On the Grid : Bookmakers

"For a crafted cocktail made with pride, look no further than the speakeasy-like ambience of Bookmakers. With its lush decor and dim lighting, this cocktail club is ideal for a romantic night out, and your date will be more than impressed by the seasonal menu and extensive drink list. The complex flavors of their signature twists on classic cocktails like the Bookmakers Old Fashioned are not to be missed, while the New American menu contains delights such as cheeseburger deviled eggs and a pork shoulder pot roast that will melt in your mouth." - Planit

Google
Cross Street Public House opened completely under my radar. They've got a TON of seating, lots of beer on draft, and a killer menu! I think the ambiance is a nice change of pace compared to other places nearby that always have music blasting full tilt. We ordered some beer and two pizzas (three little pigs + spicy roni). I found the detroit pizzas to be a fluffier/lighter version of Underground Pizza. A single pie was still plenty filling though. The banana peppers on the spicy roni added too much pickling to my taste, but I just picked a few off and was good. 👍 Next time, we'd probably get one pie + an app. The rest of the menu was filled with items that seem PERFECT on a night of drinking with friends. I'm stoked to come back and explore the rest of the menu & the rooms we didn't peruse. Edit: Note that their kitchen closes between 9 and 10pm. ☹ Edit 2: Stopped by for the happy hour and grabbed some $10 pizzas. We didn't learn our prior lesson & got TWO again. 🤣 I think the margherita falls into an uncanny valley for me, so I preferred the flavours of the cheese steak more. Both were still delicious and made AMAZING leftovers!

Barrett was our server for brunch. He was the only one on shift and was not only attentive and timely with our table, but took the time to give us a tour of the spacious upstairs and explain the monthly events they have, such as line dancing. We’re excited to come back and experience what they have to offer!

We stopped here for a few drinks as we waited for a table next door. It was a chill environment considering it was game day. I thought the service and seating was good for how busy it got towards the end of our time. Everyone was very kind, so I would definitely come back to have a more adequate experience.

Unsanitary!! Rude bouncers!!! Whole place gives me a weird vibe. Stay away!

Google
This place should be awesome. They have a great amount of games inside, great drink deals, and a great atmosphere. Although when we got our food, we were SEVERELY disappointed. When I spend 15$ on a burger and get a frozen patty that tastes like rubber I am not happy. First time in a while I did not pack up a to go container.

Lizzy was AWESOME! SERVICE IS A1! She came over to me in a jiffy before I could announce me and my party was hiding in the back! A1 stuff! The prices weren't outrageous for the portions, everything looked so good! My nephew got the cinnamon pancakes it looked amaaaazing and I got wings, fried ad cheese steak which was delicious! My new spot while I'm Baltimore from DC! Fun spit arcades and grreeeat vines, decor, clean bathrooms that don't stink.

Google
Ok. Andrew the mgr took our reservations. Surprise! They do not take reservations! Did not need to sham us. Food was mostly fried. Only bar service (no waitresses). If you want to just be social it looks like fun. If you are going out to dinner with your wife and friends go somewhere else.

Yelp
The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating The space was lively looking and had plenty of tvs. The food was unexpectedly extremely delicious. We had the honey old bay wings and my husband disney were a 10/10 for him which coming from him is saying a lot. they had the perfect balance of everything and they were fried perfectly. We also tried the margaherita pizza and I asked for pepperoni to be added to 1/2 of it which they accommodated and it was delicious. It was the perfect crust and perfect fluffy. I could have just ate the crust all day. The fires were also perfect. I was want even k. the kids for this food but I'm so glad I tried it! And the cost of all of it was under $50 and we had leftovers.

Yelp
Surprisingly good pizza! This place can get a little crazy and is your typical fed hill bar, but I'd come back for some of this deep dish 'za!

Yelp
Cross Street Public House should be your new place when watching sports or hanging with friends. Home of the Michigan State Baltimore Spartans, Cross Street Public House has been become my go-to bar for all things MSU sports. "Go green!" The service is great and the drink choices and deals are amazing. Be sure to check out their new hotdog tower!

Yelp
Nice place to get a drink. Next time I will try the pizza . I like the vibe here because it's a bar with tv to watch the game and I can tell activities to play with friends. The bartender was cool

Yelp
Let's start with Jannah. Give her more hours! She was amazing. Gave good recommendations. Super nice bartender we had a good convo with her. I had the pizza rolls (she recommended) and they were amazing. Tried the Nashville Hot pizza. That was really good too. Think Unos pizza but actually good. They just revamped the menu so they also had a ton of brunch options. They also had a few arcade games which were fun. It was nice day so the windows/doors in the front were all open so it almost felt like you were outside. The watermelon sour patch frozen drink was sooooo good. We will for sure be back!

Yelp
I was absolutely pleasantly surprised by the food here! The pizza is better than underground in my opinion, I love the spicy roni. Also the pizza rolls were amazing! Highly highly recommend

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Cross Street Public House since they opened, but between COVID and my habit to just go to my usual places, I had been sleeping on it. Boy do I regret not going sooner. When I arrived I was surprised how nice it looked inside. Cross St bars can be a bit hit or miss, but this place was clean, well lit, things were nicely spaced out. Overall atmosphere was just really welcoming. My wife and I had heard good things about the pizza and ordered a spicy roni, but we wanted to try more so ended up getting a buffalo chicken sandwich as well. Let's get the bad news out of the way first. The buffalo chicken sandwich was not good. My wife and I are both picky about chicken meat, and maybe we just got a bad piece. The sandwich fixings were good, but the meat was bad to the point that we ended up tossing most of it. Again, this may be an issue of personal taste, or bad luck. In any case, the pizza more than made up for it. This pizza is F-ing great. Flavor-wise it is interesting without being too busy. A bit of heat without blowing out your pallet. Even more impressive is how filling they are. After tossing most of our sandwich we each had a slice of pizza and still ended up with some left over. We will 100% be ordering pizza from here again, and I am eager to go back and try out their happy hr as well. The sandwich came with chips, and while the walk home wasn't kind to them, they were still good. I bet these chips on-site would be killer. Finally, the staff were excellent. I asked a couple questions about the restaurant and their happy hr and they took the time to explain and answer question and were just generally very nice. If I didn't have a late meeting tomorrow I would be headed back tomorrow afternoon to check out the Happy Hr :)

Yelp
Fantastic new place in Fed Hill! Went during a ravens game, was fairly crowded but still got quick service. Ordered some drinks and a margherita pizza- incredible thick, Detroit style pizza. Best I've had in Baltimore! Will definitely go back.

Yelp
I'm conflicted with this one...great location, great space, great service. I can tell the food is done well. Here's my problem - the pizza is really good - fresh ingredients, well made, big serving for the money. The sauce has a nice flavor, but while it's described as a "red sauce" on the menu it's actually a very spicy sauce; the kick is enough that my lips were burning and I had to stop eating it. That's not what I want in a pizza (especially with no warning). It would be great if they offered a regular red sauce choice, I've never before encountered a pizza sauce this hot where it was the only choice. Is that what "Detroit Style" means? I thought that description was about the crust (which was terrific). So if you like a good kick, you'll love this pizza, otherwise you might want to try something else on the menu. BTW - I got the "Deluxe" and she got the "Veggie".

Yelp
All the flavors are there. However verrrrrry soggy. Cheese overwhelmed the pizza. If they get the crust right I would order again.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the pizza. All the ingredients were very fresh and had a great flavor. Didn't love the sandwich (chicken parm) but the fries were delicious. Service was quick and attenti

Yelp
I asked the bartender how big is this glass? They say, 12 ounces. I say how much is the average pour and she says 6 ounces. I said is this 6 ounces of this 12 ounce glass and she says NO! Does nothing. Walks away with a smirk on her face. Don't go there.

Yelp
So very yummy! Cross Street Public House is a great addition to Fed Hill. Service was great and the cheese curds, pizza, and drinks were even better!

Yelp
I don't know how this place doesn't have more buzz- the pizza is absolutely insane at less than half the cost of its local competitors. They just added a Buffalo chicken pizza to the menu too which I have to try but I guaruntee it's awesome.

Yelp
I don't make it to Baltimore City often, but I went out of my way this weekend to try their Detroit style pizza and I was not disappointed. As someone that enjoys making my own pizza, I can appreciate what it takes to make a quality pizza. If you enjoy pizza, you need to check this place out!
