My wife and I have been coming here for years -- once or twice a year, or more when we can. The choice of main dishes is good (10 I believe), the food is delicious, cooked perfectly, presented well, and priced reasonably for what you get ($25-$35) -- good portions (yummy salad and warm bread included, with one or two sides with most dishes). I have not found an equal to the seafood pasta anywhere, including Boston and other major city restaurants (and I've looked ...), and the filet au poivre is also awesome, and duck (when they have it), filet mignon, and other dishes are all good, and we've had them all. I'm still not sure how they cook lobster, shrimp, and scallops perfectly at the same time for the seafood pasta. Deserts are also tasty, and the homemade lemon sorbet is uniquely yummy and a perfect finisher for me. The service is also good, and nice full bar with a good selection -- our waitress a few days ago was super nice, attentive (not overly), and informative about the food. The atmosphere is slightly upscale -- most people dress up a bit when going -- and cozy/comfortable -- good for a romantic meal or discussion with friends and family over fantastic food. There is also a cozy waiting area with a couch and tables near the bar for just drinks, or waiting for others to join. We recently had a meal with two friends from the Boston area who are both career chefs, and they were both impressed with the food, value, and ambience, and will likely demand to go again next year when they come to visit us in the summer. :) They also stayed in a room at the Inn, which was comfy/romantic, and got some sort of food + boarding deal that included breakfast, and a dish at dinner. The only downside I can think of about the Crocker House is that they don't serve "late," but that's more of a rural vs. city thing.
