We stayed for four nights at the end of September, and will definitely re-visit when time allows. We had a very special reason for visiting, we chose Crinan Hotel as we wanted to elope and marry there, just the 2 of us. We contacted Frances the owner and Jamie the assistant manager, and they made it happen. One of the wonderful hotel staff Niamh agreed to be one of our witnesses. Nothing was too much trouble for all of the staff team and we were made to feel very special, from them setting up the room where we chose to have the ceremony, to the beautiful bouquet, buttonhole and table flowers Frances made and gifted to us. We had the Morrocco room, which has four large windows, looking straight out onto the Loch and across to Duntrune Castle, an ever-changing view which was fantastic to wake up to. Frances and staff were wonderful, and the food is amazing - languostines fresh from the loch, and everything else being the best quality, locally sourced, beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast is exceptional too. We even ordered some of the same pillows we slept on at Crinan as they were so comfortable! If you want exceptional views, amazing staff team, fabulous food in an old country house hotel, and with a great locality to explore, look no further.

We recently spent a lovely few days at The Crinan Hotel. We paid a wee bit extra for a balcony room which is well worth it if the weather behaves. The views from up high are fabulous. Good choices of food for dinner. Breakfast was excellent. Nice walks along the canal tow path or just hang around the locks and watch the World go by. The access roads in and out are a wee bit tight but the journey is worth it.

Accessible to a point. No designated accessible parking. 1 step up to reception. There is a small lift . The ladies public loo is on the first floor at the top of the stairs. The double rooms have baths and no shower and will not be useable by many with mobility issues. However, room 7 is a single room with a walk in shower and they put us in a room down the hall and gave us the keys to both rooms. Amazing and really grateful for that. The seafood in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were great. Overall we loved it for one night.

Hotel is in a beautiful, unspoilt location offering stunning views over the loch. This hotel is full of character! Staff were extremely helpful. Dinner was delicious, as was the breakfast. The outdoor area of the bar was a great place to relax and take in the beauty of this very special place.

Sorry to say that this hotel survives because there is no competition - The only other hotel option in the are air currently is closed for refurbishment. Our room was very small and badly organised, the taps didn't work properly and the mattress was old and saggy. |Breakfast was OK, with options and the restaurant in the evening good. The waiters and waitresses who seemed to always be on duty (wondered how much time they were allowed off) were always friendly and helpful.|The reception areas all need re decorating, and the staircase up to the bedrooms was threadbare in places.

The location is quite stunning and the views spectacular. Sadly, the rooms were a bit small and tired-looking for the price. We ate in the hotel restaurant which, in contrast to the rooms, offered high quality and good value for money..

What an extraordinary experience! Great welcome, enormous room looking out over the sea,big bathroom with bath (hurrah!). We met some brilliant people in the very cosy bar restaurant and ate superb fish.. The oysters , langoustines and halibut were perfect plus the very best crème brûlée !!! The staff were all young and enthusiastic and we loved every minute,

We absolutely loved our stay at The Crinan Hotel. The staff were top class, seeing how much the owner cares about being there just adds the extra finesse. The hotel has so much character which should be appreciated rather than seeking modern hotel upgrade as it’s what sets it apart.||The views from rooms including bathroom was stunning. Little bar with outside terrace and walk to the secret garden was perfect. Lovely walk along the canal and you can also complete a one hour trail walk through the “rainforest” which is worth doing. Seafood for dinner was fabulous as was the breakfast choice and quality. ||We can’t wait to return!

Yelp
To be frank, this is one of my favorite places on earth. Nick and his family are great hosts, and the food and atmosphere are wonderful. I haven't been there now in some time, but deeply miss the place and fantastic views of the Lock and the surrounding Argyll countryside. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
One of the most charming places to ever stay. A lovely family owns this hotel and they've created an extremely cozy environment, not to mention there are beautiful views from every angle of this hotel. One of the owners, Frances, is also a beautiful artist and creates gorgeous paintings, you will NEED to check them out when visiting. She also has a beautiful path behind the hotel that will lead you up to her garden that she maintains herself. It's so fun that this hotel has a bar downstairs and a restaurant at the other end, I even believe there is an ice cream shop a few steps away outside. Everything you need is here for a relaxing getaway. We cannot wait to go back someday.
