15 Best Beaches in Sydney | Condé Nast Traveler

"Famous though it may be for its surfer-friendly waves, Cronulla’s name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "place of pink seashells." Cronulla, which hugs the Bate Bay coastline in Sydney’s southeast, beyond Botany Bay in Sutherland Shire (dubbed ‘The Shire’), is actually a string of beaches; Cronulla Beach and North Cronulla Beach are at the centre, with Elouera and Wanda beaches fanning out towards the north in a golden, five-kilometre sweep. The only Sydney beach that can be reached directly by train (it's about a 45-minute journey from CBD's Central Station), the well-patrolled Cronulla is ideal for families and surfers of all levels." - Sophie Davies

Very nice beach......but it is NOT a nudist beach, this is apparently frowned upon.....and the snapping turtles are relentless (this act alone may be the reason that its not a nudist beach)

One of the most accessible beaches with good waves for surfing by public transport from Sydney. It's best to be here early by sunrise. Get off the train station, cross the street and walk through the lane (Beach Park avenue) between the shops to cross another street and the homes then past the park to get here. Three rock pools are within walking distance along this beach: Cronulla, Shelly and Oaks Park

One of the best place to be. Amazing waves and good environment to chill. Must visit when you are around Sutherland shire. One of the best beaches nobody want to miss. A nice beach with a white sand. Lots of shade around the Rocky areas. Great eateries surrounding the area. A relaxing place to have a cup of coffee by the beach.

A perfect morning at the beach at Cronulla Beach where anyone can enjoy the beach and the view of the sea! Coffee shops are available and public toilets also!

One of most beautiful beaches, accessible via train network. Ample parking, public toilets, sea facing cafes. In short, amazing place for good time at the beach and to have a family picnic. Must visit.

Cronulla Beach is a family friendly beach ⛱️ the beach sand has been eroded and there are warning signs that its dangerous to be on the sand 😳 that and the pollution after the rain stopped me from trying to have a swim 🏊‍♂️

Located on Gerrale Street, Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. A wonderful place to come for a swim at either the Beach or you can try the Rockpool. There’s very good toilet facilities including disability toilets and showers to get the sand off after your swim. There’s various restaurants, cafes and takeaway options to choose from when you get hungry. There is parking available including disability parking but this is a very popular spot so it can get full very fast especially on the weekends and during school holidays. It is walking distance from Cronulla train station and also bus stops. You have quite a large park where there’s a children’s playground area and quite a few tables and chairs scattered around but again these can be occupied very fast, but you could also just bring your own chairs and/or towels to sit on. I really enjoy coming here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thumbs up!! 👍👍👍

Yelp
I really like this beach. You can learn how to surf here too as there is a surf school at the beach. This long beach is beautiful and you do not have sit on the top of each other like on the small beaches in Sydney. Plenty cafe around too.
