Google
Great stop, picnic tables, take-out 10+ service!! I love a great BLT on whole wheat with onion rings, they did not disappoint my taste buds!! Real Strawberry shake, delicious!!

Amy

Google
Great old-school drive-up place. Excellent fried scallops and whole-belly clams and coleslaw. Food was ready in a short time and piping hot. We enjoyed sitting at one of the picnic tables outside on a beautiful summer evening.

Linda R.

Google
I have a gluten allergy, and they were very accommodating. Offered me a gluten free bun and anything off the grill so there would be no cross contamination. The food was delicious.

Laura B.

Google
Delicious food, casual atmosphere. Bonus is the little playground for kids. It was recommended to me as the place for fried class, they were not wrong! Milkshakes were yummy too!

Google
Delicious food and incredible service. We stopped by Crosby’s Drive-In on our way to Bar Harbor, and the place did not disappoint! The menu was extensive — seafood, burgers, ice cream, and much more — and the prices were unbeatable. We got two double cheeseburgers and fries for $23. You just can’t beat that! They were fresh and delicious. Note that they don’t have indoor seating. This is a place where you drive up and order, but that’s part of the charm. We loved the outdoor seating, too — plenty of picnic tables in shaded and sunny areas. Also… the bathrooms were spotless. We will definitely stop by again during our next drive to Bar Harbor.

Google
Nice little drive-in just off route one. Turn right onto Route 46 and you're there. Nice atmosphere good hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Though they do have seafood rolls. Lobster, crab, shrimp, scallops, and clams

Shannon A.

Google
We've eaten here many times over the years. The seafood is great, but the portions have drastically decreased since last year. They were also out of scallops. The fried pickles tonight were inedible. Flavorless and rubbery. Also disappointed that the nice roll you used to get in your basket is now a small slice of a loaf of bread. Highly disappointed.

Lindsey K.

Google
Visiting Maine from Tx and this food was delicious. So much that we devoured the lobster roll before thinking to take a picture. Curly fries and the fried mushrooms were a 10/10! Philly Cheesesteak and onion rings - 10/10 I recommend you come try them out!!

Yelp
Service is great, young ladies who work here are polite and accurate. Food tastes nice. I was yearning for fried clams and they had them! Comes with fries or onion rings, slaw and a roll/butter. They give you two tartar sauces but I swapped one for a cocktail sauce and needed two ketchups for the bounty of crisp fries. It's outside seating and they have Maine made ice cream/shakes! The large clam basket cost is $36 dollars but if you want clam strips it's worth it! If this amount of clams doesn't fill you up, you probably just need to become a clam digger yourself! Enjoy some clams and a shake in Bucksport Maine!

We need more casual, no frills spots like this. We loved the outdoor seating -- plenty of picnic tables in shaded and sunny areas. Also... the bathrooms were spotless. We will definitely stop by again during our next drive to Bar Harbor.

Yelp
We usually stop at Crosby's at least once every two weeks and the food has been delicious. We almost always order the same thing "half and half" fried scallops and fried clams with French fries. Today the clams were not as good because they were probably cooked in old grease but the scallops and fries were great. The prices are about average for the area. They also have some picnic tables set up for outdoor dining. We will be returning in a couple of weeks.

Yelp
I tried to order and I was told they were not taking orders over the phone. You have lost 3 customers.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
It is a drive-in, and it is best to find a way to eat the food then and there while hot. Stuff is made to order, so you have a bit of a wait to they get it done. Food is Okay, not particularly special in any wY

Yelp
We have been to Crosby's a few times. This last visit has finally got me into review mode as our experiences have been too varied. From good to not really good at all. The food is inconsistent. Lobster roll was very dry and didn't have much taste. Onion rings were plentiful, good looking but lacked ANY flavor. Service was good, through a take out window which is the norm for this area. The picnic table seating area was fairly clean (looking at you rafters, pretty dirty up there) but the tables are in big need of painting. There is good off street parking next to the picnic tables and a play area for the kids. This place gets very busy during lunch, perhaps I am ordering the wrong things....

Yelp
Vintage style walk up and order diner. Lots of options. We had the lobster roll with fries and double cheeseburger with bacon add bacon. Both were yummy! Fries are crinkle cut, thin and crispy. These were the thinnest crinkle cut I have ever had. Lots of outdoor seating options under covered patio at picnic tables or patio type deck under umbrellas. They take cards. As of 06/28/20 restrooms were closed and under renovation so if you gotta go, hit up the gas station that is right before this place.

Lisa R.

Yelp
Had our first meal of the year! Excellent!! Fast friendly service!!! New POS system this year.
google avatar

Linda O.

Yelp
Little roadside drive in- outdoor picnic table seating ( or take out). Lots of seafood variety. We had the Lobster roll ($22) and Haddock small basket (13.50) that came with fries and cold slaw. Food was ok - Seafood fast food. They also had burgers and ice cream. Place was very crowded apparently a local hot spot.
google avatar

Spencer S.

Yelp
Stopped in for soft serve this evening. Fast service but a little pricey for what you get. I got two small twists and it cost $7.10. Price is about average but the ice cream amount seemed underwhelming even for a small. Tasted good though after a hot day hiking.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Tasty, the side of chips was very big. Order made fast everything tasted fresh. We had a hamburger a fried chiken sandwich and a double cheeseburger.

Spencer B.

Yelp
Place is fantastic supper friendly staff and food is consistently good and well portioned. Outdoor seating area is always clean and well kept.
google avatar

Leila S.

Yelp
A great place to sit outside under the gazebo with our pup and enjoy the lunch. Bathrooms a plus!
google avatar

Angela K.

Yelp
Awesome food & service. I recommend the lobster roll. Don't forget ice cream before you leave - the blueberry was great!
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Food is really good and so is the service. Have a nice outdoor eating g area. Parking isn't the best but ok for the space they have. There is a small playground for kids to play too. Best fried Pickles around!!
google avatar

Randy G.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! About an hour before you land in Bar Harbor this classic drive in is tucked away just outside of Bucksport Maine. Choices range from Cheeseburgers to Lobster Rolls and everything in between! The fries and onion rings are the show stopper here. The fries are hand cut and the rings are homemade. I left busting at the seams and never got my ice cream. Which means only one thing... I'll be back!
google avatar

Lynda M.

Yelp
We visited Crosby's because our usual standby, Jordan's, has been closed all season. We were really disappointed with the fried clams. They seemed overcooked and the coating was coming off in big hunks. Both of our orders had a big ball of clams (almost baseball sized) all stuck together at the bottom. I don't know what caused this but we were all really disappointed. The double burger looked great though. The ice cream was good though.

Lynn M.

Yelp
Ended up here because Carriers was packed. Staff was friendly. Ordered a lobster roll and was so disappointed. Hardly any lobster in it. Lettuce layer on bottom left no room for lobster. Pricey for what I got. Husband got the haddock sandwich $8 worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Old-time drive-in -ish place. I wish that I could have seen Bucksport in its mill heyday. This place would have been the place to have been during those fun, summer nights. Our family enjoyed a variety of food that we ordered. The clams, whole belly, weren't as crispily fried as some of the members of my family wanted but the slaw and fries more than made up for it. My delicious Buck Burger was perfectly cooked, medium rare, and it had the right smattering of pickle, thousand island, and coleslaw. What a delicious treat.
google avatar

EJ G.

Yelp
The food is really good. Really expensive but really good. The service generally seems confused when I order. Overall, Crosby's is the one to go to when traveling through Bucksport, Maine for a fun drive in' experience.
google avatar

Mikk W.

Yelp
A local staple. I'm pretty sure that if local residents don't eat here at least once a week, during summer months, they are stoned and shamed in the town square. If not, they should be. Crosby's has been in business for many years and is always excellent. Since a longtime employee, Mike, took the business over he has been steadily improving the grounds and facilities, as well as expanding the menu a little. But it's still the same excellent food, very lightly breaded seafood, and great service as always. A "must try" if you're in the area.

Mia C.

Yelp
Could've gotten a better chicken sandwich at McDonald's A chicken sandwich shouldn't taste like canned tuna

Piper G.

Yelp
If you want COVID19 paronoia, this is your place. Still requiring mask! On line outside. Mask for ordering, mask for pickup, mas for standing in line. Food is a matter of taste. This food is not worth the unpleasant hassel.
google avatar

Teresa K.

Yelp
Always enjoyed Crosby's icecreams in the past. Unfortunately, the soft serve machine wasn't functioning properly, icecream was too soft, cones weren't able to hold the icecream. Instead of telling us they couldn't put Jimmies on our icecreams they offered them to us in a cup on the side. When I declined Jimmies in a cup, I wasn't offered a refund. I understand things can't always run smoothly and machines have glitches, but I would rather be told up front instead of after I have paid money.

Yelp
Stopped in for a lobster roll on recomendation ($19.95). Did not get fries (+$2) or onion rings (+$3). It was packed full of lobster (always a bonus). Lobster was mixed with mayo. Could habe done with a little less mayo. Toasted split-top hotdog roll and bed of iceberg lettuce completed it. Plenty of picnic tables, including a covered section. The grounds also had a play structure for young kids to play on. Other menu items included other fired seafood (clams, scallops, etc). Also had hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken finger baskets. Ice-cream is sold at a separate window. My wife and children got ice-cream and said it was good.
google avatar

Stuart K.

Yelp
Stopped in on our way to Castine. Heard very good things about it. Large menu was hard to decide what to get. We had the fried chicken which was outstanding. Even better than what we had in New Orleans. Not too greasy either. Fries and fresh onion rings were also fantastic. Wife had the clams which she just loved. Very clean picnic tables and a friendly staff. Hope to go back one day!
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We stopped by tonight for dinner while on our way back to our camper. The burgers were big and had great flavor. The fried clam were fresh and tender. My daughter loved her grilled cheese, we all laughed when she said, 'Mmmmmm, they used the good cheese!' I think it was white American... lol! We also loved the onion rings, they have a thin flaky batter. We did not try the ice cream, but we are planning on stopping back before we leave town, because who doesn't wanna try whoopie pie ice cream?! Thanks for a great dinner! Everything was also very clean and people were doing a great job of practicing social/physical distancing.

Yelp
Large menu to pick from while taking a break from a scenic road-trip through Maine. It's not the Hilal food truck in NYC, they serve seafood at market price. Ask what's on special too. Good: -Milkshakes (thick and/or regular) -Lobster Roll Basket -Fried Clam Baskets -Eating outside at the picnic tables -Food comes out pretty fast considering they are busy -Big portions, you'll leave full Bad: (none really) -This place isn't in New York City -Not bad per se, but they don't accept American Express
google avatar

Althea G.

Yelp
Usually I can count on Crosby's. It's a great place to get a quick burger or fried clams. But I just had their lobster roll and it was the absolute worst lobster I've ever had!! DO NOT GET THE LOBSTER ROLL. But definitely a good experience for anything else.
google avatar

Roland H.

Yelp
My first introduction to Maine cuisine was at Crosby's in July 2010. I had never been to Maine before and I had just taken Concord Coach from Logan Airport to Bangor. It was five-hour bus ride and I was starving. Not to mention, the humidity did not sit well with me. Needless to say, I was not in a good mood. However, one bite of the lobster roll turned my frown upside down. It was simply amazing. Large portions of lobster on a toasted roll. It's simple, but delicious. Hands down one of the things I look forward to every time I go to Maine in the summer.
google avatar

Dakan M.

Yelp
Best place in town for food. The service is amazing and the crowd there is usually cheerful. It's amazing with a play ground for kids and nice place to sit in the shade. The food comes out fast even when it's busy! This place is really good for new comers and people who live in Maine. It's definitely a must try!
google avatar

Allison D.

Yelp
Not a drive in - despite the name. Lettuce and tomato on burgers $0.75 extra. Small lobster roll $17. Don't take credit cards. Instead of driving in, we recommend driving by.

Popo P.

Yelp
Haven't been to Crosby's for quite some time. We stopped yesterday after being insulted at the Bagaduce River Snack Bar in Penobscot. Was not disappointed, good food, cheerful employees and the grounds were spotless, NO CIGARETTE BUTTS! Will return soon

Beverly M.

Yelp
You ended up being our go to restaurant because every other one was closed by 6:00 or didn't open. Your chowder was good and grandchildren liked the chicken fingers. I finally got a taste of other restaurants and you win hands down
google avatar

Felicia L.

Yelp
Classic "Drive-in" fair, with enough grease to slow you down for the rest of the day, and it's totally worth it. Their basket meals are HUGE, and I personally suggest the grilled chicken sandwich. Don't forget to get some soft serve!
google avatar

Pam W.

Yelp
Based on the last review I am wishing I could go back in time to 2007 when the portion sizes really were HUGE. Visiting the area for vacation, we stopped here for a bite to eat. Checked out the menu and saw they offered baskets in a small and large size. Seeing as both my husband and I LOVE fried scallops we decided to share the large, as it cost $17. We got seats in the outdoor picnic area (which was very nice considering we had five active children under the age of 3) and waited for our food. They called our number, my husband brings over our tray opens up the scallop platter, and there were seriously like 6 scallops that were cut in half. Are you kidding me?! This is your large?! We sat for a minute in disbelief. Our friend says "No way is that a large"...so my husband carried our tray back to the counter to ask. My husband: Is this really a large? Server #1: I don't know let me ask...(asks server #2) Server #2: Um...maybe...hold on...(asks the cook in the kitchen who confirms it is in fact a large) Server #2: Yes this is a large... My husband: so what does your small look like? Both servers: (blank stare) Sigh. It is a shame because the food wasn't half bad, but was certainly not worth $17 (unless there was gold leaf inside the fried batter we missed). Although it seems totally possible that they did, in fact, give us a small, as neither server had a clue what the sizes looked like. That would have been more reasonable at ~$11.

Yelp
Sightseeing through Maine and stopped for a light lunch. Service was friendly, menu had lots of choices and the food was good. Lots of picnic tables with shade available. Nice place.

Shannon R.

Yelp
Perfect Maine dinner spot! It's just off the beaten path and well worth seeking out. I tried many different items on the menu and non of them disappointed. They have a great covered area to eat and a playground to entertain while the food is cooking. Don't forget to grab an ice cream for dessert!

Chris B.

Yelp
Place has gone downhill in the past few years. My last visit, the seafood was gritty and the chicken batter was overcooked. The staff however was awesome and super friendly. I will go back again next year. Maybe things will be better...

John W.

Yelp
First time here with family. Food was served quickly and fresh. Prices were reasonable and food tasted good. Fries and Onion Rings were really good as was the Golden Buck Burger. Delicious. Nice place to stop in and sit outside enjoying the day with a nice meal.
google avatar

Margie S.

Yelp
Lobster roll ok, mostly claw meat without much flavor. Over priced for what you get. Appears loaded but using very small buns. French fries were good. Drinks are mostly ice and no refills. We are visiting in the area and I can honestly say these were the most disappointing.
google avatar

Hacobo P.

Yelp
Finally got to try Crosby's. It was everything I hoped it would be. Delicious fried Maine shrimp and clams. Portions were more than I could eat and the service was fast and friendly. They had ice cream too but I will have to save that for another time, along with a Maine lobster roll. There was plenty of covered and uncovered outdoor seating.
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
I swung by Crosby's on a tour of coastal Maine this summer and I was not let down. I absolutely must recommend the fried clams (I'd call myself a bit of a connoisseur), they do not disappoint! They are very lightly coated with the most perfect, crunchy (not greasy) batter. These big boys are delicious whole Maine clams, much more pleasant to the palate than their clam strip brethren. My boyfriend tried the lobster roll, which was another HUGE success (size and flavor wise). It was simply tasty lobster with a touch of dressing on the traditional bun. He could not have been more pleased, there must have been a whole lobster in there :) To finish our experience we shared a couple scoops of Razzle Dazzle ice cream and a homemade chocolate shake. This is where my BF is the connoisseur, he knows a good chocolate shake when he tastes one and he was floored! It tasted just like the ones Momma makes :) I'd say that Crosby's is just the place you NEED to stop into when you're cruising through Maine :) Oh P.S. There's a lovely, covered outdoor seating area and a play set for the kiddos! Bring the whole fam...
google avatar

Jamie I.

Yelp
The fried pickles are the absolute best! I'm sure everything else is good, but I just can't get by the fried pickles.
google avatar

Michele S.

Yelp
So glad I finally stopped into this place after reading do many good things about it. This is what your typical Maine locally-owned seafood drive-in is all about. My scallop basket was served promptly with plump, moist scallops, a generous side of hot fries, tasty slaw, what looked like a homemade roll, and very friendly service. Perfect.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Stopped here after a round of golf at Bucksport golf course. Ordered a dbl bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. Definitely was not disappointed. For a quick drive in food type place the burgers came out steaming hot, along with the onion rings as well. Patties were nice size and they certainly did not skimp on the onion ring portions. Nice place for a quick meal.

Jordan T.

Yelp
One of the best spots for drive-in food in the state, and i should know being a Maine resident for the past 22 years. Nothing beats their double bacon cheese burger topped off with a large cookie dough flurry; the only way to describe this sinful combination is "culinary orgasm"! I go by everytime Im in the area to sit down at their quaint outdoor dinning area and enjoy a reasonably priced dinning experience. Because that's really what I enjoy most about this place, the "Crosby's experience". Im always met by the inviting, smiling faces of the pleasant Crosby's servers who always have a good entree recommendation when I cant make up my mind on what to get form their substantial menu. I always end up leaving with a full stomach and an even more full spirit! Thank you Crosby's Drive-In!
google avatar

Carol H.

Yelp
Lobster Roll was delicious; LOTs of lobster held together w/a lite amt of mayo, buttered, toasted roll, not too much butter, and a crisp piece of lettuce-worth the price. Slaw was crisp, cold and typical, but good. FF were OK, nothing special. Haddock special, VG, not too much Breading, not greasy. Shaded pavilion. Fast service. Pleasant owner.

Wayne C.

Yelp
Remember Crosby's as a kid in the 50's/60's. Left in 1966 for a vacation in Viet Nam and travelled the world - Returned June 2014 for a vacation from Florida and found Crosby's in the same location although new diner - Food was still AWESOME !!!! Don't change a Thing !!!!!!!!!!! Lobster roll, Onion Rings and Root Beer - What more could you want - ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
