The location is quite stunning and the views spectacular. Sadly, the rooms were a bit small and tired-looking for the price. We ate in the hotel restaurant which, in contrast to the rooms, offered high quality and good value for money..

We stayed 3 days at The Crinan Hotel and were blessed by great weather which further enhanced its stunning location. Our room was on the second floor, situated in the middle of the hotel, with fabulous views over Loch Crinan and west to the islands. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom shared the same amazing view: having a bath with this view was truly memorable. The building is gorgeous with large, comfortably furnished rooms overlooking the loch and islands. The bar was well stocked with local draught beer and a great wine list. We ate in the restaurant 3 evenings and never tired of the extensive choice of fish and seafood available. Highlights were the langoustines, mussels, scallops and bouillabaisse, all of which were outstanding. The highpoint of our stay was the service we received from all the lovely staff: from the manager to the bar staff to the incredible team in the restaurant: we could not have been better looked after. A big thank you also to Ross who took us out on The Scarbgh for a 2 hour trip around the loch including a sighting of an osprey. We had a memorable visit to this very special hotel.

Everything is perfect about this hotel. A marvellous location, comfortable rooms, excellent meals, and the kind of staff who make guests feel welcome as soon as they walk through the doors. Rooms are quite shabby, in the nicest possible way. The public rooms are a delight: to sit and enjoy, perhaps, a little whisky or a glass of wine before lunch or dinner is a great pleasure. The Seafood Bar is extremely comfortable, and the seafood incomparable. And the Dining Room - to sit watching the light fade while enjoying a beautiful supper of the freshest seafood - is, quite simply, delightful. Very highly recommended.

The hotel is a bit jaded but it is so full of character and very clean. The girls that work in all the food and drink areas are brilliant- cheerful, helpful and hard working.|However, we could have done with clarity about where we could eat and drink. The Restaurant at the front was packed and I later discovered had a really good vegetarian options ( wish I had known) but to all intents and purposes appeared to be a private function when we went to get drinks at the bar and were redirected. Where could we get drinks then? There is a door without a sign which we discovered to be a lovely little pub room, which we ‘found’. As for food we were in the dining room which is less appealing. I can only assume that all paying guests are sent to the dining room so that passers by will use the restaurant. A bit of info would have been great. |Rant over. Despite my the above comments I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel. It is fun, a bit chaotic but very appealing, comfortable and memorable. A bit of a unique find. the location is fabulous with amazing views.

Had a lovely warm and welcoming visit to crinan hotel mid week. Met up with my friend for drinks and catch up. Such beautiful views looking out over Crinan bay. I love visiting the hotel as it feels very homely with family pictures and the art work on display. Great service given from Georgia.

Perfect stay for any traveller. I travelled solo and had a great experience. Cosy and clean accommodation and flavoursome food available. If a guest at the hotel, breakfast is hearty! If you are coming for lunch or dinner, there's lots of choice. I would say that it is a seafood lovers dream as fresh means flavoursome and I had some excellent seafood at dinner. Exceptional staff who are very attentive, informative and made my trip a complete success. Beautiful areas to walk and the canal path is worth all 9.5 miles!

This is the kind of hotel that you think doesn’t really exist anymore. It’s full of charm with wonderful rooms overlooking the bay. The owners fishing boat moored just offshore creates the perfect picture. The only negative is the 1950s bathroom with no proper shower arrangement, just a small rather feeble shower head on a hose. The hotel has two lounges - both furnished beautifully - and a restaurant. However, evening meals were served in the bar - very cosy. The owner and her son are always there and always keen to chat: both are renowned artists and the hotel has numerous paintings, illustrating their talent. The family and their wonderful staff make you feel like guests in their home - and I think that is exactly the planned sentiment. Some staff seem to create further ‘glue’, notably the everpresent young lady in the restaurant and the equally everpresent young man at reception: both a credit to the hotel. Relentlessly enthusiastic and friendly. This really is what hospitality is all about.

Yelp
To be frank, this is one of my favorite places on earth. Nick and his family are great hosts, and the food and atmosphere are wonderful. I haven't been there now in some time, but deeply miss the place and fantastic views of the Lock and the surrounding Argyll countryside. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
One of the most charming places to ever stay. A lovely family owns this hotel and they've created an extremely cozy environment, not to mention there are beautiful views from every angle of this hotel. One of the owners, Frances, is also a beautiful artist and creates gorgeous paintings, you will NEED to check them out when visiting. She also has a beautiful path behind the hotel that will lead you up to her garden that she maintains herself. It's so fun that this hotel has a bar downstairs and a restaurant at the other end, I even believe there is an ice cream shop a few steps away outside. Everything you need is here for a relaxing getaway. We cannot wait to go back someday.
