Cree-Mee Drive In

Cree-Mee Drive In served up ample portions of good food at very reasonable prices. We encountered it on our way from Taos driving east on US-64. It is a typical roadside diner/drive-in: ordinary decor and typical menu. In addition to burgers, shakes, and sandwiches, there are some fried basket dinners and some Mexican selections. I ordered the taco plate (3 tacos with beans and rice), which was pretty standard, good but not gourmet. I particularly enjoyed the beans, which were not cooked down to paste. I dinged the atmosphere 2 stars because the teenage employees got into a squabble with shouting, cursing, and slamming of doors.

Very welcoming to us when we came off of the Philmont trails. I could tell by the amount of other scouts there that this place is a common stopping place when you come off trail. Food was excellent.

Awesome drive in, you must try their thick juicy hatch green chile burger!!! Wow cooked just right! Very prompt service. Their shoestring fries were a golden brown on the outside and soft on the inside. A couple of young people working the restaurant were very courteous, the young man an excellent cook!! Thank you for an awesome burger.. and fries.. and for mannerly young people❤️

We stopped in along our road trip - got a milk shake, cremee, hot dog, fries and of course a pup cup for our furry traveler. The staff were very friendly & everything was delicious.

The staff are very friendly. The food was pretty good, I got a cheese burger and fries and a strawberry malt. The strawberry malt was very heavy but super creamy. You definitely can’t finish it by yourself. It’s basically like ice cream.

Underwhelmed by the burgers. Overcooked, buns not very soft and cones were slightly stale but not much else to choose from in the area. The staff was friendly and we we’re hungry. The swirl cones are unique with the flavors swirled into the vanilla. Don’t regret coming in, and I might return to try other items. The booths are due for some new cushions and upholstery for sure!!

This was only place open today so I gave it a try. Hatch chili cheese burger 11.98 with a side I had the taser tots that were so hard you could not bite them with out crumbling.They were willing to remake them. The burger was on a soggy bun I think from sitting in the grease from the tots. Service was good. Location is close to scout ranch and a laundry They do malts ice cream So a good spot on a hot day Easy parking in front . Can accommodate your unit before or after a trek

One of the great things about travel is finding the small, locally owned gems in places where the national chains aren't around. The Cree-Mee Drive In in Cimarron is one of those gems. Get the Cree-Mee, which is a freshly made "DQ Blizzard" style treat, but even better than the national chain's. I recommend the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup w/ chocolate ice cream, but I am sure all the combos are great. It's a roadside treat in a neat historic town.

Very yummy and super reasonable. We stopped on our way to Taos and the burgers hit the spot. Clean and good service.

We called in our order from Eagle Nest before losing cell service through the pass. Service was great and friendly. Everything looked clean and tidy. We had 2 fried chicken sandwiches, one steak sandwich. Good fountain soda and iced tea. Very good "diner food". Hot crispy protein, warm toasted bun, fresh veggies. Fries were hot and just fine. I should've thought to bring my phone and snap a pic of the updated menu and prices (in the photos I saw when I searched. the menu had 4.99 cheeseburgers, now they're $10-11, I noticed). It's very nice to have more options in Cimarron before a long drive home!

The food was over priced I got two cheese burgers and fry's with medium drink and it came out to 40$ The staff was very rude and slow. Overall I'd rather eat at Cimarrons house of pizza

Best fried chicken sandwich I've had in a long time, juicy and crispy. Our baby liked the Mac and cheese too.

The menu hamburgers was very good. The hamburgers were delicious. I ordered a pistachio ice cream. It was a soft vanilla cone with green stripes color but not pistachio flavor at all. I still recommend the place for very good hamburger

Really good malt with excellent balance of chocolate and malt flavoring. Appreciated the boba straw for easier sipping. BLT was pretty good and onion rings were excellent!

Swamped with Scouts from Philmont and they still brought out great burgers and delightful malts

Four stars only because we didn't t try everything. On our way to Red River and needed a quick bite. Got a couple shakes and a bowl green aka hatch green chile stew with minced pork. Decent sized bowl, homemade flavors and that signature New Mexico green chile kick. Heard the fries smothered with green chile rocks too. Curious about the burger but the bowl of green and a strawberry shake is a winning combo. Cheap and friendly staff.

Extremely appetizing burgers, ice cream, and sandwiches. I ordered the chicken sandwich battered (obviously) with a side of Mac and cheese and loved it. Perfect size and crispiness and paired with a decent Mac and cheese tasted great. Also ordered Reese's milkshake and it was great, definitely on par with Andy's or Dairy Queen. Service was fast, wasn't too busy but food came within 10 minutes and took food to the table which was kind. Inside wasn't the most attractive but was not a downside maybe needs some renovation but nothing that's gonna stop me from coming here! Overall, great local diner food, love the place and can't wait to go back!

the food was insanely bland and disgusting. I didn't try any dessert or anything but everything was horrible. the ambiance as well but the people were friendly. just don't ever come here lol, get subway or gas station snacks.

This place is a gem! Food is good, ice cream is great. Service is wonderful for such a small village. Couldask for anything better.

Surprising. Dont look like much from the outside but we ordered tacos to burgers to chicken fried steak. Everything was great!!!! The ice cream is worth the trip alone, but everything else is great also!!!

Very nice people!! Delicious home cooked Mexican chili and burgers and hot dogs. Great ice cream creations!! We are from 285 miles away and come here every time we are in town. Expect slow small town cooking, & hole in the wall atmosphere.

Great shakes but horrible food and the wait time is awful I got stomach problems I had a simple cheeseburger that I could've made at home and I could of made it perfectly The only thing good there is they are nice and they have good shakes if you live in Cimarron please help this place they need your help

Best green chili hot dog ever created!! Green chili is fantastic and hot like you would expect in New Mexico!! We were at Philmont Scout Ranch for the week. Cree Mee was a great respite. Shakes and cones were great too!!

Yes, the building could use some work, yes the service could be faster. Now that we have that out of the way, the food is excellent. Take a look at where you are. You are not in California nor in Texas. You are in rural New Mexico. Order what New Mexico is known for and you won't be disappointed. Whenever we go to Philmont we stop at Cree Mee for dinner. Order the enchilada plate Christmas style. Great chili. I like the green a little better than the red but they are both good. Now, to my Texas friends, New Mexico and Colorado Chili is not the same stuff you have in Texas. It is more of a sauce rather than a stew.

Not even worth one star. The shakes are made with water. No cream about it. Bland and horrible. Not just one, all 5 we bought. The staff, young girls who aren't happy to be working. No smiles, welcome, have a good day, nothing. Seemed miserable to be there. Not asking for the red carpet but a little nice goes a long way.

Don't offer double cheeseburgers on your menu and then say "We're not doing doubles right now". Super frustrating. Run a sharpee through the menu if you don't want to do doubles.

Had a butterscotch shake. One size only, over-priced, and really light on the butterscotch flavoring.

Stay away from this place. Very run down as was the food and super slow....I mean S-L-O-W. I ordered the 'smothered hamburger' which I was told was a chilli burger and also ordered two tacos. The burger; The bun was the size of a whopper bun...the burger was the size of a McDonalds regular burger placed on top of the unopened whopper bun. Then it was covered with a thin meat sauce (chill?) and cheese. The french fries were iced cold and the young lady did not believe me so she put her hand on my plate to feel the tempreture. $7.99. The taco's were your standard size Del Taco variety except that the shells were very stale to the point of being rancid. The meat was just plain browned ground beef. No seasoning at all. The Coke was good and cold. So....when leaving I requested (at the order counter) a refill for the soft drink. The young woman was surprised to see me (?) and yelled back to the kitchen 'where are those fries?' At that point they produced a cup full of burnt fries. I told her 'a little too late, I'm done with my lunch'. At that time she made a nasty remark under her breath. "don't serve cold food and please do not touch customers food on the plate". Disgusting. BTW...the chilli was ok...we ate it and one bite of the tacos. The burger and the remains of the tacos were left on the dirty table. As I said...we enjoyed the ice cold Coke.

The Cree mee is a great little restaurant. They have a nice menu of casual burgers and southwest cuisine. The staff are very friendly and the portions are big. A great value for your money. They handle the large numbers of scout units from Philmont with ease. Would recommend this place to anyone who would like a great meal at a good price.

Above average standard drive-in fare plus surprisingly good salads and grilled chicken. Cree-Me is in Cimarron aka last stop before Philmont Scout Reservation. As with everything in Cimarron, it looks a bit worn- which is misleading. Obviously a drive-in is perfect for a pack of boy scouts (and staff) to get their last shot at burgers, fries, and ice cream for two weeks. What is a pleasant surprise is that Cree Me is clean and friendly (let's face it, it's a captive market so they could get by with less), they have great salads (taco salad was amazing), and the chicken is real chicken breasts. I hadn't expected anything remotely resembling healthy or tasty.

Oh my gosh, the green chili cheese fries are so good!! The chili is homemade and made fresh daily, and the employees are so friendly!! They make a great Vanilla Coke, that is so refreshing and tastes like an old fashioned soda. When you visit Cimarron, be sure to frequent the Cree-mee daily!!!

After a day of touring museums, etc., we stopped at the Cree-Mee Drive In to eat. We both had standard drive in food which consisted of a hot dog, fish sandwich, curly fries, and two chocolate shakes. Everything was good, but not extraordinary. Service was fine.

I returned in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. I still enjoy Cree-Mee and look forward to my next meal there. :-)

Place is fairly good. Good tacos and a laid back atmosphere. Reminds me of a Sonic before they got into the whole drive-in idea. If you're hungry in a pinch, it's a decent stop.

So I paid for my food and 45 mins later still have no food and have to catch a bus in 20 mins. The service and employees at this restaurant are terrible would not recommend from the rude and tart responses from Cree Mee not even that good of food for waiting an hour

Their service is shaky at best, but gosh-darn it if they don't have the best fried food around! After a week of hiking on the trail I cannot wait for a hamburger and Coke; unfortunately, I dread ordering because I'm never greeted with a smile and always the same, dead eyes. Other than service, A+ food.

Food is pretty bland, service is sub-par. The prices are low. I would overall recommend this restaurant though. Great for a quick eat when passing through.

While working at Philmont I frequented the Cree Mee when I needed a break from dining hall food. The dishes here can bee hit or miss, but after talking to some people and a few visits you can figure our whats good. One recommendation would be the green chile cheeseburger, its no gourmet burger but for a drive in burger its dang good. Another great dish is the enchiladas smothered in green chile. This is a small town spot with solid food, if you are looking to be blown away this isn't the place for you, but they do offered some solid food in a no fills atmosphere.

The restaurant isn't the best. Service was slow and the staff at the restaurant were a bit snappy. The cheeseburger I ordered had an American single on it instead of actual cheese. Wasn't worth the price at all. The cheeseburger was also incredibly greasy. Overall, this restaurant is good if you feel like fast food and have some time to kill. There is free wifi in the restaurant though so you can use it while you are waiting for your food. This restaurant is probably the only option in cinnamon new Mexico.

Walked in and stood at counter to order and nobody who worked there acknowledged our existence. I guess we interrupted the girl behind the counter doodling break because she looked annoyed when we began to tell her what we wanted. Rolling her eyes she turned over her doodling book and took our order and gave the slip of paper to another girl who figured up our total and then went back to doodling and never said anything. In her defense she appeared to have a freshly pierced lip and maybe hurt to talk. Any way why are you up front to take orders then be annoyed when it came time to do her job. We played it safe and selected club sandwiches. I mean who can screw up a club sandwich. Right? Meal arrived in a reasonable length of time. Sandwiches came and they were just average. Bag of chips that came with meal was almost the highlight of our experience. Nobody who worked there ever said Hi, bye, thanks for your business, kiss my ass etc etc. First and last time there. If it's open eat at the Burrito Banquet its a food trailer up the road and is the exact polar opposite of this joint. See our review of it. Only reason we gave this place a one star is because we didn't get violently ill.

I know you don't have many choices in Cimarron but skip here. Burger meat was OK, fries and onion rings were very good. However, chicken strips for the kids tasted like fish (it was the fish sandwich special today) and the red and green chile for the burrito and burgers were cold and the cheese didn't melt. Waited 2 hrs for food and drinks. Didn't get some items for which we paid. Had to deliver our own sodas. Then, told they ran out of items we ordered. They're excuse was that they had a lot of orders and that WE should understand. Service was either nonresponsive or rude. Do not recommend for any Boy Scout crews.

Good place to get ice cream when you are done with your truck at Philmont. As enough seating to host your old crew or two or three. Lots of selection of ice cream and tasty freezes.

Ooh man the malts here are amazing and they have sweet potato fries! Lady that helped us was very friendly too.

Came here after a 12 day trek at Philmont and their burger satisfied my cravings. It's pretty good for a small drive-in but it does take them a while to get the food out. Their milkshakes and ice cream looked really good and it was when I tried the ones my friends got but I ordered the wrong one :( I got the hot cocoa below 20 degrees ( I don't remember the full name) which was supposed to be like a hot cocoa milkshake but it was not! It was like a packet of hot cocoa mixed with ice and water with whipped cream on the top. It would have been 20 times better if it was made with milk. Still a good place though.

Every Monday night during the summer of 2010. It was decent enough. We also got there just before or after closing time and we'd also get served.

Cimarron attracts a big summer crowd of seasonal residents that work at the near by scout camp. For a town that does not offer a whole lot of cheep places to eat. This is one of the best. As one of these seasonal residents of the area this is a great place to go if you are looking for just a simple fast food. The burgers are huge by fast food standards and the offer the normal fair of fries, chicken tenders, motzarella sticks and other snack like foods. It also offers the normal New Mexican foods like burritos, enchiladas and bowls of red or green chili which can also be put on top of many other menu items. Plus they are always open later than almost anything in town.

Best food in Cimarron.The chili is outstanding,best around.Green is spicy and so good on the smothered Cheeseburger.An old Mom and pop joint but good. Can't wait till I am back in Cimarron again. Will most definitely eat there again. Plus now they have amazing donuts and rolls for sale there.

Excellent green chili burger and curly fries! Service was great. Had 17 people and we were all served within 15 minutes. Strawberry shake was also excellent.

affordable good food. service is quick but sometimes in the summer there is a little cause there are so many boy scouts. best place to eat in town. quick and casual. all be there any time im back in town
