First time visiting Crieff Hydro after staying at Peebles hydro for many years. We really enjoyed our stay. There was something for everyone in our family aged 11 to 83. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, from Karen the duty manager was especially kind leaving some chocolate and a get well soon message for my aunt who arrived with a broken wrist, to the hydro express driver who helped her on and off the train! Everyone seemed genuinely happy to help us whenever they could. Great choice of food and we really enjoyed the Scottish dancing! Will be back very soon. Thank you to everyone

Stayed in the self-catering houses close to the adventure centre. lots of space and lots of walks for the doggies. The adventure centre is huge with lots of activities for the kids. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The hotel facilities are vast with great dining and drinks venues. What was fantastic was the kids centre/nursery, fantastic facility with a great coffee bar close by. Highly recommend for a stay with all the family including the doggies!

Staff friendly and helpful. ||Location excellent. ||Cleanliness excellent.||The recent changes to the Meikle restaurant and Winter garden have much enhanced the enjoyment of the view of Strathearn and the eating experience. ||There are a lot more activities and facilities for children which I wish had been in place when my children were young. These changes also don’t adversely affect any nature walks through the grounds. ||I would highly recommend a visit.

We just spent 3 nights at Crieff Hydro as a family and were delighted with the experience - grand setting, comfortable and spacious rooms (we'd recommend the family apartment over a family room, for extra privacy and space for not much more money) and a wide range of activities which were available most of the time. The food in East was superb, and the ambience in the Winter Garden (for a drink, or afternoon coffee) was lovely. It's not cheap, but feels priced about right for what it provides. We will be back!

We had a truly exceptional stay. The spa treatments were phenomenal, and the staff's kindness and accommodating nature stood out, with Margaret deserving special thanks for personalizing our experience so thoughtfully. The diverse bars and restaurants were everything we hoped for; we particularly enjoyed the Winter Garden for its delicious lunches and cocktails. Exploring the gorgeous, well-maintained grounds, especially the Victorian garden with its charming ducks and wild rabbits, was a delight. This is an ideal country retreat for both couples and families.

Fantastic afternoon tea at Loggia. Took my mum for a last minute afternoon tea. Great value for money, delicious food. Had to take some of it home with us as there was too much to eat. Love the refurb and the staff couldn’t have been any friendlier and helpful. Will be back soon as I’m telling everyone how fantastic it was!

Ok, so we were a group of 13, celebrating an 80th birthday. Never been to Crieff hydro before. Arrived at reception which was a bit mental with people but to be fair our bags were taken in and we were processed pretty quickly. Came down to the winter gardens, nice space, took a drinks order and I asked for a food menu as we had been travelling and could only check in after 3 and were waiting on family. I was told 'you have missed lunch, the kitchen is closed'......not 'you can get food elsewhere in the hotel' ...just 'you have missed lunch'...so we sat and waited for the rest of our family to arrive. We had a dinner reservation booked for 20:30 but we were now asking around for some snacks/bar snacks to tide us over as some of out party were hungry but alas, nothing. We went down to 'The Hub' after our family arrived to find a bar shut at 5PM directing us back to the place we'd been in since 3PM which still had no food. Some of our party left and drove to into town to get food and left us in the bar. We had a drink and I spoke to a member of staff, Ellie, who was a superstar by the way, explained to her how bizarre it was that we literally could not get a snack since we checked in. She trawled the kitchen and brought 4 of us 8 bread rolls with butter...I mean how embarrassing and how demeaning for us but the girls were so hungry they just went with it .Ellie, again, was brilliant and a credit to the hotel.|So this could have easily been resolved by someone saying to us earlier 'We don't serve food in HERE at this time.. BUT other Bars/restaurants do'. The food we actually had both nights was good and on both nights we hired an hour in 'The Bunker'....amazing space for a group, Karaoke, Golf Simulator, juke box, Pool table and dart board. Someone comes down and shows you the ropes and how to set up...but DON'T take a drinks order? 13 of us ?!! so we had to send folk to the bar up the stairs in the hotel meaning about half an hour of the hour you booked is taken up by walking through the hotel, waiting to get served and then shuttling the drinks down to the bunker yourself ....really poor when it could be really good. Really simple stuff. If you want peaceful? This hotel isn't for you...they do tell you breakfast at times can get busy, and it does. The selection is good but some items were cold (just your luck) but plenty choice and I have to say all the staff are excellent. Rooms? not bad, a bit tired and if you don't like a soft pillow?, you'd best bring one as these are the softest I've slept on ....Could be great...but plenty room for improvement ...all seems a bit disjointed.

Just a two day stay whilst visiting family. I've heard so much about the hotel. I thought I'd give it a try. They have a whole host of activities to try that I did not use, so my review is limited. The hotel is set in wonderful grounds with plenty of parking. Check-in staff we're great and very courteous. The check-in area is modern and looks really nice. The room, however, is a little dated, but ok. It was nice and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. I had asked for a mattress encacement, but this had not been provided. In general, there were question marks over housekeeping. On arrival, there were several dead flies and bugs indicating a lack of cleaning. A great breakfast was provided as part of the deal and the discounted price for the stay, which I assume was because it was early season, made the overall impression good.

Yelp
Great hotel with a staff motivated to ensure you have everything you need. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Food is great and service top notch. There is so much to do here I am disappointed we only get to stay a night. Would love to return.

Yelp
Do you sometimes feel that the city is getting too much and you need some place to relax? Then you are at the right place at Crieff Hydro Hotel (about an hour from Edinburgh) I have been going there for years and I always found that the staff was very friendly. The rooms got renovated over the years and the interior definitely improved. To get a better room it always helps to complain, if not happy with things. For example we booked a room with a bath and we got a shower only. After complaining we got a new room but the heating did not work properly. Well, we could not turn it off, so we slept in a Sauna for a night! The next morning, after complaining again, we moved to a different room, and this time around we got one of the best rooms in the house. The Honeymoon suite with its own Jacuzzi! How romantic, or not! Crieff Hydro always has some special offers on: Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for very good pricing. The food is good enough for the price you pay, if not better. I like and enjoy the indoor and outdoor activities: Golf, Quad bikes, 4x4, swimming pools, Sauna, Riding.....and many more. A Fun place to be at any time of the year. It never gets boring. And my favourite place is the Winter garden where I can enjoy my afternoon tea! Hope you enjoy it too!

Yelp
I have been to Crieff Hydro many times before but for days to the activity centre to hire segways & quad bikes. I have stayed in the cabins for a hen party week but this was my first stay actually in the hotel. We got a great deal with itison for an overnight stay plus use of the Victorian spa and a bottle of wine. Great value. The hotel has had a boutique hotel style make over and I think they have a great mix of taste and opulence. It feels special but warm and friendly at the same time. Free wifi in the room - always good A choice of still or sparkling bottles of water in the room complimentary. Really decent bathrooms and the toiletries were from "The white company" which isn't bad at all. There was a choice of restaurant for dinner, we opted for the brasserie which is less formal and had two courses for £20 a head. Plenty of options and decent food. The Victorian Spa was very relaxing and they provide cordials & tea or coffee and fruit along with magazines and day beds to chill out on. You can drive there in under 90 minutes from Edinburgh and feel like you have really had a break away to re-charge your batteries. Keep up the good work guys!

Yelp
We came here for a Thursday/Friday stay with the kids and it was pretty good all round. Breakfast was good but dinner......I'd agree with a couple of the other reviewers and say it's not as good as it should be. We had a couple of problems with our bill which were sorted quickly and without any fuss which was good. The self catering challets look like a good option and have great views. There's plenty to do outdoors from some easy hill walks to pony treking to bike and quad bike hire and of course indoors there's a decent sized pool and a Spa too.

Yelp
I've paid a few visits to Crieff Hydro over the years but never had the chance to stay the night. They've got so many activities on offer that it would take longer than a weekend to take advantage of them all, but everything we saw was very well done. We had an all-inclusive deal for dinner, bed and breakfast - keep an eye open for special deals around the time you'd like to visit. Food was very well prepared and really tasty - from the Brasserie dinner to the massive breakfast, plenty there for vegetarians and omnivores. I had a lamb tagging with cous cous on the Friday night and was almost defeated by the quantity - really enjoyed it. The bedroom was of a decent size and the bed pretty massive (two singles pushed together, but you wouldn't know it). Check-out is a very civilised 11am, so no rush to clear out. ...and you can carry on enjoying the facilities long after check-out. We spent about four hours in the Victorian Spa, with its pool, steam room, sauna and so on. A very relaxing place to be and a great way to end our stay.

Yelp
Stayed here at the weekend and had a wonderful time with the family. Stayed in the lodges(cosey cottages) however unlike last time it was only 2 minutes from the hotel. We stayed before and it was a good 20 minutes walk last time to the hotel. I will be honest it was not the cleanest accommodation we have stayed in , the location made up for it. The weather was great so did lots of the outdoor activities which kept the kids busy. we did comment that we had not used a lot of the indoor facilities due to the weather being so good. Overall a good hotel for catering for families.
