Canada's Icefields Parkway Is One of the World's Most Scenic

"A glacier that is easily seen from the roadside during the drive, providing one of the striking glacial vistas along the route. It is often cited alongside frozen Bow Lake and Tangle Falls as scenic highlights visible from the car." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. It’s beautiful view point but as we went by the end of summer not much snow or glacier was visible. Nonetheless still view is beautiful . Stop by to take a break when you drive up or down on Icefields parkway .

Absolutely breathtaking views at the glacier! It’s amazing to see snow in the middle of summer, and the lake was still partly frozen — like stepping into another world!!!

Lovely viewpoint of an ancient glacier. Hopefully we can preserve these magnificent structures for future generations

Compared to photos of other folks there doesn’t seem to be much of the crowfoot left but beautiful nonetheless.

Beautiful glacier that now less and less resembles a glacier due to its retreat as a result of global warming. The glacier can be seen from a pull of on Icefields Parkway and it is situated by the Bow lake. The glacier itself feeds the Bow river which flows east towards Banff!

Crowfoot Glacier is 20-miles NW of Lake Louise and is visible from the Icefields Parkway, which is where this photo was taken. This avoided the purchase of the Banff Park Pass. It lays on the flank of Crowfoot Mountain and it's run-off supplies the Bow River. When the early explorers first discovered it, it had three prongs, which gave it it's name. Over time, it has receded, and now there are only two prongs, but it still commands one's attention. The view looks at a vertical side of one of the prongs so several layers of ice, including blue, are visible.

It was a beautiful sight to see along the Icefields Parkway. Unfortunately, when I saw it, one of the "toes" had collapsed. I'm not sure how much is left now.
