Crieff Hydro Hotel

Our first room had a lovely view of the air-conditioning plant on the roof. We raised this at reception and were initially offered an upgrade, for a fee, which we declined. After further discussion, we were offered a room on the third floor (the second floor is currently being refurbished) on the understanding that we’d need to walk, as there are no lifts, this is essentially roof space accommodation. The original room was on the small side, so we chose the furthest room, which included a turret. In the end, this worked out well: it’s actually a nice room with a new shower and good views, so no complaints there. We had a look at the main pool, but it didn’t look particularly appealing. Instead, we opted for the Victorian Baths at £30 per person for a two-hour session. While very pleasant, it didn’t feel worth the price. The need for a £1 coin for the lockers felt oddly old-fashioned, digital locks would make far more sense. The baths also run on a strict time-slot system, which makes the experience feel a bit controlled rather than relaxing. On a positive note, the food was good both at breakfast and dinner. Dinner is fairly pricey, but given that most things in the hotel (especially activities) are expensive, this wasn’t a surprise.

A nice country resort with plenty of activities for children and adults. Crieff Hydro has lovely restaurants, garden, play parks, cinema, horse riding, leisure centre, tennis court, walks and many more activities. There's hotel and also self-catering lodges. There are excellent facilities in topnotch condition. If I focus on the room, it lacked a fridge, other than that, the room and bathroom were nice and cosy. The staff were friendly, helpful and approachable. حلال options can be available at some restaurants (East in our case) 👌🏼 It has large grounds and I will definitely consider returning to experience more of the offerings at this resort.

We are on our last night staying at Crieff Hydro, first time coming here and already can’t wait for the next! Our stay has been fabulous, staff are all so kind and friendly. Very kid orientated hotel which was great for our 4 year old, plenty of activities to do, pool and Victorian baths were great. The food in EAST was amazing, breakfast every morning has been lovely too. We added on another night to our stay as we wanted to explore more. Expensive stay while here but worth every penny. Keeping my eye out for the Christmas and new year dates as I think this place will be magical at that time! Highly recommend coming here!

Our stay was extremely disappointing festive break, largely due to poor communication and a failure to meet even basic standards of customer service. A travel cot was requested well in advance (4 months), yet none was provided in our room on arrival. Despite being in the hotel from mid-afternoon and contacting reception to highlight this several times, we were only informed late in the evening that no cots were actually available. There was no prior communication before our arrival to advise us of this would be an issue or earlier on in the day. The situation was only resolved at 18:50 when a member of staff very kindly brought in her own personal travel cot so we didn’t have to leave — something we were grateful for, but which highlights a serious service failure rather than a proper resolution. To make matters worse, after returning late after the panto with a tired family, we were left to make up the cot ourselves despite being told it would be ready. We also paid for tickets to Action Glen, which turned out to be a complete mud bath. Charging customers to attend an activity only to find themselves plodding around a park in deep mud with very little enjoyment is unacceptable and incredibly poor value. There was no attempt to resolve issues while we were actually staying at the hotel, no acknowledgment of the stress caused of the unknown if my son would have a bed. The follow-up response afterwards from the duty manager was equally disappointing, offering “extras” on a future stay rather than addressing what went wrong during this visit. Throughout, we felt treated like a number rather than valued customers. The panto itself was enjoyable, but it was the only positive in an otherwise extremely disappointing stay. Overall, the level of customer service was appalling and the hotel needs to work extremely hard to improve how it treats its guests. We will not be returning and would not recommend this hotel, particularly for families

Upon arrival we found the receptionist completely indifferent and dismissive, unfortunately most of our dealings were with this man, he referred us to the duty manager, who referred us to another manager, this time we were third time lucky as this young lady was very helpful and facilitated our family’s check in . Later that evening the heating in our, and our oldest daughter’s room had failed, as our daughters 2 small children were with her she was given another room, we were given a small electric heater, which worked intermittently. The following day I had raised this with, sadly, the same receptionist as the day before,he assured me that the issue would be dealt with, later that day, the issue still outstanding the same guy told me housekeeping closed at 15:30, so my wife and I had another cold night ahead of us without heat. The room itself was small, the bathroom adequate but the shower mouldy with an extractor fan that sounded like a jet turbine, (avoid room 121), the restaurant staff were excellent as was the food, although vastly overpriced,the stable staff were also excellent. Overall I would not recommend Crieff hydro, a poor experience made worse inept staff and sub standard accommodation.

It was the first time, we came to Crieff Hydro and we really enjoyed our time there. We have a walk around the hotel and discovered that they had a roman bath and swimming pool, beautiful bedrooms and self catering accommodation, different restaurants and a refurbished bar and the hibachi where people can work or enjoy a coffee after fitness. We have had lunch in the winter garden with our guests and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the lovely Australian waitress (sorry, I forgot her name). We will be back. Thank you very much.

We had a lovely room looking out over the Scottish countryside. Staff were all extremely helpful, catering to our every wish. The public areas of the hotel have been beautifully refurbished and the unusual East restaurant now offers a wide array of Asian food, contrasting with the more traditional Terrace restaurant. All in all a great experience in the wonderful Scottish landscape.

Just back from Crieff Hydro and wanted to write down my fedback as it was truly exceptional. ||The refurb to the bar and eating areas, together with the way you are communicated with and treated from before to after your trip is brilliant. ||||Hats off to the team - theyve turned a 3 star experience into one that rivals some 5 star hotels.

Great hotel with a staff motivated to ensure you have everything you need. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Food is great and service top notch. There is so much to do here I am disappointed we only get to stay a night. Would love to return.

Do you sometimes feel that the city is getting too much and you need some place to relax? Then you are at the right place at Crieff Hydro Hotel (about an hour from Edinburgh) I have been going there for years and I always found that the staff was very friendly. The rooms got renovated over the years and the interior definitely improved. To get a better room it always helps to complain, if not happy with things. For example we booked a room with a bath and we got a shower only. After complaining we got a new room but the heating did not work properly. Well, we could not turn it off, so we slept in a Sauna for a night! The next morning, after complaining again, we moved to a different room, and this time around we got one of the best rooms in the house. The Honeymoon suite with its own Jacuzzi! How romantic, or not! Crieff Hydro always has some special offers on: Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for very good pricing. The food is good enough for the price you pay, if not better. I like and enjoy the indoor and outdoor activities: Golf, Quad bikes, 4x4, swimming pools, Sauna, Riding.....and many more. A Fun place to be at any time of the year. It never gets boring. And my favourite place is the Winter garden where I can enjoy my afternoon tea! Hope you enjoy it too!

I have been to Crieff Hydro many times before but for days to the activity centre to hire segways & quad bikes. I have stayed in the cabins for a hen party week but this was my first stay actually in the hotel. We got a great deal with itison for an overnight stay plus use of the Victorian spa and a bottle of wine. Great value. The hotel has had a boutique hotel style make over and I think they have a great mix of taste and opulence. It feels special but warm and friendly at the same time. Free wifi in the room - always good A choice of still or sparkling bottles of water in the room complimentary. Really decent bathrooms and the toiletries were from "The white company" which isn't bad at all. There was a choice of restaurant for dinner, we opted for the brasserie which is less formal and had two courses for £20 a head. Plenty of options and decent food. The Victorian Spa was very relaxing and they provide cordials & tea or coffee and fruit along with magazines and day beds to chill out on. You can drive there in under 90 minutes from Edinburgh and feel like you have really had a break away to re-charge your batteries. Keep up the good work guys!

We came here for a Thursday/Friday stay with the kids and it was pretty good all round. Breakfast was good but dinner......I'd agree with a couple of the other reviewers and say it's not as good as it should be. We had a couple of problems with our bill which were sorted quickly and without any fuss which was good. The self catering challets look like a good option and have great views. There's plenty to do outdoors from some easy hill walks to pony treking to bike and quad bike hire and of course indoors there's a decent sized pool and a Spa too.

I've paid a few visits to Crieff Hydro over the years but never had the chance to stay the night. They've got so many activities on offer that it would take longer than a weekend to take advantage of them all, but everything we saw was very well done. We had an all-inclusive deal for dinner, bed and breakfast - keep an eye open for special deals around the time you'd like to visit. Food was very well prepared and really tasty - from the Brasserie dinner to the massive breakfast, plenty there for vegetarians and omnivores. I had a lamb tagging with cous cous on the Friday night and was almost defeated by the quantity - really enjoyed it. The bedroom was of a decent size and the bed pretty massive (two singles pushed together, but you wouldn't know it). Check-out is a very civilised 11am, so no rush to clear out. ...and you can carry on enjoying the facilities long after check-out. We spent about four hours in the Victorian Spa, with its pool, steam room, sauna and so on. A very relaxing place to be and a great way to end our stay.

Stayed here at the weekend and had a wonderful time with the family. Stayed in the lodges(cosey cottages) however unlike last time it was only 2 minutes from the hotel. We stayed before and it was a good 20 minutes walk last time to the hotel. I will be honest it was not the cleanest accommodation we have stayed in , the location made up for it. The weather was great so did lots of the outdoor activities which kept the kids busy. we did comment that we had not used a lot of the indoor facilities due to the weather being so good. Overall a good hotel for catering for families.
