"As if being the world’s smallest church was not unique enough, the Cross Island Chapel is also stranded in the middle of a pond. The tiny white, clapboard chapel sticks out from the middle of the lush pond surroundings on a floating jetty just large enough to moor one rowboat to. The room was built in 1989 and has under 30 square feet of space on the inside. Just large enough for a bride, a groom and someone to wed them, so long as they don’t mind getting crammed together. The titular Cross Island is nowhere to be seen, but there is a small cross jutting out from some exposed rocks in the pond, which is the most likely candidate." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Cross Island Chapel aka The World’s Smallest Church is an interesting landmark. The church is in the middle of a small pond just down the road from the Turning Stone Casino. A sign on the shore of the pond gives the dimensions as 51 by 81 inches or less than 30 square feet. It’s possible the church might fit three people? There is no formal parking lot nearby, but you can pull up alongside the pond. There is very little traffic in the area, and you’ll probably have the area to yourself. There are two lawn chairs if you’re interested in spending more time here. If you’re in the area it is definitely worth a look.

Doesn't look like much pulling up but turned out to be super cute and worth the side trip. Fed the geese, enjoyed the sunshine and view from the chairs on the shore.

It's nice to stop and watch the wildlife for a few minutes here, there isn't a regular parking lot but you can pull onto the shoulder. Please leave the animals alone!

Very cool to see! If you’re on a road trip going through this area (or live relatively close) it’s a nice and quirky little stop. Saw there was a number on the sign to call for availability. Didn’t have a reason to do so then, but it would be neat to see inside.

Genuinely could not believe this place existed... until today. Beautiful area surrounding a beautiful view of the world's smallest!! The church can actually be used for special occasions, and even prayers (Not a whole lot of room, but I doubt the geese would mind joining you lol) Amazing experience, even just stopping by for 5 minutes to gaze upon this rare sight
