This was our first time here. The staff was really friendly, and the place had a nice vibe, not modern, but cozy. They have a couple of vegan options, which is nice. The food was good, but it took 40 minutes to come out, which felt like a long wait The bakery has a nice selection. I got a drip coffee. It was warm, not hot. I wish it was hot. Overall, a good spot for breakfast!

Google
Amazing takeout breakfast! Full of fresh ingredients, all made from scratch. It's hard to find food that's such high quality. Huge breakfast menu, and awesome donuts, fresh bread, and other baked goods available too.

When I think of cute little college town restaurants/Shops, I’m imagining a place like Cristados. It’s adorable and I can’t wait to return. They have food, they have things cool little trinkets and what not. The staff has also been friendly. They’re a record store connected to it now - which is dope. I like it.

Google
The small, eclectic dining area featured interesting art and glassware for sale. The staff was extremely accommodating and the food was delicious. The pastries were exceptional, with one of our children declaring them the best blueberry muffins she has ever had. The seating was unusually welcoming to families considering the small size of the dining area. We will absolutely be back.

Google
It's a nice place where you can do many things. You can have a take out cup of coffee, or tea, or whatever drinkable. You can stay inside and drink some cocktails. You can order delicious, exquisite food made from ingredients sourced locally (and there's plenty of vegan and vegetarian options), and enjoy it in a nicely decorated dining room. You can buy sweets and pastries to go. You can order cakes for your event. You can finally buy hand crafted items from local artists. A lot, right? Need to come back and explore more!

Google
Super nice and relaxing place to grab a good bite to eat and read, study, or meet at friend. Love the aesthetic!

Google
I highly recommend! Sorry, I don't have any photos. I had a turkey and cheddar breakfast sandwich on a house-made croissant and I destroyed it in about 3 minutes flat. It was extremely delicious! Next time, I'll try something else, and try to take a photo.

Google
Love the food and the service- the only downside to the atmosphere is when musicians come and don't use an appropriate volume for the space, but that's only occasional. I love the vegan options and the lavender jasmine tea- great spot for those of us with specific dietary needs, and a beautifully inclusive space!

Yelp
Day before eclipse day, usually closed on a Sunday. Glad I was able to visit before I left town.

Yelp
Such a wonderful vibe. The music, the food, and don't forget the cookies. Try the date walnut cookie and thank me later. For good measure buy a pink cookie, chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie, and a magic bar. I came back after 20 years, the location is different but the bakery and most importantly the bakers / owners are back in ownership and things have never been better. You need to experience a place that is part of Carbondale history.

Yelp
Had an excellent Ham & Cheddar Croissant and stole some of my Dad's breakfast burrito which was perfectly toasted and extremely tasty! Plus, we happened to be there when a group of locals were playing music so it had some wonderful atmosphere going for it too. Will definitely be back again this week while I'm visiting

Yelp
Purchased donuts for a business meeting at the university. Cristaudo's provides good variety though donuts are standard selections. Our business guests were delighted with our decision.

Yelp
Wow! I found this place the other day and thought I would stop in and give it a try. I got a mudslide brownie and a blueberry boo boo bar. I had never had either one before. OMG! They were amazing! I knew that I wanted to go back and try their breakfast and lunch at some point. So this morning I stopped in and got an Eclair coffee (Vanilla & Chocolate ), a piece of spinach & swiss quiche, then a apple cinnamon QTPie for later. I love coffee and this delicious coffee dos not disappoint, it was so good! I love a quiche and theirs was warmed up and tasted delicious. Well then a little while later I had to try my apple cinnamon QTPie and it was scrumptious! I really can't wait to go their for my lunch break and try their chicken salad on a croissant! Hopefully one day soon. But this spot has definitely just bumped its way up to one of my local favorites! Not only because the food and coffee is great, but the service is great and employees are so nice! This is a great place to stop and get something on the go or to go in and have lunch.

Yelp
Local, local, local! Did I mention they are super Carbondale and everything Carbondale is! Food, shopping, art, sweets the list goes on!! Great building and set up and are a rock. I know this because of their reputation but now I know it for myself!!

Yelp
Place has an Italian name but very few Italian baked goods. The person who waited on me didn't know what a cannoli was. Cannoli's in non Italian cafes are always over priced. Why? Because you don't want to piss off an Italian if you're Italian.

Yelp
Hip, trendy, progressive..and delicious. Cristaudos is what corporate chains like Panera and Starbucks pretend to be. Cristaudos supports the community and is an asset to Carbondale. I think they also have the best baked goods in town.
google avatar

Yelp
My negative experiencewith their customer service reached a new high today. At the bakery countet, one of the two staff members not only picked a phone call while I was standing there waiting but after hanging up began filling the order. The other staff member who was filling an order did not even turn around to my excuse me. I walked out. They owe me a quarter for parking.

Yelp
I have been here twice and I must say the second time around was great. They value their customers and business. Very lovely people!

Yelp
Love this little hidden gem. Surprised there aren't more people flocking to this place in Carbondale

Yelp
My friends and I came here for a laid back afternoon of studying. We all had the breakfast and were not disappointed. It's a very chill and unique environment with friendly people and great food and coffee!

Lauren C.

Yelp
Love the environment here, especially when they have live music. The bakery has delicious treats. The brunch is great and the bar menu is a bonus!

Yelp
This place is always great for baked goods and lunch, but they really won my heart with our wedding cake. Friendly people and beautiful delicious products! Plus the gift shop is awesome and full of locally made treats.
google avatar

Yelp
They have a chocolate chip gluten free cookie option which is really good, but I wish they had more gluten free options! My nieces love there fun shaped cookies though (Dinos, flowers, Illinois etc)

Yelp
We ordered the four layer carrot cake with sour cream icing for my mother's 80th birthday. It was the best carrot cake we ever had! Everyone at the party said it was very delicious and beautifully decorated. The delicate flowers and lovely writing was done so artistically. My mom said, "It was an art work! It was the best cake that I ever had in this country!"

Bethany H.

Yelp
This is now the place to go! Lily is barista (amazing lady with a deep understanding of beverages) and they treat their staff well. Quirky clientele (catch the quiet little banjo group on weekday mornings! I love them!) and creative dishes (artichoke poutine!) ADVICE: y'all need to work on the biscuits and gravy. Seriously, it's the thing on your menu that could most stand improvement.

Yelp
First time visitor (yesterday)! Loved the eclectic atmosphere and the options for breakfast. Chose the farmers plate which was on special for only 13.95! It was a ton of food for such a low price, steak covered in hollandaise sauce with scrambled eggs and a side of potatoes. They also have a bakery there and the treats are very affordable and delicious. I loved the Russian tea cookies. The only reason why I give it 4 out of 5 instead of 5, is because of the long, long wait for food (although very worth it!)

Yelp
The coffee and food were good but the customer service...rude. I went back two days in a row because I liked the coffee but I hated how awkward and belittled one of the baristas made me feel because I didn't immediately know what I wanted.

John T.

Yelp
I like Cristaudo's food but I would go there more often if they'd get more sophisticated about their music management. I've explained what follows to employees but all I got was blank stares. Maybe it's just too complicated for millennials. There's a radio near the cash register on one station and another one in the kitchen on a different station. Near the radio you hear mostly that radio. So the guys in the kitchen aren't much bothered by the register radio and vice-versa. All the employees are fairly content. Customers, unfortunately, sit out in the big room, roughly the same distance from both radios. What we hear is both at once. Unless you're deaf or have your own ear buds going or grew up in constant noise, it's annoying as hell.

Yelp
I just drove from Denver, CO to Asheville, NC and took a little detour through Carbondale. I'm a bakery fiend and, without a doubt, Cristaudo's was the best one I visited. I walked out with a carrot cake bar, an almond croissant, a doughnut, and an Honest Tea drink for under $10. That just isn't fair. Oh and I purchased some zucchini bread, too. Even less fair. A luxurious inside with great decor and silly gift shop gifts... This place is worth a stop. Wish all bakeries were this awesome.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
Went in for some sweets. Purchased a peanut butter bar and a giant cream puff. Both were amazing and so delicious. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant. Overall, it's a really cute place with tasty bakery goods.
google avatar

Katelyn M.

Yelp
The BEST bakery around! They do an amazing job with whatever you ask for, it's affordable, and not to mention delicious. I've ordered multiple birthday cakes there with only about a week's notice and they've been able to accommodate my request. Their butterfluff frosting is great - not cloyingly sweet like some other bakeries frostings... Not to mention, they do a wonderful job decorating their cakes.
google avatar

Meg N.

Yelp
They catered my wedding this moth with a vegan carrot cake (the husband is allergic to eggs) and an assortment of cupcakes and both we're fantastic, granted I was so busy I only got to taste the cake during the face smashing and half of a cupcake later in the night while talking to an old friend but both we're fantastic. When I'm back in town I plan to stop in for a cupcake and hopefully get to eat it that time

Yelp
I'm in town from Charlotte, NC for some family celebrations and I have to send a BIG thank you to the Cristaudo's Team for being there for me in a pinch!! You answered my after-hours phone call (who does that?!!?), you offered to search the bakery for a dozen cupcakes for me, and after finding them, you iced them for me (with glitter sprinkles, no less) and then you stuck around and waited for me to arrive to pick them up...nearly two hours after your bakery had closed. No one goes above and beyond like that anymore...all the more reason to support local businesses! You guys ROCK! Your kindness and cupcakes made the perfect finish to my Grandmother's 90th birthday party. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'll be sure to stop by before I leave town to pick up some of the famous PINK COOKIES to take with me on the road!

Yelp
First time for a meal there- we did a Saturday brunch-- picture a pitcher of Mimosas, a salmon with a freshness and smokiness that was cooked to perfection- a breakfast steak that was tender and juicy, challah toast and mixed grain pancakes. So so good. Everything was made to order , so this is slow food, but worth the wait. The atmosphere is coffeehouse, the food - a lot is locally sourced and prepared deliciously, the decor is eclectic and fun- Herb Fink prints were on the wall today. While you are waiting, check out the bakery and the gift area which is a mix of local artisans, vintage and pure camp. Hoping they expand to dinner in the next year. Great for date mornings, laptops, families, and visitors. Enjoy!

Yelp
Cristaudo's is a great bakery/coffee shop combo. The Italian Cream Cake is the greatest cake ever made.

Andy J.

Yelp
I ordered three cakes for a celebration, carrot, tiramisu, and chocolate. Each was delicious and I can't recommend them enough! Not only were the cakes each fresh and tasted wonderful, the staff was all very accommodating and helpful in making sure the flavors and designs were exactly what I wanted. I was very happy with the service and the quality of the cakes. Cristaudo's is my favorite place for cake in Carbondale and the cakes were all gone by the end of the party!

Maggie L.

Yelp
My family has been ordering from Cristaudo's for years - birthdays, graduations, baby showers, etc. A great local bakery whose cookies are always delicious and cute. Love Cristaudo's!
google avatar

Arjay67 ..

Yelp
High quality baked goods at a very good price. Place is no-frills with a lot of the standard items plus a few extras that you may not have seen before in a bakery. I had the cream cheese rolls and an eclair. Both were excellent and very reasonably priced. I don't know if I'll ever have a reason to return to Carbondale. If I do, this place will be one of my first stops!!!!

Yelp
We stopped in at Cristaudo's for a recent chamber of commerce afternoon meeting. The staff was very friendly, and the cookies were simply amazing. With a wide variety of options, I can find something new and delicious every time I go in there. I'm definitely making this place one of my go-to stops when it comes to sweets. Great snacks, friendly service, beautiful building. A+ Cristaudo's!

T C.

Yelp
This place is so good! I have not been in a while because I moved from the area but I used to go here all the time and I love their desserts and breakfast. They recently did the cake for my friend's wedding and it was amazingly decorated and absolutely delicious!

Yelp
I wanted to give Cristaudo's a four-star, but we've been a few times, and while the baked goods are pretty consistently good, the meals are not. We've ordered a few sandwiches there, and they're uniformly bland, under stuffed and just...well...not good. The last time I had the Taco truck tuna tortillas, and they were bad...epically bad and epically sad. I was expecting something a little more substantial and a little, I dunno, better. What I got were two microscopically small mini tortillas, each with about a tablespoon (and I'm not exaggerating here) of insipidly bland tuna salad, a little shredded lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber...and that was it. It was not anything approaching a meal, and it was not good. Other sandwiches I've had there suffer the same thing. Bland, little filling, blah. Breakfast fare is a little better, coffee is pretty good, but wow, if you're baking great stuff and want to show that stuff off for lunch, make a decent sandwich. It ain't hard. Might be back for cookies or bread, but I can't imagine going back for a real meal.

Yelp
I stopped in to Cristaudo's a couple of days ago when I was out running errands and was pleasantly surprised. I had my daughter with me and we each got a treat, and I picked up some cookies to get a good idea of the offerings there. They had some really beautiful bread for sale, and I'll try that next visit. I had the Irish Cream muffin, and the baker told me it had real whiskey in it, so I was looking forward to a new taste sensation. It was wonderful. The muffin was moist, and there was a hint of mint, some nice crunchy chocolate chips for texture, and the whiskey came through beautifully but not too strong. All the flavors were balanced well, and I was really satisfied with my breakfast. My daughter had a mint cocoa cookie, which was two chocolate cookies with a mint frosting filling sandwiched between them. I had a bite, and the frosting was lovely, though a bit sweet for my taste. The cookies were perhaps a bit dry, but the whole thing was tasty, and the organic peppermint from Town Square Market came through really nicely. The cookies, which were a day old and half price, were surprisingly good. At least as good as the ones I make at home, moist and chewy with nice well balanced flavors. The decor is home-style cafe with a hipster edge. Very attractive and inviting. The Six-Pence gift shop is lovely and has a bunch of fun knick-knacks and really attractive jewelry and vases made by local artists. The rest of the cafe is in progress, and I can't wait to try the breads and lunch items. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Not only are the bakery items delicious, their sandwiches are great too! I also really appreciate Cristaudo's because they make cookies for many different holidays and for different religions. The staff is always nice and I like browsing in the store before I make my cookie selection. The only downfall, if I had to say one negative, is that, I feel, it is slightly expensive. But, you get what you pay for, which are delicious, adorable cookies.

Yelp
I love the egg-between sandwiches! This place is great for breakfast and you can get it all day long. Also the espresso drinks rule. This place is rad.

Yelp
Everything is ALWAYS good! cookies and pastries are awesome. Lots to choose from. The sandwiches are really good too and I love their potato salad. The staff is super friendly and I have never been disappointed here. They also have a very nice little store like area in the front with lots of cool and quirky gifts and stuff. Try a blueberry bar you wont be disappointed!
