Room was dark and dated although clean. The receptionist was initially grumpy but chilled out after a bit of chatter. The hotel smells damp when you walk in and really needs a massive upgrade. Plus side is that it's convenient for the train station, restaurants and bars. Nothing to recommend it other than it's location.

I had the worst experience with one of the "old man" receptionist. I arrived at the hotel late, around 1 AM, so tired after my flight was delayed. I had already paid the full price in advance, and they asked for a 100 AUD bond, which usually other hotels only ask for 1 AUD. The POS was erroring, but he blamed my card, then said, "Just go to another hotel if you want to rest." I told him he shouldn't be rude to a guest, and he claimed he was already being polite. I think this old man receptionist has a problem because the next day, other receptionists were normal. I hope this hotel can improve its standard of how to treat guests with all of its employees.

I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than 1 night, we only stayed a night and our room came with an active cockroach, blood stained beds, random stains everywhere, a bathroom tap that wouldn't stop leaking and we were too scared to turn the air con on. The mini fridge was good, the shower had hot water and I didn't get bitten by any bed bugs thankfully.

Rooms are dingy, no windows to open, smells mouldy and not the best looking establishment overall. However, Staff were great, very helpful and friendly and the location is actually perfect in the CBD. Only thing that saves this place. Very close to a lot of stores and right next to the Murray and Hay Street Markets which is great for proximity. Only thing that lets it down is the actual building - in dire need of a makeover or complete demolish and rebuild.

Absolutely avoid! This hotel is a complete disappointment. From the moment you arrive, the smell of dampness is overwhelming. The room was dirty, with stains on the bedding, wall streaks, and an overall unhealthy atmosphere. The online photos are misleading — nothing like the reality! You feel cheated the moment you step inside. No hygiene, no respect for guests. For the price paid, it’s a disgrace. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you want to ruin your stay.

Got a cheap room so can’t expect too much but it was at least workable. The best part was the room came with a fridge that we made good use of. Bathroom light was broken when we arrived so we had to ask staff to replace it, thankfully the man was very nice and came quickly to help. Beds were not too comfy and blankets were very thin, so I had to wear a jumper to sleep. Shower pressure was weaker than my preference but was still able to wash up as needed. Overall, if you aren’t too fussy it’s ok, but it’s nothing luxurious. It’s better if you spend most of your time outside and only use the hotel to sleep.

Hotel staff were friendly BUT I would not recommend the hotel. housekeeper did her job but sheets were still stained and stuff. Plus I rarely got to sleep well at night because of the sounds from the road. Okay if you are staying just for 1 night. But location is okay. Close to shops.

The room I had was on the ground floor and when you entered, it was dark as anything and basically felt like you were in a basement. The bed wasn’t very comfortable - I got poked in my back all night and the blanket cover was a thin bit of material. The door was falling off the front of the cupboard and the bathroom is in dire need of an upgrade. The toilet seat was a bit flimsy and moved a lot. There was a TV but I didn’t use it and the fridge was in good working order. They provided the basics like cups, kettle, tea and coffee. Airconditioner/heater worked well. Room smelt okay and there were no visible signs of mould anywhere. It just could really do with some renovations. Apart from that, staff were nice and provided good service. Overall okay value for money - $315 for 3 nights, but it was in a really good location.

Yelp
It's quiet old but if your not expecting to pay too much and wanting little it's what you get what you pay for. You can get some noisey rooms or people going down the hallway but other than that it depends who stays there as well. But other than that very central to the city.

Yelp
$80 + $100 secure pre-authorisation (which will be reversed back into your bank when you check out) for a single room with 2 single beds per night. It is really cheap and affordable. The interior design is not too bad and quite presentable. Got our own bathroom, a flat-screen tv, fridge, safe box, towels and all the other essentials. The staff is friendly and understanding. They are very polite. I am happy with the service here. Oh! Not to mention, we were given vouchers for a complimentary glass of wine or a soft drink. Also, FREE WIFI.
