Some of the best coffee I have ever had. Excellent breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Amazing vintage vibe. You can tell how great this place is before even ordering because the whole front of the cafe is packed with locals. If I could give this place 10 stars I would.

Adorable little place! Great breakfast/lunch spot! Fast services, very friendly staff..Nice open space for young families.. . Best blueberry muffin, hope to trade recipes🤣. Very fast has become my top fav! Stop in give it a try!

Walked in after almost a year. Last time I was here the owner was on the back and he had hired actual charismatic people to talk to costumers. I casually asked if he had any breakfast specials and this is what he responded " Ohh yeah we haven't had specials since Biden was elected" What!?. I held my laughter and took a seat to wait for my food. The lackluster attitude this owner gives costumers is mindblowing. Oh and a bacon egg n cheese w a med coffee is like $8.75.... yeah buddy this is Bridgeport.

My husband and I dropped by for a spontaneous date. The restaurant is very relaxed and welcoming. Food was incredible. I had a Rueben sandwich and it was spectacular. Their pastries were as so top notch. Service was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place for casual dates.

I recently went to the Crown Cafe for breakfast sandwiches. I called in the order on the phone and everything was ready when I got there. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the buns were fresh. The prices were very reasonable as well. Hope to go back soon.

Quite possibly the best breakfast spot in the North End. Fresh Meats are as fresh as they come as well, and very fairly priced.

Good sandwich. Got a Turkey Bacon Egg and Cheese and a toasted cream bagel for my mom.

Decided to give this spot a second chance after a not so great first experience. This visit made up for it. I got the SHU breakfast sandwich even though I went to Fairfield U haha and it was pretty good. A little pricey it was about $6 so keep that in mind. I also got a large nitro cold brew ($4) and it was great. The customer service this time was much better this time around. I love the set up of the cafe. I grew up a few streets away so I watched this plaza change a ton over the past 20 years. Great to see what they have done with the space. I'd definitely visit in the morning whenever I'm in Bridgeport again.

My favorite place to get a Lox Bagel from! The salmon is always fresh. The inside is a very cute place to eat. The tables are old dining room tables each topped with playing cards to enjoy while you eat. The muffins are soft and delicious. One of my favorite breakfast places in general. Definitely want to stop by for lunch one day!

I came here for the first time after my morning walk and I love it everything is fresh,hot and delicious the lady at the front desk is super sweet as well as the man up front I will be back the food was great

Crown Cafe has a long list of best. Topping the list is their cappuccino, custom made the right way with high quality coffee beans. Starbucks, fugget about it. Bagels are the best in the area and always fresh, served with a legitimate schemer of cream cheese. Sandwich selection is creative and put together with care, well priced. Vibe of the place is authentic B'port north end, with a comfortable seating area, space to open you laptop, good Wi-Fi, frequented by locals as their corner gathering place, SHU students, firemen on their lunch run and the local politicians. Craig runs the place with a strong hand, with pride in the food and his place. Check it out.

So I ha e been following the reviews for this new place and finally got around to trying it today. I am so glad I stopped in. Initially the idea was to stop in for breakfast which by the way they serve all day but since it was noon I decided to go with lunch. The cafe looks like one of those spots you go when you are away on vacation. It actually looked like a small town cafe where all the locals tend to stop in and have their coffee and baked goods. One side of the cafe has a baked goods coffee station and on the other side you can order a cold sandwich or buy meats or prepared foods. They have several tables and a tv to watch sports. For our meals my girlfriend had the egg and ham breakfast sandwich on a Portuguese roll. I chose to have lunch and ordered the Cubano. Let me just say that I am very picky when it comes to my Cuban sandwich and without a shadow of a doubt I will be back. The portion is excellent and the taste is out of this world. The hit it out the park. I also had an orange sugar free soda (Virgil's) which was great. As we sat there waiting for our meal we were talking with another customer who had been there before and she shared some other items to order for the next time. It is a safe bet we will be back and soon. I think we found a new breakfast/lunch spot.

Best cafe in Bridgeport!!!! Super excited being here today:) they have board head deli meats at fabulous prices, all kinds of delicious sandwiches and coffee, espresso, cooked hams and lamb for the holidays or any day. Fish fry Friday's, rotisserie chicken, fresh seafood RIGHT HERE IN THSI BEAUTIFUL DIVERSE & Artsy city of Bridgeport! Come on over and take a peek you won't be disappointed Update 6/2/19 Service a little slow on Sunday. Waited 30 minutes to get coffee and 6 breakfast order were either wrong, missing sausage or toast Suggestion! Let all people at front just take care of register and making coffee immediately! Or put a coffee bar for regular, decaf and teas where people can serve themselves. Breakfast, regular sandwiches all other orders should be taken by two people at back on the side by meats, then bring your ticket to register trust to pay!

Great coffee, quality food! Will always stop by when we are nearby. And, we are close by often.

Wonderful atmosphere, good food, and service with a smile. A true neighborhood treasure with a great mix of people in a bright, welcoming space. And yes, it probably is the "best damn coffee in Bridgeport," just like the sign says.

Visiting the area and stumbled across this local gem! Great coffee, donuts and bagel sandwiches. Family run with plenty of charm - felt like sitting in my family's kitchen! We only came for a quick breakfast - but the full kitchen looks like the have much more to offer!

I'm making this version of my review public ....because it's not acceptable ...deserve this food When it was not ready for human consumptions ... that kind of service on a place like that make me think a lot ...most when we are on a pandemia ?!with the Covid 19 food handling regulations and is not right this kind of service for the public N I am going to file a complaint on a Bridgeport Department of health take care and watch your food be safe

Our child is a student at Sacred Heart University and introduced us to Crown Cafe. We have stopped by for both breakfast and lunch, both of which we enjoyed. We Iike the casual atmosphere and low key but attentive service. I recommend the chicken salad on a hard roll or a croissant (your preference). A good meal for the money.

A Hidden Gem This is the place to be. We dropped in for lunch recently and were blown away. The interior is very homey, filled with family vibes. The coffee was great. For lunch I ordered the Royal Robeye sandwich. It struck me as an Italian American fusion sandwich. The meat was succulent and soft, perfectly cooked, mixed with the well cooked peppers and onions it was a balanced and flavor filled bite. My wife ordered the Pastrami Reuben. Hands down we both agreed this was the best Reuben we had ever had. The pastrami was fried with a nice crisp to it, but not oily. The sauerkraut had a wonderful tang, but not over powering letting the bite of the swiss come in, absolutely perfect, PERFECT! The staff was super friendly and very helpful! While we weren't there to load up on meat we were impressed by the many cases packed with amazing looking cuts of meat. Next time we have a BBQ I will be heading there! We will be back!

Figured I would try out the egg sandwich. Asked for the standard bacon egg cheese on a Portuguese roll x2 to go. 1st issue- Upon opening them up it was clear they were not Portuguese rolls more like a club roll. 2nd issue- Cross contamination. Nothing worse than bitting into your egg sandwich and you get the taste of strong FISH. This was the case for only one of the sandwiches.

Stopped by this past Friday to finally check this place out. Once I get inside, since I'm not familiar with it I immediately head to the fridge to get 2 Snapple's..I grab a menu look it over as I waited in line to order. I waited, and waited...and waited. A man came in maybe after I've already been in line for 7-10 minutes and completely disregards me and orders his food. Ok, maybe the 3 ppl behind the counter hadn't noticed Ive been here since forever trying to order...but then I still was waiting and waiting. At this point I just want to leave, no one greeted me, no one even asked if I was taken care of...it was like I was invisible. Very disappointed. I ended up just leaving. I guess they couldn't see me?

Just came from the Crown Cafe and Deli on Madison Ave and I am a happy camper. I had a great roast beef and cheddar sandwich with horseradish sauce on a hard roll and a nice robust cup of coffee. What more could you want? The food is great and the staff is friendly and it's a blast from the past with hardwood floors tables and chairs, instead of bar stools, and nice 50's and 60's music playing in the background. Not only that, but I think that I will be doing much of my grocery shopping here from now on. They have great prices and really nice fresh cuts of meat and fish and jumbo eggs at great prices. They also have cappacola, soppessata, prosutto, porketta and mortadella. Not to mention cod and salmon and sea scallops at below market prices! And all of their breads and pastries are from Arthur Avenue, in the Bronx ! And they have a wonderful selection of San Pellegrino beverages Now, at last, I can say "goodbye" to the big box stores, other than for paper towels and toilet paper.

I live right down the street and have been meaning to check it out and finally went this morning and great place, great menu and they are right THE BEST COFFEE AROUND! I know I will be going! Follow up! Been going there every morning for coffee and a roll! My husband tried their breakfast sandwiches are they are not only great, the prices are the best around for the size of the sandwich! The even make a western omelet on a roll! Can't find that anywhere around here! Can't wait to try a burger!

Loved this place until my most recent visit. Ordered a cheeseburger off their menu for a coworker and in turn received a veggie burger or some sort of meatless burger. Not appetizing at all. Looked like fake meat. Owner/Deli Clerk was rude and had no customer service skills. I believe his words were, "this is our product and tell whoever ate this burger that this is what a real burger tastes like-- we aren't the Merritt Canteen or McDonalds". Unfortunately, I really liked this place until this happened. Will never return. After spending $65+ on a food order at a small business-- you'd think they'd do right by their customers. Apparently not.

Coffee is the best in town!! Word of mouth brought me to this location. There has been many occasions where I come back a second time during the day after breakfast, that's how much I love if that's any indication how good the coffee is.

Came here after the sacred heart v Duquesne game (Go Dukes ) We're from out of town, NJ and needed a place to sit and eat before getting on the road. After long waits at couple other places we stumbled upon Crown Cafe and we're happy we did. Big portions, yummy comfort food, breakfast all day and delicious steak fries.

Fabulous newly opened breakfast and lunch spot near SHU. Had the best pastrami Rueben ever this week. Portions are large and prices very reasonable for what you get. All kinds of coffee available! There is also a full butcher shop for your at home preparation of meats and fish. Get there before the lines get too long.

Legit deli w/ sandwich, salads, wraps menu. Also coffee, breakfast, bread/pastries. Space is bigger than it looks and lots of spots to sit, large deli counter w/ plenty of options. Italian specialties, locals reading newspapers, chill/friendly staff. I had the Cuban on grinder roll, really good - almost like a steak & cheese Cuban but w/ roast pork, pickles and mustard. I'll be back.

It's a good place to get food but, the owner is so rude and when a customer said something wrong because not knowing English the owner said if he spoke English we would have got the order write and was yelling at the works for "not having team work" when he was the problem and he kept staring at me and my friend. Would not recommend this place because of the owner.

If given the choice, drive the extra mile to Merritt. You'll be served faster, your egg won't be runny, and you'll save a few bucks. We ordered BEC's and a hashbrown... the cheese melted out all over so the buns were soggy, the eggs were dripping, and the hashbrown was completely stuck to the wrapping so there was hardly anything to eat.

The cafe had good food but mean people working there and gave dirty looks at customer and I will never go back there because the look at what you eat and talk about you witch is not okay.

My husband, son and myself all ordered sandwiches from the Crown Cafe for our sunny Friday afternoon lunch. I will say one thing. It surely feels good to have such a "great deal for your money" place to go back to in Bridgeport! Sure has that neighborhood feel to it! My son ordered the Cubano, and it did not disappoint! The smell of slow-roasted pork filled my kitchen when he opened up his go-to order. Hubby's roast beef was piled high, and my own Royal Ribeye's beef was cooked to order, the horseradish dressing making my eyes (and mouth) water! It may have taken a little longer, but I do not mind waiting for a sandwich made right! Their breakfast/lunch menu is on my kitchen fridge!

I've been coming to this deli since summer of '19 and was a huge fan. Its a cute shop and deli, the food is real good, and the young counter people taking orders were awesome! However, during the COVID-19 pandemic I was trying to support local businesses and when I went to pick up my order it was a huge surprise to see the owner proudly wearing a Confederate flag mask on April 17, 2020. I asked him to confirm it was in fact a confederate flag and when he proudly stated "yes", I let him know I had to go order but that I would not be taking it and politely left. I will no longer support this business. (Out respect for the owner I did not take a picture to post)

Such a well needed gathering place in North End Bridgeport. So evident is the love and care that went into making it a destination for great food and camaraderie.

Awesome cafe, deli and meat market. You can go there and get a freshly made breakfast or lunch and purchase your deli meats and dinners for the week at the same time. In addition to a wonderful family atmosphere you can pick up a rotisserie chicken, freshly cut steaks, salmon, grouper etc..

One of the best bacon egg and cheeses around. The coffee is really good... But the service is painfully slow. It really pays to have a competent front counter person.

Live right down the street from here. Place has really friendly staff and I love that I can get harder to find cold cuts from them at a cheaper price. Their coffee isn't bad and it's nice to sit down and enjoy a cup. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing and a welcome environment I find our area was sorely lacking. Really happy to have them here and hope they stay open for a long time.

A wonderful place to meet up with friends for breakfast, lunch or dinner! The food is delicious, the meats and fish are fantastic and even the groceries they provide are competitively priced. I've been meeting up with friends there nearly every weekend. Apparently it's a meeting place for SHU too! Nice to see so much activity in that section of the North End!

As a resident of this neighborhood for more than 15 years, I was excited for this establishment to open it doors!! When I finally got a chance to try them I was highly disappointed, the service was very unorganized, the faces of the employees shows me that they were NOT happy to be there :-( it would be amazing to feel positive energy and a welcoming face. First experience: I ordered a pastrami sandwich, I was taken back when I noticed two of the "cooks" going back and forth and looking up the recipe for the sandwich, they began to ask me if I wanted each ingredient which I DO ! Lol a pastrami sandwich is a one of a kind. Anywho after watching them struggle to begin making my sandwich, one of the cooks brings to my attention that they do not have rye bread I was on the verge of just walking out, we were 15 mins in and my sandwich hasn't even begun being made. Trying to be understandable, Im pretty laid back and see things with an open mind, so I was taking a lot of things into consideration. Long story short there was Rye bread the cook just wasn't able to tell which bread was which, he got help and yay for my sandwich! It was HUGE, flavor not the best but not the worst. I was determined to try it again. so I gave it another try because hey it's a new business :) second time, unfortunately the service continues to be very unpleasant, very unwelcoming. This time I went with my sister and niece, my niece got the cubano and I again tried the pastrami. My pastrami was better than the first time I also didn't have anyone asking if I wanted pastrami in my pastrami sandwich lol. The tea super overpriced, I read herbal tea and my expectation was something unique but it was actually just regular tea bags that I have at home (bummer) my nieces cubano, I will just say that it needs a lot of work. It has an extra ingredient that a cubano doesn't usually have or at least it taste like something I have never tasted in my cubano, didn't taste like pork or any flavor at all but I know there is hope ! Hopefully you guys perfect that recipe. Third time, I tried going on other days but you close on Sundays which is horrible because that is the most perfect day to make money NO ONE wants to cook. Anyways I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant. Wait time was too long for the amount of people waiting, when the woman called me up she's touching my sandwich appearing confused and she states to me " this isnt in a croissant you want me to tell them to make you another one?" ....... that's all...I sorta just wanted my money back and wanted out but instead I said no I am hungry, took the sandwich ate half but really not the best tasting, spent 10 dollars and the only thing I enjoyed was my Kambucha didn't even get a sorry from the lady. I think this is an extremely beautiful establishment!!! I love the feel it's going for BUT I think the owner needs to work on better service, it's over priced, it should match the food and specially the service, a better menu. This neighborhood consist of a lot of Latinos as well as Caucasian, let's mix it up ! Brain storm on a better menu, stand out from the rest. I would love to make this my spot it's just across from my home here on Madison Ave but I'd love see IMPROVEMENT. Sincerely what the real neighborhood is thinking. Xoxo
