Crossbow Telluride: Handcrafted Leather Goods & Custom Hats

I had an amazing experience at Crossbow! Mercedes was incredibly kind and patient, especially helpful as she guided me through the different felts and customization options. Even though I arrived during the last hour before closing, Mercedes took her time to help me create a custom hat without making me feel rushed at all. The final product was beautifully done, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stopped in yesterday. We had an amazing experience. Grace worked really hard finding a custom hat that fit her and the whole experience was just great. She loves her hat. It was so fun working with Grace and then Rebecca when she came in and helped finish up.

I’ve been coming to Telluride for the past 3 years and always wanted to stop into Crossbow. I finally pulled the plug, and I’m so happy I did (a little mad I didn’t sooner). Katrina made me a custom beaver hat, and it turned out amazing—simple and elegant to where I can add pieces when traveling here each year. She truly knows her way around hats and how to customize them to fit exactly what you want. Her dog Rigley and our dog even played together while we were there. Such a fun, welcoming vibe, and we can’t wait to come back!

Crossbow is a favorite of mine, after doing a few hats and all the gifts over the years it’s easy to call a favorite. All the gals there are great! yet Katrina has gone above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. Lots of credit for her customer service, quality of work and passion. Be sure to stop in! Rigley alone is enough to stop in for.

I had a hat custom made by Sierra. She was super helpful, she explained the process and pricing up front. She was kind, didn’t rush me, and helped create the perfect hat for me. I met the owner while there, she was also so kind! Loved this shop and the handmade leather. A must visit when in town.

I don’t leave reviews often and really only positive ones. Typically if I have negative feedback, I keep it to myself. I have waited several days as well to write this. I have been wanting a custom hat for a very long time. This was finally the trip where I was ready to spend several hundred dollars and up on that perfect one customized to my personality. I went in on Monday 6/16/25 to look around and to begin the process. I had a friend and her older daughters (very quiet and very well behaved) with me and for the most part they stayed outside. It was a bit busy and there were a handful of ladies working there. I was seen by all the employees and no one even gave me so much as a hello or even a head nod. I just figure I’d come back alone later in the week. Fast forward to Wednesday and I came in alone, there were no customers and 3 ladies working. No one said hello or welcome or anything. I felt very awkward looking around and they just talked amongst themselves and said nothing. I stayed for a good 10 minutes. I then made the decision to leave at that point. No one said goodbye or anything. I ended up going somewhere else in another town and had a really beautiful and personal experience making a hat that I love. These types of things do not come without a decent price. I work hard for what I have and I couldn’t justify spending a dime of it in a store where I felt so unwelcome. I’m a 45 year old woman and I’ve held multiple customer service positions in all types of fields for half my life. I know the power of a simple smile and kind word to someone. It can change their entire day and view. The world is already tough on us all. All of this to say, I hope that this company will take some advice from a little southern lady from South Carolina and train their staff more efficiently in proper customer service and care. It goes a very long way 🩷

Rebecca took the most amazing care of us. We had a blast custom designing our beaver and rabbit hats!! They stand by their product and have a large collection of accessories to choose from. A must if you want a gorgeous custom made hat in Telluride!!!

Excellent customer service! We had a custom belt and hat made and couldn't be happier. The team are true experts at their craft--professional, detail-oriented, and they made excellent suggestions that helped us design something we'll treasure. The finished pieces turned out beautifully. Highly recommend the investment of a custom belt and/or hat here. Highly recommend! Loved the entire experience! Also leave time to go into the "speak-easy" next door...super fun! 10/5 stars!

I fell in love with this cute little shop on our recent trip to Telluride! Anytime I see trendy looking leather purses in a window, I must stop in. But what I didn't expect was their wide array of accessories, hats, bags, belts, and more. The best part? A local maker was making the leather goods right behind the counter! How cool is that? As a mom of a toddler, I've become a BIG fan of hats. Sometimes you just need to be able to get ready in 5 minutes so popping on a hat truly brings an outfit together quickly and you can even get away without a shower and freshly styled hair. I have a beloved tan wool hat that is my go-to in colder months but have been on the hunt for a black one! Well, Crossbow Leather had the simple black wool hat (brand is Will & Bear) of my dreams! It will most definitely be a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe, especially because I wear a lot of black! I loved that they had a bunch of sizes to ensure the perfect fit. I also picked up an adorable black and white gingham hair tie made by a local gal as well. I can't wait to stop in the next time that we're in town! Thank you for making my hat dreams come true!

AMAZING! Had a group traveling to Telluride for a corporate event. Contacted Crossbow to schedule a shopping event for 10 ladies. We gave them a gift card and Crossbow ordered champagne and a charcuterie board for the ladies while they shopped. From the beginning, the ladies at Crossbow were so helpful in getting this event set up. The ladies in our group had an AMAZING time. They loved the event, the staff, the store and the items they purchased. Yes, I contacted Crossbow to organize the event, but they did all the work. It was a team effort, but the ladies at Crossbow ROCKED IT!!! I can't thank them enough and I HIGHLY recommend the store and the work they do!

Longer wait time without any notice and unprofessional: Stopped by during our trip and ordered a small leather key holder with my husband's name stamped as a gift. They told that it would be ready in 20 mins and I would be notified via text. After an HOUR without any notice, I went back to the store and heard they were still working on orders made before me. (Why didn't you tell me about it when I made an order and why did you ask my phone number if you wouldn't notify me?) After waiting at the store, the person who made it gave me just the key holder without a bag or a box. That person didn't even apologize. Wish they were more professional on managing orders and treating customers. Also, don't call the number on the receipt under the store name to check your order status. It is not the store number. It is someone's number who is working there.
