"Per its name, Crescent Beach is a mile-long, crescent-shaped sandy beach, and its less than 10 miles from Portland. There are kayak rentals, restrooms and showers, walking trails, grills, picnic tables, and even the occasional food or ice cream truck. Because it’s a state park, the hours of operation are more limited than other beaches, but the soft sand and calmer waves make up for it." - Travel + Leisure Editors

My wife and I stayed in Downtown Portland and were looking to stop by Crescent Beach to see the foliage and walk the beach. Headed south and slowly made our way back to home base. Nice and clean beach to walk, hunted for some sea glass but to no avail; and had a nice walk through the woods and even got to see some fall turkeys out for a strut.

A nice beautiful beach outside of Portland. You have to pay $6 entrance fee for each adult. Residents are free on Sunday. The beautiful is beautiful but the water is too cold for me even in the mid June. So, I could only enjoy the view.

Late fall visit. Beautiful area. Large parking area. Only downfall Plentiful seaweed attracts bugs.

This is one of the nicest state parks I’ve seen. I went after 5 PM and no one was at the gate taking payment. It was a warm evening but since it was late, it wasn’t crowded at all. Lots of parking and the bathroom was clean. I couldn’t get the showers to work but perhaps they turn them off after a certain time…? The beach is smaller than I thought it would be but I would have loved to have spent the day there.

A great beach for picking up rocks and shells at low tide. Small compared to Old Orchard, but that’s ok. There is a nice changing and restroom facility. I would have given the park five stars if they didn’t close the facility before the park closes. If the park closes at sunset why close the bathrooms well before then?

Very nice beach. Worth $8 a person. If we were nearby resident, would probably go for the annual pass for $100

This beach was a wonderful experience with nice sand, smooth rocks, family friendly, and not crowded. My family especially enjoyed the LL Bean beach box with borrow-able beach supplies! Food available for purchase and nice changing rooms are available as well. The seagulls will try to steal your small stuff. My daughter had a bag of shells she had been collecting and my son ended up chasing down the bird and got it back.

This was a beautiful park. Ample parking, clean restrooms and gorgeous view!! Such a beautiful sight to see, there is an island off of the coast and being able to see the trees on it made for such a beautiful picture. Plenty of coast to walk along. We went all the way to the larger rocks to the right on the beach and climbed up them, if you are able to do so please do it. You will not regret the power of the wind in your face and the stunning views from up there. It can be very slippery in some places so please use your best judgment! Recommend to anyone in the area looking for a place to picnic, walk or just meditate in the ocean air for awhile.
