Creek Nation Council Oak Park

We were just passing through Tulsa and looked up historical places. This came up and intrigued me. We de ides to go see it. The magnificence of the tree is coupled with its significance in the history is of this nation as taught in the engraved plaques around the fire sculpture nearby. The story Intrigued me enough to learn more as we continued on our travels.

Wonderful historical Park in au great near downtown location. No kids play structures or amenities to speak of but a wonderful place to let the dogs run and enjoy some hillside views. There's a placard explaining some of the historical significance of the council of tree and location.

There is powerful history behind how the oak came to be as important as it is to the Creek Nation, and it’s worth knowing and seeing. I just rated it four stars because as a park, it’s very small and there aren’t any paths or seating that I could see. It’s about 1/4 of a city block, so it’s a place for contemplation, not exercise.

Beautiful small park that represents wonderful things truth and justice and a long history of our Native Americans. Everyone should visit and learn more about it.

A small beautiful park rich in culture!

The park itself was great. It needed a few tiles repaired but the grass and flower gardens where well maintained. The problem we encountered was none icked up after there dogs. The history and signage was well done though and the tree was magnificent.

Very interesting part of Creek history!

This is a tiny tiny little park with historical and cultural significance. Across the park is a little fenced dog park with another sculpture. I would recommend making this a stop on your walk thru the neighborhood but not worth a long detour.
