So wonderful! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our car died while we were camping there and they did everything in their power to make sure we got up and going again. Everything was clean and well stocked. The pizza was wonderful and having it delivered right to our campsite was a nice little surprise. Views were beautiful and my kids loved the play areas. Will absolutely visit again.

We found the Cripple Creek KOA by accident 5 years ago and it has now become our favorite campground in our home state of Colorado. This is our 5th fall coming up for a week for my birthday and we will definitely be back here next year for our 6th. The owner is incredibly nice and is always outside everyday working on the park. He takes pride in the campground, and it really shows. The KOA is a smaller size than many of the large resort parks and just feels quiet, peaceful and inviting. The facilities are always clean, and it is very apparent that all of the staff enjoy working here. We camp with our red heeler named Sherlock and this campground has a large dog park that is always excellently maintained and stocked with bags. There is so much to do in the area that after 5 years we still have places we have not been able to explore yet.|My husband and I love hiking, and I highly recommend the Vindicator Valley Trail and the Independence Mill Site and Battle Mountain trails. Both are easy hikes, just a few miles away and take you through the interesting mining history of the region. I also recommend the Gold Camp Bakery & Deli in Victor, just south of the campground they have great sandwiches and chicken pot pies at a reasonable price. |Thank you to the owners of the KOA for making our fall camping trip always a success and a wonderful break from the stress of daily life.

Google
Absolutely stunning views. Well maintained. Great staff, very professional and pleasant. The RV sites are well maintained, but were a bit short for our 45ft with 8ft patio down. We had to back into the site behind us to leave as there wasn't enough room to pull forward due to the Class A in the space in front of us. This is not a criticism, just something to be aware of. We enjoyed the park very much!

Google
“Highest KOA” sure felt like it! Freaking tree line! It was an amazing experience family is for sure coming back. Thee most well maintained campground I may have ever seen! You can tell that EVERYONE enjoys there job and loves and cares for those grounds! Cripple creek has a ton of history , museums and casinos only a beautiful 10-13 minute drive away. The breakfast pizza was AMAZING especially with home made ranch! I really appreciate the owners who genuinly care about the customer more than the dollar and love that campground and look forward to returning!

Google
At 10,000 ft, you'd better layer up in the fall. We rode motorcycles from Denver to close down the KOA on their last weekend. The tiny cabins are nothing fancy, but they will keep you warm during the night with a provided heater. Lissa got us checked in and gave us some good recommendations for dining in nearby Cripple Creek. I will return and camp here again

Google
We had a great stay at the Cripple Creek KOA! The campground was very clean, well-maintained, and peaceful. The employees were amazing—super friendly, helpful, and always ready to go the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. You can tell they take pride in keeping the place welcoming. Whether you’re in an RV, tent, or staying in a cabin, this KOA is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Absolutely fantastic, both in location and cleanliness. About 15 min from cripple creek and mueller state park. 45 min from Colorado Springs. High altitude so prepare for cold in the fall. Good laundry facilities, spotless showers and bathrooms and great camping kitchen.

Google
This is a great place to stay. We stayed in the RV campsites, though I have seen one of their larger cabins before and that was nice too. Since our last stay here, they have added pizza delivery to your campsite in the evening. Several campers took advantage of this nice service. There are many things to do here including hiking, pedal "go karts", volleyball, playground, cornhole, movie rentals, and more. With a beautiful setting, a large dog park, and all their other amenities, it's hard to want to leave the grounds.

Yelp
This was a lovely KOA to stay at on our way around Colorado. Beautiful views. Very friendly staff. Kids loved playing on train, playground, & gaga ball pit. Great place to go explore area from with nearby Cripple Creek, Victor gold mines, & Pikes Peak not too far away. Nice location tucked away from noise. Laundry & shower facilities were great and very clean. Great place to stay! Highly recommend if you are going to the area. It was our favorite of several places we stayed when visiting Colorado.

Yelp
This is a beautiful campground, nestled in the mountains, very clean and well groomed! The views are amazing and we were lucky enough to see the aspens turning. All pull through and plenty of parking if you are towing. The staff are so welcoming and helpful! This is a spot I'd definitely put on my list to visit again!

Yelp
Connie was fantastic. She shared a ton of insight, advice and information. She also offered maps and restaurant recommendations. It is a beautiful facility, very clean and lots of accommodation options.

Yelp
This KOA does not seem to follow local fire restrictions set forth by Teller county. Their employees cannot explain the difference between a stage 1 and stage 2 fire ban. This is DANGEROUS, do not recommend!!!

Yelp
We LOVE this spot! We glamp here at least once a season. The spots a pretty nice and the park is clean. It's got two playgrounds for the kids. This last time we did the hike starting from the back of the park up to the top of the cross peak. It was amazing! A great hike and then views we spectacular! We were there during early fall with the leaves changing. Absolutely brilliant! We stayed here during COVID so one thing to note is that Cripple Creek is highly limited on dining options. The casinos were open while we were there but they wouldn't let our 7 year old daughter into the restaurants since she would have to go through the casino. So that was a bit of a bummer. We managed to find takeout options, as well as, food options back at the glamper.

Yelp
We loved it here. Beautiful views, really nice hosts. Special thanks to Big John and Paul, another guest, for helping us with some mechanical trouble while loading our motorcycle. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We just spent the weekend in one of the deluxe cabins here and it was fantastic. Sparkling clean, fully furnished and set up for a wonderful time. The facility has everything you'll need and the views are beautiful. There is some good hiking behind as well. Fires were banned due to restrictions by the county but rental propane fire pits were available. The family that owns this are dedicated to making sure everyone enjoys themselves and definitely did everything in their power to insure things were clean and safe and sanitary. Go enjoy 10,000' here!

Yelp
This was out last stay on our grand summer adventure with our 10-year old granddaughter before she went hoe to prepare for the new school year. We visited on private RV site on Long Island and a string of four KOA site before arriving at Cripple Creek. It is, by far, the best campground we've ever had the pleasure to visit... the owners are now Deric and Terri... both wonderful people who are trying their best to maintain and grow the superb reputation of "highest KOA in the world" ... (wink) IF our stay is any indication, they are on their way to surpassing all the wonderful comments and reviews associated with the previous owners. The atmosphere is superb... the sunsets are spectacular and very memorable... the activities for kids are never-ending... I mentioned to them both that I will not forever compare all other campgrounds to Cripple Creek... anyone who does well gets a comment like "that's just like they do it at Crippler Creek KOA..." and those who fall short are liable to hear "they don't do it that way at Cripple Creek KOA..." By all means, don't take my word for it, go visit the place for yourself and bring back your own review... (grin) Until that time...

Yelp
This facility has a great set up with a fire ring, some grassy area, and picnic table at each lot. The playgrounds are good and the train is fun for kiddos! The dog park is awesome for pups to run and play and the general store has all the necessities of you forget anything! Close to cripple creek with sprawling mountain views, we will definitely be back. Our kiddo had some altitude issues and we had to leave early and even though they didn't have to, they refunded us a day! Such nice people and fun times!

Yelp
We have been going to this KOA for 30 years through several owners and love this campground. We've been coming that long every Memorial and Labor Day weekend. In all honesty there has been an occasional bump in the road with every owner but work through them. This weekend something exceptional happened, out pretty youngest daughter drove up on Sunday to spend the day with us and when she got ready to lease at about 7 she discovered she was low on coolant. It was pretty late on a Sunday and we weren't sure if we could find any in town if they were open. My wife went to the KOA store to ask if they might have some for sale they did not have any, but Deric the owner said let me check and see if I have some personally. He checked and about ten minutes later he brought it to our site and a potential bad situation was avoided. This is just one example, we love this campground and love our hosts! We'll continue to go back at least twice a year as long as we can continue to camp!

Yelp
We stayed here as a family mini-vacation over the 4th of July weekend. Here are the pros and cons: pros: friendly staff, clean facilities, good location for visiting Cripple Creek area cons: site was listed as "preferred site with view" - the only thing we could see without walking away from our camper was the RV next to us; also listed as free wifi - the wifi only worked in the main store/check-in building - our site was unable to get any signal whatsoever (site 121); we felt like we were packed in like sardines in this campground - not what we prefer in a camping experience; sites were very unlevel Why stay here? If you are looking for a place close to area attractions and not planning on hanging out at the campground much, this place will work; if you want a relaxing place to hang out at the campfire and not be on top of your neighbors, you may want to go somewhere else.

Yelp
Beautiful views (you're somewhere between 9-10K feet). Wifi works pretty well near the office (it's not fast, but let me text significant other as well as check email). Camp sites are pretty neat and the ones we had consisted of a tent sand pad as well as a little wooden roof structure which would be great for prepping meals and plugging stuff in for electric. Downsides: It takes forever to get to. This was also our most expensive KOA on our trip (we stayed at 6 KOA campgrounds) at around $50 a night, so a little pricey to me. Lock on the bathroom after hours (just strange to me).

Yelp
We were so disappointed with our 2 night stay at the Cripple Creek KOA. We (2 couples - one I n an RV and one with a tent) arrived around 3:15 pm on Friday, August 7. We set up the RV and our tent so that each couple had their own space. About 5 hours later, after the sun had set, as we were winding down the night, Terri (the owner) came by and told us that we were not allowed to tent camp on same site as the RV. We were shocked. Why she and her staff waited 5 hours to tell us after it was already dark that we could not tent camp was unbelievable to us. Further, Terri showed us no empathy, no flexibility, and no customer service. She simply kept saying that this was our fault. We asked her to help us find a solution. She was unwilling. She did not offer to allow us to stay in another part of the KOA campground where it was grassy or help us find another location where we could camp for the next night. There was a complete lack of flexibility or desire to help. Terri never expressed regret or apologized that this happened. She simply kept repeating that this was our fault. At 8:45-9 p.m., we were forced to take down our tent. We were not alone in this assessment of this facility and Terri. This was confirmed the next day when our neighbors parked their 5th Wheel and expressed frustration about Terri and her inflexibility on where they parked their truck. After returning home, we reviewed all the emails we received concerning our KOA reservation. No where does it say that we may not have a tent set up on our RV site. Only after going on the KOA Cripple Creek website and searching extensively under the Policies, Terms and Conditions did it say anything about this restriction. As for the KOA campground, the spots were very close together. It was like a parking lot with very little separation between the RVs and not a lot of green area to enjoy nature. We have RV and tent camped all across the United States (in fact, we spent one year going around the country in our trailer), and given our experience, we will not return to the KOA in Cripple Creek.

Yelp
We stayed in a camping cabin and it was perfect. The cabin was immaculate, and the grounds pristine. We heard horses from the nearby stable and coyotes howling at night from the mountains. It was very serene. Bathrooms were clean and there was free coffee in the morning.

Yelp
We stayed here for a week this June. Not exactly what we expected. Sites are not quite level front to back or side to side. You pay more for higher sites for a view REALLY? A view of the camper next to you is more like it. Distance between the sites is close. Only real level sites are at the top level with a gravel spot for your picnic table otherwise sites are uneven at best. Don't waste your money on higher sites the view is pretty much the same everywhere. Sites are tight to get into and out of. Hope that the site across from you is empty it will make it easier to get into and out of your site. If you have a camper with a slide on the drivers side good luck. The power pedestal in located in the middle of the site so you either have to pull forward or backup to the edge so that your slide can come out all the way if not you have to move over to the edge of the drive which isn't level making exit from your camper alittle difficult. Bring lots of boards for under your jacks and you should be ok. An extra step would be highly suggested. The KOA website doesn't mention that there is a fire ban so no campfires. Make it hard to cook your food without going down to the main house to cook on their gas grill. Store is limited. No shade all open sites great views of the camper next to you. Would much rather stay up the road at the state park. Much nicer very clean and great views.

Yelp
We live in the Denver area and took a long weekend to celebrate a birthday in Cripple Creek. We travel a lot with our 5th wheel and haven't found a better campground than this one. The place is immaculate, well groomed and very helpful staff. All the extra touches, game room, lace curtains in the ladies room, welcoming back porch with adorable decor and level, well groomed sites.

Kenny C.

Yelp
I stayed here for a few days in June, and it was AMAZING! The staff was very nice and accommodating to me being in a wheelchair. The moved our site to the closest one to the bathhouse so that I didn't have to navigate the hills. They have a free air hockey table. They do pancake breakfast for $3 a person on the weekends. Now lets talk about the view. It's gorgeous. You're on the side of a mountain called Cow Mountain. The sun sets are spectacular and the rolling plains are magnificent.

Yelp
Never had a better experience with lodging in my life! My family stayed at the Cripple Creek CO KOA and felt at home 900 miles from home! We stayed in the one room cabin with no bathroom in the cabin, a double and two bunk beds (it's was just a place to sleep). Turned out to be much more because of the experience! If you have ever stayed in a KOA cabin you know they are a nice little cozy place to sleep but are mostly on busy highways or some in less than ideal setting NOT THIS ONE! The setting was AMAZING! It is off the beaten path, up in the mountains (between 9 and 10 thousand ft) surrounded by peaceful beauty! The restrooms and the showers were honestly cleaner than any I have ever seen at any 5 star hotel (hell they were cleaner than mine). The kids had plenty to do with the game room, volleyball, basketball and peddle cars but what made the experience were the owners Tom and Pattie! These two busted their tails to make our stay enjoyable! Both took the time to answer any questions, fix any issues and just shoot the breeze! Tom and Pattie, My family will never forget your hospitality your kindness and your ability to put up with some overly talkative Texans! We will be back and we will tell everyone we know about your amazing facility and our experience! THANK YOU!!

Laurie E.

Yelp
What a great campground. We arrived hot, tired and dirty and Terri was very gracious and delayed cleaning the rest rooms to let us clean up first. Then they had smores night and a pancake breakfast. Derrick and Terri are very friendly and welcoming. The campground is clean and well maintained. It's close to Cripple Creek without staying right in town.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful view...if you are looking for a nice, clean, friendly park in the mtns. This is it. The owners Tom and Patty make you feel at home, and are they for you if you need them. We had a few RV issues and they helped us in more ways then they'll ever know... Love this campground and will be back...
