Had dinner in the bar, we had the dog with us so couldn’t use the restaurant. Not an issue, especially as the menu was the same. We had prawn salad and scallops with black pudding. For main courses we had lamb shank and pop eye steak. All was very tasty and came with great service. The locals were also really friendly and we had a nice chat with a few of them. Got some good recommendations for dog walks. The bar manager Kenny is very welcoming and made our dog feel at home, she loves a biscuit!

What an amazing experience, we booked the Hogmanay package and were not disappointed in any way. The hotel building and grounds are traditional, warm and cosy. The rooms are well appointed and everything is spotlessly clean. The menu and food are local and of excellent quality. The bar area is really friendly and often used by locals so it has a really 'local' buzz about it and is a great place to enjoy on cold winters evening with the fire roaring in the hearth. Kenny behind the bar will keep you smiling with his wonderful sense of Scottish wit and humour. The Hogmanay evening entertainment and dinner is a fabulous event, with many peopled dressing up to the nines to enjoy a full on, but really well organised evening of food, drink and entertainment. The evening flies by, and no sooner than you have finished your welcome glass of fizz and canapes, than you are standing in the gardens watching the amazing fireworks at midnight. Now I stay in many hotels, and it is not the shiny marble and grand check in lobbies that make an overnight stay a great one, it is the people who work, run and manage a hotel that make it special. We got to know Sara and her amazing team well during the stay, they truly have their guest's interests, happiness and satisfaction at heart. They will all go the extra mile to see guests have everything required and always with a big welcoming Scottish smile. Highly recommended at New Year, or any other time of the year, you won't be disappointed.

We came across this hotel on our way through Newton Stewart on a last minute visit and road trip in the West of Scotland. It was a welcoming hotel at the end of our first day and didn’t pre book. We were made most welcome by Tracy on reception, booked in and went out for a quick drive. Upon returning an hour later we had a lovely drink in the sun in the beer garden before dinner . An excellent meal, one of the best rib eye steaks I have had, all the food was great just what we needed. The waiter , Kenny was great, with his sense of humour and stories. The breakfast the following morning was also excellent, all freshly cooked. |Although a bit dated, it was clean, tidy and comfortable with plenty of character. The stack were all friendly and made us feel welcome. It is a lovely old building, and it has creaky flooring and nooks and crannies and showing its age. It suited our needs perfectly, particularly as a last minute option.

Five star for sure, the meals where a slightly on the large size, but full of flavor. We had lasagne and mince and tatties. Would visit here again. Staff are incredibly friendly. And dog friendly. A comfortable atmosphere, enjoyed the whole evening.

In for a family birthday meal. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely man behind the bar. Food was lovely, but main waitress/ manager was so rude and not very helpful at all, completely ruined our night. Not just our table we could hear her speak to other tables in the same tone. The rest of the staff were very nice and it’s a shame that one member off staff let the place down.

The hotel looks nice on arrival but is very dated and tired when inside. Our twin room was in desperate need of a revamp and a good deep clean. Average food in the restaurant but its reasonably cheap and good service. The barman has a very strange sense of humour and was quite rude and appeared to be quite aggressive at times , he is definitely not suited to a front of house role. The breakfast was good and the service staff where very pleasant and helpful.

Visited The Creebridge House Hotel for lunch, whilst on holiday in the area. As it was a celebration we had three courses. The food was excellent, we could not fault it at all. We ate in The Brasserie. The room is a little on the dark side, with no outlook, it was a beautiful sunny day, outside. The room is a little dated and could perhaps benefit from a freshen up, by being decorated. The regular clientele are probably more on the older side. However, food wise, you won’t be disappointed. The couple who served us were friendly.

Traditional old style hotel. The building itself offers clues to its age with some slightly uneven floors, and a somewhat charming expedition up to your room. The staff are first class. The barman, who's name is Kenny, remembers everything, and would not accept a decent tip, "It's my job", he says. The rest of the staff are all excellent too, friendly and helpful. The food was really good, with a wide choice, and great value for money. This is not a production line experience, everything is individual and charming. Don't be in a hurry.

Yelp
The Creebridge House Hotel, is located in the Minnigaff area of Newton Stewart. It is a small hotel offer just 8 bedrooms however it is very popular for a meal and even to stay. I understand that there has been an extensive refurb so the decoration has been given a necessary refresh which only adds to the appeal of the place. We had our wedding reception here and without a shadow of a doubt would recommend to anyone for a reception. We were treated very well and have to say that my guests still talk about the food a number of years later, it felt like the meals had been individually prepared. We visit every so often for a bar meal too and have not been disappointed. It is not the cheapest place but when you get good quality food you can't complain.

Yelp
We drop in regularily for family meals and have our annual Christmas 'works outing' here. Always a relaxed atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble. Good wine list and the food is always up to standard.
