Where to Cure Crepe Cravings in Chicago

"A rare non-Filipino spot inside Seafood City, Serbian-owned Crepe House Cafe has carved out a niche with massive sweet and savory European crepes with distinctive cultural nods. Try the berry-loaded Queen Berry, which comes with a choice of Nutella or Eurocrem, a Serbian sweet chocolate spread; or the Bananarama, which is dusted with crumbled Plazma cookies, another Serbian favorite." - Naomi Waxman, Ashok Selvam

Food was great, all ingredients were fresh. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it has a calm atmosphere. It’s a family-friends oriented place. Not a busy place if you want to just relax, there are also some outside tables. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would say customer service was 10/10. /They have pistachio crepes and others options that might not be in the main menu, you can also customized your order (make your own crepe)

This place is a hidden gem! First time to try. My son ordered chicken crepe and I ordered crispy pistachio crepe topped w raspberry and blueberry. It’s crispy and ohhhh so yum!!! My son said his plate was a full on lunch! The serving is generous and the price is decent! The place has a fun youngish vibe and clean. Loooove the colors and decors! Service is warm and friendly! We are def going back again! Thank you for your beautiful food! Candy & Reno

Highly Recommend: the sweet and savory crepes were great if have a chance to be around area will definitely stop again. Had the breakfast savory crepes and that was good. Also the queen berry with euro cream was great! The presentation is good but I wish the queen berry was served just on a simple plate rather than a stone plate like they do (I guess something can ask for, while it looks nice just not as practical to eat in my opinion). In any case the food tasted great and I would definitely recommend it.

I've been here multiple times in the past couple years. Their crepes are fresh, super delicious and very filling. I usually get the Queen Berry or the Chicken crepe. Both are equally good depending on what you're craving. The only downside is that it can take awhile to get your food since they are such a tiny place. But I love the food here, and the staff are always friendly.

Google
OMG, they are getting better and better, we usually order the same, but this time, we taste the crispy Pistacho... wow, it tastes like Ferrero enhances with Pistacho and cream..... simply delicious. Came back today for late dinner. The last 2 pictures are from the strawberry banana crepe and the breakfast crepe, I'm out of words. It's absolutely delicious, the plating is spot on, and the food is superb.

Great place. Casual environment, small place, clean, and excellent service. We shared Turkey and Reeces Crepes. Wow, delicious!! And super fulfilling. All cravings were satisfied and left with a sugar-caffeine buzz.

Update 2/1/2023: I don't go here often and each time I go it seems like there's new management, a new menu and the crepes are plated differently. Still 5 stars on the crepes and service though. I tried the banana and strawberry crepe with nutella. It was really good! Service was fast around closing time. Cashier was friendly as well.

Yelp
We were in need of a sweet treat and took to Yelp to find something local. We read the incredible reviews and decided to give it a try! Located right by Seafood City, the Crepe House Cafe offers a variety of sweet options. From crepes, to waffles to ice cream. We ordered our treat to go. We decided to go with the strawberry banana crepe with chocolate ice cream. The crepe was nice and warm and was perfectly filled with both strawberries and bananas. I think what held me back from giving it a full five stars is that the graham crackers/ biscuit crumbs felt like they took away from flavor, and the crepe was a bit too chewy. Maybe the dough was just a tad too thick, but the Nutella, strawberry bananas in a dessert what's better than that? Overall the staff was super nice, there is a little bit of a language barrier with the person working, but we got what we ordered and it came out quickly too despite being made to order.

Yelp
Our crepes were delicious! We had a party of four and ordered two dessert crepes. Service was not speedy but honestly it gave us a chance to relax and chat. And it was worth the wait. The crepes were fantastic and the cook / server was pleasant. The cleaner they use has a strong scent, but it is not bleach nor is it Pine-Sol scented either, thankfully. The shop is small and has no bathroom. We would visit again to try other flavors.

Yelp
A hidden gem that I'm glad I stumbled upon. After eating a lot of delicious grilled food at Grill City and wandering over to all the bakeries in the shopping center, I was about to settle on some fine pastries with ube, but decided to check out the last dessert place I Yelped. I almost didn't find it as it was hidden on the side of the shopping center without the most obvious sign. Fortunately, our group didn't let the plain sign deceive us as the inside of this restaurant is actually quite colorful and nicely decorated! Given the reasonable prices, we also figured we could get a small dessert and avoid the food / sugar coma later. We were also lucky that we were wrong in this regard as well! The iced latte here is quite good, better than the Starbucks I had the day before and well balanced in terms of creaminess and strength (without being too bitter). This satisfied my coffee craving pretty well. The family banana split on the other hand... is something I'm still dreaming about days later. Given the extremely reasonable price, it was a huge surprise when it was served in a giant bowl with 5 very generous scoops of ice cream (all different flavors), with two oreos, 6 pocky sticks, and bananas all around the side and bottom! Fortunately, this wasn't just a work of art -- the dish is as delicious as it looks. Now that I've had an opportunity to check out pictures from other Yelpers, it's quite exciting to see that every dessert they make is a work of art and very generously sized. I can't wait to come back and slowly try everything on their menu :) Overall, super delicious mix between art and flavor with incredibly good prices. I would make a special trip to enjoy the desserts here, even from the suburbs!

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time today with a friend before walking to labagh around the corner, the gentleman behind the counter was welcoming and other patrons seemed very friendly. We got one savory, the house style crepe and one sweet crepe, the banana and strawberry with nutella. my goodness, they were amazing and well prepared, it did take a bit of time so i would build in leisure time and it is absolutely worth it! im looking forward to enjoying the cute small cafe and food again soon :))

Yelp
Hello my Foodzies, we tried a new place, Crepe house cafe at 5033 n Elston Ave. in Chicago. It's a small order and eat place with what could be a kids art studio, plastic tables and chairs. The menu is hung from the ceiling with many options all the crepes are hand made per order. The menu was both sweet and savory and included different coffees, teas and shakes options. The owner was very nice, our order taker was friendly and knowledgeable. Glenda had the ground beef crepe, the meat wasn't seasoned very well, the crepe was light and fluffy. I elected to go with the breakfast crepe, it was stuffed with turkey, bacon, mushrooms, 3 cheeses, tomato and 2 eggs. It was filling but also under seasoned. The saving grace was the eggplant and cucumber sauce. That mixed with the crepe tasted awesome. I give this restaurant 3 stars, try it yourself and let me know what you think. Ciao Ciao for now.

Yelp
I needed to get a fix because the restaurant I went to earlier left a "bad" taste in my mouth and I wanted something sweet. The Crepe House was the solution!! It's a small storefront with maybe 4-5 small tables to enjoy your desserts. It's right around the corner from Seafood City and conveniently located off the highway so that's a plus. I order the Maple banana crepe and it was to die for. A very large crepe stuffed with bananas and topped with more bananas, walnuts and a maple glaze. The real whipped cream was a perfect addition. My husband are not fans of Nutella so he chose a banana strawberry crepe that was yummy, too, but I will have to come back to try the other varieties. They also make coffees, expressos, and lattes but the crepe really satisfied my hunger. Besides the sweet crepes they also offer savory crepes for breakfast, lunch or just a quick dinner. They have ice creams too and packaging for carry-outs as there several waiting for their orders. No bathrooms but you can go next door for that. Drop on by!

Yelp
I wish I took a picture of my food before digging in but let me tell you it looks just like the pictures already posted. It was so good and not one member of my family could finish it. The serving size is incredible and the service was great. Only thing missing is the non coffee drink options. My family and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
We came here for brunch on Fourth of July weekend and had a great experience! I ordered the strawberry banana crepe with euro cream and my husband ordered the queen berry crepe also with euro creme. The euro cream is like a mixed vanilla and chocolate cream, very tasty! Service was great, the employees here were all super friendly. Can't wait to come back!

masuma k.

Yelp
The crepes here are amazing!!! The workers are so sweet and attentive and they truly take their time into making sure each crepe is wonderful. The decor inside is SO CUTE and bright and very welcoming. I come here so often and will continue to do so!!!!

Ruth P.

Yelp
The dessert crepes are amazing - they look beautiful, made with fresh ingredients, and taste yummy. They are served on black stone plates and have the whip cream perfectly placed. The berries and bananas are fresh and they add tons of fruit in top and inside yummy!! They biscuit is crushed and sprinkled on top. The European cream is chocolaty but not over bearing. A must try and will revisit again!

Yelp
We stopped in here for crepes on our way to another event, and weren't sure how much time to allow, but as it ended up it was perfect. Parking was easy in the adjacent lot, and service was quick and friendly. We were greeted extremely by the woman at the counter. She was warm and welcoming, and seemed genuinely glad we'd found them when I told her it was our first time there. We chatted about how they'd opened not too long before the pandemic, and I could tell just from this short exchange that she valued her customers. I ordered the Turkey crepe, which also had ham, bacon, and cheese. It was nicely full of all of these ingredients, and the cucumber and cherry tomato garnishes were a nice addition to the side of red pepper paste. My husband had the breakfast crepe, minus cheese, and said his was also very good. My smoothie was delicious, and came garnished with a large strawberry and a paper umbrella -- fun! My husband had one of the teas, which came piping hot, so he saved most of it to drink later after it had cooled off We'll definitely be back, and I can't wait to try a sweet crepe the next time!

Yelp
Hidden gem! So glad we tried this place out. Generous portions and the food was all delish and fresh. I had an iced caramel macchiato and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too sweet, tasted like a real macchiato, not fake stuff! The sweet and savory dishes were approved by young and old. The owner was also super friendly and explained everything to us so patiently as it was our first time here. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place opened awhile back but they just changed owners. I was indifferent about the place but the bubble waffles were good, now with the new owners I went ahead and got an Americano... it was not bad, I would get it everyday but I can't in my right mind pay more than 5 dollars for a coffee everyday. The new owners are very nice and I will be coming back as the food and cafe is still just as good with some new add ons to the menu.
google avatar

Nancy R.

Yelp
This is my new coffee shop spot I always looking for new places to get coffee from and I'm so glad I gave Crepe House a chance. The Nutella iced latte is amazing, and so is their service! I will keep coming here for sure !!
google avatar

Yelp
Very small place. The crepes were delicious, but a little pricey. The atmosphere doesn't match the food quality and price. It isn't dirty, but doesn't feel clean. Hard to explain that, but you'll understand if you visit. The crepes are worth trying. I ordered the queen berry, and it was delicious. Fruit was fresh and crepe was done properly.

Yelp
Crepe House Cafe is tucked away on the "side" of the Seafood City complex, so it can be easy to miss. It is a colorful little enterprise, and apparently the crepes here taste pretty good. Despite its less than central location, a steady stream of customers came by while we were there. There is seating available inside as well as outside. There is of course free parking at the mall. My bud and I stopped by on a random weekday afternoon, and we had to wait a few minutes as the woman was making a crepe for a takeout order. We decided that an ice cream cone would be a nice treat after our shopping excursion. We each went for a one-scoop cone, and boy was the serving size of the single scoop generous. My green tea ice cream tasted great in the waffle cone and is a relative bargain for only $2.25. My bud enjoyed his cone too. We appreciated the extra napkins handed to us, as well as the availability of the hand sanitizer dispenser.

Yelp
If food is art, then you need to check out this restaurant. The Crepe House Cafe is beautifully decorated, which matches its food perfectly. We ordered a cafe latte and banana split so that we could try a couple of their ice cream flavors. We split the five scoops of ice cream among three people. It took a good 15 minutes for our food and drink to come out. When I was starting to wonder what was taking so long for ice cream to come out, we were brought a piece of art and by far the most beautiful ice cream creation that I have ever tasted. You must check out the pictures to do this justice. The ice cream was fantastic but it was the oreo cookies, graham cracker crumbles, coated cookies sticks, and candy shell that makes this a special experience. We had the green tea, cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip, strawberry, and butter pecan ice creams. I am very excited to go back and try more. I highly recommend this cafe as a great treat from your typical cafe experience.

Yelp
Stopped in the other day after grocery shopping with my mom. I was hoping for a juice or something without caffeine. They mostly have coffee but in their refrigerator they have an assortment of different canned and bottled beverages. I ended up buying a carbonated IZZE. I wish I was hungry enough for a crepe because they looked delicious. No indoor seating right now but there is a patio. The staff was nice and there was hand sanitizer inside for customers.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp on our drive from Chicago to Milwaukee. When we arrived, I thought we may end up leaving because it was such a tiny little place. We, however, stayed and are so happy we did. The food tasted great and the presentation of each was wonderful. The two men running the cafe were very kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place. Don't let the size of the place fool you! They also offer ice cream Sundays which looked delicious. I took pics of the food and the store, but for some reason, it won't let me post them. I'll post on FB. Glad we found this little treasure!

Yelp
This place honestly never disappoints. It's my go-to crepe place in Chicago and has a great menu including sweet and savoury crepes, waffles, ice cream and hot/cold coffee and drinks. Great seating options as well indoor and outdoor. Love their Nutella alternative as well -- Euro Cream. It's very creamy and leaves a nice texture in your mouth. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Crepes anyone? As you know I have a weakness for crepes and this place did not disappoint. The crepes were perfectly moist and gorgeous. The menu is inventive see Pic. Had the kit kat. It was too sweet for me but that doesn't take away from the quality and the presentation. I decided to try this place because of Zee and Nash. They run the place and were very warm and welcoming.

Yelp
Super clean and friendly environment ,the manager and staff where very professional ,after all we are just talking about a crepe place but they really made me feel like I was In a 5 star Michelin restaurant.the portions were so big that I had to take the left overs home ,which I never do . I will absolutely recommend this place to all my friends .

Corinne G.

Yelp
Great customer service, but I'm assuming its under new management the crepe was not made as I expected. I don't think I will be coming back
google avatar

Larissa M.

Yelp
Today was my first time going to the Crepe House Cafe, I was welcomed at the door by a great and sweet woman. The food took around 10/15 mins to come out and it was DELICIOUS. I felt like I was taking a bite out of Europe. Definitely worth the price and the wait.

Yelp
This place is so good for some sweets if craving it. My favorite is strawberry bubble waffles, literally my go to:) not only is it good but the vibe you get when you come in is very welcoming they have nice decor and the lights add just more to it

Yelp
Crepes are great and the service was awesome! Very fun atmosphere inside. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Yummm.... Super cute little crepe place. Are they the best crepes I've had? No. But a really friendly staff, clean and safe and the menu of crepes is really unique and fun. Who doesn't want lucky charm marshmallows on a crepe? So good! Plus the ice cream and coffee is delicious. So glad I found this place on Yelp.

Yelp
Yummy!! This place is perfect for take out crepes on these chilly mornings. I took my kids to try something new. It was a hit! We tried three kinds and loved every bite. The owner is as sweet as her creations and her dedication shows in the shop. This is a don't miss stop!
google avatar

Yssis Z.

Yelp
First time trying this place, I've been craving Crepes for a while and definitely didn't disappoint sadly I didn't take a pic of my crepes but here's a pic of my BF's waffle

Linda P.

Yelp
Walked into a small crepe bar, the decor is very juvenile with rainbows, balloons and childish decor. The crepes were delish, tender and plenty of fresh fruit.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
We live right down the street and have been wanting to come for a while! Today we had the strawberry banana crepe and it was delicious and quite big for $8! Would love to try their bubble waffles with ice cream. Cozy and cute interior. Hoping this semi hidden spot get noticed more! Easy 5 stars. Update: have been here a handful of times and their crepes are simply amazing! Even during this COVID pandemic their crepes to-go are perfect. My favorite is the maple banana crepe. Please go support them! Their lattes and coffee are just as good.

Michael H.

Yelp
What are the accurate hours? I've gone twice over recent days based on Google posted hours and they were closed before listed hours both times.

Yelp
We ordered breakfast from here today and it was absolutely lovely! The savory crepe with ham and bacon was such a tasty and filling breakfast. First of all the crepe was HUGE, and absolutely packed to the brim with deli meats and cheese!! I only ate 1/2 and was stuffed! Which means I get to eat the other 1/2 later for dinner! Two meals for $8 -- I love it! Within the savory crepe the bacon was perfectly crisp & the ham and mozzarella were so flavorful. You can really tell they use high quality deli meats and cheeses. Also the crepe came with some kind of absolutely delicious red pepper dipping sauce that really took the dish to the next level! For a sweet crepe my sister had the classic Nutella crepe and she was so impressed. The crepes batter was literally perfect -- super thin and light & packed with creamy filling. The crumbled biscuits on top added a subtle perfect crunch. And the restaurant was so nice to even send us some vanilla ice cream along with the crepe. The ice cream was amazing. It tasted homemade and was such a nice touch. Overall we had a super filling, fresh & tasty breakfast that was packed nicely and arrived from delivery so fast. We are so excited to try other menu items and even some lattes next time too. You can really tell they put thought and care into their food here! So glad we have such a great & unique place in our neighborhood.

Yelp
Unassuming location serves up excellent sweet and savory crepes. We split the savory breakfast crepe and the strawberry/banana/Nutella crepe! Delicious!

Arturo M.

Yelp
Come here for a great breakfast or brunch! They don't serve mimosas but they have delicious crepes of all kind. Coffees and Cappuccinos!
google avatar

Bari L.

Yelp
Crepe house always out does themselves with their awesome ice cream and crepes. They always impress and their prices are better then most of these over priced places.

Favian C.

Yelp
I think it's important to keep the correct times that your business is open. I arrived at 1 pm on Monday but the place was closed. Times were updated a week ago but it was not open.
google avatar

CM D.

Yelp
Oh no, said my kids. We don't want crepes. I don't want crepes for LUNCH, those are for dessert, said my spouse. Then they were all eating savory ham and cheese crepes, so they shut up for a while. After that, we had Nutella crepes and now we're all in a food coma. These things are gigantic, by the way. Not dainty little morsels. Mr. "Crepes Are Not Actual Food" had a breakfast crepe with eggs, vegetables and ham and was too full to have any of the dessert crepes. Good, more for me. The coffee is good, too.
google avatar

Jasna S.

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this little gem. I will definitely come back. The place is very clean inside. The food and Latte were very delicious. The portions are huge, and full of ingredients, it is definitely worth the money.
google avatar

Mallory S.

Yelp
SOOOOO gooooooood. I love crepes and these ones are delicious. They are bigger so you get a great bang for your buck. They have them stuff with fresh fruit, Nutella and sweet cream. You can also get a Kit Kat one and even great savory crepe options. They have a variety of ice cream flavors if you want yours a la mode. The also have a great latte / espresso selection. It's a very relaxing place and great for doing work :)
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
This is a spot I HAD to review immediately. The crepe does not fall apart and fits in perfectly with Nutella. The biscuit and ice cream on top is phenomenal. The interior is amazing. The walls are ironically my favorite color.

Haris S.

Yelp
Great crepes, great service! Highly recommend!! I called yesterday to see if they were closed; he said they just closed but would be willing to take my order for pick up. My friend was visiting from Georgia and wanted to try a crepe, and he made it happen! Thank you!
google avatar

BeMariel S.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by this tiny crepe place! It is filled with wonders! Cheerful atmosphere! We love love love their crepes and waffles! Big servings, lots of fruits and cheese. The staff are really nice too so just ignore the other reviews! Open early and perfect for dessert after your shopping at seafood city. Free parking! Def will come back!
google avatar

Joy L.

Yelp
AMAZING crepes and service! Definitely a hidden gem in Chicago! The service is quick and wonderful, and I'll absolutely be coming back! Also please note, unlike most places in Chicago, there is easy parking here! Don't make the same mistake I did!
google avatar

Yelp
If you want a fresh homemade crepe, I would 100% recommend this place. The staff are the friendliest people ever! The crepes are still warm, and they don't go easy with the toppings. I would say for what you are paying these crepes are worth it for their size and taste! Fruits are always fresh, and bacon as well. Place is cute and clean.
