One of the best spots on Weender Street. Some Indians mentioned that the staff might be racist, but I found them to be quite cordial. They often seem short-staffed, and things sell out quickly. Enjoying coffee and cake on a rainy summer afternoon there felt like pure bliss. also bought my bday cake from there.

We had breakfast here and the food is absolutely delightful but the staff was very unfriendly, almost hostile. Perfectly cooked eggs, bread rolls and jelly. They have spacious seating and the café has an Austrian Coffee House vibe. The staff, however, is surprisingly unfriendly. The person at the main bar was complaining to its staff, and yelled at me about what a chaos everything was. When I wanted to pay for my food, I went inside to make it easier because I also wanted to get some goods to take home, and she complained that I couldn‘t just come in there and do that, and referred me to her side to wait. I was very surprised by how she was yelling so much. It did not fit into the ambience and the finely decorated and detailed pastries and sweets they offered. But because the quality of the food is great, I‘ll give it 4 stars.

I had very high hopes for this place and was looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. The taste of Apfelstrudel, croissant, Bobbes, filter coffee and herbal tee was only okay. We barely finished the Apfelstrudel, and the croissant was not fresh at all. The cutleries were very elegant, and the atmosphere is lovely. Before the closing time, we were asked to pay immediately. I can understand that but the staff did not bother to ask in a kind way. Maybe this is just because of the cultural difference, but I don’t think I would go there again.

Excellent cafe with friendly staff, and lots of options for any sweet tooth. The ginger tea was very fresh and refreshing and so were the pastries. Definitely recommended it.

The place is nice and cozzy. Beatiful view and very friendly stuff. The cake and the coffe tasted very normal. I expected more for that price. But I would love to revist it to try somthing else and enjoy the view

Very nice general atmosphere both ground floor (with all chocolate and cakes exposition) and first floor rooms for sitting and enjoying. Slightly pricey maybe.

People growing up in göttingen know that this is the best place for cakes/„Torten“ The specialty baumkuchen is super tasty but also the other cakes are worth a try. Further they have a nice breakfast and other things such as pralines or jam. Perfect if you need to buy a little present for someone to bring from Göttingen.

Classical pastry shop with cozy interior. The cakes were super delicious and definitely worth the price! Staff were also friendly! Recommended for a visit!

Their cakes and cookies are delicious. The displays are lovely. The only issue I have with this place is that they are very rude. I've been there twice in a few years. Both times they act like they don't really want to sell items. Yesterday the woman said the credit card machine didn't work. "No Visa." I said I had a debit. "No!" I said I could use American Express. She said, no. At this point in time I was confused about if the machine work or not and I was confused about why they had a machine out for everyone to see if they didn't take cards. I was about to hand back the food when she relented "fine. You can use it if you spend 10 euros." There were no signs about this either.

When in Göttingen, have cake at Cron & Lanz. Pick a slice from their beautiful ground floor display, take your ticket upstairs, sit yourself at a table in their elegant dining room, order a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Enjoy your beautiful cake with coffee (served with cream) and do some people watching. This is happy hour on a Göttinger Friday.

One of my favorite cafes in the world. The baum kuchen is spectacular!

This is the place where women come to enjoy coffee and kuchen or parents take their children for ice cream or people take a date for a fine piece of Baumkuchen. It's been in Goettingen for 136 years and students on a budget manage to visit one in a while. We enjoyed some ice cream specials and passed on all the beautiful tortes and candies, but it's the finest place in Goettigent for such things. Worth a stop.

Love this place. If you ever make to Goettigen, Germany please make your way here. Downtown Goettigen looks like what we Americans think a typical quaint German town would look like. this cafe is, I believe over 100 years old. One side of the restaurant is chocolate and candies and the other side is desserts. So hard to choice. You give your order and then take a seat and it's brought to you. You're served coffee and tea. I sure it was once a ladies lunch place many decades ago, but now you'll see college students and the ladies lunching crowd as well. If you're lucky there is one spot upstairs at that is a window seat. It's small but with a great view of the street scene below.

I used to walk here with my Oma as a child from Cramer Strasse each week to satisfy my craving for hazelnusse torte! No one in the USA can duplicate this dessert, not even me and I have tried! Cron & Lanz is a wonderful childhood memory and I how to visit with my children one day.

Very cosy authentic Konditorei with homemade cakes and beautiful decoration. Everything is very tasty, we sat for hours discussing things in this nice atmosphere drinking hot chocolate and eating two cakes (we tried Aida and Himbeer, both brilliant!)

I'd heard great things, so I gave it a try when I visited a week ago. Pretty good coffee, but the torte I had was just meh. Dry, not much flavor, though fortunately not terribly pricey. I'd give it another try, but it's not a must for a trip to Göttingen. Plus, let's face it, this is an old lady place.

First-rate Konditorei. Wonderful snacks and delicacies, with a high-class but unrushed, soft atmosphere.

Have been coming here for 20 years ever since I was a baby, and still loving the cakes (Sarah Bernhardt Torte fan for ever) and the atmosphere every time I visit!! Come here for breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea and you will never be disappointed.

excellent place for a light lunch (auflauf) they also do a wonderful selection of breakfasts. Fantastic cakes, coffee and then buy chocolates to take home - good people watching when sitting outdoors.
