppose to be. Interior, tabletop and drinking water bar looks clean n tidy too. Ice cream is on 6-7/10 sweetness score for me. recommended for all ants-people.
